This is so sad. The L.A. coroner has confirmed that legendary Don Cornelius is dead. According to TMZ reports : Don Cornelius — who famously created “Soul Train” was found dead in his Sherman Oaks, CA home this morning … and law enforcement sources tell us it appears he committed suicide. We’re told cops discovered the body at around 4 AM PT. Law enforcement sources tell us … Cornelius died from a gunshot wound to the head and officials believe the wound was self-inflicted. We’re told Cornelius was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. “Soul Train” changed the landscape of television when it debuted in 1971 and ran until 2006. Officials have notified Don’s family. Cornelius was 75. During Don’s bitter divorce proceedings in 2009, he told an L.A. judge he was suffering from “significant health issues” and wanted to “finalize this divorce before I die.” Cornelius was arrested in 2008 for beating up his wife. He pled no contest to misdemeanor domestic violence and was placed on 3 years probation. His probation just terminated. The divorce was granted in 2010. Sources close to Don tell us … the TV icon was plagued with health issues for years … including a stroke and a condition that required brain surgery. This is a horrible start to Black History Month. Online . “Justin is taking it very seriously,” a source “close to the singer” told E!’s Ted Casablanca. “He’s working with his people to figure out exactly how to respond.” Casablanca also writes that “a very official response will be coming from Camp Timberlake momentarily,” though, at press time, that response had yet to materialize. In his Times interview, John said the film version of his life is “very much in the works,” with a script penned by Lee Hall (“Billy Elliot”) and an unnamed director “onboard.” He also said that the biopic would be far different from the average Hollywood fare, which, given John’s larger-than-life existence, shouldn’t really be all that shocking. “It’s going to be a surreal look at my life, and not just a factual look at my life, more in the manner of a ‘Moulin Rouge!’ ” John said. “I just don’t want it to be a normal biopic because my life hasn’t been like that. In an interview with the L.A. Times , the singer opened up about hoping to cast pop star-turned-actor Justin Timberlake. “We have a director on board, and then it’s just going to be a matter of getting the script exactly the way we want it. Lee Hall has written a script — he wrote ‘Billy Elliot’ — and then we’ll start trying to cast and plan,” he explained in the interview. “I’ve got a wish list of people. #1 on my wish list is Justin Timberlake,” John said, saying Timberlake’s portrayal of him in the 2001 music video for “This Train Don’t Stop Here Anymore” was “superb.” With some big decisions still up in the air, John does confirm that plans for the plot and story are a bit more solid. “That would be a jukebox musical in earnest, maybe with a couple of new songs,” he explained. “You never know. Heavy D died from a pulmonary embolism caused by deep leg vein thrombosis, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office. TMZ is reporting that a pulmonary embolism — which is a blockage of one or more arteries in the lungs, most often caused by blood clots which travel from other parts of the body — was formed in Heavy’s legs. Heavy D also suffered from heart disease, which could have been a contributing factor in his death. My name’s Stephanie and I’m 17. My experience has to do with Massey Hall and the Home for the Holidays concert. It all started when Justin first tweeted he was coming home. Muchmusic announced the concert but didn’t reveal the location. I entered every contest I could find and ended up finding out where and when the “secret” concert would be by reading the rules and regulations to the contests. The day the tickets went on sale, I was waiting on the website for about 6 hours. At 3:58 they went on sale, the site crashed and by the time I got back in it was 4:04 and the tickets were SOLD OUT. I couldn’t believe it, the one time I had money to see Justin I couldn’t. Immediatley after I went on kijiji and saw tickets posted for $600 each, mind you these tickets were $75 max and for CHARITY. Over the next few days I entered many contests, called every radio and did everything I could. Two days before the concert I got a call from MuchMusic saying I had wristbands to the next days show for a chance to win tickets. I was so excited. I got two hours of sleep that night and left at 10am for an hour long train ride. I stood outside Much from 11:30am-4pm. During that time I met a few girls, one who was so dedicated