Kim Kardashian: Planned Parenthood is Awesome, People!

Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian will arrive at an important conclusion this Sunday night. On the next episode of their family's reality show, the sisters will visit a Los Angeles-based Planned Parenthood and come to the realization that the organization actually does a lot of good. Contrary to what some politicians or people may tell you. “The perception of Planned Parenthood is that it's like this abortion clinic, that's nothing like what it's like,” Kim explains in the following footage, adding: “Hearing that firsthand really made it real for me.” It's true. Not only does Planned Parenthood help women with MANY health issues, but it does not take government funding for abortions. Just stating some facts here. One of the stories the soon-to-be-VERY-rich siblings heard came from a woman named Kelly, who said she and her boyfriend chose to get tested there after having unprotected sex. Within 15 minutes of getting their finger pricked, the couple learned they were both HIV positive. Scary stuff. “Planned Parenthood, they were compassionate and understanding and they told me you know you're life isn't over. This is manageable,” Kelly said. “You can live a normal life with this. Planned Parenthood basically kept me alive.” This certainly isn't the sort of serious topic Keeping Up with the Kardashians takes on. But good for the show for doing so. The trip left Khloe especially altered when it came to her thoughts towards the organization, which has become a hot button topic for conservatives. Many politicians on that side of the aisle want to cut off funding to it entirely. “I'm a big fan of Planned Parenthood now,” Khloe says below. “Meeting all the girls and hearing their stories and seeing how many women have been helped by some of the services they have to offer. “I think people need to be more educated before they form opinions and that's what I'm grateful that I had the opportunity to do today.” Watch the interesting clip below:

Rain Brown Praised, Scolded for Equality Message!

You may not think of Alaskan Bush People as the best platform for progressive ideals, but you should remember that the Brown family is made up of real people with a lot more depth than could ever fit into a reality series. The family’s youngest, Rain Brown, uses social media for a lot more than just delivering updates on her mom’s health and speaking about her battle with depression . She also uses it to promote wonderful messages about making the world a better place. And she’s getting some well-deserved praise (and undeserved hate) for it. Before posting her own miniature essay on equality in the captions, Rain posted an existing image that reads: “I am a nasty woman because I believe in love, acceptance, equality, kindness, respect, and the power of my voice.” Though Rain doesn’t say so herself, this quote was inspired by Ashley Judd who, at the Women’s March, recited a poem by 19-year-old Nina Donovan. And, obviously, the “nasty woman” line was inspired by what Trump so infamously said about Hillary Clinton at the debates. Instead of giving background on the quote contained within the image that she posted, Rain wrote in her own words about the importance of equality and what it means to her. “Equality is SO important.” A simple statement on its own, but very true. “No one it’s better no matter their sexuality, skin color, or gender.” Also true. “We are all people, it’s so sad to me that we are living in 2017 and STILL we are not all treated equal, if you’re different, good!” She’s such a sweet person. We have to wonder what brought on this topic, right? She had previously improvised a song in which she joked about being better than the listener, but this was just her hitting back at trolls who fill her Instagram comments. So … what prompted Rain to talk about equality? We’re not sure, exactly. But Rain does talk about how the issue of equality impacts her, personally. “You actually had the power and strength to stand up for something, and something that is NEVER discussed in media is age equality.” To be clear, she’s not equating ageism (which can impact the young and old, if in different ways) with slavery or anti-LGBT bigotry or anything like that. But it’s a topic that, she’s right, doesn’t get talked about enough. “Just because I’m 14 doesn’t make me less of a person then a 60 year old our time spent on this earth or how we spend it shouldn’t change the way people treat you.” Rain Brown may be referring to her recently revealed battle with depression , which she says was dismissed off-handedly because of her youth. (When, in fact, adolescents are more vulnerable to depression than most other groups; with symptoms exacerbated by hormones, a depressed teenager should get the counseling and medication that they need) But Rain is not trying to make the message of equality all about her, of course. She’s just talking about how it relates to her, personally. “For everyone out there that is sad or been bullied or lied to it happens to literally everyone.” Unfortunately, that is true. “So just don’t return the favor, basically what I’m getting to is, all my life I’ve wanted to change something and so many people tell me I can’t, but I already have, even if no one agrees with me I still made them think.” She’s right — don’t get mistreated and then turn around and do it to someone else. And it sounds like people don’t listen to her enough. Perhaps, because she’s the youngest, people can’t help but see her as a baby. But she’s not anymore. “And I’m not about to let anyone make me give up on my dream, my mission is to spread love and light on this dark world, join me be strong and fierce but kind and compassionate to your neighbors, life is all about balance.” So she’s not listening to trolls. Good. Commenters were quick to praise the young Alaskan Bush People star for her stance. “I liked you before this. Now I freaking love you Rainy!!!! Equality, respect, kindness, and acceptance are paramount in this world.” Very well said! “Your response is exactly what I would expect from a young women raised by an amazing mom. Thumbs up! I can only hope my 13 year old daughter learns your family values.” Awww, a shout-out to Ami Brown while praising Rain! Cute. “You are such an outstanding person.” And there were many more positive comments. There were, of course, some negative comments. Even though Rain is 14 and shared a positive message, some people just want to get into arguments. “Equality, acceptance, all good, but Romans chapter 1, God says diffrent.” We’re not going to get into an academic debate about Biblical passages, but … well, we’re pretty sure that Romans is attributed to Paul . (Honestly, that’s beside the point, because adults have no business going into the comments of a 14-year-old’s post and starting theological arguments or arguments of any other kind. She’s a kid; be nice or get out) “There is no such thing as equality. We are all different. Although well meaning ‘equality’ creates division. Males and females have different abilities on average and different races have different attributes. We must accept our differences and move on to be happy.” So that one’s, like, straight-up racist, among other things. (The “different races have different attributes” line is fine if you’re talking about, like, elves or orcs … not real-life people) “My advice is to listen to wise advice. ‘A Nasty woman’, is a nasty term from nasty feminists. I’ve always admired your mom for being a sweet lady, with so much faith, not a nasty woman.” That last hateful comment is best read in Gollum’s voice. We hope that Rain can set aside the hate, though. View Slideshow: Rain Brown: See the Alaskan Bush People Star’s Selfies That Get So Much Hate!

