Russell Brand Plans Some Movie Awards Lady-Killing

Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart are definitely on our newly single host’s radar for Sunday’s show. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Russell Brand Photo: MTV News When it was announced that all-around funnyman Russell Brand was hand-selected to host the 2012 MTV Movie Awards , no one was more excited about the news than Brand himself — particularly when we presented him with a list of the lovely leading ladies who would also be present at Sunday’s show. When we let him know that Kristen Stewart, Emma Stone, Mila Kunis and Charlize Theron would all be on hand, there was a lot of whistling on his part. “I don’t watch things like [‘Twilight’],” Brand said when Stewart was mentioned, but he did offer up a nice whistle. “I don’t know, I don’t know why I would watch it. But for the people, I like the good-looking boys. Robert Pattinson and him with the tummy,” he said, speaking of Taylor Lautner’s storied abs. “I met him. He was really handsome.” Brand’s tales of celebrity run-ins did not end there: It turns out the “Rock of Ages” star had a very memorable encounter with Stewart’s “Snow White and the Huntsman” co-star, Charlize Theron. “Oh my God. She’s amazing, isn’t she? [I met her], and it was embarrassing,” Brand revealed. “I messed it up bad. I met her and didn’t recognize her. I was at a party, and I was looking at birds . She came over and [said] something untoward. And I showed off like an idiot, not recognizing her.” Once Brand realized his mistake, he was distraught. “I thought, ‘Oh no! I didn’t use any of my moves!’ ” he recalled, before adding that Sunday’s awards show might present him with the perfect opportunity to reintroduce himself. “It’s a new day, it’s a new dawn, it’s a new life,” he said, wondering, “Is she single?” Head over to MovieAwards.MTV.com to vote for your favorite flicks now! And while there are hotly contested races in nearly every category , Best Kiss might be the one to watch this year. The front-runners are Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson , not only because they’re fan favorites but because they’ve taken home the award for three consecutive years. MTV News recently caught up with “Twilight” producer extraordinaire Wyck Godfrey, who assessed the competition and concluded that Stewart and Pattinson are likely to bag their fourth award — save for one heated smooch between Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum in “The Vow.” “That might be tough, Channing is having quite a year,” Godfrey said diplomatically, before explaining why the kiss in “Breaking Dawn – Part 1″ really is this year’s best. ” The Best Kiss is when it’s really about [a] prelude to sex,” Godfrey admitted with a smile. “Sometimes that takes it up a notch and that could be that what might get us over the hump. “I think the build-up for four [‘Twilight’] movies, and to watch these two finally have sex is such that when that happens in ‘Breaking Dawn,’ the audience is fully with it, wants to see every frame of footage,” the producer explained of that heated moment between Edward and Bella after their “I dos.” “I think that kiss is special because we know what it’s leading to.” Aside from this year’s nominated kiss, Godfrey said the previously nominated smooch between Bella and Jacob (Taylor Lautner) in “Eclipse” ranks among his favorites. “I think the fun one was in ‘Eclipse’ when Taylor and Kristen kiss for the first time in the movies, and I think that was something for fans and [the filmmakers] that was really enjoyable because Rob and Kristen were old hat by then.” Head over to MovieAwards.MTV.com to vote for your favorite flicks now! New Breaking Dawn Posters: Forever…

The Dark Knight Rises , The Twilight Saga will see your new TV spots and raise you a trio of exciting posters for Breaking Dawn Part 2 . The film comes out on November 16, 2012, which is clearly stated on all three photos – but we understand if you miss those numbers, considering the faces also featured below: Those of Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson . Click through and ogle away now: We’re still a couple months away from major promotional efforts revving up in honor of this final installment, but Summit Entertainment has at least unveiled a teaser Breaking Dawn trailer that depicts Bella as a vampire. Look for the cast to be on hand this July at San Diego Comic-Con and for THG to be live with a full report. Until then, take comfort in the simple tagline on these posters. The saga will last, in our hearts, forever.

