Christian Singer Hires Hitman To Kill Wife According to NY Daily News The lead singer of Christian heavy metal band “As I Lay Dying” tried to hire a hit man to kill his estranged wife, authorities said. Grammy-nominated rocker Tim Lambesis, 32, was arrested in a sting operation 2 p.m. Tuesday in Oceanside, Southern California. Authorities said they sprang into action after hearing Thursday how he wanted someone to murder Meggan Lambesis — the mother of his three adopted children. “The information came to us late last week. We acted quickly on it. I believe we averted a great tragedy,” said Jan Caldwell of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. Heavily tattooed Lambesis, who lives 20 miles north of San Diego in Del Mar, was served with divorce papers by his wife in September 2012. The long-haired singer’s band, formed in 2000, has released six albums. Its most successful was “An Ocean Between Us” which soared to No. 8 on the Billboard charts in 2007. His group had recently returned from tour in Asia, reports Billboard.com. Metal Blade, the group’s record label, has not commented on the arrest. Where were the parents? 6-Year-Old Shot By Brother According to NBC Miami Homicide detectives in Broward County, Florida are talking with a 13-year-old boy who they believe shot his 6-year-old sister. According to NBC Miami, the shooting occurred just before 7 p.m. in Oakland Park on Saturday night. “They were playing hide and go seek. I don’t know how it went down but he shot his sister,” neighbor Peter Milano explained. “They just carried her out in her hands and you can tell above her chest area she had a hole where she was shot,” neighbor Justin Latoutrrette told WSVN. Broward Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Dani Moschella said that the two children were at home alone when the incident happened. “We just don’t know at this point if this was an accident or if it was intentional,” Moschella said. “It is very difficult when dealing with children, specifically children who’ve been through a very traumatic situation,” she pointed out. “This family will never be the same after tonight, no matter how it ends up.” Another neighbor told The Miami Herald that the “little boy just sat there rocking back and forth… It’s just so devastating. They had just moved in two weeks ago.” Under Florida law, the parents could be charged with a third-degree felony if police determine that the gun was “within the reach or easy access of a minor” and was used to cause injury or death. The 6-year-old girl was taken to Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale. Moschella reported that she was in critical but stable condition as of Sunday night. Detroit Most Dangerous City In The U.S. According to CBS Detroit It’s a clean sweep for Detroit, but nothing to be proud of, as the city takes the top three spots on a list of the most dangerous neighborhoods in America. The study by NeighborhoodScout.com analyzed FBI statistics from 17,000 local law enforcement agencies to pinpoint neighborhoods across the country with the highest predicted rates of violent crimes per 1,000 residents. Researchers drilled down deep into cities and towns to find specific census tract areas that had the highest rates of homicide, forcible rape, armed robbery and aggravated assault. According to the study, the area east of the Barton-McFarland community in zip code 48204 is the most dangerous neighborhood in America. The study said the chances of becoming a victim of violent crime in this west side community over the course of a year are one in seven. According to NeighborhoodScout, one of the more devastating events in this neighborhood over the past year was the closure of the public library — where children took remedial reading and math classes and adults used public computers to apply for jobs. Sharing similar statistics is the Islandview community in the 48207 zip code on the city’s east side, which ranks as the second most dangerous neighborhood on the list. It’s in this neighborhood where, according to the study, housing costs have gone down so dramatically that a 3,300 square-foot property sold for just $800 — down from $70,000 in 2002. The study said the chances of becoming a victim of violent crime in this community over the course of a year are one in seven. Coming in as the third most dangerous neighborhood in the country is the area between Ravendale and LaSalle College Park in zip codes 48213 and 48205. The study said the chances of becoming a victim of violent crime in this east side neighborhood are one in eight. About 40 percent of the households here have four or more cars — more cars per household than in 96 percent of the country, according to NeighborhoodScout. You can’t be serious … Kentucky Boy Shoots Sister With Gun He Got From Parents Via AP reports: Authorities in southern Kentucky say a 2-year-old girl has been accidentally shot and killed by her 5-year-old brother, who was playing with a .22-caliber rifle he received as a gift. Kentucky State Police said the toddler was shot just after 1 p.m. CDT Tuesday in Cumberland County and was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Cumberland County Coroner Gary White told the Lexington Herald-Leader that the children’s mother was at home at the time. White told the newspaper that the boy received the rifle made for youths last year and is used to shooting it. He said the gun was kept in a corner and the family didn’t realize a shell was left inside it. White said the shooting will be ruled accidental. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday. Man Kills Brother At Wake According to Mail Online A man has today been charged with murdering his younger brother while at a wake for their other sibling. Mark Hayes, 52, is accused of fatally stabbing 48-year-old Sean Hayes following the funeral of their brother Tom. The brothers are thought to have become embroiled in a furious argument in the early hours of Saturday morning. Neighbors heard screams from an end-of-terrace house in Eltham, south east London, where Mark lives with his 49-year-old wife Carla. Police and paramedics were called to reports of a stabbing in the early hours. Sean Hayes was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem gave cause of death as a stab wound to the chest and abdomen. Father-of-three Mark Hayes was arrested on suspicion of murder. Another man, aged 23, was arrested on suspicion of assault following a separate incident at the house. He was taken to a south London police station and has since been bailed. A third man, aged 48, was arrested on Saturday afternoon on suspicion of violent disorder. He was taken to a south London police station and has since been bailed to return, pending further inquiries. A Scotland Yard spokesman said: ‘Mark Hayes has been charged with the murder of Shaun Hayes, aged 48, on Saturday. ‘He will appear in custody at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday.’ One neighbour told the Sun: ‘I heard this massive commotion outside. A woman was screaming her lungs out and within minutes the police arrived. Two Girls Make Video Death Threats Against Classmates According to North Jersey Two seventh-grade girls from School 27 have been removed from classes and face criminal charges for posting a video on YouTube this week threatening to kill their classmates, officials said. Authorities have not made public any evidence the two students actually planned to carry out the threats. But one parent at the school, Jackie Quinones, said the girls in the video named 10 to 12 classmates they said they wanted to kill and stab. “It’s serious enough for us to have this investigated, especially because of the current climate we’re in,’’ said Mayor Jeffery Jones on Thursday afternoon, shortly after being informed of the situation by acting Police Chief William Fraher. “Let’s hope that it was just frustrations and emotions and they didn’t mean anything, but we can’t sit back and just hope.’’ Parents, too, aren’t taking any chances. Officials say parents whose daughters were on the girls’ hit list went to police headquarters on Wednesday evening to file terroristic threat charges against the two students. Quinones said some parents also have spoken to investigators with the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office at 401 Grand St. Quinones said the two girls who made the threats had not been in any previous disputes with their classmates. “No bullying, no fights, nothing,’’ said Quinones. “I don’t understand it.’’ Quinones said her daughter told her the situation started on Tuesday afternoon during a classroom journal writing exercise. One of the girls wrote in her journal the names of students – mostly other girls – she wanted to kill, said Quinones. At the end of the class, the girl read her journal entry to classmates, but not within earshot of the teacher, said Quinones. “My daughter said to her, ‘You want to kill me?’” said Quinones. “She said, ‘Yes, I want to kill you.’” Quinones said her 12-year-old daughter, whose name she asked not be published, then went to the bathroom to hide. “My daughter called me from the bathroom,’’ said Quinones. “She was so scared she was crying.” Quinones said she was working in Newark at the time but rushed back to Paterson and went right to the school principal’s office. She met with Graciella Ayala, who she said is the principal. Ayala told her the student who made the threats was being removed from the school and would not be allowed to return until she had been evaluated by a doctor, Quinones said. But the next day, Quinones said her daughter called again from the school to let her know that the girl who had made the threats was back in the building, but in a different classroom. Quinones said she returned to the principal’s office and was told the girl had gotten medical clearance. By Wednesday afternoon, another student in the class had found the threatening video on YouTube, Quinones said. The video showed the girl involved in Tuesday’s threats again saying she wanted to kill certain classmates, naming about a dozen of them, Quinones said. A second girl participated in the video, speaking off-camera about classmates to target, said Quinones. The video was 21-minutes long and remained posted on YouTube until about 1:30 am on Thursday, Quinones said. School district spokeswoman Terry Corallo issued a statement saying educators learned of the “disturbing video” on Wednesday. “As the safety of our students and staff is our utmost concern, we immediately took action and removed these students from the school environment,’’ said Corallo’s statement. “We have been communicating with the parents who had children in the same class as these two students. We have assured these parents that we have taken this issue very seriously and are taking the necessary steps to address this issue.’’ Corallo would not clarify whether the students have been suspended. “Additionally, the video has been pulled from YouTube,’’ Corallo said. “This is now a police investigation and they will have our full cooperation.” Capt.
