For a couple hours on Sunday night, the Miss USA Pageant was about a handful of beautiful women. And not Donald Trump . The annual ceremony received endless attention in the lead-up to the event, of course, because NBC and Univision both yanked coverage due to Trump’s comments about Mexicans . Multiple hosts, judges and musical acts also pulled out due to Trump being a pompous bigot. But the show did go on in Baton Rouge, with a winner crowned after an evening full of swimsuits, ball gowns and profound answers to dumb questions. And congratulations are in order for Olivia Jordan! The 26-year old Oklahoma native overcame 50 competitors to claim the crown, impressing folks with her views on race relations; on the need for improved dynamics; and her option that Oprah or Harriet Tubman ought to be on the $10 bill . The model and 2013 winner of Miss World America inherits the title from 2014 Miss USA winner Nia Sanchez . Despite the controversy surrounding Miss USA, Jordan was all smiles and screams upon being announced as champion. And Trump? He missed the pageant for a campaign event.

The Duggar family faces steeper obstacles than the PR nightmare that has become their life if they hope to ever return to the airwaves on TLC. New Federal Communications Commission (FCC) documents contain complaints that could well bring the axe down on 19 Kids and Counting. The complaint filed details the Duggars’ “dangerous” views portrayed on the hit show and asks for the show to be pulled from the air forever. Certainly, it’s a view shared by a growing chorus of critics. According to the document, 19 Kids and Counting “[pollutes] the national television airwaves with a family that protected a pedophile son.” “Because they claim to be Christian,” the complaint against child molester Josh Duggar and company says, “it seems to allow them a pass.” The Duggars, these critics allege, “espouse a dangerous worldview regarding women, that includes incest as acceptable behavior.” Somehow we’re guessing they’re not talking about forcing women to wear garments like this Jessa Duggar swimsuit photo reveals, either. The FCC issued a reply, explaining that the organization can act only “relating to particular programming, rather than a general opinion.” Should complaints continue, however, or get more specific, the FCC – and/or TLC – may be all but formed to pull the plug on the Duggars. If there’s any advertiser even willing to associate with them. Commercial sponsors have already dropped 19 Kids and Counting left and right due to the Josh Duggar scandal, so it may be a moot point. The show was shelved indefinitely by TLC, and you can’t watch 19 Kids and Counting online either, but it hasn’t been canceled … officially. At this point, it’s hard to see it ever returning, though the fact that it’s still in limbo tells you that the network isn’t taking the decision lightly. Baltimore Man Leaves 2-Year-Old Daughter In Hot Car For 24 Hours A Baltimore man is in police custody now after leaving his 2-year-old daughter in his car while he drank and partied with friends on father’s day. The toddler died from exposure to high temperatures while closed inside the vehicle with the windows up from Sunday afternoon until the following day. Via MailOnline : A Baltimore man has been charged with homicide after police say he left his 2-year-old daughter strapped to her car sear inside his hot car for 24 hours while he went drinking. Wilbert Carter, 31, told police he went out drinking Sunday with friends as temperatures reached a scorching 89 degrees. He later went home alone at 7am. When he awoke Monday at 4pm, he realized his daughter Leasia Carter was missing. He found her unresponsive in his car, which was parked down the street. She was rushed to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead after police say she sat in Carter vehicle with the windows rolled up for at least 24 hours. Raven Jenkins witnessed the horrific moment Carter discovered his daughter in the car. ‘He’s walking down the street. He’s crying,’ Jenkins told WBAL. ‘He’s got a little kid in his hand, a lady comes out of the house or walks out the street and they just start screaming.’ Carter told police he’d been drinking on Sunday, but was apparently unsure for how long or when he parted ways with his daughter. When questioned by police, Carter said he had sole custody of the little girl at the time of her death. He was charged Monday with child abuse and homicide. So sad. How do you manage to forget that you never dropped your child off with a sitter or family member? And especially with sole custody…who exactly did he think was putting the child to bed the night before and feeding her the next morning?
