According to The NY Post Surgeons at a hospital will transplant a new nose grown on a patient’s forehead to his nasal spot in Fuzhou City, east China’s Fujian Province. The patient, nicknamed”Xiaolian”, 22, suffered a severe nasal trauma in a serious car accident in August 2012. He just received basic medical remedy rather than a plastic surgery out of financial concerns following the accident. After months, however, his condition was infected due to absence of surgery and his nasal cartilage started to be corroded, making it impossible for surgeons to do nasal reconstruction. However, surgeons came up with an idea of growing a nose on Xiaolian’s forehead — a medical practice never tried in the world. The way is to grow the nose by placing a skin tissue expander onto Xiaolian’s forehead, cutting it into the shape of a nose and planting a cartilage taken from his ribs. Now after nine-month growth, the surgeons said, the nose is in good shape and transplant will be performed soon. “We have gone through the hardest step and now it is not difficult to carry out transplant surgery,” said Guo Zhihui, Director of Plastic Surgery Department of Xiehe Hospital Affiliated to Fujian Medical University. He added Xiaolian will start a normal life once a successful surgery is done. Wow. We’ve officially seen it all.

The White Widow May Have Been Killed In Terrorist Attack In Kenya Officials believe “the white widow” who is a prime suspect in the terrorist attack on a Kenyan shopping mall, may have been one of the three Islamist extremists killed. According to Mail Online ‘White widow’ Samantha Lewthwaite may have been killed during the Nairobi siege. As attempts to flush the remaining militants out of a Kenyan shopping centre continued, officials said three Islamist extremists had died during attempts to free their hostages. Insiders said one was a white woman – adding weight to the theory that Lewthwaite, the fugitive widow of 7/7 bomber Jermaine Lindsay, was behind the attack that has left 62 dead and 170 injured. Downing Street said at least six of the dead are British and warned there was ‘potential for further bad news’. Samantha Lewthwaite converted to Islam as a young woman and married a man who went on to be a 7/7 London suicide bomber. She has become a key figure in the terror group behind this weekend’s attack. The so-called ‘White Widow’, who is the world’s most wanted woman, has been on the run in East Africa after police foiled a Christmas bomb plot against Western tourists in the coastal resort of Mombasa in 2011. A report from the Reuters news agency said three sources – one intelligence officer and two soldiers – had confirmed that a white woman was among the fallen terrorists. Police are exploring whether she could be a hostage dressed in one of the terrorist’s clothes, but the Foreign Office is also examining Muslim convert Lewthwaite’s links to the massacre. The 29-year-old mother of four, from the Home Counties, is now a leading figure in Al Shabaab – the terror group that has claimed responsibility for the killings in the Israeli-owned Westgate shopping centre. Police believe she is the one of the group’s main financiers and bomb-making tutors. However, sources admit they still do not know the full extent of her involvement in the attack in Nairobi. The epitome of a bad father . Father Kills Wife and Three Children Then Kills Himself If he wanted to take out himself then fine, but to kill three innocent children and his wife is just selfish. According to Mail Online A couple and their three children have been found dead inside their Texas home in what police now believe is an apparent murder-suicide. The father of the slain children, Israel Alvarez, was arrested on a domestic assault charge less than two weeks before his body and that of his wife Guadalupe Ronquillo-Ovalle and their three young children were discovered. Alvarez’s father was the one to call police on Sunday night and report the slaying inside the family’s home in Rice, a town about 40 miles south of Dallas. The five bodies were all found with gunshots in their abdomens, and police are still awaiting autopsies as they try to determine who fired the fatal shots. Navarro County Sheriff Elmer Tanner said a rifle was found at the home. Investigators were trying to determine when the shootings took place, Tanner said, saying the children, ages 4, 8 and 12, were in school Thursday afternoon but missed classes Friday. Given the nature of the crime scene and Alverez’s criminal history, police do not believe that the killer is on the loose. ‘We have not seen anything yet that makes us think we need to go outside this location,’ Sheriff Tanner said early into the investigation. Alvarez was arrested September 11 on a misdemeanor family violence charge for pushing Ronquillo-Ovalle and taking away her phone because he thought she was talking to another man, she told deputies. ‘I don’t care where you are. Any time there’s five losses of lives in one location, that’s shocking and traumatic. ‘It doesn’t make any difference where you are. Sean Kingston, his bodyguard and a band member raped teenager Carissa Copeloto in 2010, she claims – and the singer denies – in a new lawsuit. Capeloto, 22, claims she was forced to have sex with Sean, his bodyguard and a member of Sean’s band at a Seattle hotel three summers ago. She says she had smoked pot and downed 7-10 shots of vodka at the time. Capeloto, who is suing all three men , alleges she’d been invited to Kingston’s hotel room following a Justin Bieber concert where Kingston had also performed. When she showed up for a “meet-and-greet,” he was waiting … naked. She says the bodyguard picked her up and “placed her on top” of Sean. At that point, all three of the men proceeded to gang rape the girl while she was “obviously intoxicated, incapable of consent,” the lawsuit alleges. Capeloto says her friend eventually entered the room and rescued her, the cops were called, and she was taken to the hospital to receive treatment. For injuries consistent with rape, she notes. She says her life has been ruined by the trauma she has endured as a result of the alleged gang rape and she wants $5 million minimum in damages. Kingston has filed legal documents insisting the sex was 100 percent consensual, and criminal charges against the singer were dropped in 2010. Police concluded Capeloto wasn’t credible enough to make a legitimate case against him then, a point he will surely bring up in fighting this lawsuit. If this is true, the 23-year-old musician has much bigger problems than his alleged drinking, driving and texting habit. His trial is set for November.
