SMH Florida Man Faces Murder Charges For Strangling And Throwing Ex-Wife Off Cruise Ship Via AJC A California grand jury has indicted a Florida man on charges he strangled his ex-wife and tossed her off a cruise ship in Italy. Lonnie Kocontes, 55, who used to live in Southern California, was indicted by an Orange County grand jury on Friday and did not enter a plea during his Superior Court arraignment Monday, the Orange County Register ( http://bit.ly/1bP1wIl ) reported. Kocontes remained jailed Tuesday. He is charged with murder for financial gain, which carries a potential death penalty and a minimum sentence of life in prison without chance of parole. Kocontes will try to have the case dismissed at a June 26 hearing, arguing that local authorities lack jurisdiction to prosecute. He and Micki Kanesaki, 52, divorced in 2001 after six years of marriage but continued to live together, off and on, in southern Orange County. They were sharing a cabin during a May 2006 Mediterranean cruise when she went overboard. Her body later washed ashore. Italian police investigated but did not arrest Kocontes. Another investigation began in 2008 after Kocontes began transferring more than $1 million from Kanesaki’s bank accounts into joint accounts he held with his new wife, authorities said. He was arrested in February and pleaded not guilty to murder in May, but the case was dismissed. Prosecutors then moved to refile the charges, and another judge ruled that they could proceed. Last week, prosecutors presented evidence before the grand jury and obtained an indictment. This muhfugga got some nerve, you divorce her, keep living together, steal her money, THEN kill her?! Times A freaky flick actor who works under the name Mr. Marcus and hid the fact he tested positive for syphilis pleaded no contest Tuesday to a misdemeanor charge of exposing another to a communicable disease. Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Catherine Ewell sentenced Jesse Spencer to 30 days in jail, 15 days of community service and three years of probation. He was ordered to obey all laws and not alter or conceal the results of any medical test. In addition, Spencer was arrested 12 days ago on suspicion of drunk driving and was being held on $200,000 bail. Marcus has said that when he got sick, he received a penicillin shot and believed he was free of syphilis. But subsequent to shooting a sex scene, he showed syphilis in his system. Subsequently, the Los Angeles freaky fick industry temporarily shut down in August as a syphilis scare hit the industry and lent impetus to the current condom law. This ninja got off easy if you ask us.

A Phoenix jury Thursday declared that it could not agree on whether to recommend the death penalty or life in prison for convicted murderer Jodi Arias. She was recently found guilty of slaying her lover, Travis Alexander. Jodi Arias, dressed in black, tearfully held her hand to her face as the jury’s decision was read. She has said that she’d welcome the death penalty . She won’t get it from this jury . At least not yet. Superior Court Judge Sherry Stephens set a June 20 hearing to prepare for a penalty-phase retrial. The mistrial doesn’t undermine Jodi Arias’ guilty verdict or murder conviction. This phase is totally separate and devoted only to her punishment. A new jury, possibly in a different city, will be asked to hear testimony only on the penalty issue, unless the prosecutors were to offer her a plea deal. Chris Brown Probation Violation Hearing Pushed Back Until June

Chris Brown was in court Friday to answer accusations that he violated probation by falsifying community service records , but the case was postponed. The D.A. believes Brown may not have properly completed the community labor requirement of his felony assault sentence for beating Rihanna in ’09. Attorney Mark Geragos was seen smiling, his arm around Brown, as he and his client emerged from the judge’s chambers after a 25-minute consult. L.A. Superior Court Judge James Bradlin kicked off the briefest of hearings by announcing that all parties “had a fairly lengthy discussion in chambers.” It’s not clear what was discussed specifically, but they reviewed motions from the D.A’s office and Geragos, as well as supplemental probation reports. Bradlin explained that new discovery – or evidence – had just come in in the form of two thick envelopes, which will be reviewed before the case proceeds. One was from the probation department in Brown’s native Virginia, where he says he completed his 180 days of service, and another from New York. The contents of both envelopes remain sealed at this time, as Bradlin granted a continuance until June 10. Until then, status quo for Brown’s probation. When the controversy arose earlier this year, Brown went off on Instagram , exploding in a tirade … he’s since cooled down considerably in recent weeks. Brown’s mother and a bodyguard accompanied him. Rihanna is on her world tour and couldn’t come … no word on whether she was cheating on him with a girl .