Florida authorities are investigating the possibility of a serial killer in a Tampa, neighborhood after three shooting deaths within the last two weeks prompted the community into high alert. Families make final arrangements after Seminole Heights murders. #SeminoleHeightsKiller https://t.co/gd7GBExswb pic.twitter.com/I70Ruda1s9 — ABC Action News (@abcactionnews) October 23, 2017 According to PEOPLE , the three victims who were either Black or Latino, were fatally shot over the course of 11 days in a Seminole Heights neighborhood. Though the victims had no familiarity with one another, all their deaths occurred within half a mile. Authorities believe one assailant shot all of the victims, but currently have no suspect or motive, USA Today reports. “Through the proximity and the time frame, they are related,” Tampa interim Police Chief Brian Dugan said during a Friday press conference. “There is no doubt in our minds about that.” The first victim,  22-year old Benjamin Mitchell , was struck on October 9 near a bus stop by his home. Police believe Mitchell was alone at the time of the shooting. On October 11  Monica Caridad Hoffa , 32, was shot and killed 10 blocks from Mitchell. Her body was discovered in an empty grassy plot owned by the city of Tampa. The last victim, 20 year-old  Anthony Taino Naiboa, was fatally shot on October 19, just 100 yards from Mitchell. According to authorities, Naiboa suffered from autism and mistakenly took the wrong bus home from his job. They killed him just for nothing,” Naiboa’s father Anthony said during a Sunday vigil for his son. “Like he’s not a human, like he’s nothing.” Community members spoke with USA Today to express the constant state of anguish and fear of a killer on the loose. “We don’t open the door or nothing. A lot of people are scared,” Maria Maldonado, who resides near where two of the shootings to place , said to the outlet.  “I’m scared for my son, for the neighborhood, she continued. City officials and authorities have put in safety guards until the shooter is found. Police are escorting children to school and have warned community members not to walk alone at night. Several law enforcement groups such as the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are helping with the investigation, USA today reports. “There aren’t a lot of facts, or evidence, yet,” Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn said in an interview with the outlet. “We’re going to find this guy and we’re not leaving this neighborhood till we do.” The recent shooting spree in Florida is eerily similar to a 2016 case in Phoenix, Arizona , where several victims of color were gunned down in a small Maryvale neighborhood. Caitlin McHugh: Engaged to John Stamos!!!!!!!!!!

