Pink Toasts AMA Crowd With ‘Raise Your Glass’

Pregnant singer performs one of her Greatest Hits … So Far!!! . By Gil Kaufman Pink performs at the American Music Awards on Sunday Photo: Kevork Djansezian/ Getty Images Not long after Bon Jovi took the stage at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles at the American Music Awards on Sunday night to play a mini-set of greatest hits, Pink dropped by to celebrate her own just-released career retrospective, Greatest Hits … So Far!!! . But instead of trolling through her catalog, she stuck to the new single “Raise Your Glass,” another sparky bit of pop-foolery on which she once again encourages you to get the party started. The always-unpredictable (and did we mention pregnant?) singer is clearly not done with the acrobatic feats of daring that she showcased on her most recent tour. But in keeping with her new status as a mom-to-be, she left the acrobatics to the skateboarders and punk cheerleaders who crowded the stage around her as she danced like a B-girl beamed down from the set of 1984’s “Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo, ” rocking a mini-gold jacket, black high-waisted Hammer pants, black bra and bedazzled black headband. With a colorful, multi-level set that mixed candy-colored risers and half-pipes, Pink worked the stage as she swayed her head side-to-side amid female dancers being tossed up in the air like they were on the sidelines at a Saturday afternoon college football game. When one of her cohorts offered her a wine glass, she lamented that it was empty, but, you know, that’s probably a good thing at this point. And then, inexplicably, in the middle of the song, she tossed a bucket full of glitter at a portly extra hanging from an aerialist perch. He responded by yelping, off key, “I freakin’ love glitter! ” By song’s end, she was back center stage and out of breath, beaming as a shower of streamers, balloons and confetti rained down on the crowd. In other words, the perfect ending to a Pink party. What did you think of Pink’s performance? Related Photos Performances At The 2010 American Music Awards Related Artists P!nk

Enrique Iglesias Didn’t Want To Sound ‘Arrogant’ On AMA Song ‘Tonight’

‘Some songs are supposed to be taken seriously; some songs are not supposed to be taken as seriously,’ he tells MTV News of new single. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Matt Elias Enrique Iglesias Photo: MTV News When Enrique Iglesias took the stage at the American Music Awards on Sunday (November 21), he not only performed the mega-hit “I Like It,” but also his self-proclaimed raunchy new single “Tonight.” While he cleaned up the lyrics in the chorus from “Tonight, I’m f—ing you” to “Tonight, I’m loving you,” he told MTV News he’s pretty connected to both versions. “For me, the most important thing when I was in the studio singing it was, ‘How do I sing this and not sound arrogant, like an idiot or way too out there?’ And that’s really what it came down to,” he told MTV News. “I did it a bunch of times, and I heard it back, and it felt good for me, the phrase: ‘Please excuse, I don’t mean to be rude, but tonight, I’m [f—ing] you.’ I thought I didn’t want it to be one of those songs I heard on the radio and say to myself, ‘Man, I wish I would have sang that.’ And I felt it was one of those special ones.” Iglesias isn’t known to use expletives in his music, but admits that there was just something about this song. “There wasn’t [any reservations]. … The minute I put vocals on it and it felt good, I’m like, ‘I got to go with it.’ … ‘Cause it’s not that I was trying to push it; I just liked the song,” he said. “Really, that’s what it comes down to at the end of the day: If I like the song, the melody, the message. Some songs are supposed to be taken seriously; some songs are not supposed to be taken as seriously. This one, you can take both ways,” he smiled. What did you think of Enrique’s AMA performance? T.I. Gets Deeply ‘Personal’ During ‘VH1 Storytellers’ Episode

