Justin Bieber Is On The Brink Of Superstardom In ‘Diary,’ Producer Says

Special follows the teen ‘right before it got ridiculous for him,’ says Andrew Huang. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber Photo: MTV News & Docs Justin Bieber certainly knows how to make the girls scream. In his episode of “Diary,” set to air this Sunday at 7:30 p.m., it is clear that the dedication his fans have for him is similar what previous generations of girls felt for their teen idols. Andrew Huang, director and supervising Producer for the special, described the “frenzy” around Bieber as almost identical to one that surrounded Backstreet Boys and ‘NSYNC back in the day. In February, Huang shadowed Bieber for four days in Paris and New York, and he said that he feels that the show captures a very specific moment in Bieber’s career. “The thing that’s interesting about his show is we caught him right before … He’s big, yeah, but we caught him [in the transition],” Huang said. “His life is never going to be the same. He’s never going to be able to walk down the street like that. I don’t think so, because now he’s just like blown up even more, so that’s why I’m really happy we caught that time in his life right before it got ridiculous for him.” So, what will fans learn from Bieber’s “Diary”? “He’s a prankster. All he does is joke around, and he likes to have a good time,” Huang said. “He likes to keep the mood light, but at the same time, he’s young and he’s asked to do a lot. It’s a grueling schedule being an entertainer, but he wasn’t groomed like the Jonas Brothers, I don’t think. It’s all relatively new to him, so to be out there every single day, it was not easy for him. [But] he seemed pretty into it.” And while Bieber’s life is mostly all business, fans will also get to see him in his rare down time. “That particular day was like a gift for him because he hadn’t done that stuff in a while,” Huang said of the scene in which Bieber shows off his basketball skills . “That’s why he went all out. He finally got a play day, and I was impressed by his athletic abilities because he’s a little kid. He’s tiny.” After spending so much time with the kid, Huang admitted to catching a little bit of Bieber fever himself. “I didn’t get him before I started shooting with him,” he said. “But as the week progressed, I was like, ‘Whoa, this kid is no joke. He’s gifted.’ I was impressed. He’s definitely very special. … After this week, his life is never going to be the same. We caught the last glimpse of him being a star, and now he’s going to be a superstar.” Are you Justin Bieber’s biggest fan ? Enter our contest now to win an autographed hat and CD. Muslims slaughter Christians in central Nigeria

200 – 500 people, most of them Christians, were slaughtered on Sunday in central Nigeria. Muslims with machetes came from the nearby hills early Sunday morning. Hundreds of villagers, including women and children, were hacked to death or burned in their homes. The city of Jos, in central Nigeria, has become an explosive fault line between the country's Muslim dominated north and predominantly Christian south. The killings occurred in three villages in and around Dogo Nahawa, three miles south of the region's main city of Jos. The violence comes after sectarian killings in January left more than 300 dead, most of them Muslim. Sunday's bloodshed appears to be reprisal attacks. http://www.examiner.com/x-10853-Portland-Humanist-Examiner~y2010m3d8-Religion-Mu… added by: locutus