In the video above, John Stamos helps a man propose to his girlfriend. It’s very funny and extremely romantic. The beloved former Full House star, however, needed no assistance from any other attractive actor in order to pop a very similar question himself. How do we know this? Because John Stamos is now engaged to Caitlin McHugh!!!!!! The 54-year old stud muffin confirmed this exciting piece of news on Sunday night in positively adorable fashion. Along with a beautiful illustration of a man in a suit and a woman in a dress, the actor wrote the following to his 2.2 million Instagram followers: “I asked…she said yes! …And we lived happily ever after.” In case this message wasn’t clear, Stamos also included an engagement ring emoji. Hooray! Stamos geo-tagged the image from Disneyland (the illustrated couple is standing in front of Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle), making us think he asked for McHugh’s hand in marriage while they were at this very popular locale. Based on many previous social media photos, it’s clear the couple often spends time at The Happiest Place on Earth. They celebrated McHugh’s birthday there in May, for example. Stamos, meanwhile. was previously married to Rebecca Romijnfrom from 1998 through 2005. He and his now-fiancee have been dating since March of last year. As for where you may know McHugh from? The brunette actress has appeared in The Vampire Diaries and in Switched at Birth, while also earning a role in the Will Smith movie, Am Legend. The occasional model has also has appeared on an episode of ABC’s Castle on a 2011 installment  of Law & Order: SVU. And while millions of women around the world may now be sad that Stamos is spoken for, the actor can at least take solace in knowing McHugh is very welcome on the set of Fuller House. “They all love her more than me. They’re like, ‘Is Caitlin coming?'” he joked to Entertainment Tonight this past spring, adding: “We don’t care about you, is Caitlin coming?'” Earlier this year, the happy couple completed a short film titled Ingenueish, which Stamos directed and in which McHugh starred. “They say if you can do a film together, you can do anything together,” the actress quipped at the time, adding: “I’m very happy to say we survived the filming process and we’re in editing now. We’re both still alive so it’s great!” And we’re so very happy for these gorgeous stars!

Source: Slaven Vlasic / Getty Via | HipHopDX NEW YORK, NY –  Following RZA’s interview with  The Breakfast Club  earlier this week, the  Wu-Tang Clan  vet’s publicist has issued a statement to clarify RZA’s involvement in a 2016 incident involving Azealia Banks and actor Russell Crowe. During the new interview, RZA claimed Crowe “spit at” Banks at a Beverly Hills hotel last October, a detail he left out from his 2016 statement about the incident. Subsequently, Banks took to social media to shame RZA for being a “liar” and said she hoped he’d drop dead. “The derogatory posts against my client RZA by Azealia Banks is unwarranted and beyond that — unbecoming,” the publicist’s statement reads via  NME.  “RZA, from the moment he met Ms. Banks, bet on her to win.  So much so that when others felt she would be too much trouble to work with on the film  Love Beats Rhyme ,  he disregarded what had been said and looked beyond her well-documented controversies moving forward with securing her as his lead.” The statement continued, “Her introduction to Russell Crowe at his private party resulted in Banks going on a salacious mission to disparage him and RZA. Playing the race card and anything else she could.” Finish this story [ here ]

He usually cranks out a smash hit record every summer such as “Fck The Rap Game”, “Run It Up” & “My Partna Dem” (Rich Kidz). Although he has an extensive resume including features with every major rapper in the industry, Jose Guapo is extremely underrated yet feels that he is more relevant than most 1 hit wonder artists such as YC. “It’s not a question that I’m underrated & I don’t get the credit I deserve, somebody tryna’ blackball me”. Although he labels Gucci Mane as the Trap God, and Future the GOAT, Jose Guapo credits T.I. as the innovator of trap music and admits that Gucci may be interested in signing him to 1017 Eskimo Records. Jose Guapo also gave his opinion on mumble rap and mentioned that Young Thug is the only artist who he would consider a mumble rapper and has no issues understanding other rappers such as Migos, Future, & Lil Uzi Vert who are usually thought of as mumble rappers. Lastly, Jose Guapo opened up about his frustrations with the music industry and addresses past beefs with 2 Chainz & Young Dro. Guapo wants his fans to know he is more mature and that real men cry. ‘Mudbound’ Dares To Explore the Often Silenced Topic of Black Male PTSD

