Georgia Court Hit Bow Wow With Judgment For Sports Car Lease Bow Wow is pulling out all the legal stops to get out of paying a more than half a million dollar judgment over a debt to a sports car leasing company. Bow Wow said in legal docs that Sports Leasing Inc. was harassing his employer, CBS, for his salary info in order to pay a more than $500,000 default judgment that the rapper claims is invalid, according to court papers obtained by BOSSIP. Sport Leasing Inc. sued the rapper turned actor back in 2009 for not paying it back $216,084 plus interest after agreeing to lease some of their luxury sports cars. Bow Wow – real name Shad Moss – never responded to the lawsuit in Gwinnett County, Ga. Superior Court, and a judge later ruled in favor of Sport Leasing and put Bow Wow in default for $216,084, plus $41,879 in interest, an additional 18 percent in interest each year, and $25,821 in lawyers fees. The case remained in legal limbo for several years until last month, when a collection agency for Sport Leasing subpoenaed Bow Wow’s employer, CBS, demanding to know how much Bow Wow got paid from the TV show “CSI: Cyber.” The agency also wanted Bow Wow’s contract details, how much money he earned from the show to date and how much in royalties CBS was paying the rapper.
Former Black Cop Suspected Of Faking Racist Letter Wow. This guy is an embarrassment to the race. Like it’s not bad enough for those folks out there actually being discriminated against we got people like this guy making up ish… According to NY Daily News reports : Clive Higgins, 50, of Naugatuck, was arrested Wednesday after investigators said the letter that was sent to Bridgeport Police Department in Connecticut was a hoax. Back in February, Higgins said he found a letter that made several racist statements, including one that black police officers belong in the toilet. The letter, titled “White Power,” was found in several officers’ mailboxes. Suspiciously, the letter was written on official police department letterhead, which is not available to the general public. Higgins surrendered to state police Wednesday morning and was charged with second-degree false reporting of an incident. He was released and is due to appear in Superior Court on Dec. 16, according to Fox 61 News. SMH. What do you think an appropriate punishment would be? We’re guessing homeboy got caught because he used the letterhead AND referred to a case that involved HIM! The letter also referenced a highly publicized case involving three police officers, including Higgins. The officers were caught on camera kicking and beating a man in May 2011. Higgins, a 12-year veteran of the department, was the only black officer involved, and was the only officer acquitted of brutality charges. The other two officers, Elson Morales and Joseph Lawlor, pleaded guilty to federal misdemeanors. They resigned from the department and face up to a year in jail. Higgins resigned from the Bridgeport Police Department on July 6. Doesn’t this make you feel angry? Bridgeport Police Department/Connecticut State Police
But…..how????? Woman Gives Birth To Twins From Two Different Dads A shocking paternity case was recently settled after a judge determined that a woman gave birth to twin girls—-with two different fathers. Two of the New Jersey woman’s eggs were fertilized separately by each man after she had intercourse with them in the span of about a week. Yahoo News reports: A paternity case involving a set of twins had a surprise ending worthy of a daytime TV talk show: The girls have different dads. A judge ruled Monday in a paternity case that the man from whom the twins’ mother sought child support has to pay for only one of the children. A DNA test showed that he was almost certainly the father of one twin but wasn’t the father of the other. It’s rare for a woman to give birth to twins with different fathers. Passaic County Superior Court Judge Sohail Mohammad wrote in his opinion that he found two other court cases nationally on such matters. It can happen when the woman has sexual intercourse with two men in the same menstrual cycle and two of her eggs are fertilized separately by each man. The case came to light when a Passaic County woman sought child support payments from a man she thought was the father of her daughters, who were born in January 2013. The DNA test was conducted. In court testimony, the mother said she had sex with both men in a span of about a week. The judge ruled that the man owes $28 per week. Wow! This sounds like something out of a movie.

