Staged Teen Mom Drama: Gary Shirley, Clinton Yunker Pretend to Argue at Buffalo Wild Wings

Is MTV’s Teen Mom making like The Hills and playing up the drama for the cameras? Even staging it altogether? This new clip would strongly suggest so. Amber Portwood’s ex, Gary Shirley , got into an “argument” at Buffalo Wild Wings in Anderson, Ind., and wouldn’t you know it, the cameras were there. As we reported yesterday, Amber broke up with Clinton Yunker , her latest boyfriend, this week. As he celebrated his single status, Gary walked in … Gary Shirley-Clinton Yunker Argument The video above, in which Gary argues with Clint’s brother, shows him inciting other people in the restaurant and threatening to make them “famous.” Gary seems to know exactly what’s going on, making you wonder if the whole thing is a setup to make money – and what other scenes that applies to. Amber Portwood has told police the violence was “real” and that her beatings of Gary were not encouraged by the network, but we’re a bit suspect.

Lo Bosworth and Scott Hochstadt: It’s Over!

Lo Bosworth and Scott Hochstadt have called it quits. (P.S. That’s Lauren Conrad’s BFF from The Hills and her boyfriend, who you never knew existed) After two and a half years together, the sad split went down Tuesday, right before businessman Hochstadt, attended a Family Guy DVD launch party. The duo first stepped out together in summer 2009. On July’s series finale of The Hills , Bosworth agreed to move in, with Scott hinting at a proposal. What went wrong for Lo and Scott? “They had talked about getting engaged quite a bit,” the source concedes . “But over the last couple of weeks it really unraveled. The age difference was a lot. “They are at different places in their lives. They are taking it slow as friends. Scott loves her family, she loves his family, and all their friends are heartbroken. “But in the end, they couldn’t make it work anymore.” Sounds a lot like Ryan and Scarlett , doesn’t it?

Alina Kabayeva, Rumored Mistress of Vladimir Putin, Lands Cover of Russian Vogue

Sarah Palin may be able to see Russia from her house, but don’t count on the professional celebrity to move there any time soon. This former governor wouldn’t be able to handle a spotlight on her personal life that doesn’t net her a hefty sum. Indeed, there’s clearly no privacy at all for political figures in that nation, as Alina Kabayeva graces the January 2011 cover of Russian Vogue. Who the heck is Alina Kabayeva? She’s the alleged mistress of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, a 27-year old former Olympic gymnast who many believe is the mother of Putin’s love child. Somewhere, Levi Johnston has seen this magazine cover and has booked himself a flight to Russia.

Katie Holmes & Tom Cruise: (Not Really) Separated!

Come on Star. At least the recent cover story about how Jason Trawick abused Britney Spears had shock value, even if it was lacking in some areas (namely facts). Same with the new story about someone getting Amber Portwood pregnant . Unconfirmed, but certainly eye-opening … and more or less believable. But Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise on the rocks for the 47th time? Yawn.

Leah Messer Leads Teen Mom: The New Class!

Like Saved By the Bell, MTV’s Teen Mom is ready to debut its new class. Only with babies, and with knocked up teens instead of Zach Morris knock-offs. With Leah Messer (pictured) and her ilk taking center stage, Us is all over it like … Us on the original Teen Mom stars. Or The Hills cast prior to that. The question? Can Leah & Co. captivate the masses like Amber Portwood , Farrah Abraham, Maci Bookout and the O.G. momz? Only time will tell … TEEN MOMS TAKE TWO : Abusive exes! Families torn apart! Drama! Without question, the reality show has struck a chord with viewers and celebrity gossip readers alike. Does it glorify teen pregnancy , especially by casting a new group of moms who have presumably seen the first season by now? Will you watch the new season? Talk to THG!

