McDonald’s CEO Steps Down As Sales Decline McDonald’s CEO Don Tompson is stepping down from his position at the corporation. Via Fortune : McDonald’s CEO Don Thompson is leaving the company in March. The newcomer will face the enormous task of reversing the fast-food chain’s global sales slide. The company said on Wednesday said Thompson would step down as CEO and board member on March 1, and be replaced by Steve Easterbrook, its chief brand officer who is responsible for fixing the fast-food operator’s marketing and menu. A longtime McDonald’s veteran, Easterbrook earlier in his career held big jobs including president of McDonald’s Europe. The company said on Wednesday said Thompson would step down as CEO and board member on March 1, and be replaced by Steve Easterbrook, its chief brand officer who is responsible for fixing the fast-food operator’s marketing and menu. A longtime McDonald’s veteran, Easterbrook earlier in his career held big jobs including president of McDonald’s Europe. The move comes a week after McDonald’s, the world’s biggest restaurant company, reported fourth-quarter and full-year results that made 2014 the first with a decline in same-store sales in a dozen years. It was also the fifth straight quarter of declining same-store sales in the United States, where it has lost many customers because of an overly complicated menu and changing tastes, and a defections to fast casual chains like Chipotle Mexican Grill. Apparently, McDonald’s stock rose 3% once investors heard that Thompson was out. We wonder why their confidence rose all of a sudden….SMH.

June Shannon has denied any romantic involvement with the man who molested her eldest daughter, and has stated that photos that show her lying in with Mark McDaniel were Photoshopped by TMZ. Earlier today, Lee “Uncle Poodle” Thompson confirmed that June Shannon is sleeping with Mark McDaniel in an interview with Dr. Phil, and naturally, Shannon responded by calling him a liar. Moments ago, Uncle Poodle posted the below photo on his Facebook page. He says it was taken by a fan, and shows McDaniel with June and her children on a family vacation. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight last week, Shannon spoke about her relationship with McDaniel for the first time and claimed that she’d only interacted with him in a group therapy session with 12 other people. Thompson cites the above photograph as proof that Shannon lied about her relationship with McDaniel and blasted a number of her claims in a lengthy online tirade: “So June? Where’s the other 12 people?” McDaniel wrote. “So you would never take your children around Mark? So you haven’t seen him in over ten years? Thompson also accused June of sabotaging her relationship with his brother, Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson, by making an online dating profile in his name so that she could accuse him of cheating. “I feel bad for my brother,” McDaniel wrote. “You made him the plenty of fish account and bragged about that by telling him and everyone else that he can see whoever he wants, while in the mean time your Talking to Mark and Seeing Mark, who was cheating now?” Shannon and Thompson broke up in September, not long after McDaniel was released from prison. Earlier today, Lee “Uncle Poodle” Thompson revealed that he has photographs of Mark McDaniel in bed with Honey Boo Boo . Thompson was understandably upset at the idea of his 9-year-old niece in such close proximity to a convicted child molester, and his actions spurred his brother Sugar Bear Thompson to fight for custody of Honey Boo Boo . Now, Lee has opened up about his reason for going public with the photos and we don’t think anyone will be surprised by his outrage: “He should [have] never been near or around the kids,” Uncle Poodle wrote online today. “What June does behind closed doors is HER business unless it involves the kids and that is why I spoke out! I did not nor will I ever support her wanting or being around McDaniel nor do I agree with the whole situation.” The past couple days saw June Shannon face a slew of accusations including her eldest daughter Anna’s claim that June stole from her to buy a car for McDaniel . McDaniel molested Anna in 2003 and subsequently served 10 years in prison. Anna said in a recent interview that he could have faced life in prison had he not reached a plea deal with prosecutors.
