Kush Chronic-les: A Denver Newspaper Has Employs A Writer To Pen Pot Reviews

This guy has got to be the envy of college students across the world… Denver is at the peak of a citywide pot boom. It all started after the U.S. Attorney General’s office — in a shift of policy since the Bush administration — announced in 2009 that it would not prosecute marijuana users if their state permits use of the drug for medical reasons. “It just blew up from there,” William Breathes tells weekends on All Things Considered host Guy Raz. Colorado had permitted use of medical marijuana since 2000, but now it had a stamp of approval from the federal government. So Breathes — employed by Westword, Denver’s weekly alternative newspaper — became perhaps the first professional marijuana critic in the country. William Breathes is his pen name, of course. Like a food critic, he remains anonymous to the businesses he reviews. Says “William” about his writing: “We have more than 100,000 licensed medical marijuana cardholders in the state,” he says. That’s fueled the growth of dispensaries, which now outnumber Starbucks in Denver. More than 300 dispensaries are in business citywide. That’s a lot of options for readers of Westword, Breathes says. “When I’m reviewing marijuana, I’m looking for how clean it’s grown, how well it’s grown,” he says. But he’s also reviewing the dispensary itself. “How would an older patient feel going into this place?” he says. “How would someone new to cannabis feel in this place? If it makes me feel icky going into a place, then it would probably make my grandma feel icky. And there’s plenty of grandmas around the Denver community with medical marijuana cards going to these dispensaries.” Damn Denver, talk about Rocky Mountain “high”. Wonder does Mr. Breathes get the munchies, fall asleep, and miss his deadlines? Source

Jill Scott Says You Can’t Smash Her THICKALICIOUS Cakes Until After The 5th Date

Ms.Scott recently spoke on her rules for any of you fellas planning on taking a long walk with her after dark in her park… Now the minimum is until the fifth date. The whole celibacy thing, you could throw that out the window. That’s over. But I don’t have physical intimacy until at least the fifth date. So I can get to know who I’m dealing with and they can get to know me. And with my schedule, five dates can take three or four months! It just gives me a chance to get to know the person. So we talk on the phone pretty much every day or maybe we Skype or have a date and we have fun. I’m getting to know someone so I know if they’re crazy or not. I just don’t want to waste my time. I’m just trying to look at the mistakes that I made. I got so caught up in the flesh and I’m not even allowing someone to get to know the best parts of me. I’m a single girl in the world, but if I don’t have some standards then I can be making the same mistakes that I made in the past. I do want love. Genuine love. And sometimes sex can get in the way Preach it Jill! Nothing wrong with waiting on knocking the boots. Riiiight? SOURCE

The Side Eye: Dame Dash’s Baby Mama Says He Talked His Son Out Of Going To College So He Could Stop Paying Child Support!!!

This shady mu’fuggah here! As much as Dame Dash used to show off his son Boog when the checks were coming in, his baby mama now says he is doing any and everything to avoid helping her take care of their son. Linda Williams – who has a 19-year-old son (also named Damon Dash) – is battling her famous ex to pay court ordered payments of $425 per week to help support their son. Williams claims that Dash Sr. – who once had an estimated fortune of $50 million – has also interfered with their son from going to college because this would mean he will have to continue to pay child support. Williams told RadarOnline.com: “I just want Damon Dash to do the right thing by his son and pay his support and help me get him in college. “My son got into Five Towns College in Dix Hills, NY, on a $30,000 scholarship recently to do music, but his father did not want him to go even though it would not have cost him anything. “He keeps telling him ‘tell your mom to drop the child support case and get out of court’ when my son just wants to be a normal teenager and go to college. “His father recently set him up with some DJ gigs in New York, and I’m worried that he falls in with a bad crowd and gets involved with drugs and alcohol. Now, in Dame’s defense: Boog is 19. At this point, if he wants to help his son out directly and avoid the baby mama as a middle man, he should be able to, right? Especially since we all know that man’s money is funny these days. And New York doesn’t play about those child support cases. On April 6, 2010, Magistrate Cheryl Weir Reeves threatened to jail and seize Dash Sr.’s driving and business licenses, if he did not comply with previous rulings. The back-dated payments of $425 per week to Williams were due to began on May 27, 2010. Their original child support agreement in November 8, 1999, called upon Dash to pay her $3,766.67 per month in child support payments. In addition, he was ordered to pay for his son’s summer camp, tutoring fees, private school tuition, karate lessons, guitar lessons plus the quarterly sum of $1,000 as vacation expenses also. Last year, two multi-million dollar lofts he owned in Manhattan, New York, went into foreclosure after he failed to make the $78, 500 per month payments on them. According to the State of New Jersey’s Division of Taxation, Dash is currently the second biggest debtor to the state, owing $23,073,227.56 in back taxes to New York and New Jersey. But Linda Williams doesn’t believe claims that Dash Sr. is totally broke. She said: “At our last court appearance he admitted that he was paying between $10,000 and $12,000 per month for his home in Up-State New York, plus he has an art gallery and recording studio in Manhattan, so, he’s hardly broke.” Do you think Linda’s really in this for her son’s sake?? Or is she just trying to make sure she her cut while Dame’s checks are still coming in??

Gucci Mane Still In Jail Due To ‘Procedural Holdups’

‘We are hoping that Mr. Davis is released today,’ Gucci’s lawyer tells MTV News on Tuesday. By Rob Markman Gucci Mane in police custody on Friday, April 8, 2011 Photo: Dekelb County Sheriff Despite persistent rumors, Gucci Mane is not free — not yet at least. Gucci’s attorney, Ashutosh Joshi, told MTV News that the Georgia rapper (real name: Radric Davis) is still locked up in Fulton County Jail due to a probation violation , but he could be released later on Tuesday (July 5). “We are hoping that Mr. Davis is released today,” Joshi said. “He is scheduled to be released from Fulton County Jail. However, there are some procedural holdups between the county jail and the state prison as to whether Mr. Davis has to go back to the state prison before he can be released.” Joshi added that he has an order from a Fulton County judge that should ensure Gucci’s release. A Fulton County Jail rep confirmed for MTV News that there is a chance Gucci’s release would be put on hold and that there are instructions to send him up to Jackson State Prison. “There is an order from a Fulton County judge requiring that Mr. Davis serve his time at a Fulton County jail,” Joshi said. “So it is our hope and belief that once the county jail and the state prison are able to communicate — which we understand is occurring today, and once the state prison is aware of the judge’s order, that they will remove or release any hold they have on Mr. Davis and he can be physically released from the Fulton County Jail.” According to Joshi, after serving about two months at Fulton County, the “So Icey” MC was transferred to Jackson State Prison, but due to the short amount of time he had left on his probation he didn’t meet the minimum requirements to serve his time at Jackson State. As a result, Gucci’s legal team returned to the sentencing judge in Fulton County requesting an order requiring the rapper to serve all of his time in Fulton County. The judge agreed and Gucc’s lawyer is waiting for the state to get that message. Gucci was jailed in April after numerous unspecified probation violations stemming from a 2005 aggravated assault case. His probation from that case will be resolved after he is released, according to his attorney. Related Artists Gucci Mane

Casey Anthony Motion to Dismiss Case: Denied!

After the prosecution rested in the Casey Anthony trial, the judge denied the defense’s motion for acquittal on the Florida woman’s murder charge. Judge Belvin Perry said the state presented “substantial, competent evidence” that Anthony’s daughter Caylee was slain and she was responsible. The defense now must proceed with its case on Thursday. Anthony faces three charges, including first-degree premeditated murder. She had no reaction in the Orlando court when the motion was denied. Her attorney, Cheney Mason, had argued that prosecutors failed to present evidence that a murder had even occurred, premeditated or otherwise. “There has been no evidence of premeditation,” the lawyer said . “There has been a stacking of inferences. A stacking of speculation. No evidence.” “There is no evidence to suggest when she died, where she died, how she died, who if anyone was in attendance with her when she died.” The state, he added, established only that “the child is dead.” In denying the motion to toss the case, the judge begged to differ and concluded there is compelling evidence Caylee Anthony was murdered . Her mother, while innocent until proven guilty, is on trial for a reason. Assistant State Attorney Linda Drane Burdick argues that Caylee Anthony died as a result of “three pieces of duct tape applied to her nose and mouth, as a result of poisoning by chloroform [and] as a result of a combination of the two.” Gruesome stuff to say the least.