she had slept at the train station to try to get into much WITHOUT a wristband. I also met another girl named Selena (@bieberspack). They picked random names and them did a competition . I didn’t get chosen b ut that wasn’t going to stop me. In tears I took the train home and promised the girls I had met there that I would be at Massey Hall to try to get tickets. That night Selena and I had plans to go there right after school, she wasn’t aloud to skip another day and it was too dangerous for me to travel by myself. That day I had found someone with 2 tickets selling each for $250, we had plans to meet them there. Once we got there, we saw two girls screaming running out of the venue saying they got floor seats. It turns out Massey Hall had some extras. There was a huge line from people who had been there since 8am waiting for a chance to find tickets. Around the corner of the building was security and gates flooded with people around them, I asked what was going on and people said they were waiting for Justin to arrive. I told Selena to come out of the other line and come see if we could see Justin. About 5 minutes after waiting, Scooter walks pasts us and says sorry I can’t stay and goes into the venue. About half hour later he comes out and goes the the opposite side of the group of people I was in. I’m screaming to Selena, “OH MY GOD HE’S GIVING THEM TICKETS OMG”. Everyone was screaming his name, then out comes Scrappy. I started screaming his name and the girls in front of me ask, “Who’s that?” I just stared and ignored them (they got free tickets btw…..) Then out comes Allison . Selena and I screamed her name as she walks toward us, she asked, “Who doesn’t have tickets”. Everyone was screaming, all I could do was cry and say, “Allison, I don’t I don’t”. I saw her give one to Selena and she turned to the next person beside her, Selena reached out and said, “My friend my friend” and she said, “Is she here?” and I said, “Yeah I’m here!”. I couldn’t see if she had given her another one, Selena turns around crying and I said, “DID YOU GET TWO?” and says yes and we both dropped to the ground crying. Everyone was pushing us saying, “Ok you got tickets go go go”. So we crossed the street to wait for Justin to come back. He pulled up about 20 minutes later. We ran to the gate and he quickly went inside hold Jazzy, signing no autographs, but that was fine with me. I was so blessed to have goten a ticket. In all I saw Jermey, Scooter, Justin, Jazzy, Fredo, Chaz, Scrappy and Kenny. I also sat infront of two of his co-writers who told me what they had in store for Justin’s future sound and how we felt about a more mature Justin. Behind us was the guy from Never Say Never, Nathan, who’s Patties friend from when she was a teen. The concert was amazing, we had 2nd row balcony of a 2500 people venue, so we were still very close. Justin was so personal with us, took requests, brought Jazzy on stage and told stories. A few memorable moments was when he was thanking Dan and he said after “Enough of this mushy stuff, I’m a man, I’m a 40 year old a man living at home- inside joke”. Every Belieber knows what he was referring to. He said he wanted the concert to be like a family sitting around the campfire and I can honestly say it was so intimate. You just had to be there, there was so many moments where I cried and cried. Sorry, I’m still in shock. It was the best night of my life and I’m so grateful. Hi, my name is Nicole, I’m 18 years old from Toronto! This is actually my third Bieber Experience I am writing. I was lucky enough to have this happen to me last year. (This is about the picture on the right) On December 20th, I was on Much Music to compete for tickets to see Justin Bieber at his “Home For The Holiday’s” Performance . I got second place but was still lucky enough to get a pair of floor seat tickets. Right after Much Music, I had found out that Justin arrived in Toronto and was doing rehearsals at the venue! So of course, we ran there and got there as soon as possible. No one was outside except Scrappy, then came along Alfredo and Allison; we knew we were in the right place. After saying a few things to the crew, they all went inside the venue. I put my ear against the door and all I could hear was Justin rehearsing! It was amazing of course! About an hour after three security guards including Kenny came out of the door. My heart started racing because I knew that wherever Kenny was, Justin was too. Just 5 minutes after security came out, Chaz, Ryan and Caleb walked out. Then Alfredo, Allison, Jeremy, and finally Justin! He said Hi and then quickly went into his car. We were all yelling, “Please