Kim Kardashian Is Highest-Paid Reality-TV Star Of 2010

Lauren Conrad, Audrina Patridge, the Situation rank high on Daily Beast’s top 10 list. By Gil Kaufman Kim Kardashian Photo: Gustavo Caballero/ Getty Images We mock them, sniff at their “stardom” and use their antics as punch lines, but laugh all you want because reality stars are making some real cash these days. The Daily Beast released its first-annual ranking of the year’s highest-paid reality stars, and topping the list is “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star Kim Kardashian. The ubiquitous red-carpet walker rolled up an estimated $6 million thanks to deals with everyone from Skechers to Kotex and Quick Trim and a personal appearance fee that is rumored to range up to $75,000 per step and repeat. The Beast praised Kardashian for her diversity, noting that in addition to licensed perfumes, a cupcake mix, sponsored tweets, a swimwear line called Beach Bunny Swimwear, the book “Kardashian Konfidential” and a stake in an online shoe company called ShoeDazzle, she also has a part of a licensed clothing line, K-Dash by Kardashian, and in the chain of Dash retail stores. Coming in just behind Kardashian is former “The Hills” and “Laguna Beach” star Lauren Conrad, who banked an estimated $5 million courtesy of her fast-selling fashion line at Kohl’s and a trio of young adult books, including her latest, “Sugar and Spice,” which has sold more than one million hardback copies. Conrad has also sold more than 40,000 copies of her “Lauren Conrad Style” guide. “The Real Housewives of New York” cast member Bethenny Frankel amassed an impressive $4 million last year, most of it courtesy of her spin-off show, “Bethenny Getting Married” and her series of nutrition books (“Naturally Thin” and “The SkinnyGirl”), margarita mixes, an endorsement deal with Pepperidge Farm and a slot on “Skating With the Stars.” Another “Hills” alum, Audrina Patridge fills out the top five with $3.5 million, which came as a result of Carl’s Jr. and Bongo jeans endorsement deals, a production deal with reality maven Mark Burnett for a 2011 VH1 series and a hosting job on the Internet network Yobi.tv. Patridge is tied with one of the most polarizing reality figures, “Kate Plus 8” mom Kate Gosselin, who raked in a reported $250,000 per episode for her TLC show, in addition to cash for speaking engagements, hefty sums for her four books and her fees for a stint on “Dancing With the Stars.” Coming in at #6 is everyone’s favorite “Jersey Shore” cash machine, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino. Reportedly the show’s highest-paid star, he pulls down anywhere from a rumored $15,000 to $50,000 per personal appearance and is reported to have nailed a six-figure advance for his autobiography and additional dough for his just-released book “Here’s the Situation: A Guide to Creeping on Chicks, Avoiding Grenades, and Getting in Your GTL on the Jersey Shore.” Sitch is also working on his own line of colognes, has appeared in ads for Reebok and Vitamin Water, released a best-selling iPhone app and fitness DVDs, endorses nutritional supplements and is part owner of the vodka company Devotion. Rounding out the list are Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian ($2.5 million each), Pauly D of “Jersey Shore” ($2 million) and E! star Kendra Wilkinson ($2 million). Even those who didn’t make the list this year garnered mentions. The Beast reported that “Jersey Shore” breakout star Snooki earned $750,000 in 2010 and recently signed a deal with the Happy Feet slipper company for a line of nighttime footwear.

Audrina Patridge, Miss J, Cee Lo Green Reminisce On ‘When I Was 17’

