Latest castoff denies dating ‘very special musical friend’ Haley Reinhart. By Gil Kaufman Casey Abrams Photo: FOX When Casey Abrams ended up standing next to Jacob Lusk and Scotty McCreery on “American Idol” on Thursday night, he had a feeling the end was nigh . Then, when Lusk was sent to safety, well, that was all she wrote. “Everyone was just so incredible [on Wednesday night]. … My performance was pretty good, but seeing Jacob kill it and then seeing Haley kill it, seeing Scotty and Lauren kill it and Durbin obviously … it just made me feel like, ‘These guys are incredible. These guys could carry the show. I don’t really need to be here, so if I go home tomorrow, I’m prepared,’ ” he said of the thoughts going through his head after Wednesday night’s Carole King performance show .
‘One-hundred years later, people gonna thank me, because people are going to be free,’ the Based God tells MTV News. By Rob Markman Lil B Photo: Isaac Brekken/ Getty Images In his steady rise to rap notoriety, Lil B has relied heavily on his viral fanbase. His multiple MySpace pages, Facebook “likes” and army of Twitter followers have helped propel his music and message. But ever since Lil B announced at Coachella last week that the title of his next album will be I’m Gay, some fans have turned on the Based God. A few have even sent digital death threats. “People been hitting me up like, ‘I’m gonna bash your head in,’ ‘you f—-t,’ ‘I’m gonna kill you,’ ” Lil B told MTV News on Thursday (April 21), as he drove to a show at the Mezzanine in San Francisco. With upcoming shows lined up in Chicago, Detroit and at the Bamboozle Festival in New Jersey in the next few weeks, Lil B showed no signs of fear and said he’d proceed with his scheduled dates. “I’m not gonna stop and I’m not scared of anybody on earth,” he said of the Twitter backlash. “That’s why I [titled the album I’m Gay ] and nobody gonna stop me.” B insisted he’s not a homosexual, but that he is gay, i.e., extremely happy, flipping the word and focusing on its other definition. “I’m very gay, but I love women. I’m not attracted to men in any way. I’ve never been attracted to a man in my life. But yes I am gay, I’m so happy,” he said. “I’m a gay, heterosexual male.” A spokesman for the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) told XXLMag.com that they hope Lil B’s album title is “not a gimmick, and is really a sincere attempt to be an ally.” B stressed to MTV News that he is in fact a supporter. “I got major love for the gay and lesbian community, and I just want to push less separation and that’s why I’m doing it,” the Based God said. “I hope GLAAD sees that I’m taking initial steps to break barriers.” When we asked about the makeup of his fanbase, B said hadn’t noticed whether there was any significant portion of his following that identifies as gay, but that some have already had a negative reaction to his title selection. “A lot of my supporters have turned on me. It’s been a few supporters that’s saying, ‘I’m not gonna rock with you anymore,’ ” the controversial MC revealed. “That’s fine, because you know what? They didn’t love me for real anyway.” Although the rapper has yet to begin recording the album, he expects to have it ready and available on iTunes in the next month or two. Lil B also believes that even though he’s facing resistance now, in the future he’ll be hailed as a hero. “One-hundred years later, people gonna thank me, because people are going to be free. And that’s the main thing. Even if it’s 1 percent of the people that listen to me and are gonna be free, that’s better than none,” he said. “That’s better than not speaking up at all … and I spoke up and I did it.” What do you think of Lil B’s decision to call his album I’m Gay ? Gaga opens up about the Born This Way creative process in latest ‘Gagavision.’ By Jocelyn Vena Lady Gaga Photo: Tom Briglia/ WireImage This week’s “Gagavision” theme is “Music From Born This Way, ” as Gaga revealed more details about her May 23 album release. The video includes a possible preview to one of the album’s tracks, shots from her forthcoming HBO special and her thoughts on last week’s leak of her latest single, “Judas.” Perhaps a tease to one of the album’s tracks, the music for the “Gagavision” video includes a song that starts off with slow, dramatic church-organ keyboard notes as Gaga says, “My fans are my sunshine. They are the sunshine in the darkness of the arena. “Looking out into the darkness, I feel really fearless and strong and brave.” A montage of Gaga rehearsing and making phone calls and her fans holding up signs plays as the song’s synth tempo kicks in. Dressed like a space-age Cruella De Vil, Gaga heads off to do a promo. “The greatest challenge in writing Born This Way is I had to become confident and secure in myself,” she explained. “I had to leave my insecurity behind, whatever residual scars behind. I spent two years delving deep into my wombs; the blood transfusion.” The video even addresses the “Judas” leak that took place right before she released it to the masses on April 15. She likens it to a disembodiment, saying, “A slow death! Just put me out of my f—ing misery, just put that sh– out. They were tearing [the song] limb for limb. First it was the arm of the song, then the liver. … “I wrote it really quick,” she later says, while lounging fully clothed in an empty bathtub. “I mean, all of the songs on the album, to be completely candid, the creative process is approximately [a] 15-minutes process. It’s 15 minutes of vomiting my creative ideas in the forms of melodies, usually, or chord progressions and melodies and some sort of a theme, lyric idea. And then I spend days, weeks, months, years fine tuning. But the idea is, you honor your vomit.” The video ends with Gaga teasing her Monster Ball and the “polarizing” cover art for Born This Way . Fittingly, new teasers for her HBO special, which was taped at her Monster Ball shows at Madison Square Garden earlier this year, also hit the Net . The special airs May 7. In one promo, Gaga hits the streets of New York City dressed in a studded leather jacket and high platform (and heelless) ankle boots, as “Born This Way” plays in the background. It leads to shots of the madness at MSG leading up to the show, which is eventually teased in the clip. In the second, shorter preview, shots of her performance is teased while her new single, “Judas,” plays. Related Photos The Evolution Of: Lady Gaga Related Artists Lady Gaga

