Bobbi Kristina Sustained Facial Injuries Before Drowning Could Bobbi & Nick’s violent relationship have led to her tragic incident? More details have been released on the circumstances that led Atlanta-area police to begin looking at Bobbi Kristina’s “husband” Nick Gordon on suspicion of foul play . It turns out the suspicious injuries that piqued investigators’ interest were on her face, and seem to have been acquired before she ended up face down in her bathtub. Via TMZ : Bobbi Kristina suffered injuries to her face before she was found submerged in a bathtub — according to a report — and that sparked the investigation focusing on her boyfriend Nick Gordon. As TMZ first reported … Roswell PD started taking a closer look at Nick and Bobbi Kristina’s relationship after certain injuries raised their concerns. WSB-TV in Atlanta says sources close to the investigation tell them the marks were on her face … and more specifically, her mouth. As we’ve told you … multiple sources say there is a history of violence in their relationship — and their friend Max Lomas told police Nick was acting strangely before they found Bobbi Kristina. Clergy Members Send In Their Pictures To Replace Pics Of Black Men Used For Target Practice By Florida Police via Think Progress When National Guard Sgt. Valerie Deant arrived at a shooting range in Medley, Florida for annual weapons qualifications training in December, she was expecting a typical military exercise. But as she readied for target practice, she noticed several bullet-hole-ridden mug shots of young black men hanging near the range, left behind by the North Miami Beach Police snipers who had just finished using the facilities. That alone was enough to frustrate Deant, but she suddenly came to an even more horrifying realization: one of the pictures was of her brother. Over the past few weeks, dozens of priests, ministers, and seminarians — including celebrated progressive Christian author and pastor Nadia Bolz-Weber — have protested the actions of the North Miami Beach Police Department by using a Facebook page and the hashtag “#usemeinstead”, posting images of themselves and daring police officers to shoot at pictures of collared faith leaders instead of black youth. A California woman who became an activist against police brutality after the father of her daughter was brutally beaten to death by 15 police officers back in 2005 was rightfully outraged upon learning that her 7-year-old daughter was being forced to celebrate “Law Enforcement Appreciation Day” at school. via The Free Thought Project North Beardsley Elementary in Bakersfield, California, is facing backlash after the principal, Aimee Williamson, who happens to be the wife of the Bakersfield police chief, decided to celebrate the pseudo holiday of Law Enforcement Appreciation Day on January 9th. The biggest problem is that this hits far too close to home for one student. Outspoken activist Alicia Moore was horrified when her seven year old daughter returned home from school on Thursday upset about her class assignment that day, as her older brother’s father was brutally beaten to death by 15 Bakersfield police officers in 2005. According to Moore, her daughter’s teacher put three sentences on the board for students to choose from, all thanking and supporting the police. The options included, “Thank you for arresting the bad guys!” and “Thank you for saving our city.” The teacher reportedly told the students that anything negative would be thrown in the trash. She further instructed the students that they were to wear blue on Friday in support of Law Enforcement. Moore’s daughter is a very bright young girl who prides herself on her perfect attendance record. She also not only attends, but is consistently quick to jump into protests as this is an issue she is very passionate about. She will be staying home from school tomorrow due to the position her teacher has put her in. James Moore, the father of her 21 year old brother, was bound, hand and foot, when as many as 15 Bakersfield deputies beat him to death in the basement of the jail in 2005. James was arrested on suspicion of making threats after he got into an argument with the mother of his younger son. The main issue with this is that police officers should be taught to respect the rights of citizens just as much as citizens should also respect the authority of police and until each of those can happen equally, there will continue to be tension between the two. SMH… Man Punches Elderly Man For Sneezing One Queens man was so concerned about contracting the sniffles that he knocked out an elderly man who he felt was spreading his bacteria a little too closely for his comfort. Via NYpost : A germaphobic punk punched an elderly man who sneezed near him at a Queens subway station Wednesday, police said. The thug slugged on the left side of the sneezy 68-year-old’s face on the mezzanine at the Roosevelt Avenue- 74th Street subway station in Jackson Heights about 6:30 p.m. Christmas Eve, cops said Thrusday. The blow sent the victim tumbling to the station’s floor. The attacker then then fled through the station’s doors and is still at large. The victim