REVIEW: How Do You Know Has Moments of Genius — But Too Many Cell Phones

A hanging statement rather than a question, the unpunctuated title of James L. Brooks’s How Do You Know is an apt reflection of the film’s amble toward a theory, in lieu of an answer. The subject, needless to say, is love: What’s the secret? Is there an algorithm yet? How, when one meets a new person, is it possible to separate emotional temperatures — where circumstance, experience, and need have led each of you to be in that exact moment — and access what true baseline there might be between you? And if it is possible, is it useful? Abandoning analysis for instinct hardly seems like the thing: The rhetoric of instant connections — clicking, chemistry, sparks — feels random and unreliable; the more acquisitive approach — involving checklists, potential, dealbreakers — is bloodless and overdetermined. To be a vampire, and at least have a few clear guidelines about letting the right one in!

Quantum Dot Displays May Trump OLEDs for Most Awesome TV Screens

Image via Engadget Everyone talks about OLED displays as one day being the thing to beat for TVs, since OLED technology offers incredibly vivid colors with increasingly less electricity consumption. LG has already utilized the display technology in a couple television models , though they cost and arm and a leg. Now the company has moved on to explore another option – QLEDs. They could be even more crisp with even lower energy requirements. … Read the full story on TreeHugger

Shakira Filming a Music VIdeo of the Day

I am sure this video will be substantially better than these pictures of her shooting the video…because Shakira, despite being old, has this thing about her where she shakes her fucking ass hard enough to get millions of hits….but I’ll post these as a preview for your Shakira fans, even though I am not one, cuz I am hungover and totally uninterested in anything…

Annalynne McCord Is Hot And Annoying

It’s pretty clear to me that AnnaLynne McCord hates my guts and blows kisses to the camera simply to piss me off. I must have about a dozen posts featuring her doing this crap, grow the hell up princess, she probably thinks this is her thing now. So obnoxious. She’d get more positive feedback if her thing was I don’t know, letting one of her boobs fall out on the red carpet. Just a suggestion. Nice legs though.

Halle Berry In Her Tight See Through Dress

I don’t normally have a whole lot of pictures of Halle Berry on the site, I think once she got preggos that was the end of it, but today the outfit she chose to wear to some party left me absolutely no choice. I mean look at this thing, it’s amazing. Not only is it super tight in all the right places, but the brilliant designer also decided to throw in some nice see through patches just for good measure. Well done. I think I’m in love again. Enjoy.

FNC Cites MRC, NewsBusters on Media Indicting America as Islamophobic

On Saturday’s Fox News Watch, host Jon Scott picked up on a recent “Media Reality Check” report by the Media Research Center – parent organization to NewsBusters – titled “Smearing America as Islamophobic,” which documented that the mainstream media have portrayed America as Islamophobic because of public opposition to the Ground Zero mosque. Scott: “The Media Research Center, Jim, released a study this week titled ‘Smearing America as Islamophobic.’ The overall thrust is that networks like NBC, CBS, ABC are calling these protests at Ground Zero, protests over the mosque, Islamophobia. Do they have a point?’” After panel member Jim Pinkerton of the New America Foundation voiced his agreement with the MRC’s findings, Scott seemed to pick up on another MRC/NewsBusters item as he quoted ABC’s Christiane Amanpour from last week’s This Week show when she portrayed America as Islamophobic. Scott: “Let me read you a quote from Christiane Amanpour… At the top of her show on Sunday, she noted the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks that had just passed, and she said, ‘She said nine years later, the growing hostility toward Muslim-Americans. Not since 9/11 has the country seen such anti-Muslim fervor,’ and said, ‘Muslim-Americans are feeling vulnerable.’ Where’s her proof?” Below is a transcript of the relevant portion of the Saturday, September 18, Fox News Watch on FNC: JON SCOTT: The Media Research Center, Jim, released a study this week titled “Smearing America as Islamophobic.” The overall thrust is that networks like NBC, CBS, ABC are calling these protests at Ground Zero, protests over the mosque, Islamophobia. Do they have a point? JIM PINKERTON: I think they do. I think the facts speak for themselves. I mean, the mere fact that the media would so consciously take the imam’s side in this battle, and every high-minded liberal journalist and columnist in the country says, is obligated to say, “Yes, we must build the mosque,” when the big question is, and I think Judy said this a few weeks ago, there’s no evidence they have the money. Forget the right or wrong of the thing. They’re about 100 million behind where they need to build this thing. SCOTT: Ellis, let me read you a quote from Christiane Amanpour, one of your favorites I’m sure. At the top of her show on Sunday, she noted the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks that had just passed, and she said: “She said nine years later, the growing hostility toward Muslim-Americans. Not since 9/11 has the country seen such anti-Muslim fervor,” and said, “Muslim-Americans are feeling vulnerable.” Where’s her proof?

