Kristen Stewart As A ‘Breaking Dawn’ Vampire ‘Scared Me,’ Elizabeth Reaser Says

‘Twilight’ co-star tells MTV News, ‘I thought, ‘This might not end well. She’s looking pretty pissed right now.’ ‘ By Terri Schwartz Elizabeth Reaser Photo: MTV News PARK CITY, Utah — Ever since Kristen Stewart spilled the beans at the that she had been filming “Breaking Dawn” as a vampire that day, it’s all we can think about when we get the chance to talk to one of her “Twilight Saga” co-stars. Elizabeth Reaser, who plays Esme Cullen in the film franchise, teased at the Sundance Film Festival this week that there have been some crazy vampire scenes on set recently. “There’s been some really cool stuff in the Cullen house with Bella,” Reaser revealed to MTV News. “There’s been some interesting transformations happening.” Sounds to us like director Bill Condon has been filming the famous “Breaking Dawn” birthing scene, and that Reaser got a chance to see Bella’s transformation into a vampire. already shared that the birthing scene will be shown from Bella’s perspective to keep with the film’s PG-13 rating , but as Reaser witnessed the whole scene unfold, what was her impression of Stewart’s transformation? “She scared me a little bit on Thursday, I’ll be honest with you,” Reaser said. “Because when vampires are newborns, they’re stronger than any other vampires, so for a second there I thought, ‘This might not end well. She’s looking pretty pissed right now.’ It was great.” Reaser’s praise of Stewart’s performance as vampire Bella matches with what co-stars Robert Pattinson and Peter Facinelli had to say about it at the Golden Globes. Pattinson told MTV News it felt like Stewart “wanted to do it the entire time.” “It’s really funny, it’s like a completely different environment on set when she’s a vampire and when she’s not,” he said. “I think she’s going to do it really well.” In the books, Bella becomes much more confident after transforming into a vampire, so it’s fitting that Stewart is coming into her own with the role. Facinelli jokingly credited vampire contact lenses as the real reason Stewart is doing so much better. “She’s doing really well. She looks fantastic,” Facinelli raved. “For some reason, once they put those contact lenses in, you look very statuesque.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Are You Looking Forward to a Bunch of Homophobic Super Bowl Commercials?

I hate this. I hate the Super Bowl. Hate it. Worst of all, I hate the cavalcade of expensive, often-offensive commercials that come with the Super Bowl. Extended families and fraternities and crochet klatches gather for the big event, and what do they see? Unabashedly gay-unfriendly commercials like the following Doritos ads , which are being considered for air. Look, straight people doing suggestively gay things — but for your amusement! Comedy! I hate this.

Now Even the Pope is On the Social Network Bandwagon

Might The Social Network be God’s choice to win Best Picture? “Entering cyberspace,” Pope Benedict said today in an address essentially giving his blessing to social networking, “can be a sign of an authentic search for personal encounters with others, provided that attention is paid to avoiding dangers such as enclosing oneself in a sort of parallel existence, or excessive exposure to the virtual world. In the search for sharing, for ‘friends,’ there is the challenge to be authentic and faithful, and not give in to the illusion of constructing an artificial public profile for oneself.” Huh. I always took him for more of a Black Swan guy. [ Reuters ]

Danny Glover Reacts To News Of ‘Lethal Weapon’ Reboot

‘I like what we’ve done before in the past,’ actor tells MTV News at Sundance. By Aly Semigran Danny Glover Photo: MTV News It’s been nearly 13 years since the fourth and seemingly final “Lethal Weapon” movie was released in theaters. But it was recently reported by Deadline.com that Warner Bros., along with producer Joel Silver, has sought out writer Will Beall to make a reboot of the action/ comedy franchise with an entirely new cast. While in the past there had been talks of a possible “Lethal Weapon 5,” featuring the original cast and reportedly to be penned by Shane Black, conflicting schedules as well as Mel Gibson’s shattered public image had shelved it for the time being. MTV News caught up with one of the series’ stars, Danny Glover, at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival on Friday to discuss the news of a remake. The 64-year-old actor, who said he hadn’t heard anything about it yet, channeled his character, Roger Murtaugh, as he said with a laugh, “I’m too old for this!” Glover, who was attending Sundance to screen his latest film, “Black Power Mixtape,” went on to talk about Mel Gibson , his onscreen partner in crime (fighting) from the original blockbusters. “I thought it was, for me and Mel, a wonderful journey,” he said of his troubled co-star, adding, “I love Mel. Mel’s my friend.” As for a potential reboot, Glover said, “I’d like to think that the four we did were still magical and people will still reference the four ‘Lethal Weapon’ [films],” adding, “I like what we’ve done before in the past.” Glover also seemed skeptical about a reboot without director Richard Donner, who directed all four films, at the helm. “Dick Donner is the one who’s behind all this. Dick Donner is the one. He’s really the magic behind this [franchise],” Glover said. “There’s no way this could have been done, the four ‘Lethal Weapon’ movies, without Richard Donner.” Glover continued to praise his former director, saying Donner allowed him and his co-stars “the space for us to … create the kind of relationships, touch the human relationships that we did in that movie.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . The 9 Batsh*t-Craziest Lines Heard at the Hobo with a Shotgun Premiere

“Let’s tear this place apart!” So instructed director Jason Eisener before Friday’s midnight premiere of Hobo with a Shotgun , the unabashedly campy Canadian-American grindhouse flick about a homeless drifter who cleans up the streets of a depraved urban metropolis with only a pawn shop shotgun and plenty of gloriously insane death-dealing catchphrases in his arsenal. And while it may have disappointed Eisener and Co. that an actual riot didn’t erupt before or after their film, they must have been pleased that Hobo played exactly right to just the genre-loving crowd it was made for.