Kristen Stewart Amused By ‘Snow White’ Co-Star Charlize Theron

By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Charlize Theron in “Snow White and the Huntsman” Photo: Universal Despite their obvious differences both onscreen and off, Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron have formed a bond during the filming of “Snow White and the Huntsman” and even more so during the current press tour in support of the film. When MTV News caught up with Stewart recently, we asked her to compare the familiar scenario of doing interviews with her longtime “Twilight” co-stars Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner versus her new castmate, the lovely Ms. Theron. “When Rob, Taylor and I do interviews together, they usually don’t actually ask us anything. We just get to hang out and people like to watch that,” Stewart said with a laugh. “It’s fine, because I like hanging out with those guys, but it is weird. With Charlize, it’s been great, because we’re so proud of the movie and we actually only worked together for three days, so we got to know each other probably more or at least on a certain level during press, and it’s been nice. It’s been fun.” Stewart said she especially admires Theron’s ability to light up a room with her energy and humor. “Some people intimidate you. Some people’s energy is so big you feel like you don’t fit in the room, but with her, I really appreciate how different we are. I love the effect she has on people,” Stewart said. “I find it hilarious. I love watching it happen. I do not have that. Maybe I have something else, but it’s definitely not as visceral. Also, she’s really hilarious,” she added, noting that the Oscar winner uses the more colorful swear words with particular aplomb. “[She] puts me to shame, to be honest,” Stewart said. Vampire Eyes, Wolf Steel: See the First Images from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2

There’s nothing terribly sensational here to get excited about in the first two official stills from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 , except for — ZOMG! — a certain pair of blood-red vampire eyes staring out at us amidst the smoldering looks and pale prettiness on display. And the almost surreal perfection of Robert Pattinson , Kristen Stewart , and Taylor Lautner ‘s complexions. Fun fact: Twilight ‘s vampires not only sparkle in the sunlight, they never have to blink. Hit the jump for images! For those who haven’t been caught up to speed on where we’re at by the time Breaking Dawn – Part 2 rolls around: The last time we saw Bella (Stewart) she was dying a horrible death while giving birth to her half-vampire spawn when her undead hubby, Edward (Pattinson) saved her by turning her into a vampire. Hence the blood-red eyes — the mark of a newborn vampire. Breaking Dawn – Part 2 brings the whole saga to a close as Vampire Bella embraces and adjusts to her newfound vampire-ness, which is a pretty awesome deal — super strength and speed, even more flawless skin, no need to worry about being ripped to shreds along with the pillows during sexytime… and, Twilight Fun Fact #2: Vampires don’t cry. The intricacies of Stephenie Meyer’s vampire physiology make it so that vampires pretty much have no use for tears. I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt and say that’s a metaphor for Bella’s newfound strength and self-confidence after spending so many movies unsure of herself and weeping over her star-crossed romance. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 hits November 16.

Taylor Lautner To Join Adam Sandler In ‘Grown Ups 2’

‘Twilight Saga’ star will take on ‘fun’ role in sequel to the hit 2010 comedy. By Jocelyn Vena Taylor Lautner Photo: Jeff Kravitz/Film Magic If you’ve been itching to see Taylor Lautner flex his comedy chops more on the big screen, this news is for you. The “Twilight Saga” star has just nabbed a role in the sequel to 2010’s “Grown Ups,” according to The Hollywood Reporter . Lautner will join most of the original cast in the sequel including its leading man Adam Sandler, as well as Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, Maya Rudolph and Salma Hayek. “Project X” star Oliver Cooper also recently joined the cast. Director Dennis Dugan will be back to helm “Grown Ups 2.” Sources say that the big-screen werewolf “will make an appearance in a ‘fun’ role, in which he goes toe-to-toe with Sandler.” The role marks a departure for Lautner, who previously angled more toward action-based blockbusters like the “Twilight” flicks and “Abduction,” which was a Stateside box-office dud but managed to gross $82 million worldwide. The first “Grown Ups” film earned $162 million domestically and $271 million worldwide. The film follows a group of friends who reunite as adults after their high school basketball coach dies. While no further production details about the film are being reported, Lautner does have a busy 2012 ahead of him. He’s set to work with Gus Van Sant in his next indie, the final “Twilight” film, “Breaking Dawn – Part 2,” opens in November and since mid-2011, he has been attached to the big-screen adaptation of the YA novel “Incarceron.” Lautner also recently dropped out of a starring role in “Stretch Armstrong” after being attached to that project for some time.