Tip delivers his hits, performs poignant tracks live for the first time during show set to air in December. By Shaheem Reid T.I. on “VH1 Storytellers” Photo: VH1 The words are still as meaningful and penetrating as they were in 2001. T.I. took the stage on Tuesday night at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City and led the audience back to album number one, track 2. “They sendin’ letters home from school, nobody read mines,” Tip rapped from “Still Ain’t Forgave Myself.” “And plus, my uncle’s doin’ 10 years F.E.D. time/ Then I started rebellin’, began crack sellin’ / The littlest thang on the corner with a Mac 11 / After school, I hear my mama holla homework / I say, ‘aiiiight ma,’ but look, I got my own work / Started interacting with fiends at the age of 13 / Now my mama findin’ rocks in my socks, glocks in my toy box.” Onstage to tape his episode of “VH1 Storytellers: T.I,” the Atlanta MC delivered what was arguably his most intimate performance ever. (The show airs Friday, December 10 at 11 p.m. ET/PT on VH1.) “I never performed [that song] since it was recorded,” Tip told the crowd of track, a standout from his 2001 debut, I’m Serious. The King of the South said it just felt “too personal” to perform before. “It took years to find the proper stage and proper crowd to present it to you guys,” he explained. “Now I think the time is right. Glad to be presenting it to you.” Tip also said that although he would be performing what his fans saw as songs, hits even, for him it was altogether different. “To me, this is my life, my story,” he said. “I’ve lived these things, endured these circumstances.” He went on to reveal the backstory for another early record that he hadn’t performed live until that night. “I Still Luv You,” Tip explained, was inspired by the mother of his two sons, with whom he started a family as a teenager. The daughter he had by another woman and whom he had kept secret from his family for a while, as well as his relationship with his father also inspired the song, he revealed. “Motivation,” from T.I.’s 2004 Urban Legend, was written in jail. Tip said that stint behind bars was a result of some criminals wrongly implicating him in a crime. As the police searched his house, they found a gun. “Who would have thought?” he joked. Tip said that the gun was registered to someone else, and he wound up going to jail for a short time. “Oddly enough for me,” he laughed. The record itself was inspired by “a rapper who used my dark moment as his bright moment. … It didn’t rub me the right way.” Tip gave us plenty of bright moments, too, during the taping, with performances, in particular, of the smashes “Live Your Life” and “Bring Em Out.” What songs do most want to hear T.I. perform live? Tila Tequila Speaks on Concert Attack, Human Poop

Tila Tequila probably does not deserve to be hit in the face with beer bottles and/or watermelons soaked in urine . But that’s exactly what happened at a concert in Illinois over the weekend, as the mentally unbalanced D-lister refused to heed organizers’ warnings about a rowdy crowd, took the stage to rap, refused to walk away when booed – and then got attacked by a bunch of utter morons. “I contacted my agents and told them my concerns, and my agents contacted the people who run the event, and they swore to us that there’d be a 100 or more security guards and that nothing like that would happen, and that they needed me to go,” Tila told E! News last night about the build-up to the incident. Tequila says the event was “unorganized” and “the atmosphere was really violent.” Once she got on stage to sing her disaster of a single, “I Fucked the DJ,” Tila said: “Everyone started booing, and I was like, ‘Alright, this is a violent and tough crowd,’ so I went out there just to try and have fun…But immediately before I got up there, things were being thrown, there was so much stuff being thrown, besides just beer bottles.” At one point, she “looked down and saw human poop.” That’s never fun. Tequila will clearly milk this scandal for every second and every penny she can. Along those lines, a lawsuit is already in the works. WATCH THE FULL INTERVIEW WITH E! BELOW. Tila Interview

Rihanna’s New Neck Tattoo: Hot or Not?

Rihanna left her New York City hotel on Wednesday with a special message: rebelle fleur The tattoo, visible in the photo below and to the left, means “rebellious flower.” That basically sums her up, right? It goes along with a nice tattoo on the other side of her neck, which may be new as well (it’s hard to keep track of Rihanna tattoos ). Her most recent ink read “Never a Failure, Always a Lesson .” At least she makes them unique. The singer took the stage in Connecticut last night, and performs at Madison Square Garden tonight, tats and all. What do you think of them? Rihanna: A rebellious flower. In a pink blazer.
