Kim Kardashian A ‘Stunning’ Bride, Julianne Hough Says

‘Footloose’ star and Ryan Seacrest’s girlfriend says Kim’s nephew Mason ‘stole the show’ as the wedding’s ring bearer. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Matt Elias Kim Kardashian Photo: Jason LaVeris/ FilmMagic Kim Kardashian’s friends and family are gushing over the reality starlet’s headline-making nuptials last weekend. Kardashian and the New Jersey Nets’ Kris Humphries tied the knot in front of family and friends like Eva Longoria, Demi Lovato, Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough, who recalled her favorite moment from the ceremony to MTV News. “The dresses were so gorgeous, and watching those beautiful girls walk down the aisle … they are absolutely stunning,” gushed the “Footloose” star, whose beau, Seacrest, executive produces the many Kardashian-centric shows on E! “To just see them walking down the aisle was just beautiful,” she continued. “And then little Mason, Kourtney’s little boy, he kind of stole the show.” In footage released from the ceremony, little Mason, the ring bearer, was having some issues walking down the aisle to hand off the bling to his aunt and new uncle. “The pillow and the rings; the walking and the running back and forth — it was very, very sweet,” Hough said. “Very cute.” Another Kardashian bestie , “The Spin Crowd” star Jonathan Cheban, dished to MTV News about the wedding too “Just watching Kim walk down the aisle was probably the best thing ever,” Cheban said. “It was ‘wow.’ She looked gorgeous, and the whole thing was huge. There were helicopters flying, so you couldn’t really hear that much. As everyone got to see her at different moments, when she walked by, I was so happy for her.” Kris and Kim recently embarked on a honeymoon in Italy before they return Stateside, where Kim is slated to present at the VMAs this Sunday in L.A. Her New York friends will throw the couple a party back in the Big Apple nest week, where she’s set to film another season of “Kim & Kourtney Take New York.” E! will air “Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event” on October 9 and 10. Lil Wayne Tour Evolves With ‘So Much’ New Music

‘He’s releasing song after song after song,’ musical director Gil Smith tells MTV News of evolving I Am Still Music Tour. By Rob Markman Lil Wayne Photo: Kevin Winter/Getty Images Lil Wayne is constantly evolving. From a 12-year-old kiddie MC, to the self-proclaimed “best rapper alive” to rock star and now R&B singer, Weezy has kept things interesting during the course of his 14-year career. His I Am Still Music Tour has been just as prolific, thanks to the mass amount of music he’s been releasing. And with his ninth solo album, Tha Carter IV, dropping at midnight after Sunday’s VMAs — where Wayne will also perform — concertgoers can expect some changes to the set list. “I think just in terms of the tour, we’ve been adding songs here and there,” Wayne’s musical director Gil Smith told MTV News. “You gotta understand with Wayne, there is so much music. I mean, we can talk about Tha Carter IV, and then we can sit down and have a different conversation about Sorry 4 the Wait, which was a whole different thing that he put out. So it’s so much music. Even when we’re on the road, he’s releasing song after song after song, so we got to kind of find ways to incorporate that as we go along.” When he and his Young Money compadres opened the tour in May in Providence Rhode Island, Wayne hadn’t yet released his fan-dedicated tape Sorry 4 the Wait, and Tha Carter IV was in release-date limbo. During the course of the concert run, which was extended through September, Wayne released the mixtape and a number of C4 singles. Smith said that by the time the tour wraps, the first show will be much different from the last. It’s not just the music, either. “It’s changed quite a bit. Now he’s skating around the stage, he has a skateboard trainer who’s out there with him,” Smith said. “He’s really into skateboarding, and he’s also into singing for the ladies. There’s a section of the tour that’s dedicated to that, and that’s how we kind of incorporated ‘How to Love,’ along with some other favorites.” Wayne will grace the stage this Sunday at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, and while Smith wouldn’t reveal what the YMCMB star has planned , he said fans can expect a Weezy they’ve never seen. “We’ve been brainstorming and taking from things that we put together on the road, so I think they can just expect a new-and-improved Wayne, a different Wayne,” he said. “You know, he always comes different: One day he’s a rock star, one day he’s a skater; he’s singing R&B. I think we can expect a little bit of everything in this performance.” The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live Sunday from Los Angeles at 9 p.m. ET/PT, following the Selena Gomez-hosted pre-show at 8. Pitbull Invites Lindsay Lohan To The VMAs