Mischa Barton’s Flat Booty Gets Angry

Here’s career nobody Mischa Barton storming off into a car with her ugly flat ass the other night. This thing looks like something you’d see at ladies day on the golf course. Gross. It’s funny because rumor has it that she stormed off because somebody said her butt was flat. Awesome. I’m just glad we didn’t get a shot of her rotten face .

Fabolous Stops By MTV News’ ‘RapFix Live’!

Loso answers fans’ Twitter questions and (maybe) breaks down elements of his signature tending topics on Thursday. By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting by Shaheem Reid Fabolous Photo: Jonathan Leibson/ WireImage Fabolous walks a fine line, maintaining his presence on the underground mixtape circuit and cultivating a mainstream persona with his album releases. His most recent project, There Is No Competition 2: The Grieving Music EP, stems from the similarly titled mixtape There Is No Competition 2: The Funeral Service. Both collections serve as a warm-up to Fab’s next album, Loso’s Way 2. According to the Def Jam rapper, if he had to choose another MC to take a turn on the mixtape scene, his choice would come down to two fellow New York lyricists. “A Nas mixtape would be crazy, a Hov one too,” he told MTV News. “We haven’t seen any of the icons do it [in a while]. I think somewhere, we need a place where Hov doesn’t have to talk corporate and Nas doesn’t have to get too deep on us. We need one of those. I just wanna hear Nas [rapping], ‘Splittin’ Phillies, sippin’ on Baileys with three Israelis.’ I don’t know if he’s still in that space,” Fab said, reciting one of the God MC’s memorable mixtape freestyles. “A lot of things have transpired since. And I wanna hear Hov talk his thing. He still talks his thing and Nas still talks his thing, but I wanna see them in their mixtape essence.” Fabolous will talk mixtapes and more on Thursday when he appears on MTV News’ “RapFix Live” live stream with Sway on MTV.com at 1 p.m. ET. So, wondering why Loso still releases mixtapes after all his success? Ready for the inside scoop on his next project? Want to ask Fabolous about his recent rift with Soulja Boy Tell’em ? Tweet questions to the Brooklyn MC at @MTVNews with #rapfixlive or upload video questions to him at Your.MTV.com and Sway may get them on-air. Fabolous follows past “RapFix Live” guests Rick Ross , Wiz Khalifa, Fat Joe and Lloyd Banks. What should we ask Fabolous? Share your questions in the comments! Related Artists Fabolous

Naomi Watts Titty and Bush in Mother and Child of the Day

I dont remember ever thinking Naomi Watts was hot….I don’t really remember ever thinking anything about Naomi Watts. Sure I know she’s in movies, but I couldn’t tell you which movie, or what she did, cuz I guess I just never really noticed her, cuz she probably wasn’t doing Pussy Puppet shows, and she definitely isn’t now, but she is showing some full frontal for half a second, which I am sure is enough time for you assholes….Enjoy. Here is some other girl in the movie getting fucked…which is lovely if watching this kind of tame shit is your thing…