Stars remember meeting fashion designers and skipping school in latest episode. By Mawuse Ziegbe Cee Lo Green Photo: MTV Miss J is a beacon of fierceness for the droves of starry-eyed, wannabe catwalkers on “America’s Next Top Model.” But there was a time — way back when he was just a starry-eyed teenager — when the reality judge and runway coach didn’t even have the most rudimentary sense of the biggest movers and shakers in fashion. On the latest episode of “When I Was 17,” the style maven recalled heading to an open casting call for one of renowned French designer Jean-Paul Gaultier’s events — even though he had no idea who the sartorial master was. “I went to Bergdorf Goodman for the casting,” he said. “There was hundreds of people waiting. I thought to myself, ‘What’s gonna make me stand out?’ and I just thought, ‘Be yourself, personality.’ I had nothing else to sell.” Armed with his famously dramatic personality, Miss J sold it. He brought the attitude and booked the gig — despite leaving an important piece of his wardrobe at home. “When I got to see him, he said, ‘Hello.’ And I said, ‘Hello.’ He put me in clothing, and I remember I wasn’t wearing underwear that day. I wasn’t wearing panties, but I hid in the corner, put on the outfit and I put on this attitude… but I got the show.” When Cee Lo was 17, he had no trouble getting a job, and rotated through an array of random gigs. The “F— You” singer remembered one job, however, that got a little off track. “I remember one that was really funny — I worked in a warehouse where they were putting together the Frito-Lay variety boxes of chips,” The Lady Killer singer explained. “I was on the end and I would push them through the plastic part where they would kinda do the overlay of plastic. “One time I look back over the conveyor belt, and I just remember potato chips just falling all over the floor,” he says. And when the chips hit the ground, “Closet Freak” star decided it was time to make a run for it. “I was like, ‘Oh, no. I’m out!’ ” he said. “The Hills” good girl Audrina Patridge tended to stay out of trouble when she was 17, but she wasn’t able to resist a day spent lounging by the shore instead of hitting books. “One day, my friends and I decided to ditch school and go to the beach, and I wrote a fake note: ‘Please excuse Audrina Patridge. She wasn’t feeling well today. Any questions, call,’ ” Patridge recalled. “So I just ditched school and I went [to the beach], and our counselor at the time called my mom and asked where I was, and so she covered for me.” While mom stuck to Patridge’s lie, she didn’t let the episode slip under the rug. Instead, she exaggerated the fib so much that the “Dancing with the Stars” alum kind of wished she really was sick. “She told them that I was really, really sick and that I was throwing up, and she did it to embarrass me, because when they called me into the office the next day, I had to sit there in front of all of them and tell them that I was throwing up and that I had diarrhea and I had to stick to her story,” she remembered. “It was probably one of the last times I ever ditched — first and last.” “When I Was 17” airs Saturdays at 11 a.m. on MTV Related Videos When I Was 17 (Season 2) | Ep. 6 | Cee Lo Green, Miss J Alexander, Audrina Patridge Related Photos When I Was 17 (Season 2) | Ep. 6 | Cee Lo Green, Miss J Alexander, Audrina Patridge

Soul Train Awards Hosts Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson Talk Legacy

‘This is passion, this is love, this is music right here,’ crooner Ray J says of awards show, which airs Sunday on BET. By Mawuse Ziegbe, with reporting by Joel Hanek Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard host the 2010 Soul Train Awards Photo: Moses Robinson/ Getty Images Decades after the groovy soul-music showcase “Soul Train” arrived on television sets across the nation, the 2010 Soul Train Awards are keeping the phenomenon’s legacy on track by spotlighting a new generation of R&B voices. This year’s show will air Sunday, November 28, on BET and Centric, and MTV News hit the red carpet before the taping of the event to check in with some of the most respected songsmiths around today about “Soul Train” ‘s cultural impact. “This is the platform for urban music and to be here today, for it to have so much longevity, this is it,” “Sexy Can I” crooner Ray J said. “This is passion, this is love, this is music right here.” “The Soul Train Awards is history, man,” hitmaking songwriter Sean Garrett added. Rising R&B face Melanie Fiona agreed, acknowledging the longstanding influence of the iconic production. “Soul Train Awards are great,” she smiled. “They come with a lot of history. They come with a lot of celebration of great music. It’s a great event and beautiful people, beautiful night.” For host Taraji P. Henson, the original television broadcast reminds the Hollywood veteran of “good times,” and was a cultural touchstone for “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” actress. “I just remember learning how to dress and how to dance and wear my hair from ‘Soul Train,’ ” Henson recalled fondly. “That’s where I got all my fashion tips.” An array of inventive soul stars will hit the stage at this year’s event, including Bruno Mars, Cee Lo, Chrisette Michele, R. Kelly, Keyshia Cole, Ne-Yo and Erykah Badu. R&B luminaries Anita Baker and Ron Isley will be honored as Soul Train Awards Legends. Detroit soul star Dwele chatted about the enduring legacy of the enterprise, which remained on the air for 37 years and began dishing out coveted hardware in a separate awards show in the ’80s. ” ‘Soul Train,’ period, is music. It’s our music from back in the day and it’s still relevant currently, and that’s a beautiful thing,” he said. Co-host Terrence Howard, who returned with Henson to helm the event once again, maintained that the “Soul Train” phenomenon transcends music and reflects the game-changing strides made by African-Americans over the last few decades. “It reminds me of the advancement that black people have made over the years ’cause ‘Soul Train’ really was the beginning of that Black Power movement when we actually could see ourselves. And to have an awards show based upon that ‘Soul Train,’ it’s headed somewhere.” Who are you looking forward to checking out at this year’s Soul Train Awards? Let us know in the comments!
