Lil Wayne ‘You & I’ Sneak Peek Hits The Net

Hot 97 DJ Funkmaster Flex previews melodic track believed to be from DJ Drama and DJ Woogie mixtape. By Jayson Rodriguez Lil Wayne Photo: C. Flanigan/ Getty Images Lil Wayne made the transition from star to superstar with his extraordinary work ethic, releasing a slew of mixtape material and reaching the tipping point with 2008’s Tha Carter III. Since his release from prison late last year, however, the Cash Money Records artist has been conservative about putting out new official offerings, aside from his own “6 Foot 7 Foot.” But a snippet of a new Weezy track, “You & I,” surfaced online on Thursday (February 24) and it appears to be from a forthcoming DJ Drama and DJ Woogie mixtape. “All we do is fuss and f— / Over this and that and such and such,” Wayne raps on the number. “Man, I think I gotta toughen up/ Love knocks you down/ And it feels like I been sucker-punched/ But I love her like new money/ I ain’t going nowhere like Al Bundy/ I’m like how can I leave her?/ Love is a bitch but everybody need her/ Inhale, exhale, I just need a breather/ Call a timeout and watch the cheerleaders/ And when I’m not feeling the same, I just drive my Bugatti down memory lane/ And come back to you.” In addition to “”6 Foot” and “You & I,” Wayne has loaned his rhymes to a remix of Bruno Mars’ “Grenade” , Birdman’s “Fire Flame” and a Super Bowl edition of Wiz Khalifa’s “Black and Yellow.” Wayne is scheduled to debut his “6 Foot 7 Foot” video on MTV soon. R.I.P.: Former Chicago Bears Player Dave Duerson Dead At 50

Dave Duerson, a key player on the 1985 Super Bowl champion Chicago Bears, was found dead Thursday night in his Miami home at the age of 50. The Miami Dade County coroner did not state a cause of death. News of Duerson’s passing sent shock waves through the 1985 team. When newly elected Hall of Famer Richard Dent woke up Friday morning, his voice mail was full of messages from former teammates calling to talk about Duerson. Several teammates said they had spoken with Duerson in recent weeks. “When we spoke recently, he sounded great,” former Bears defensive back Shaun Gayle said. “It’s a real shock to all of the guys.” Duerson was selected by the Bears out of Notre Dame in the third round of the 1983 draft. He became a starter in 1985 and played in the first of four consecutive Pro Bowls that year. In 1987, he was named the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year. He also was the one of the Bears’ NFLPA representatives, and he was a leader through the 1987 strike. “He was a hell of a football player,” former Bears coach Mike Ditka said Friday. “He came in at the right time for us because that’s when Todd Bell held out. He fit right in, became a starter. We liked everything about him at Notre Dame. He rounded out that defense. He fit in perfectly with Gary Fencik back there and was one of the leaders of our team.” The Bears released Duerson after the 1989 season. He signed with the Giants and won a Super Bowl in his only season with the team. He finished out his career playing three seasons for the Phoenix Cardinals. After growing up in Muncie, Ind., he was a four-year starter at Notre Dame and a two-time All American. In 1982, he was a Fighting Irish captain. He was named first-team All-America pick as a senior by the Football Writers Association of America, Football News and College & Pro Football Newsweekly. As a junior in ’81 he earned third-team All-America honors from Football News. “Our hearts go out to the Duerson family and to all those who knew Dave,” Notre Dame vice president and athletics director Jack Swarbrick said in a statement. “In addition to being a great football player, Dave represented himself and the University in so many other ways as a team captain, as well as through his work with the Monogram Club and the Board of Trustees. You couldn’t help but be impressed by him when you met Dave Duerson, and I think that was thereaction from anyone who was ever around him.” After his football career ended, Duerson’s life took some harsh turns. He became owner of Brooks Sausage Company, which later changed its name to Fair Oaks Farms. The company supplied sausage to Burger King and other fast food chains. Under Duerson’s leadership, Fair Oaks grew its annual sales to $63.5 million from $24 million. He sold his stake in the company in 2002, and started Duerson Foods. That company was forced into receivership in 2006, and most of its assets were auctioned off. Duerson had his Highland Park home foreclosed in 2007. In retirement, he also butted heads with Ditka about disability benefits for former NFL players. In 2007, Duerson filed for divorce from his wife of 24 years. The year before, he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery. Duerson subsequently lost his position as a University of Notre Dame trustee. His former wife Alicia Duerson told NBCChicago, “Our family asks that you please remember Dave as a good, kind and caring man. He loved and cherished his family and friends and was extremely proud of his beloved Notre Dame and … Chicago Bears. Please keep Dave and our family in your prayers.” Duerson was a consultant in Florida, and was hosting an Internet radio show called “Double Time with Double D,” on VoiceAmerica.com. He broadcast his final show Thursday. He is survived by four children. R.I.P. Source

‘Transformers: Dark Of The Moon’ Is ‘Epic,’ Michael Bay Says

‘It takes awhile to get it right,’ director tells MTV News of ‘Dark of the Moon.’ By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Kara Warner Optimus Prime in “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” Photo: DreamWorks Michael Bay has been admirably open about what he — and many fans of his “Transformers” franchise — view as the second film’s failings resulting from a rushed, post-writers’-strike production schedule. And he’s promised to right those cinematic wrongs with the third installment in the series, “Transformers: Dark of the Moon.” Early looks at footage from the upcoming action flick — a tantalizing teaser trailer and a balletic Super Bowl spot — seem to indicate he’s accomplished that goal. “I think it takes awhile to get it right,” he explained to MTV News on Wednesday night at the red-carpet premiere of “I Am Number Four,” which he produced. “I think we did not want the third one to suck.” The problem with 2009’s “Revenge of the Fallen,” Bay once again pointed out, is that the writers’ strike left the production hardly any time to nail down a script. The filmmakers found themselves essentially trying to create a story line in the edit room, rather than on the page before shooting began. “The second one, we had a tough go,” Bay told us. “It was a very, very tough thing to make a movie under those circumstances. It affected a lot of Hollywood at that time.” This time around, Bay said, “We worked extra hard” and struck upon “a better story.” “It’s epic and it happens in a city,” he added. “It’s more accessible because you recognize stuff — it’s not in a desert. It’s kind of like ‘Black Hawk Down’ with our small group of heroes in a city.” On the carpet, Bay also briefly touched on two new alien bots set to debut in “Dark of the Moon.” “Sentinel Prime is great. He’s great,” he said. “I can’t tell you anything else, other than he’s great.” And about the villain Shockwave, Bay say, “He’s bad,” adding that compared to Megatron, “He’s got a much bigger gun [and is] a little bit more vicious.” Though Bay is certain he’s got a winner on his hands, the director maintained that “Dark of the Moon” will be his final “Transformers” film. “It does have an end, yes,” he said. “Because I am finished doing this.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Transformers: Dark of the Moon.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .
