What Is Rihanna Smoking?! [PHOTO]

We recently saw Rihanna rocking a Bob Marley bathing suit but these photos got us wondering if the singer smokes weed like the reggae icon too. Rihanna was photo’d lighting up a fat cigar on the beach, although we can’t tell if that’s a regular ol’ cigar or one filled with some wacky tabacky. NeedToBreathe Give Taylor Swift Fans A Little ‘Rock And Roll’

‘We’ll see the mom wearing a NeedToBreathe shirt and the kid wearing the Taylor Swift shirt!’ lead singer Bear Rinehart tells MTV News of fans on tour. By Vaughn Trudeau Schoonmaker, with additional reporting by Morgan Schwartz NeedToBreathe Photo: MTV News As Taylor Swift ‘s super successful Speak Now Tour makes its way across North America this summer, her “rock-and-dance-a-billy” opening act NeedToBreathe took a moment out of their grueling schedule to tell MTV News all about life on the road with one of today’s biggest stars. “We’ve been a band for almost 11 years,” lead singer Bear Rinehart said. “It’s been little steps along the way, you know? Playing in our hometown for the first time at a club that we loved, and then getting signed by Atlantic Records, and then Taylor called and wanted us to tour with her ’cause she’s a fan.” During the four-man band’s first soundcheck of the tour, the guys were surprised to discover just how much of a NeedToBreathe fan Taylor is. “[It was] her and her family sitting out in the crowd, like, singing along to every word of the songs that we’re doing in the soundcheck,” drummer Joe Stillwell recalled. “It’s a little surreal to kind of see that from somebody that you see on such a big scale all the time.” While South Carolina’s NeedToBreathe have been on the music scene for a while now, the Speak Now tour has been an experience unlike any other for the group. “We haven’t played in venues this big, so that’s been a little bit to get used to,” Bear noted. “The first night you walk out there and there’s 20,000 people, it’s like, ‘Whoa, this is pretty intense!’ ” “Her fans, for the most part, are younger than our fanbase,” said lead guitarist Bo Rinehart (Bear’s brother). “Some of these people, it’s the first rock and roll show they’ve ever been to,” Bear said with a laugh about Taylor’s hard-core fans. “Sometimes we’ll see the mom wearing a NeedToBreathe shirt and the kid wearing the Taylor Swift shirt!” The band’s fourth studio album, The Reckoning, hits stores in September. I will NEVER forget August 27th, 2010. The day that plain old…

I will NEVER forget August 27th, 2010. The day that plain old me, Cassie, from little Rhode Island met Justin Bieber. It was my best friend’s birthday and Justin had a concert at the Dunkin Donuts Center about 15 minutes away from us. My friend got a VIP Soundcheck Party ticket for her birthday but I didn’t have a ticket in general, and as usual, like the day of any concert at the DDC , we walked around Providence trying to meet someone- anyone. The day before we had met Justin’s camera crew, Jon M. Chu, and some of his dancers at a hotel. But the day of the concert we hung out near all of the tour buses coming in for the show. We followed one of the venues runner cars down to the gate and JUSTIN BIEBER ROLLED DOWN THE WINDOW AND WAVED TO US. We were in shock so we stood there and waved like idiots, then when the car drove away we started screaming of course! When the afternoon rolled around, my friend had to go in for the VIP thing, and my friend Zack Tremblay and I were hanging out together near the tour buses. Jayden Smith, the camera crew, and Scooter Braun came out to say hi to everyone waiting around. Jayden was getting everyone excited for the show and then Scooter asked if everyone was going. I was the only one that said no, and I asked him if there was anyway he could get me in. He said nope sorry and walked away. I was so bummed. Then all of a sudden Zack goes “OMG CASSIE JUSTIN IS COMING OVER HERE!” And there he was! Justin and Jayden were walking over to us followed by the cameras with Scooter! Justin came over and shook hands with everyone and said hello, and I was a little sad that I only got to see him for a second… but then Scooter tapped him on the shoulder and pointed to me. Justin effing Bieber walked up to me and said, “I hear you’re not going to the show tonight, why?” and I was like “Yeah…I never saved enough money for a good ticket” and he goes “Oh that sucks, it’s gonna be awesome.” And I was like “I bet!” And then he goes ”Well, I have a couple of extra tickets right here…” AND REACHED IN HIS POCKETS AND HANDED ME TWO FRONT ROW, DEAD CENTER TICKETS FOR ME AND MY LITTLE SISTER . He also gave one to my friend, Nicole! I didn’t even know what to do, I started shaking and held my arms out for a hug, and in the middle of our hug, I just kissed him on the cheek!  I JUST KISSED HIM, RIGHT THERE ON THE CHEEK IN FRONT OF LIKE 50 PEOPLE, INCLUDIND CAMERAS. He smiled, and I thanked him and Scooter a billion times and then he went back inside. I didn’t even know what to do I just started crying of happiness. Scooter also teased me saying “I saw that!” and I was like, “What, me kissing him?” and he said “No, he kissed YOU BACK!” I though I was going to faint at that point! I thanked Scooter again and again and all of his crew, I was so out of control hahaha. I called my parents crying, my friend who was inside, and everyone else I could. The concert was by far the best night of my life and the biggest miracle I ever could have asked for. Seeing the scene played on commercials, in the movie, on perezhilton.com, etc. was just mind-blowing. Once again, thank you Scooter Braun, Jus tin, and the rest of his team. You all are amazing. NEVER SAY NEVER! -Cassie Click here to see Cassie in one of the movie trailers!  Read more from the original source: I will NEVER forget August 27th, 2010. The day that plain old…

James Franco May Be Worried, But ‘Apes’ Director Isn’t

Rupert Wyatt doesn’t share Franco’s concern that ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ will suffer because of his involvement. By Eric Ditzian Freida Pinto and James Franco in “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” Photo: Twentieth Century Fox Film James Franco is worried. Is the what’s-that-dude’s-deal backlash going to follow him into the multiplex? There’s the Oscar debacle and the dozen or so degrees he’s pursuing and the “Three’s Company” performance-art installation and any number of other accomplishments and interests that get on some people’s nerves, and Franco is fearful his newest movie, “Rise of the Planet of the Apes,” is going to suffer because of it all. “Critics will be out to kill this movie and blame me for it just because they are out to kill me,” he said in a July Playboy interview. “Last year people were pretty nice. This is the year when people are going to have fun going after me.” One person who isn’t concerned is “Apes” director Rupert Wyatt. “I think people are going to see this film, hopefully, for the film,” the British filmmaker told MTV News at San Diego Comic-Con . “Those that will go see this film for James Franco will still see the film for James Franco. I totally understand where he’s coming from. Obviously he took a bit of a knock with the Oscars, but at the end of the day, he’s an actor and that’s his job.” Likely helping matters, from critical reviews to box-office pop, is that “Apes” is a first-rate piece of popcorn entertainment. And, honestly, we’re kind of surprised to say that. But after checking out an early screening, we can say the story is engrossing, the CG apes look amazing, and Andy Serkis, as the lead ape, delivers one heck of an emotional performance. Seriously! The humans, even Franco himself, take a backseat to Serkis’ motion-captured performance as Caesar, the super-smart simian who leads his fellow creatures in their San Francisco-trashing uprising. For his part, Serkis credits his co-star with helping create a believable relationship between Caesar and Franco’s kindhearted but misguided scientist. “It was amazing working with him,” Serkis told us. “It really is a testament if they can truly believe the person opposite them — who is wearing a performance-capture suit with a head-mounted camera — actually go full-on and have a relationship with them. It’s all about believability. All credit to him that he bought into the whole process.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Rise of the Planet of the Apes.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Evanescence Tour Will Be ‘Straight Up Rock’

Amy Lee tells MTV News the band is preparing to end four-year road hiatus with run of ‘big energy’ shows. By James Montgomery Evanescence’s Amy Lee Photo: MTV News It’s been nearly four years since Evanescence wrapped the tour in support of their The Open Door album … and in the time since, as any fan of the band will tell you, Amy Lee and Co. spent most days doing anything but Evanescence . Of course, all that has recently changed. Their self-titled comeback album is due in stores October 11, and the snarling first single, “What You Want,” is waiting in the wings. Last weekend, they shot a video for the song, and they’re gearing up for a massive world tour . In a way, you could say they’re making up for lost time, which has made the past month a rather hectic ride, indeed. “We haven’t started rehearsing [for the tour] yet, actually. … It’s just been a crazy run-around. We did a big photo shoot in L.A. for a couple days and I’ve been running around doing a lot of press,” Lee told MTV News. “We’re putting the album art together, getting the mixes done at the same time — I’m carrying my speakers around everywhere with me and, like, setting them up in different hotel rooms.” Evanescence have also been focused on finishing the track list for their album — a process made easier by the fact that they’ll also release a deluxe edition that features all 16 recorded tracks — and finalizing the routing for that aforementioned tour. And then it’s full-steam ahead … regardless of whether everyone’s ready or not. “I wish I had more time to prepare,” Lee said of the tour set to kick off in October. “No, we’re excited to get back out there. All we can do is just run as fast as we can. Everything’s just crammed really tight, from the video to the promo to the rehearsal,” she added. “I’m ready to get to rehearsal, because I’m starting to feel like, ‘OK, we’ve got dates booked, we haven’t practiced yet.’ Starting to get a little nervous, but in a good way. … [We’ll] be back in front of the fans, and feeling that energy again. That’s going to be good for my brain.” And when Evanescence do return to the road, what can fans expect? Well, a solid dose of the new album, of course, but also plenty of the old hits too. Of course, Lee can sum it all up pretty nicely. “It’s just going to be straight-up rock. Big energy, this album is just a fast-paced rock ride. Is that dumb to say? Fine, make fun of me,” she laughed. “We’ve got three albums now to pull from so, of course, we want to play the new ones but, of course, we’re going to play the old ones too. It’s going to be a lot. ” Are you looking forward to a new album from Evanescence? Tell us in the comments! Britney Spears’ Tourmates Nervo Tease New ‘Club Records’

Aussie twins tell MTV News they haven’t strayed from dance music roots in spite of ‘amazing’ Femme Fatale Tour experience. By Akshay Bhansali Nervo Photo: Michael Buckner/ Getty Images With Britney Spears ‘ flashy Femme Fatale Tour closing out its remaining North American dates later this month, it’s fair to say that many of Ms. Spears’ concert-going fans have gotten to know Olivia and Miriam Nervo pretty well. In fact, when Brit first announced her Femme Fatale lineup back in April, promising on her website, “Nervo will get everyone on the dancefloor,” dance music fans were ecstatic about the inclusion of the DJ/producer twins whose writing credits include a song for Spears and David Guetta and Kelly Rowland’s “When Love Takes Over.” MTV News recently caught up with the Australian sisters (and former models), and they told us that bussing across the States and sharing the stage with Nicki Minaj, Jessie and the Toy Boys, and Brit herself, has been a stellar opportunity. “We’ve definitely seen both the girls, [Britney and Nicki], and we interact with them,” Miriam, a.k.a. Mim, told us. “You are traveling to each city and you see the same people every day and it really becomes a family. So it’s been an amazing experience.” “It’s an amazing show,” Liv added. “The girls, the lineup really works well together. You’ve got Britney, who I think is looking the best she’s looked in a really long time and who really gives it her all on this tour. And then you’ve got Nicki, who definitely brings her edge to it. I’d never seen Nicki live, and I’m just so blown away. The girl can sing, rap — total respect to her!” As the Femme Fatale Tour winds down Stateside before heading to Europe, Nervo are now looking to expand the fanbase they’ve built in the U.S. But while Liv and Mim have been a part of what might be considered the mother of all pop music tours, the duo insist that they intend to remain true to their dance music and DJ roots. “When we signed the record deal, it was really important to us that we could take our DJing seriously and release club records,” Liv explained of their Astralwerks label. “Yeah, we want to be DJ artists,” Mim added. “That’s what we love so, luckily, we can release some club records alongside our Astralwerks album,” Liv said. “It just so happens that the Astralwerks single that we’re coming out with is with two major club guys: Afrojack and Steve Aoki . It’s called ‘We’re All No One.’ We love it!” While Liv and Mim do the singing on “No One,” the beats are delivered by hard-hitting EDM producer Aoki and David Guetta prot
