Bangerz: Number-One on Billboard and iTunes!

Expect to see a lot more of Miley Cyrus naked in the future, THGers. The singer’s run of raunchy photographs, performances and all-around crazy antics has officially paid off: her new album is number-one on both the Billboard 200 and iTunes! According to a press release from RCA, the ” Wrecking Ball ” artist sold over 270,000 copies of “Bangerz,” as the the CD hit the top spot on iTunes in 70 countries this week, including Canada, Australia, Ireland and Great Britain. This marks the singer’s second number-one album and represents her biggest sales week since 2008. “lezzzz celebrate #topspotzzz,” Cyrus Tweeted shortly after receiving the news. But don’t expect Miley to slow down any time soon. She can’t stop, remember?!? Cyrus is reportedly planning for a huge performance at the American Music Awards on November 24. We have no idea what it will entail, but we’re guessing more teddy bears than articles of clothing will be involved. And, based on these results, can you really blame her?

Taylor Swift: Rejected by Zayn Malik?

Taylor Swift says she is single, happy and relaxed these days. But that wasn’t always the case, according to the new issue of Life & Style. An unnamed insider claims the singer had her eye on Zayn Malik awhile back and made her dating desires very well known. But “when Zayn found out she was interested, he turned her down,” the tabloid alleges. So, how did Swift respond? She “swooped in on” Harry Styles and settled for her second favorite One Direction singer instead. But that relationship quickly fizzled out and Taylor hasn’t dated anyone famous since. This all went down more than a year ago, of course, so it’s unclear why we’re first hearing about it now. Probably because it’s totally false and made up. Taylor, meanwhile, found herself at the center of a different kind of dating rumor last month. Based on comments made by the artist, some believe that she was calling out the fact that Justin Bieber cheated on Selena Gomez .

James Woods on President Obama: A True Abomination!

James Woods is not what you’d call a fan of President Barack Obama. The 66-year-old actor expressed his opinions on Twitter this week in the wake of the federal government shutdown, placing the blame for it on Obama. Woods, who is dating Kristen Bauguess , also criticized the president for various other problems in the U.S., including gun violence and race relations. He responded to both those who agreed with him and those who did not, calling Obama an “abomination” and linking to articles about the shutdown. Woods said the remarks might keep him from being able to find a job in Hollywood, but that he’s resigned to that fate after he put “[his] country first.” Some of his most choice Tweets about the POTUS: I believe Barack Obama has done more for gun sales, less for race harmony and more damage to community than any president ever. Sixteen tears of machine Democrats shredding the fabric of this Republic will toss the greatest democracy on the trash heap of world history. I think Barack Obama is a threat to the integrity and future of the Republic. Might be slightly difficult for you if those of us who didn’t vote for Obama all left. Who would pay for all your stuff? Yes, remember when Obama cried crocodile tears for the victims of chemical weapons in Syria? Never heard another word, did we? Imagine if we just took care of our own citizenry and stopped foreign aid to nations who wanted us dead. One final word. I am truly saddened that the few Lib detractors are so ugly in their approach. I would welcome polite differing viewpoints.

Taylor Swift is featured in the latest issue of InStyle – and, you won’t believe this, but the singer talks in depth about her personal life with the magazine. The artist, who recently made waves by sticking her nose in other people’s business and hinting that Justin Bieber cheated on Selena Gomez, focuses on her own love life this time around and makes some startling admissions. Swift admits that her approach to men “needs to be changed” and explains: “My friends tease me about the fact that if someone seems bad or shady or like they have a secret, I find them incredibly interesting. That’s just a phase I’ve been in lately. I don’t think this should be how i proceed in life. It’s important to be self-aware about these things because you don’t want to end up with that guy.” Taylor describes herself as single, happy and relaxed these days and adds that she hasn’t dated anyone “in a long time.” “I’d like to think if you’re with the right person, you just feel great about things you’ve never felt great about before,” she says. “At least that’s how I’ve heard it’s supposed to be. I wouldn’t know.” Awww, that’s sad! Keep your chin up, T. Swizzle. Swift also puts to rest rumors that she’s dating Ed Sheeran, even though the singers are close. “Ed and I are such good friends. I have never had such a close guy friend before. It’s always kind of creepy because with a guy friend-girl friend situation, it usually feels like one person always wants more. That’s not the case here. If [a guy] wants to be friends with me, just know people are going to say we’re dating.”

The video of an Instagram user named “djbroc” has gone viral after he met a girl at Starbucks… got her number… and then sent her a MMS message that was his attempt to silently seduce this young lady via lustful looks set to the Drake single “Hold On, We’re Going Home.” The girl shared this video with friends and the trend #StarbucksDrakeHands was born, as various Internet users have mocked the unnamed man’s pick-up moves. Justin Bieber Loves Asia, Going Shirtless

We don’t know whether or not Justin Bieber cheated on Selena Gomez , as Taylor Swift seemed to hint at in a recent interview. But we do know this much: the singer loves to take his shirt off! And Bieber has done it again, posting an especially muscular portrait of himself to Instagram this morning along with the caption: “I love Asia.” Justin has been touring that continent over the past several days, though he made headlines earlier this week for an event that took place very far away from the stage: Why did his bodyguards carry Bieber up The Great Wall of China ? No one really knows. On Monday, meanwhile, Bieber rode his skateboard around Beijing, making fans in the area go bonkers when he hit up a mall and spent some time with the local. The singer will play in Shanghai Saturday before departing to Japan and then South Korea. He’ll then be in South America for 25 more shows prior to returning Stateside. But even though we won’t be seeing Bieber any time soon in America, we will be hearing him: Starting midnight Sunday, he’ll be releasing one new song per week for 10 weeks straight. Hooray!

Taylor Swift Snags Major Movie Role

Taylor Swift has taken a major step forward in her acting career. The singer has landed a role in the film The Giver , a big screen version of the popular young adult novel by Louis Lowry. It’s unclear at the moment just what role Swift will take on, but it’s not unclear just how impressive a cast she’s joining. Brenton Thwaites – yes, rumored love interest Brenton Thwaites ! – will portray an individual selected for life service as the Receiver of Memories, while the title character will be played by Jeff Bridges. Others on board include Katie Holmes, Alexander Skarsgard and Meryl Streep. The Giver will start filming October 7 on South Africa and be released on August 15, 2014.

CMA Awards Nominations 2013: Revealed!

The nominations have been revealed for the Country Music Association (CMA) Awards, which will be hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood on November 6. A look at the nominees shows Florida-Georgia Line, Taylor Swift , Blake Shelton and Jason Aldean lead the way in their genre, to the surprise of no one. Swift is a previous winner of the Entertainer of the Year trophy, but lost out at last year’s event to Blake Shelton. Both stars are up for it again in 2013. Taylor will also compete for Female Vocalist of the Year honors against Kelly Clarkson, Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves and Carrie Underwood. Sheryl Crow and Florida-Georgia Line had the happy job of doling out the good news to this year’s nomination recipients on GMA this morning.