Justin we’ve been waiting here in the cold, all we want is one picture!” Justin opened up his door and took pictures. I had asked Kenny to take the picture with my iPhone, and he didnt put on the flash, thats why its so dark! After Justin was done, he left and said bye. (This is about the picture on the left) The next day, my alarm went off at 8:30am because I had a huge day ahead of me! As soon as I got downtown, my friend and I were meeting up with two of my good friends downtown. We were walking to pick up something and we saw Justin’s security walk into Starbucks, and then we see his hairdresser Vanessa, and then Alfredo with three drinks in his hands. Not long after that, Justin comes out. I saw him through the window and I waved. I said, “Can we get a picture Justin?” Him and Kenny both said yes but they pointed to the side doors because they wanted us to go there. I quickly got there and as he was coming out he smiled and took pictures with three of my friends but two didn’t because about 15 screaming, obnoxious girls must of scared him and he went into his car. Later on we experienced a Never say Never moment! We saw a van drive by us and right away it pulled over to the side of the road. The doors open and Scooter Braun came out. He asked us who didn’t have tickets, and who did. Two of my friends didn’t have tickets, so Scooter took down my friend’s name and gave her Row 2 tickets! I was so happy for them! 13th November 2011= THE best day of my friggan life! Basically I’ve been trying to meet Justin for 2 and a half years. The chance came and I entered a competition to win tickets for his ITV special, but with my TERRIBLE, NON-EXISTANT luck, that didn’t happen. That day I had a huge dilemma because we knew what hotel he was SUPPOSEDLY at then we for sure where knew he would be at the ITV Studios & Fountain Studios. We were on the train and my friend picked out of my hands on which option to choose and we chose the hotel. We got there and it was freezing. There was NOONE else there so I was like oh this is probably the wrong place, but we kinda hung around. We went Starbucks for an hour, Pizza Hut for an hour, in the hotel for an hour etc, and the hotel was fine with us at first and then all of a sudden they came to kick us out (which was the best sign of the whole day because they only kick you out if someone important is going there) . We went outside and there was a few more people, around 15 people and we were just chatting to them. One of the girls somehow knew the manager and the main hotel security guard who came to speak to us and said, “Yeah Justin will definitely be coming back, he’s booked in for another 2 days and this morning he was late for his appointment, but instead of getting straight into his car, he walked out the hotel, went through EVERY single fan outside, took pictures and THEN got into his car to go off. He’s one of the ‘nice ones’ cause most celebs we have here just get straight in the car and go, but he didn’t”. He then said, “We’re expecting him in about 15-20 mins”. This was weird because the ITV special wasn’t supposed to finish recording in about an HOUR later, not 20 mins, so we were like hmmm, but waited. Then as he said, 20 minutes later, Justin’s car came in!! Justin got out, casually strolled over to us and said, “Hey how you doing? Before I get in trouble and get one of you run over, can you just stand away from the road to the side, just in a line please. I don’t wanna get in trouble or get any of you hurt thanks, everyone will get a go!” He then started taking pictures and signing autographs for EVERYONE! This one girl’s picture was blurry and he was like “Oh one second I’ll do that again, that’s blurry”, which to be honest should be the LEAST of his worries! I gave him my camera, he was holding it for AGES, and was like, “Oh it’s on record I’ll take you again in a sec”. At that moment I like nearly FAINTED! I got a normal picture after. The whole time, he was like, “Has EVERYONE got a picture?, is everyone SURE they’ve got everything? A pic and a signature? Who hasn’t got a picture?” and he even did some extra, funny pictures with people. At the end, Kenny was like, “Justin you have to go!” and Justin was like “One second, gimme 2 cameras”. He grabbed a random girls phone and another girl’s camera and was like, “Right, everyone in for a group photo”. Kenny took them and Justin was like, “Another one please, I didn’t like myself in that! And the rest of you guys can like get that picture from eachothers Facebook? Okay I have to go, bye thank you!!” During the group photo, he DREW on my face! Yep, Justin DREW Bieber, DREW on my face!!