As Lohan sues him over the lyrics to ‘Give Me Everything,’ the rapper extends an olive branch. By James Montgomery Pitbull Photo: Michael Loccisano/Getty Images Pitbull and Lindsay Lohan may currently be at odds over the lyrics of “Give Me Everything,” but the rapper has extended an olive branch to the oft-troubled actress … in the form of an invitation to this Sunday’s . That’s what Mr. 305 said in a statement posted Thursday (August 25) on his Planet Pit website , in which he addressed the lawsuit Lohan filed last week that alleges the lyrics of his hit — in particular, the line “I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan” — are “destined to do irreparable harm” to the actress’ career. Pit want it known that he hopes the two sides can hash out their differences at the VMAs. “We’ll be performing [‘Give Me Everything] at the VMAs , and, as a matter of fact, I’d like to send out an invitation to Lindsay Lohan,” Pitbull said. “Hopefully she can come with me to the VMAs, and we can figure this out.” Pitbull also said he was “very surprised” when he first learned of the lawsuit, especially since he considers “Give Me Everything” — and his mention of Lohan — to be positive. “It was very ironic, to be honest with you. At first I read it and I was like, ‘Nah, this has got to be a joke,’ [but] come to find out it’s very realistic,” he said. “Me being someone who supports Lindsay Lohan’s career, where I’ve seen her go through everything she’s gone through, and everything that has to do with this record is so positive — you see the way I start off the record, where I say, ‘I took my life from negative to positive/ I just want y’all to know that’ — when I mention Lindsay Lohan in the record, it was really a positive message. “[The lyric] is ‘Hustlers move in silence, so I’m tip-toeing/ So keep blowing, got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan,’ ” Pitbull continued. “When I say I got it locked up, if you’re from the neighborhood, when they say, ‘You got it locked up’ that means you run that area.” And as far as Lohan’s claims that the song has caused her — and her career — irreparable harm, Pitbull said that he never intended to hurt anybody … quite the opposite, in fact. “In no way, shape or form would I want to bring that on anybody. I didn’t look to defame, degrade or hurt someone’s career,” he said. “For me, mentioning it on a number one record around the world, I thought it would be helping someone’s career, and keeping them relevant. We mention people’s names all the time; when it comes to rapping, it’s always about double meanings and metaphors and how you flip certain things.” Pitbull added that he’s not sure what the next step in the legal process would be (“That has to come with the attorneys,” he said). But who knows? Perhaps things will be patched up after Sunday’s VMAs. “It shows that success comes with a whole lot,” Pit said. “And I always say, as hard as you work to succeed in this music business, there’s four or five people working harder to take it all away from you.” The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live Sunday, August 28, from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles at 9 p.m. ET/PT, following the Selena Gomez-hosted pre-show at 8. Al Pacino Thanks Rappers For ‘Scarface’ Revival

‘I think they’ve helped us tremendously,’ actor tells MTV News of hip-hop community’s support of 1983 movie. By Rob Markman Al Pacino Photo: MTV News LOS ANGELES — Hard to believe, but when Brian De Palma’s “Scarface” was released in 1983, it wasn’t the beloved cult classic it is now. Critics panned the underworld drama in which actor Al Pacino played Tony Montana, a Cuban refugee who went from dishwasher to cocaine drug lord. Today, the film lives in infamy with its ultra-violent-yet-indelible scenes and quotable one-liners like “Say hello to my little friend.” Most of the appreciation and film’s support has come from rappers, a fact not lost on Pacino. “The hip-hop people and the rappers got together and they made a video and they talked about the movie. I don’t think anybody’s ever talked about it as articulately and clearly. I understood it better having heard them talk about it,” Pacino told MTV News on the red carpet for a party celebrating the Blu-ray release for “Scarface” on Tuesday night. “I mean, they really get it and they understand it, and that’s a great thing. They’ve been very supportive all these years. I think they’ve helped us tremendously.” The documentary Pacino referred to is 2003’s “Scarface: Origins of a Hip-Hop Classic.” In it, rappers like Diddy, Nas and Snoop Dogg analyze the movie’s impact. The 71-year-old actor likens rap’s affinity for his film with his appreciation for the 1932 original version of “Scarface.” “When I saw it for the first time — and I don’t mean mine, I mean Paul Muni’s from [the] 1930s — I had that feeling about it too,” he said. “Anything when the hero is just reaching for something.” Ultimately, Pacino believes the appeal of his character lies in his desire to make something out of nothing — a mantra rappers have been preaching since the 1980s. “Man’s reach should exceed his grasp, or what’s a heaven for? That’s a great expression, and I think that’s Tony Montana,” Pacino poetically explained. “Reaching for something he can’t get but he keeps going. There is an element of hope in it, believe it or not.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Scarface.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .

Lil Wayne Musical Director Teases ‘Rock Star’ VMA Set

‘Knowing Wayne, he might just stroll across the stage on a skateboard,’ Gil Smith laughs to MTV News. By Rob Markman Lil Wayne Photo: MTV Forget “How to Love,” Lil Wayne sure knows how to seize a moment. On Sunday, Weezy will hit up the VMAs in hopes of scoring a Moonman for his “6 Foot 7 Foot” video. He’ll also grace the stage for a performance , and then about an hour after the big show wraps, the Young Money CEO will release his highly anticipated Tha Carter IV album at midnight . Big night, indeed. As for rocking the VMA stage, with such an extensive catalog, Lil Tunechi could go for any number of songs. Will he croon out “How to Love,” or invite Drake onstage for their recently released C4 single “She Will” ? Maybe Wayne will do a medley that includes Rick Ross for a performance of “John” and DJ Khaled for “I’m On One.” There are so many possibilities. Weezy’s musical director Gil Smith wouldn’t confirm any specific details, but he hinted to MTV News that the multifaceted rapper might pull any combination of tricks from his sleeve. “We’ve been brainstorming and taking from things that we put together on the road, so I think they can just expect a new and improved Wayne, a different Wayne,” Smith said. “You know, he always comes different: one day he’s a rock star, one day he’s a skater; he’s singing R&B. I think we can expect a little bit of everything in this performance.” Smith, who has been touring with Wayne since 2008, helps the “A Milli” MC realize his tour dreams and heads the live band on the I Am Still Music Tour . But one thing he hasn’t helped Wayne with is his skills on the skateboard. This past Sunday, the rapper took a spill while skating and had to get nine stitches. He isn’t shying away from the half-pipe, however. “Thx to u all for the concern but pls know that I will eventually take even harder falls if I wanna get better,” he tweeted a day after the accident. So maybe Wayne will dust himself off and kick-push his way across the VMA stage. “You know what? He just might. Knowing Wayne, he might just stroll across the stage on a skateboard,” Smith said with a chuckle. “I wouldn’t be surprised if he did it.” What do you hope Wayne performs at Sunday’s VMAs? Bruno Mars’ VMA-Nominated ‘Grenade’: Road To Video Of The Year

Clip also nominated for Best Male Video and Best Pop Video at Sunday’s 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. By Jocelyn Vena Bruno Mars in his “Grenade” music video Photo: Elektra Records For Bruno Mars ‘ deeply personal breakup track “Grenade,” the pop crooner hooked up with a man who truly understands dark images: Australian music video director Nabil Elderkin, who has cooked up clips for the likes of Kanye West, Frank Ocean, Diddy and will.i.am. The duo created a clip that mirrors the heartache of the song, where Mars sings about loving someone who won’t love him back. The video dropped in November and has racked up hundreds of millions of views online. It’s also up for three Moonmen at Sunday’s 2011 MTV Video Music Awards , including Best Male Video, Best Pop Video and Video of the Year. For those who have yet to check out the video, Mars pines over a lovely young lady. To prove his love for her, he puts on his Sunday best and drags his piano across Los Angeles, meeting up with unsavory characters along the way. When he does finally get to his beloved’s house, he sees that she is hooking up with another fellow. Heartbroken, he drags his piano away from the home, up one very difficult hill and ends up at a railroad track. Does a completely devastated Mars get hit by the train? Well, that’s the video’s great, deep, dark mystery. “It was my concept,” the singer told MTV News earlier this month. “I said, ‘I want to drag a piano.’ I got my friend Nabil to come direct it, and it was a risk because I still hear jokes to this day like, ‘What the hell you doing dragging a piano?’ ” he said. “But it’s my art, so shut up!” Mars, who hit the stage with B.o.B at the 2010 VMAs , is pretty stoked about having the video make the final cut as one of the nominees for Video of the Year . “I grew up watching VMAs. I know every performance,” Mars said. “Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been watching MTV VMAs, and when we got the phone call saying that my video was up for Video of the Year, that’s the big-boy award.” Mars is also up for a Best Choreography VMA for his much-more-fun “The Lazy Song” clip. He’s also set to take the stage as one of Sunday night’s performers . The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live Sunday from Los Angeles at 9 p.m. ET/PT, following the Selena Gomez-hosted pre-show at 8.