suffered bruises on the back of his head, but did not black out. He was treated at Elmhurst Hospital. According to surveillance footage, the suspect appears to be in his thirties and six feet tall. He was wearing dark sunglasses and a waist-length jacket. Janay & Ray Rice New Video: Couple Kisses In Elevator Just After Domestic Abuse Incident Apparently there is even more footage from the night Ray Rice punched his then fiance Janay Palmer out cold in an Atlantic City elevator. Though the surviellance footage captures no sound, you can see the conflicting emotions the couple go through as they are questioned by police and handcuffed — first arguing in the lobby, then passionately kissing in the same elevator in which their case of extreme domestic violence occurred — while handcuffed and surrounded by police. Via NYPost : Bizarre new video shows Ray Rice and his fiancée – both with their hands cuffed behind their back – lovingly kissing not long after he knocked her cold inside an Atlantic City elevator. The surveillance video, obtained by ABC News, shows his now-wife Janay Palmer, at first shunning his efforts to speak to her as they both stood in an elevator in police custody after a boozy Valentine’s Day bash turned violent at the Revel Casino last Feb. 15. A weeping Janay nudged the brute away as he tried to approach her, the video shows, and hotel security at one point got between the warring lovebirds. But then Palmer – who admitted she was pie-eyed during the violent encounter – inexplicably started nuzzling and making out with the disgraced ex-NFL star, who earned Pro Bowl honors while playing for the Baltimore Ravens. Both were arrested though charges against Janay were dropped. Rice was barred from the league, a decision that was later overturned by an arbitrator. SMH! Bronx Teen Arrested On Murder Charges After House Party Stabbing This story is an absolute shame. One teen is dead and several others are injured after a fight broke out at a house party in the Bronx over the weekend. Apparently the one boy looking to break up the violence is the one who was killed in the confusion. Via NYDN : A Bronx teenager was charged with murder in the stabbing death of a 14-year-old boy at a Bronx house party, police said Tuesday. Ken Goodwin, 18, is accused of killing Justin Fallu and wounding three other teens after a wild fight broke out in a Barnes Ave. apartment in Pelham Parkway about 3:15 a.m. Sept. 28. Neighbors said teens had been partying and smoking marijuana for hours before a fight erupted and the party spilled out into the lobby. Goodwin, also known as Shakil Martin, stabbed Justin and two 18-year-old boys in the chest and a 17-year-old boy in the shoulder, cops said. The older teens survived but Justin, a student at Public School 754, the J.M. Rapport School for Career Development, died at Jacobi Medical Center. Friends told the Daily News that Justin was trying to break up the fight when he was killed. Goodwin was identified as a suspect days after the bloody melee, but police were unable to locate him. Accompanied by a lawyer, Goodwin turned himself in at the 50th Precinct stationhouse Monday morning, cops said. He was charged with murder, three counts of assault and criminal possession of a weapon, officials said. Goodwin has eight prior arrests, cops said. After police named him as a suspect in Justin’s murder, he missed his court dates for his three ongoing Bronx criminal cases and arrest warrants were issued. Wow. Interesting… Ray Rice’s Indefinite Suspension Ruling Overturned, Wife Janay Speaks After getting booted from the Baltimore Ravens over laying the smack down on his then-fiancee Janay in a casino elevator, Ray Rice has been reinstated due to the questionable decision-making and rule-rewriting of NFL Commissioner Rodger Goodell. Via TMZ : Ray Rice just won a HUGE victory … his indefinite suspension has been overturned. Short story … a just ruled NFL Commissioner Rodger Goodell abused his authority when he changed Rice’s discipline from a 2-game suspension to an indefinite one. The judge ruled Rice had told the truth when he was initially interviewed by Goodell and company and the Commish had no right to alter the punishment after TMZ posted the elevator video. It could be something of a hollow victory … Rice is now a man without a team, and his prospects of new NFL employment is iffy at best. In decision, U.S. District Judge Barbara S. Jones explained … “Rice did not mislead the Commissioner at the June 16th meeting, and therefore, that the imposition of a second suspension based on the same incident and the same known facts about the incident, was arbitrary.” “The Commissioner needed to be fair and consistent in his imposition of discipline. Moreover, any failure on the part of the League to understand the level of violence was not due to Rice’s description of the event but to the inadequacy of words to convey the seriousness of domestic violence. That the League did not realize the severity of the conduct without a visual record also speaks to their admitted failure in the past to sanction this type of conduct more severely.” Rice issued a statement saying he’s thankful.