Andrew Breitbart calls out Trumka and other lefties, unionists and community organizers April 16 in Madison for what they are–divisive, angry, rude and haters. The Tea Party, on the other hand, has been the most peaceful, clean-up-after-themselves protest group in the history of America, he says. They were gathered to protest high taxes. ‘Dancing With the Stars’ couple say they like to ‘create a story line.’ By Kelley L. Carter Chelsea Kane Photo: MTV News LOS ANGELES — A couple of weeks in, Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas have found the right magic. MTV News caught up with the “Dancing With the Stars” couple during rehearsals for the Viennese waltz they performed Monday night, and they said they are a perfect dance-floor match. “I feel like we’re one of the couples on the show that have really found this awesome balance between learning and living,” Kane said. “We’re on a ballroom-dancing show; this is supposed to be fun. We get to come to work and literally make up dances, and then go put on rad costumes. There’s nothing to complain about! We come to the studio, we rehearse and then we like to find times to just relax and make sure that we’re taking in this whole experience and having a good time.” That magic played out on Monday’s show. It took a lot of hard work to master the dance, the Disney Channel star said, because it challenged her to rework her timing. “We like to always create a story line with our songs, and this one was really fun. We still got to kind of tell the story and do the freestyle stuff that Mark really excels at. I think he’s one of the best choreographers on the show,” she said. “This whole dance, there’s a lot of in-frame, where it looks like you’re leaning back and it looks like you’re going back into a backbend while you’re spinning around in circles. It looks really pretty. It doesn’t feel pretty, but it looks really pretty.” Ballas concurred, saying the dance is magical, but a tough one to perfect. “It’s also very technical, smooth and elegant and graceful. It’s one of the ballroom dances and it’s a lot of traditional things that you have to nail,” he said. The dance was only made more magical because the couple performed with a 36-piece orchestra onstage with them. “I think the most challenging part for me is the speed, which is surprising,” Kane said. “It seems like it’s a slow song, but you’re actually moving your feet really fast, and it’s supposed to look like you’re floating around on the floor.” Ballas said the reason they work well together is that they both agree that at the end of the day, it’s all about having a good time. “We have a lot of fun. We work really hard, but we also make it enjoyable, which it’s meant to be,” he said. “We don’t take it too seriously. We have our frustrating moments as well, but when we do, we take a break and come back to it.” What did you think of Chelsea and Mark’s performance on Monday’s “Dancing With the Stars”? Singer confirms the rumors about her Femme Fatale lineup on her website Tuesday. By Jocelyn Vena Britney Spears Photo: Max Morse/Getty Images After weeks of speculation, Nicki Minaj has at last been confirmed as the replacement for Enrique Iglesias on Britney Spears’ upcoming Femme Fatale tour . The ladies will also be joined by Jessie and the Toy Boys and Nervo on the all-female lineup. “This is the Femme Fatale tour, and I’m thrilled to have the hot Nicki Minaj join me and Jessie and the Toy Boys and Nervo will get everyone on the dance floor,” Spears said on her website . “Can’t wait to take the Femme Fatales on the road.” Minaj will join Spears after she wraps up touring with Lil Wayne on his I Am Still Music tour, which finishes up May 1 in New Jersey. Last week, Minaj told to MTV News that she was in talks to join the tour, after rumors began swirling that the sassy Queens MC would be hitting the road with the veteran pop superstar. The tour kicks off on June 16 in Sacramento and will run for 26 dates through North America, winding up on August 13 in Toronto. Select tickets go on sale on April 30. Spears manager Larry Rudolph, told MTV News that Britney’s tour will have the post-apocalyptic vibe that’s been present in her recent live sets and the video for “Till the World Ends.” “The way we come up with a concept for a show like this is we sit with Britney, she talks to us about what she’s interested in and what excites her,” Rudolph explained. “We start with the songs on the album; we start with coming up with general, broad concepts. She tells us what interests her and excites her, and from there, we have [the input of music tour director] Jamie King and [choreographer] Brian Friedman.” What do you think of the Nicki/Britney match-up? Obviously I’m in the movie so I’m biased, but I think it’s going to completely shock his fans, and people that necessarily don’t know him very well as Jacob that aren’t ‘Twilight’ fans.