(Jason Mitchell, director Dee Rees, Rob Morgan, Carey Mulligan, Mary J. Blige and Garrett Hedlund attend the ‘Mudbound’ Premiere on day 3 of the 2017 Sundance Film Festival at Eccles Center Theatre on January 21, 2017 in Park City, Utah. Source: Nicholas Hunt / Getty) Writer/director Dee Rees has been anything but predictable. She became a household name in 2011 with her first feature-length film Pariah , a gutting coming-of-age narrative about a young woman grappling with her sexuality. Then she turned around and took the small screen by storm with the triumphant story of iconic blues singer Bessie Smith in Bessie —which racked up more than one million viewers in its premiere. She even managed to helm a few documentary films and grace the director’s chair of the hit FOX series Empire in between projects. But even though her projects run the gamut, there is one recognizable theme that connects each of them, something we rarely see from other filmmakers. Rees boldly dismantles our most uncomfortable truths and interrogates why they remain hidden. Her latest drama, Mudbound , is no different. Set along an indistinct American South after World War II, the movie tells the story of a black family and a white family, whose disparate vantage points illuminate a racist society that has affected them both in deeply profound ways. They’re given equal agency and layers, and are written with the same level of compassion that seeps through each of the performances. So much so that the question is no longer about who is oppressed and who is the oppressor. It presents a more complex narrative that explores the effects of war across racial lines—through these two families whose steadfast hope is destroyed once they’re shown how little their world has changed when their loved ones return from battle and are unable to navigate the harsh realities they once could. The story opens with the McAllan family, Laura (Carey Mulligan) and Henry (Jason Clarke), a young couple who have recently arrived from Memphis with dreams of more land and a better life for his growing family. But as soon as they get there, with his spiteful father Pappy (Jonathan Banks) in tow, both husband and wife learn that they haven’t moved any further away from struggle. They have to get the house out of the clutches of the swindler they bought it from; their once promising land is actually infertile; and Laura is stuck in a house with a dutiful yet loveless man and his oppressive father. They can only anticipate that the return of Henry’s brother, Jamie (Garrett Hedlund), and the conclusion of the war, will help them realize a new reality for themselves. Just miles down the road is the Jackson family, headed by Florence and Hap (Mary J. Blige and Rob Morgan). They’re sharecroppers on the McAllan land who become the white family’s natural default for any extra support they need—for the land or otherwise. Florence takes care of the little McAllan kids when they get whopping cough. Hap has to help out with labor on the land. And their young boys are often beckoned for additional sets of hands. But they have their own aspirations to consider, keeping a happy home in the midst of racial hierarchal, buying their own property, and paving the way for their children to have a freer life than they have. Inversely from the McAllans, their struggle is dictated by everything and everyone around them, and their home is filled with joy and the security of love. So when their oldest son Ronsel (Jason Mitchell) goes off to fight in the war, they are comforted by the hope they’ve instilled in his heart, and that he’ll come back to a more possible future for himself. The core of the film is what happens when both men return home to a society that has remained remarkably stagnant, and try to navigate the overwhelming desire to be the face of change in a world that wants anything but. Rees, along with the heartbreaking performances of Hedlund and Mitchell, delivers a searing portrayal of post-traumatic stress in a society that failed (and still fails) to acknowledge. The sleepless nights, the alarming recognition that despite the lives they saw wasted on the battlefield—their own just merely escaping—they are still an N-word and a white drifter; a man who can’t even walk through the front door of an establishment without putting his life at risk and the other who tries to drink the memories of war out of his mind every day. Rarely in the black community do we see images of mental health, and even more rarely do we see it in male characters, who are more often portrayed like Hap—who’d rather walk around on a broken leg than have his wife take his place out in the field. It’s the film’s audacity to portray black male vulnerability especially in a historical context that admonished it which makes Mudbound that much more impactful. That and how director/co-writer Rees refuses to back down on present either family’s narrative as a deficit to the other—despite how easy it would have been to do so. Compelling, heartbreaking, and bold, Mudbound is an absolute must-see.
