Drake Confirms November 5 Lil Wayne Homecoming Concert

Drizzy also pleads with Wiz Khalifa to join him on Light Dreams and Nightmares Tour during Ustream broadcast. By Mawuse Ziegbe Drake Photo: Michael Caulfield/ WireImage Drake is doing it big right now. The Toronto MC’s debut album, Thank Me Later, is platinum, he’s about to headline his upcoming Light Dreams and Nightmares Tour and he’s just notched 1 million Twitter followers. With that type of success, there’s probably very little that is out of the lyricist’s reach. But Drake revealed that there is one thing he wants that he hasn’t been able to secure yet: snagging Wiz Khalifa as his tourmate. “I had a little bit of a fan moment, I tried to get this third cat on my tour,” Drizzy told more than 30,000 fans who logged on to check him out live on Ustream on Thursday (August 19). The broadcast came on the heels of the premiere of his “Miss Me” video with Lil Wayne. Apparently, Drake was keeping his plan to add another act to his tour on the low. “You know we was trying to get Wiz on the tour,” he said, simultaneously informing listeners and his team who were hanging out in the room and clearly didn’t know what he was referring to. The MC then addressed his fans once again: “Hopefully, the Light Dreams [and] Nightmares Tour, depending on what city we go to, it’ll be Clipse, Bun B and Wiz Khalifa . That’s what I’m hoping. I don’t know, maybe I spoke too soon.” Clipse were already confirmed to join the Young Money MC on the road, along with Houston O.G. Bun B, when the tour kicks off on September 20 in Miami. The chart-topping singer and rapper asked the “Hottest Breakthrough MC” directly about possibly joining the fall tour. “If Wiz by any chance watches this, you gotta make some calls for me and make this happen,” Drake said. “We got that young energy right now, we need to go out here and kill these people.” In addition to making his plea for a more Taylor Gang-friendly Light Dreams tour lineup, the MC said he really wants to work with producer 9th Wonder on the follow-up to Thank Me Later. “9th, can we start this next album please?” Drake asked. “Because I know you in the studio,” he added, urging the North Carolina artist to work on his sophomore effort, which Drizzy hopes to release by next year. The rapper also revealed that he initially wanted the ex-Little Brother beatsmith to contribute to Later, but wasn’t able to make it happen. “I’d greatly appreciate it if we could get some work done because I know last time we weren’t able to do that.” While his touring and production rosters are still up in the air, Drake said he could confirm to fans that one particular event is a definite: a homecoming concert for Lil Wayne. “November 5, the Welcome Home Weezy concert,” Drake said. Although he didn’t reveal the location, Drizzy assured fans they wouldn’t want to miss it. “That’s gonna be crazy,” Drizzy smiled. “I told you I got you. I would never just Ustream and talk about nothing.” Do you think Drake and Wiz Khalifa should tour together? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Drake Lil Wayne Wiz Khalifa

Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato Play ‘Camp Rock 2’ Songs On ‘Good Morning America’

‘It’s going really well. We’re having a great time,’ Joe said of joint tour. By Jocelyn Vena Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato perform on “Good Morning America” Photo: Jamie McCarthy/ WireImage The Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato and the entire “Camp Rock 2” cast took over the “Good Morning America” summer stage in Central Park on Friday (August 13) to belt out some of the tunes from the film, out September 3. And while the group has been playing shows for a week on their big tour, fans seemed genuinely excited to see them up there for their second “GMA” appearance this summer. “It’s going really well. We’re having a great time,” Joe said of the tour thus far. The conversation quickly turned to Joe’s big 21st birthday this Sunday. “Besides a dog, I don’t know,” he said when asked about his plans. “That’s all I kind of wanted. I don’t know [what we’re going to do to celebrate]. These guys are not telling me what they’re doing.” The performance was split up evenly between Lovato and the JoBros during the televised three songs. Demi and the film’s cast started the party off with their “Camp Rock 2” track “It’s On.” Then the JoBros hit the stage and sang their own soundtrack song “Heart and Soul,” telling the crowd, “Let’s do this thing. You guys can be louder than that! Come on now!” The set came to an end with the Demi and Joe breakup ballad “Wouldn’t Change a Thing.” The morning wasn’t just about “Camp Rock 2” songs. The brothers and Lovato also revealed which superpowers they wished they had. Demi said, “My ideal superpower? I wish I could teleport, just snap my fingers and be in a room.” Nick’s? “I think flying would be good,” he said. Lindsay Lohan Judge Removes Herself From Case

Marsha Revel’s move comes amid allegations of improper practices. By Jayson Rodriguez Lindsay Lohan appears in court (file) Photo: Pool/ Getty Images The Beverly Hills, California, judge who presided over Lindsay Lohan’s recent probation-violation case has removed herself from further proceedings involving the actress after allegations of improper practices. According to TMZ , Judge Marsha Revel contacted various medical experts and participants in Lohan’s case without notifying the former Disney star’s lawyer or the district attorney’s office. A source in the D.A.’s office reportedly told TMZ that Revel stepped down from the case in lieu of the prosecution’s impending request to have her removed. The move is notable because the judge made headlines when she went against the recommendation of experts in Lohan’s case and ordered the troubled star to a different rehab facility after she completed her prison term . Lohan was slated to check into the Morningside Recovery treatment center, however, Revel changed the location, ultimately selecting the UCLA Medical Center instead. Reports suggested Revel was concerned drugs could be attained by Lohan at the recommended treatment center. Sources told TMZ that Lohan’s legal team and prosecutors met Friday to discuss their issues with Revel. Among the complaints aired during the conversation was that the judge contacted representatives at Morningside Recovery on two occasions without properly disclosing her actions. Revel also allegedly met with Robert Shapiro, the attorney Lohan briefly hired after her lawyer in the case quit. The judge, TMZ reported, failed to notify the prosecution of the Shapiro meeting in her chambers. Revel was particularly harsh with Lohan during the troubled actress’ sentencing , scolding her after she pleaded for leniency. “It’s like someone who cheats but doesn’t think it’s cheating if they don’t get caught,” the judge said. Demi Lovato Reveals Her Tour Wardrobe Inspiration: Rihanna

‘I’m a huge Rihanna fan and I also love spikes and anything leather,’ Lovato says of her tour attire. By Jocelyn Vena Demi Lovato Photo: MTV News Demi Lovato is currently on the road with the Jonas Brothers for their “Camp Rock 2” tour, and she has one killer wardrobe, complete with bedazzled boots, lots of funky jewelry and cool, little dresses. So Lovato, who has admitted to shopping on tour, was a bit nervous when she gave MTV News a behind-the-scenes look at her outfits for the tour. Lovato said that in the weeks leading up to the trek, she really had to focus and nail down the looks she wanted for her performances, which would include sets of her singing her own tunes as well as tunes from the “Camp Rock” movies. That means she needed looks that were both Lovato and Mitchie, her character from the movies. “When it comes to picking out outfits for the tour, I had a rack that filled out an entire warehouse,” she shared. “I just went through it and it took me like six, seven hours to fit all the outfits for the tour. It was fun!” One of those looks is an edgy black and feather dress that screamed Lady Gaga. “It’s a dress and I’ve never really performed my own set in a dress before,” she shared at a rehearsal days before the tour kicked off last week. “So I’m excited.” Another look was a sparkly teal dress that included some sky-high heels. “This is for one of the ‘Camp Rock’ looks that I sing the duet [‘Wouldn’t Change a Thing’ with Joe Jonas] in, and here are the crazy shoes also,” she said. “I mean they’re not crazy like Lady Gaga, but for me they are. I’ve never performed in stilettos, so we’ll see how this goes.” Lovato also shows off a multicolored dress with a little bronze jacket that suits her “Camp Rock” alternate persona perfectly. “Here’s another ‘Camp Rock,’ dress. Not something I would typically wear, but my character would,” she explained. So, what inspires Lovato’s fashion choices for the show? “I feel like it’s more Rihanna than Lady Gaga. I’m a huge Rihanna fan and I also love spikes and anything leather,” she said, before showing off some heavy metal jewelry. “And I have this crazy jewelry. Actually this one [ring] is pretty crazy [with all its spikes], and the bracelets have twice as many spikes. Overall, I guess you can say there’s a ton of spikes in my wardrobe.” Related Videos MTV News Extended Play: Demi Lovato Related Artists Demi Lovato

