Watch Gary Busey Sell Piranha 3DD With Nonsensical Outtake Reel

“See the movie so you won’t see piranha showing up at your house dressed as…however they want to dress. Just watch the damn thing.” And with those sage words, Dimension Films let Gary Busey loose to drum up press for their upcoming summer boobs ‘n’ blood-fest, Piranha 3DD . Yes, if you’ve been hiding under a rock it is a Piranha sequel… in 3-D. Spelled with a double-D. For boobs. But I digress! Gary, take it away with advice on dynamiting piranha and fart acronyms and synonyms for steak. [via Yahoo ]

The Masterful Mischief of Gremlins 2

Only in Hollywood: “In the commentary on the Gremlins 2 DVD, which has been ported over to its Blu-ray (out this week), [director Joe] Dante calls Gremlins 2 ‘one of the more unconventional studio pictures ever. And if it weren’t for the fact that the studio was in dire need of another one of these movies to put into the cans and send to the theaters, I can’t conceive of us getting away with this.’ He took advantage of that dire need by taking the piss. On that same commentary, [producer Michael] Finnell recalls Warner Bros. head Terry Semel telling them, ‘Just come up with something. Whatever you want. It doesn’t matter. Between 90 minutes and two hours, call it Gremlins 2 , and we’ll make it.'” [ Gawker ]

Canadians at Cannes May Talk to Kristen Stewart For the Low, Low Price of $1,293

It’s one thing for distribution deals to precede the Cannes Film Festival. It’s another thing altogether for the actual absurdity of the annual event to commence before anyone even sets foot on a red carpet. To wit, get a load of this Canadian company trying to sell press access to their stars Kristen Stewart and Brad Pitt. Tacky! Deadline relays the tale of Alliance Films’ junkets for On the Road and Killing Them Softly , where Canadian journalists are welcome to catch up with Stewart and Pitt one-on-one — for the low, low prices of $1,293 and $3,232 (respectively). Junketing on the Croisette is expensive, you see, and since Alliance says it intends to bring both actors to North America for, er, complimentary press days later this year, the film journalists of Canada can either wait or have the first crack by helping foot the bill to welcome the more crucial international crowd. On the one hand it makes sense: These films are likely Toronto Film Festival-bound in September, where many more local and American press will flock for coverage anyway. There’s no reason to squander your talent’s precious, limited time on press they’ll likely get in four months. It’s also not unprecedented; Harvey Weinstein famously tried to usurp $1,500 from journalists wanting to cover Death Proof at Cannes in 2007. On the other hand, come on , Alliance. There are classier ways to handle this dilemma: “Alliance decided not to partake in the Cannes junkets for Killing Them Softly and On the Road , however we wanted to provide Canadian journalists the opportunity to participate directly if they so choose,” a company spokesperson told Deadline . As an insider told Deadline: “Of course it looks bad. But with the company possibly for sale, there’s a lot of pressure to keep as many costs down as possible. A pricey Cannes junket for two American movies that are already coming here later seemed an obvious place to save money.” Totally agreed! But to turn around and offer the interviews anyway for a price? Who approved that ? Velvet Jones? Oh , Canada. Stay tuned to Movieline for more from the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, which commences May 16. Follow S.T. VanAirsdale on Twitter . Follow Movieline on Twitter .

Drake Breaks Down His ‘Rapport’ With 2 Chainz

‘It’s great to see him at the top of his game right now,’ Drizzy tells MTV News from set of Deuce’s ‘No Lie’ video. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Felicia Morris Drake Photo: Frank Micelotta/ Getty Images and Drake have developed quite the camaraderie. Not only are the two currently touring together on Drizzy’s Club Paradise run, the Toronto MC also provides the hook on Deuce’s new single, “No Lie,” off his upcoming debut album, Based on a T.R.U. Story. But their relationship dates further back than fans may actually know. “Like I say in the song, ‘Me and Chainz go way back,’ that’s no lie,” Drake recently told MTV News from 2 Chainz’s video shoot in Los Angeles. “I spent a lot of my early days with Young Money on the road with 2 Chainz. We definitely built a rapport. It’s great to see him at the top of his game right now. The world loves him and it’s well deserved. He’s a hardworking guy.” Back then, 2 Chainz was known as Tity Boi, one-half of the Atlanta duo Playaz Circle, and he was riding high off of the group’s stand-out Lil Wayne-assisted single “Duffle Bag Boy.” Drake, on the other hand, hadn’t yet broken through; he spent significant time with the YMCMB team before dropping his 2009 classic So Far Gone. “This record is just the first time that we’ve got to work, and within the first few days the feedback has been incredible,” Drizzy said of “No Lie,” which was released on May 1. “I’m excited about the record — I feel like it’s another anthem,” 2 Chainz said of his debut’s official first single, before putting it in context with his previous mixtape singles. “It’s like a ‘to be continued’ of what I did with ‘Spend It’ and ‘Riot’ and just bring that energy back to the scene.” The two wasted no time preparing the video, shooting it only two days after the song was dropped to the public. “Director X is shooting the video and it’s great, a lot of beautiful women,” Drake said of the temperature on set. “It’s definitely a performance video. X took more of an artistic approach. Everybody’s looking good — it’s gonna be great.” Are you excited to see 2 Chainz and Drake together in the “No Lie” video? Tell us in the comments! As he kicks off latest leg of Club Paradise Tour, Drizzy tells MTV News he’s already looking forward to annual hometown show. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Felicia Morris Drake Photo: MTV News The Bay got quite the treat on Monday night when Drake rolled into Concord, California’s Sleep Train Pavilion for the latest leg of his Club Paradise Tour . It was a memorable kickoff for not only Drizzy, but his some of his tourmates, too, as 2 Chainz, Waka Flocka Flame, Meek Mill and French Montana joined him. “I tried to put together a tour that consisted of … everybody that you hear in your spare time,” Drake told MTV News while on the set of 2 Chainz’s “No Lie” video in L.A. just before the tour. “These are the guys that are currently on the top of the game, so I tried to bring ’em all out [for] one night. And that’s why the tour’s called Club Paradise, because I want it to feel like you’re gonna hear every song that you wait to hear in the club.” The Young Money star had a number of surprises. For starters, he brought out his buddy the Weeknd to perform their collabo “Crew Love,” and then he made way for his mentor, Lil Wayne. Together they rocked their Bay-inspired jam “The Motto” — twice. The current leg of the Club Paradise Tour will run through June and will take Drake to some of his favorite cities, including Houston, Atlanta and Las Vegas (or “Houstatlantavegas” as he so affectionately referred to the trio of party towns on his 2009 breakout So Far Gone mixtape). Those stops are special for him although, Drizzy told us he doesn’t get to spend as much time visiting them as he’d like to. “It’s sad because I love those places, so I wanted to bring something real special and I’ve got all these guys looking amazing onstage and set changes for everybody,” Drake said. “It’s gonna be really great.” As focused as he is on the task at hand, however, the Toronto rapper can’t help but look forward to his upcoming third his annual OVO Fest . Last July, Drake brought Stevie Wonder, Weezy, Rick Ross and Nas to perform at yearly hometown concert in Toronto; the year before that he welcomed Jay-Z and Eminem. He isn’t ready to announce the 2012 lineup just yet, but the “Headlines” MC promises a well-rounded mix of musical guests. “The lineup this year is kinda a mash-up of everybody,” Drake said, hinting that some of his Club Paradise collaborators will be in attendance, as well as the Weeknd. “That’s the most important show of the year to me, OVO Fest, so I’m hoping that we really make it special this year. “The premise of OVO Fest is you never know who you gonna see,” he teased. Drake Says He’ll ‘Thrive’ On Next Album

Drizzy says that while a lot of Take Care was down, he will switch up the tempo for his next album. By Rob Markman Drake Photo: John Shearer/ Getty Images Since he dropped his breakout tape So Far Gone in 2009, Drake has been consistently going through changes. With each music project, he documents his ever-evolving life, so fans shouldn’t expect that to change when he finally releases his third LP. Drizzy didn’t want to give too much away, but from the sound of things, it’ll be much different from his sophomore effort Take Care . “I think that my mood will be reflected in the tempos that I choose for the music,” Drake said of his next LP during a press conference call Tuesday. “A lot of Take Care, it’s down, a lot of it’s down and I think a lot of that had to do with being back home in Toronto and getting reacquainted with the life I had before and the difficulties of that, but at the same time trying to express excitement and trying to express joy.” Though he still keeps a place in his native Toronto, Drake has recently moved to L.A. The relocation has already sparked musical ideas for the Young Money star. “There’s just so much going on for me in the U.S. that I recently made the move to L.A.,” he said. “It’s a new atmosphere, getting to know new people. It’s going to be a very interesting album.” Drake told MTV News that with Take Care, he was telling a story inspired by his 2009 track “Houstatlantavegas.” On the song, Drake created a fictional world, describing a love affair with an ambitious stripper who can’t quite get out of the life. “It was a world that was very much real to me, but I created it in my mind. It was a world that, being a kid from Toronto, I used to look at from the outside and I used to be like, ‘Man that looks crazy,’ ” he told us. “All those strip clubs and all those nightclubs and the drinks and the girls and the fame.” Things have evolved in the months since he released Take Care. “Now I’m kind of in a very, very, very, very different place than I’ve ever been,” Drake said. “I think it will be conceptually one of the best projects that I’ve ever worked on because there’s so many new things going on in my life. Everybody knows when it’s new, that’s when I thrive.” What is your favorite Drake mixtape or album? Tell us in the comments! Related Photos Drake’s Style: From A To Drizzy Related Artists Drake

Demi Lovato Announces Summer Tour Dates

North American jaunt kicks off in June and wraps up at the beginning of September. By Jocelyn Vena Demi Lovato Photo: Timothy Hiatt/Getty Images Demi Lovato is ready to give your heart a break on her just-announced summer tour. The Unbroken singer will take her act on the road beginning in June. The trek will kick off on June 12 in California, before circling around the country for 21 dates with stops in Phoenix, Las Vegas, Boston and one stop in Toronto, Canada. The tour will run through the summer, wrapping up on September 1 in Salem, Oregon. Lovato hit the road last fall to promote the album. That smaller Stateside tour was featured in her MTV documentary, “Stay Strong.” She also recently completed a tour in South America. This time around, Lovato is expected to bring Hot Chelle Rae and Owl City with her. Unbroken just went platinum, celebrating sales of more than one million since its September release. She recently dropped the album’s second single, “Give Your Heart a Break,” as well as the music video earlier this month. While Lovato has been open about her personal struggles, she didn’t want this album to be exclusively about them. “I didn’t want to come out with this depressing album. I think it’s important that I kept a lot of my heart open on the album because I talked about my personal issues,” she told MTV News. “But I also had some fun dance songs on there for people to enjoy.” Demi’s summer tour dates, according to her label:

RedFoo and Sky Blu respond to New York Post report that they were at odds over money made from their chart-topping singles. By Christina Garibaldi LMFAO Photo: Steven Lawton/ FilmMagic Looks like the “Party Rockin” will not be ending anytime soon. LMFAO has fired back at a recent New York Post report that the Grammy-nominated duo were on the verge of a breakup over money made from their chart-topping singles. On Monday, the group released a video on RedFoo’s YouTube page rebutting all reports that the bandmates were hanging up their party hats. The clip starts off with Sky Blu, clad in a spiked bedazzled jacket, telling the audience, “Sky Blu Back! I feel good, man.” Soon after, he is joined by RedFoo, his uncle, who is holding a copy of Thursday’s New York Post . “You see the stuff they wrote in the New York Post ? The crazy stuff, let me read it to you,” Red Foo said. Yet, before he could read the report, Sky Blu grabs the paper and the two begin to fight for it. The two go back and forth until they join together dancing and shred the paper while proclaiming, “Every day we’re tusslin’, ” referring to “Party Rock Anthem” and the Post headline, “Duo: Every day I’m tusslin’.” They went on to promote their upcoming 26-date summer tour, Redfoo and Cherrytree Present: Sorry for Party Rocking Tour Featuring LMFAO and the Party Rock Crew and Special Guests, which kicks off May 22 in Columbus Ohio. Those special guests include Far East Movement , the Quest Crew, Sidney Samson, Eva Simons and Natalia Kills. The tour will mark the return of Sky Blu, who had suffered from a severe back injury, which forced him to miss some tour dates. LMFAO recently performed for the first time on “American Idol,” where they energized the crowd with an electrifying performance of “Sorry for Party Rocking.” Are you excited for the “Sorry for Party Rocking Tour”? Drake Teases 2 Chainz And Meek Mill Collabos On Tour

‘I have very strong alliances with these guys that are on this tour with me,’ Drake says of his Club Paradise tourmates. By Rob Markman Drake Photo: David Livingston/ Getty Images There are no lightweights on the bill for Drake ‘s upcoming Club Paradise Tour . While hitting the road with J. Cole, Waka Flocka Flame, Meek Mill , 2 Chainz and French Montana seems like a no-brainer for any rapper looking to rule the summer touring season, Drake insists he didn’t choose the hottest young talent just because — there are genuine connections there. “I have very strong alliances with these guys that are on this tour with me,” Drake said during a conference call Tuesday (April 24). “I guess it’s safe to say now that anybody that I didn’t have a song with before, I have a song with now. I made sure of that.” For those keeping score, Drake and J. Cole partnered up on “In the Morning,” a warm-up single from the Roc Nation rookie’s 2011 debut album. French and Drizzy teamed up with Rick Ross, on Rozay’s “Stay Schemin’,” and Waka and the Take Care spitter leaked their strip-club ode “Round of Applause” last September. Drake hasn’t yet released music with Meek Mill or 2 Chainz; those collaborations will come in conjunction with the outdoor tour. “Along with this tour, fans are also going to get some exciting musical material that will probably end up dropping a few days before the tour, so that we can perform it on tour,” Drizzy said. For the Toronto MC, summertime is the best time for new music, and he designed this current amphitheater leg of Club Paradise to come at a time when he plans to release some fresh tunes. “I want to go out on tour with the most exciting artists right now, and I want to make sure that I have songs with all of them,” he said. “If we start getting into it and we start really vibing, maybe the last few nights, it’s a collaboration show, maybe we do all of our songs onstage together.” Whether fans actually get to see all six MCs rocking at once remains to be seen, but Drizzy does believe that each act will bring their own brand of excitement. Don’t arrive fashionably late, he warned. “On this tour, I encourage people to get there early, because it’s more [of] a festival vibe, if anything,” he said. “It’s one of those days that’s it’s going to start during the sunlight and the sun’s going to drop, it’s outdoors, it’s summertime … I want people to make it a day.” The amphitheater leg of Drake’s Club Paradise Tour kicks off May 7 in Concord, California.