The Real Housewives of Miami returned for season 3 with “Til Lies Do Us Part” and we recap all of the cast shakeups and marriage fake outs in our THG +/- review. It was out with the old and in with the not so new as dentist to the stars Karent Sierra was no where to be found and Alexia Echevarria was added on as a full time cast member. Plus 10 because although Karent and her long distance Latin lover were interesting, Alexia’s life looks like a train wreck. Love it or hate it I’m sure it will never be dull. And given Alexia’s family life I was surprised she signed on this season. Her one son is still recovering from a traumatic brain injury while the other is going around beating up the homeless and video taping it for kicks and giggles. But instead of hanging her head in shame and despair, Alexia puts on her tight designer dress, a pair of Jimmy Choo’s and hits the reality TV scene. It takes all kinds. Lisa Hochstein quipped that Alexia was now a part of the Three Musketeers along with Ana Quincoces and Marisol Patton. They all came together to help Adriana De Moura pick out a wedding gown but there wasn’t much patience when the bride to be was late as Marisol said, “We need to pick that wedding dress and get the hell out of here.” Minus 15. With friends like these… Adriana’s got bigger issues. Turns out she and Frederic officially got married years ago. As someone who watched her wring her hands all last season over whether or not to marry the guy, all I can say is WTF! She gave some lame excuse that they only got the marriage license but the papers show her as being legally married. That means there had to be a legal ceremony to accompany that license. So if Adriana really wanted a church wedding what was the big rush to have a civil ceremony first? Minus 20 . I smell a scam here. Something about Frederic has always seemed a little off. He’s got that old yacht that but it didn’t look like there’s been much progress made on the renovations since last season. And he’s got the old vintage Rolls Royce that doesn’t start. Plus he’s the one who bailed on the big event with Adriana the first time. Minus 9. Now that’s just embarrassing. And now Adriana’s got wedding competition with Joanna Krupa but something seems off about her romantic bliss as well. Joanna admitted that she and Roman hadn’t had sex in a couple of months, yet he’s buying her expensive cars? I know this makes me a complete cynic but what or should I say who is the cause of the extravagant guilt gifts? Minus 22 . I’m just not buying that Roman hasn’t had sex in two months and is still wearing that silly grin. The ladies all came together for a summit meeting because everyone seemed to have problems with everyone else but Lea Black bailed at the last minute. Minus 15. She’s still angry at Adriana for not having her back at the reunion. As she said, “It’s the silence of your friends that you remember.” Then again, Lea’s busy with other things like remodeling her mansion and getting rid of the pity art she bought from Adriana so she’d make a commission. With Lea MIA, Adriana decided to bicker with Joanna instead. That is until Marysol had enough. First off, Plus 30 because the black Porsche Marysol drove up in was my favorite of the night. And another plus 15 for reminding the ladies how silly their constant cat fights really were. Turns out Mama Elsa was in the hospital recovering from a brain hemorrhage. Mariah Carey wasn’t about to close her eyes to the past when discussing racism and the making of “Lee Daniels’ The Butler” during a press conference at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel on Monday, also attended by Oprah Winfrey and the much of the film’s ensemble cast. Carey recalled she was riding on a Long Island school bus when a student spit on her when she was a child because of the color of her skin. And the foul memory came flooding back while she was making “The Butler.” In the movie, Carey plays the mother of Cecil Gaines (Forest Whitaker), a character based on the White House Butler Eugene Allen, who served presidents for 34 years and retired in 1986. In the early scene of the sweeping period drama about America’s tumultuous racial past as seen through the butler’s eyes, a dissolute plantation owner’s son rapes Mariah’s Georgia sharecropper. Immediately afterwards, the rapist shoots her husband dead in front of their son, Cecil, who has goaded his father to protest the violence against his mother. As traumatic as Mariah’s scene and its aftermath is, what apparently disturbed the singer/actress most was the recreation of the Woolworth’s Lunch Counter sit-in located in North Carolina in 1960. In that emotional moment in the struggle for racial equality, a white woman spits on a black college student (Yaya Alafia) simply for asking to be served at the whites-only counter. “That actually happened to me,” Carey said on Monday. “I know people would be in shock and not really want to believe or accept that, but it did. … That right there, that was almost the deepest thing to me in the movie because I know what she went through — and it happened to be a bus as well. It was a school bus.” Winfrey: “Where somebody spit on you?” Carey: “Yeah. In the face and in the same way.” The daughter of a white Irish American mother and an African American/Venezuelan father that raised her in “safe” suburban Long Island, Carey, 43, still didn’t grow up protected from racial bias. The song lyrics for “Close My Eyes” echo this experience: “I left the worst unsaid; Let it all dissipate; And I try to forget.” In the past, Carey has discussed the fact that her mother Patricia’s family disowned her for marrying a man of color in 1960.