Talk about being caught with your hand in the cookie jar! Via TheSmokingGun A corrections officer has been charged with providing a 22-year-old female inmate with homemade chocolate chip cookies in exchage for sexual contact, police charge. According to a probable cause affidavit, Abner Canda–a 58-year-old guard at the county jail in Everett, Washington–engaged in several sexual interations with the inmate, who is only identified by the initials “C.D.” The woman told investigators that, “I showed him my breasts, willingly for some food” last May. After being released from the jail, she returned to the lockup in October and soon had another illicit encounter with the married Canda, who began working as a corrections officer in 2007. Canda, the inmate said, came to her room in mid-November and “kissed me and touched my breasts and also put his hand down my pants and placed his finger inside of [my vagina],” according to the Superior Court affidavit. On a subsequent occasion, Canda performed oral sex on “C.D.” The inmate told police that, “in exchange for the aforementioned sexual favors, Defendant gave her homemade chocolate chip cookies.” Says a lot about how bad jail is if folks are willing to stoke the C.O.’s wood just for a couple of cookies. “C.D.” said that she decided to tell investigators about her encounters with Canda because she felt “guilty for doing what I did,” adding that, “I’m ashamed for my actions that’s why I’m saying something.” In light of “C.D.”’s claims, detectives spoke with other female inmates, “at least two of whom suggested that they…had sexual contact” with Canda. One of the women “even claimed that she had been, in her words, ‘dating’ Defendant while an inmate.” Canda was charged this week with custodial sexual misconduct, a felony, for his alleged sexual encounters with “C.D.” Canda has been on paid administrative leave from his jail post since January. Diane Lane has already pulled the trigger in her divorce from Josh Brolin, filing the papers in L.A. Superior Court and citing irreconcilable differences. Lane signed her divorce documents on Valentine’s Day, citing February 13 as the date of their official separation, although sources say it was earlier than that. “They’ve been separated for several months. This was a hard decision for both of them to make,” says a source close to Diane Lane and Josh Brolin . “The relationship just ran its course .” The pair, who married in a 2004 ceremony at Brolin’s California ranch, were introduced by his stepmother, Barbra Streisand, at a party in 2002. Brolin, 45, was recently arrested and held for public intoxication just before midnight on New Year’s Eve 2013, but he was released without charge. He was also arrested for fighting in a bar in Louisiana in 2008, where drinking was involved. Charges were eventually dismissed in that case, too. Four months after they married in 2004, Brolin was arrested for spousal battery, but Diane Lane recanted her story and charges were never filed. In any case, the divorce documents cite “irreconcilable differences.” Lane also wants her name restored to Diane Lane (it’s legally Diane Lane Brolin).

Chris Brown showed up to a court appearance in Los Angeles on issues related to his probation Wednesday evening with pop star Rihanna by his side. Brown was in court to face accusations that he violated his probation by submitting false community service records in connection with his sentence for assaulting Rihanna in 2009. At the hearing, Superior Court Judge James Brandlin asked for additional reports and set a new hearing date of April 5. Mark Geragos, a lawyer for Brown, told KABC that Brown “didn’t violate anything.” Geragos said the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office “should be ashamed of themselves [because] they besmirched the reputation of Chris Brown based on no evidence.” Brown, by prior agreement, has been completing his community service obligation in his home state of Virgina, but the L.A. County District Attorney claimed in legal documents, posted by the Los Angeles Times, that Brown may have faked his community service work and that documentation of his hours were, “at best sloppy, and at worst fraudulent reporting.” ABC ilp

Britney Spears was smokin’ that Teena!?!? Former manager Sam Lufti claims the pop princess went the bald route to cover up her junkie ways… Via NY Post reports : Britney Spears didn’t shave her head in a fit of rage — she did it so there would be no way to trace her drug use, a lawyer for her former manager claimed in court. Joseph Schleimer opened Sam Lutfi’s libel case against Spears’ parents and conservators by showing dramatic photos of the pop superstar with a shaved head and striking an SUV with an umbrella. Schleimer suggested to the LA jury that Spears was afraid a judge would order a test of her hair. If drugs were found, the judge could take away her two sons and give custody to ex-husband Kevin Federline. Schleimer claimed Lutfi tried to save the meth-addled Spears from a mental breakdown but lost control — and was blamed for her being hospitalized and placed under a court-ordered conservator. During a break when the jury was not present, Superior Court Judge Suzanne Bruguera warned Schleimer that his bold claims had to be supported by evidence. Schleimer said he would prove them through either “testimony or documentary evidence.” He told the jury that one of the first things he did when he was hired as Spears’ manager was to have drug-sniffing dogs scour her hilltop home — and they found crystal meth in a trap door. Spears almost certainly won’t testify because she remains under a conservatorship overseen by a judge who has ordered her not to appear for trial or a deposition. But Spears’ parents, Jamie and Lynne, both sat in the audience. Yesterday, a lawyer for Jamie told jurors his client went to heroic lengths to save Britney from drug addiction and mental illness. Lutfi agreed to work for Spears in July 2007 for 15 percent of her earnings — but only if she stayed away from drugs, his lawyer said. The court case is the culmination of a long-running battle between Lutfi and Spears’ parents. He is seeking millions of dollars from Spears and her family, claiming her mother’s 2008 book, “Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World,” lied about him drugging and isolating the pop star. He is also seeking a portion of the singer’s profits, claiming he was a key player in her 2007 album “Blackout.” Yikes… But meth is such a trashy drug. Oh wait, this is Britney Spears we’re talking about right?
