Sophie Turner’s Amazing Nobody Cleavage

Some of you may be wondering why I keep posting pictures of this hot piece Sophie Turner , I ask myself the same thing, but then I look at her breasts for ten or fifteen minutes and I forget what the question was. Anyhow, I’m sure she’s going to become big one day and I look forward to her long career playing such memorable characters as trashy waitress #4 and hot blonde in the background who gave the producer a hummer.

Vuvuzelas Can Be Eco-Friendly As Well As Noisy

Image from Vuvuzela Orchestra Vuvuzela: a word (and sound) that has gone from being local to global in 24 hours. It’s the plastic horn that produces the droning, buzzing sound in the background of the World Cup football matches. And you either love them, if you are South African, or hate them if you are the rest of the world. There have been pleas to ban them but World Cup organisers are asking fans to “please embrace our culture and the way we celebrate.” There are fears that they will become a staple of British games now as fans stuff them into their suitcases. But what to do with them … Read the full story on TreeHugger

Introducing the True Blood ‘Sex and Violence’ Meter

Much is made of True Blood’s willingness to push the envelope when it comes to sex and violence, but which does the show give more screen time to? Each week during the Movieline recap of HBO’ s vampire series, we’ll tally points for sexual content (sample activities: Jason Stackhouse getting laid again, or Pam lurking in the background with an outfit that makes her look like a rubber fetishist from a mid-90’s episode of Real Sex ) and violence (even a particularly vicious comment from Lafayette or Tara could count for this, depending on Arlene’s wounded, crumple-face reaction), then declare a winner. So who came out ahead in last night’s third season premiere?

Jackson Rathbone Says ‘Airbender’ Training Came In Handy For ‘Eclipse’

‘I consider myself fairly well-trained — for film, at least,’ ‘Twilight’ co-star says. By Jocelyn Vena Jackson Rathbone Photo: MTV News When “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” comes out June 30, fans will see a much “darker, more animalistic” side of their beloved vampires and werewolves , according to co-star Jackson Rathbone. And since he is, actually, only human, Rathbone is grateful that he had a slight advantage in preparing for Jasper’s battle scenes: his role in “The Last Airbender,” which opens July 2. “Well ‘The Last Airbender’ and ‘Eclipse’ are both action-heavy films, and I play characters [who are] a lot of the wars and a lot of the fight scenes,” Rathbone told MTV News . “So, I did two months of kung-fu training for ‘The Last Airbender’ and then that actually parlayed really well going into ‘Eclipse,’ so I had all the background training.” But just because he had to get his kung-fu on for “Airbender,” didn’t mean he rested on his laurels once he got to the “Eclipse” set. “And then I did more fight training in ‘Eclipse,’ so I consider myself fairly well-trained — for film, at least. Don’t come up to me on the street and try and fight me!” Rathbone is happy that Jasper has a much more complex role in the third film than he did in “Twilight” and “Eclipse.” “I play this very quiet kind of solitary character,” he explained. “He’s very dark and withdrawn, and now with ‘Eclipse,’ we get to see why. We get to go back into Jasper’s backstory, who he used to be his old life and why he’s afraid of himself around Bella. You get to see him warm up to Bella in this third film.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Gulf Spill Just A Drop In The Bucket Compared To What Happens Every Day, Everywhere Else

AFP John Vidal of the Guardian writes of an oil spill in Nigeria a few years ago, touring the disaster: Forest and farmland were now covered in a sheen of greasy oil. Drinking wells were polluted and people were distraught. No one knew how much oil had leaked. “We lost our nets, huts and fishing pots,” said Chief Promise, village leader of Otuegwe and our guide. “This is where we fished and farmed. We have lost our forest. We told Shell of the spill… Read the full story on TreeHugger

Obama Speech Links BP Gulf Spill to Need for Clean Energy

Photo via Post Gazette Though the clean energy legislation introduced to the Senate a couple weeks ago has faded into the background as the BP Gulf spill rages on , there’s still a real opportunity for lawmakers to make the case for transitioning away from fossil fuels. And greens have been waiting for Obama to make a distinct indication that he recognized this — and to publicly link the Gulf coast disaster to the dangers of oil dependence. It looks like he’s finally gotte… Read the full story on TreeHugger

Punk Rock Republicans

I am often asked what my favorite band of all time is, and for me it is an incredibly difficult decision – almost impossible. However, if I had to pick a band, it would probably be The Ramones. I have been a fan since around sixth grade when I first heard the song “I Want To Be Sedated” on the radio and was immediately hooked (I even had my first kiss while “Beat on the Brat” was playing in the background). The power, impact and influence of possibly the greatest band of all time and the inventors of punk rock is absolutely endless and infinitely spanning. It is my great honor to announce that Linda Ramone, the wife of the late legend Johnny Ramone will be joining me to campaign for my father in Nevada on Monday and Tuesday. I couldn’t be more excited and humbled if Elvis himself came out on the road with me. Looking forward to sharing with you what its like to campaign with a legend! 3G Lags on Skype iPhone OS 4.0

Apple recently announced that the iPhone will be able to support multitasking for third party apps soon. Which means Skype can now be used in full speed. But one complaint as tested for the iPhone OS 4 leapt out at us immediately: Skype’s app could now run in the background, waiting for incoming calls while you do other things, but 3G is still lagging on the features. Without being able to run in the background Skype’s is largely limited to outgoing calls, unless you make an appointment on some other medium to arrange a Skype call (or just run it all the time). At present Skype is a convenient extra on the iPhone, and a significant tool for making calls — especially during those hours when you’d otherwise be using the minutes on your calling plan — but not something one could ever rely on for day-to-day communication. That could change dramatically this summer, when OS 4 is available to the public. Maybe even better: The same OS powers the iPod Touch, which has no phone but could become a Skype phone by default. It will also be available for the phoneless iPad in the autumn. Ultimately though, without being able to use AT&T’s 3G connection, which AT&T told the FCC and Apple was fine six months ago, Skype calls are still limited to Wi-Fi. And that’s a big limitation. On Tuesday, Skype released a new version of its iPhone app that many suspected would add 3G calling because AT&T approved the idea six months ago and Skype said in February that 3G calling would be added “real soon now”. So I guess we’ll just have to wait. At least we can still watch the UFC 112 live stream clearly on the iPhone. 3G Lags on Skype iPhone OS 4.0 is a post from: Daily World Buzz Continue reading