Man Awarded Millions After Being Wrongfully Convicted & Contracting HIV From Prison Rape A D.C. man who was wrongfully convicted and sent to prison for 22 years over a crime he didn’t commit is finally receiving compensation for all that he has gone though as a result. via Washington Post A D.C. Superior Court judge ordered the District government Friday to pay a record $9.2 million in damages to Kirk L. Odom, 52, who was wrongfully imprisoned for more than 22 years in the rape and robbery of a woman in her Capitol Hill apartment in 1981. The amount, set by Judge Neal E. Kravitz, is the second — and largest — award in a case tried before a District judge under the District’s wrongful conviction law, which was approved in 1980. It also is one of the largest non-jury awards in an exoneration case in the United States. “Mr. Odom spent more than twenty-two years of what should have been the prime of his adult life behind bars for a crime he did not commit,” Kravitz wrote in a 37-page opinion that recounted Odom’s “profound” physical and psychological suffering over the decades that included several prison rapes, his diagnosis with HIV — the virus that causes AIDS — suicide attempts, depression and family estrangement. We’re certainly glad that this man received such a massive amount of compensation, but is there any true justice in cases like these where some has lost half of their life and had their health negatively affected for good??? Sure doesn’t seem like it.

Wow… David Oyelowo Felt The Call of God For His Role in ‘Selma’ David Oyelowo almost didn’t snag the role of Dr. Martin Luther King in ‘Selma,’ but what he felt was a force from above forced him to keep gunning for the part. Via JustJared : David Oyelowo hits the carpet while attending the 2015 National Board of Review Awards Gala held at Cipriani 42nd Street on Tuesday (January 6) in New York City. The 38-year-old English actor was in attendance to support his movie Selma, which won the NBR Freedom of Expression Award. Also attending the event were David‘s Selma co-star Common and director Ava DuVernay, as well as Top Five‘s Chris Rock. David recently opened up about his need to star in the critically acclaimed film. “When I first read the script in 2007, I wouldn’t cast me as Dr. King, between being English and at that point I’ve done very few American movies, but I felt a call of God to do this thing,” he said. Well with a conviction that deep, no wonder he did such an amazing job! Have you seen the movie yet?
Dre about to have to come up off that Beats cash? Jimmy Iovine & Dr. Dre Sued For “Stealing” Beats Technology Looks like those amazing Christmas bonuses Dr. Dre gave his legal team are about to come in extra handy. The rapper, along with business partner Jimmy Iovine, is being sued by Monster for stealing the technology for the wildly successful Beats audio brand and leaving Monster in the dust. Via Forbes : For audio cable company Monster, the wound that Beats Electronics left is years old but still stings like a fresh stab in the back. In a lawsuit filed in San Mateo County Superior Court Tuesday, Monster CEO Noel Lee said that his company was betrayed by Beats Electronics, the company behind “Beats By Dr. Dre” headphones, when the two companies parted ways in 2012, and that Beats has gone on to try to erase Monster’s contribution to its headphones. The suit claims that rapper Andre “ Dr. Dre” Young and music mogul Jimmy Iovine conspired to steal the audio engineering that Monster built for the Beats headphones, which were a joint project. The suit alleges that Monster, not Beats, was primarily responsible for designing the headphones, and after Dre and Iovine severed ties with Monster, they tried to wipe away Monster’s role in Beats’ success. It adds that beyond Dre’s status as a celebrity, his “main contribution was to bless Monster’s headphones when he exclaimed: ‘That’s the s–t!’” While Monster was left trying to build a new product to compete with its own creation – and without the technology that Beats retained control of — Beats continued to succeed. In May, Apple AAPL -0.03% bought the company for $3 billion. Thanks to the sale, Dre walked away with an estimated $650 million before taxes in 2014, which rocketed him to the top of FORBES’ highest-earning musicians list for the year. Yikes! If this case gets proven in court, Dr. Dre might have to finally release that “Detox” album he’s been talking about for the past 15 years to make up for that $600 mil in lost cash…
