Looks like it was a wrong direction! Taylor Swift and Harry Styles have broken up after only two months together. Several reports are claiming that Swift and Styles have split because of their busy schedules and constant touring. However we’re also hearing that Haylor got into a very heated argument on their romantic vacation to the British Virgin Islands. After the fight and subsequent split, Swift caught a flight back to the states while Styles stuck around and party hopped over to Richard Branson’s private Necker Island. Taylor and Harry’s reps have yet to comment, but one thing is for sure: Taylor’s next single just wrote itself!
The film version of Les Misérables is building momentum ahead of its Christmas roll-out in the States, and much has been made about Anne Hathaway ‘s very slimmed down look. She even made fun of her much shorter hair style, likening her new ‘look’ to resembling her brother. “When I eventually looked in the mirror, I just thought I looked like my gay brother,” Hathaway told a New York audience at a Friday evening screening as reported by THR. Hathaway, who plays the tragic Fantine in the film, directed by Oscar-winning The King’s Speech director Tom Hooper, said her mother had also once played the part in a Philadelphia production when she was seven years-old. Hathaway said in the December issue of Vogue that she lost 25 pounds to play the part, dropping the final 15 pounds by eating just two thin squares of dried oatmeal paste per day just ahead of the shoot. “I had to be obsessive about it. The idea was to look near death,” she told Vogue. “Looking back on the whole experience — and I don’t judge it in any way — it was definitely a little nuts. It was definitely a break with reality, but I think that’s who Fantine is anyway.” In related Les Misérables news, Hugh Jackman, who plays Jean Valjean in the musical told The Daily Mail that the film will transform the musical on-screen experience for audiences. “We sing as we act, rather than lay down songs weeks in advance,” Jackman said. “It makes it much more realistic particularly with a gritty story like this.” Also starring Russell Crowe, Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen, the film is an adaptation of Victor Hugo’s classic novel set in 19th century France. Mitt Romney Says FEMA Should Be Disbanded Via Huffington Post During a CNN debate at the height of the GOP primary, Mitt Romney was asked, in the context of the Joplin disaster and FEMA’s cash crunch, whether the agency should be shuttered so that states can individually take over responsibility for disaster response. “Absolutely,” he said. “Every time you have an occasion to take something from the federal government and send it back to the states, that’s the right direction. And if you can go even further, and send it back to the private sector, that’s even better. Instead of thinking, in the federal budget, what we should cut, we should ask the opposite question, what should we keep?” “Including disaster relief, though?” debate moderator John King asked Romney. “We cannot — we cannot afford to do those things without jeopardizing the future for our kids,” Romney replied. “It is simply immoral, in my view, for us to continue to rack up larger and larger debts and pass them on to our kids, knowing full well that we’ll all be dead and gone before it’s paid off. It makes no sense at all.” In other words, let the states be responsible for their own disaster relief and if possible, let’s find a way for private companies to make some money off of floods, earthquakes, fires etc. How many pepole do you think would STILL be homeless and broke if FEMA wasn’t around??