Justin Bieber Should ‘Have Fun’ With 3-D Movie, Jonas Brothers Say

‘The camera work is really crazy,’ Joe Jonas says. ‘But I’m sure he’ll handle it well.’ By Jocelyn Vena The Jonas Brothers Photo: MTV News Next year, Justin Bieber fans will have the chance to see the singer’s story retold on the big screen in a 3-D movie currently in the works. But Bieber won’t be the first teen pop star to land in theaters in multiple dimensions. He joins the likes of Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers, both of whom have already had their live performances delivered to fans in 3-D. And while a director still needs to be chosen for the flick, the JoBros had some advice for Bieber as he prepares to shoot. “Have fun. It’s a really fun experience,” Joe told MTV News last week at their Road Dogs baseball game in Joliet, Illinois, just before the brothers kicked off their tour. “The camera work is all really crazy, but I’m sure he’ll handle it all really well.” Since they had so much fun the first time around, does that mean there could be a sequel to the “Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience” ? “Maybe,” Joe said. “For right now, I think we’re just going to be streaming live throughout the summer. We want people to come see the show, but right now we’re just really focused on this live show. That’s where we’re at right now, and we’re just getting ready for the first opening night tomorrow night,” he told us last Friday. If the guys ever do decide to make another concert flick, their current tour would be the perfect draw. The JoBros just hit the road for a lengthy tour that features not only pal Demi Lovato, but also a number of their “Camp Rock 2” pals. Plus, there’ll be lots of Jonas music. “We are doing a Jonas Brothers set, and it’s actually a lot,” Kevin said about the tour, which kicked off in Chicago on Saturday. Kevin teased that fans will be treated to some oldies but goodies. “We’re playing a lot of Jonas Brothers songs, and we’re integrating ‘Camp Rock’ and ‘JONAS L.A.’ songs [and] songs from our past. We’re really excited.” Which songs do you hope the JoBros will include in their set list? Tell us in the comments! Exclusive: 3OH!3 Announce North American Fall Tour

The Colorado electro-party-rap duo will hit the road beginning on October 14 in San Antonio. By James Dinh 3OH!3 Photo: MTV News Everyone’s favorite area-code-named electro-party-rap duo are hitting the road again. 3OH!3 have announced a six-week trek across the United States and Canada this October and November. The VMA nominees sent MTV News a video to break the news about their next set of “rad shows,” which will kick off on October 14 in San Antonio. They aim to hit the cities that they missed on their Too Fast For Love tour which they co-headlined with Cobra Starship and Travie McCoy. “We’re doing about five or six weeks on the road,” Nathaniel Motte said. Sean Foreman chimed in, saying, “We’ve got some awesome bands; we’re playing with hellogoodbye and Down With Webster and a very special guest, depending what city you are in.” In light of the difficult economy, the duo pledged to keep their ticket prices down. “I know it’s a hard. I know a lot of times concerts are really expensive and ticketing fees are really, really expensive, so it’s shame,” Motte said. “We’re doing everything we can to keep it low. We work with a lot of independent promoters. “We’re going to find cool, creative ways for you guys to avoid ticketing fees, keep ticket prices low and give you guys the best show for your mind,” Motte continued. Foreman even joked that they’d adjust their own diet to cut costs. “We’re eating SpaghettiOs, which is totally fine, because we prefer eating SpaghettiOs.” Much like they did on Too Fast for Love, 3OH!3 plan to make this tour as much of a party as ever. “It’s going to be huge party,” Foreman said. “All the acts are so stoked to come on this tour, and we’re all going to have a good time so come out and have a good time with us.” The upcoming tour will serve as a perfect venue to showcase new material off their recently released third album, Streets of Gold, which they said was “inspired by gold.” “Some of it’s really fun and just about kind of our life on the road and parties. There’s some heavier songs [too],” Foreman told MTV News earlier this summer. 3OH!3’s U.S. tour dates, according to their label:

‘I think from the minute you walk in to when the last note is played, it’ll be a full night of music,’ Kevin teased. By Jocelyn Vena Jonas Brothers Photo: MTV News CHICAGO — While the Jonas Brothers will be joined by Demi Lovato and a number of their “Camp Rock 2” pals for their big tour, which kicks off Saturday outside Chicago, the guys want their fans to know that this is still very much a JoBros tour. And fans will get a bonus treat, thanks to all the special guests. “When you’re coming in to see the show, I think from the minute you walk in to when the last note is played, it’ll be a full night of music and entertainment,” Kevin told MTV News during a break from rehearsals at the First Midland Bank Amphitheatre. “And we have so many friends out on the road and so many things to be able to integrate into our show.” But fans of Jonas hits like “Lovebug” and “SOS” shouldn’t fret; the guys have been making sure their own songs are getting plenty of airtime during the show. “We are doing a Jonas Brothers set, and it’s actually a lot,” Kevin added. He said fans will even be treated to some oldies but goodies. “We’re playing a lot of Jonas Brothers songs, and we’re integrating ‘Camp Rock’ and ‘JONAS L.A.’ songs [and] songs from our past. We’re really excited.” Not only should fans be excited to catch the JoBros and their pals onstage, but the show also means the guys have a lot more friends to hang out with on the road. “It’s been a lot of fun,” Joe said. “We had a great time shooting the movie with those guys, so to kind of be backstage, there’s a lot of people on this tour. It’s cool for us to hang out with them all the time.” Earlier that day at a news conference at the House of Blues , the guys said that if they did find any downtime at all, they had a few places they like to hang out in Chi-Town. “Millennium Park is always a lot of fun. On my tour back in January, I took a trip up there,” Nick said. “Also, just walking the riverfront is amazing. It’s such a beautiful city. The fans here are some of the best in the world, I think.” Will you be checking the Jonas Brothers out on tour? Let us know in the comments! Eminem’s ‘Love The Way You Lie’ Warns Of The Cycle Of Abuse

Dating violence expert says clip’s ‘warning’ message is heightened by Eminem’s and Rihanna’s personal histories. By Rochell Thomas, with reporting by Adam Murphy Eminem Photo: Michael Caulfield/ WireImage In Eminem’s controversial new video “Love the Way You Lie,” love and violence intertwine seamlessly. One moment, a couple sleeps in each other’s arms, the next, they’re violently fighting, tossing bed sheets. Later, they kiss passionately, pressed up against the same wall the man has just punctured with his fist. All the while, Rihanna croons the chorus which includes the line, “That’s all right because I like the way it hurts.” But is it really all right? Less than 24 hours after MTV debuted the video for Eminem’s chart-topping single about the evolution of his relationship with his ex-wife, Kim, many are wondering: Does “Love the Way You Lie” glamorize domestic violence?

B.o.B Kicks Off Lollapalooza: Watch Exclusive Footage Here!

MTV News follows rapper up onstage before he tears into his hits and closes with MGMT’s ‘Kids.’ By James Montgomery B.o.B performs at 2010 Lollapalooza Photo: MTV News CHICAGO — The speakers boomed the theme from “Star Wars” over the empty expanses of Grant Park, the gates opened, and the kids came on through. They were just a trickle at first, then a heavy flow, and finally a steady surge, sprinting and screaming, kicking clouds of dust up into the air. Lollapalooza 2010 was officially under way. And backstage at the Adidas Mega stage — which, conveniently enough, was adjacent to the river of kids — the first performer of the fest was getting ready. But this wasn’t your ordinary curtain jerker; this was B.o.B , possessor of two massive hit singles, a #1 album and five Video Music Awards nominations . So obviously, the kids made a beeline for the stage, set up shop on the guard rail and got ready to get wild. About this time, B.o.B was exiting his tour bus and making the long walk to the stage. Flanked by his posse, and followed by a crew of cameras, he strutted and laughed — until he got to the gangplank that ramped directly up to the sea of kids. Then the cameras shut off, his posse clammed up, and B.o.B got serious. As luck would have it, he allowed our crew to follow him up. As his name was announced, he ducked behind the stage, crouched, bobbed his head and prepared himself, like a prize fighter getting ready to go 12 rounds. Then, he hit the stage. The kids cheered, his cracking live band laid into the groove, and his double-jointed go-go dancers did their stuff. It was red-hot. He played the hits — leading the audience in sing-alongs of “Nothin’ on You” and “Airplanes” — worked snippets of Vampire Weekend into his tunes and closed with a fabulously funky cover of MGMT’s “Kids.” And then, as the kids screamed their approval, he threw down his mic and disappeared backstage once again. It was a pretty excellent way to kick off a festival. And a weekend. Lollapalooza 2010 gets under way Friday — make sure to check out MTV News’ Lollapalooza Live , streaming Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 5 p.m., right here on MTV.com.
