Scarlett Johansson on Nude Pic Leak: Hey, It’s Not Porn!

Scarlett Johansson has always been so comfortable in her own skin. That’s true even after Christopher Chaney exposed her to the world. The infamous Scarlett Johansson nude photo leak could sent that perv to prison for a long, long time, but the actress doesn’t seem too traumatized. “I know my best angles,” she quipped in an interview for December’s cover of Vanity Fair , responding to the inevitable questions about the scandal. While the We Bought a Zoo star clearly prefers talking about her craft, she did open up about why there were nude pics for a hacker to hack in the first place. “Those are old, from three years ago,” she said. “They were sent to my husband.” Her husband at the time, of course, being Ryan Reynolds. They filed for divorce last December after two years of marriage. He’s now dating Blake Lively . So, as far as celeb nude pics go, they were pretty vanilla – and between spouses. “There’s nothing wrong with that,” the actress continued. “It’s not like I was shooting a porno here … although there’s nothing wrong with that either.” Somewhere, a cash-strapped Lindsay Lohan is getting ideas …

J.R. Martinez on Dancing With the Stars Run: I’m Being Blessed

J.R. Martinez is dominating Dancing With the Stars this season, and it’s not because of his fancy footwork (although he’s certainly not a slouch in that area). His life, featured on People’s cover , is one of triumph and redemption. For millions of Dancing with the Stars fans, there’s never been an easier contender to root for, given his dance moves, personality and compelling life story . “I’m being blessed in so many ways, and it’s because of the energy I’m putting out in the world,” says the All My Children actor, who backs that claim up. J.R. Martinez survived a 2003 explosion while a soldier serving in the U.S. Army in Iraq. The trauma was unimaginable, but worth it in the end, he says. If not for the Humvee he was driving hitting a land mine, “My life would not be what it is today: full of joy, happiness and positivity,” Martinez reflects. Since the explosion, which burned 40 percent of his body and required a grueling 34-month treatment, Martinez made a point to live every day like his last. Whether that earns him a Mirror Ball trophy or not is irrelevant. He’s already embraced and all that life has to offer and become a true role model at age 28. He’s also embraced Karina Smirnoff. A lot. That alone is amazing. When he’s not acting or dancing, Martinez travels the world as a motivational speaker, spreading his positive message of positivity and triumph over adversity. “When you show people who you really are and you’re genuine, you don’t have to force positivity,” says Martinez, who’s confident with the man he’s become. “I’m not your typical person walking down the street. I’m cool with being different.”

Anneka Di Lorenzo, Former Centerfold, Washes Up on California Coast, Puzzling Investigators

When the body of Anneka Di Lorenzo washed up by Camp Pendleton, a Marine Corps in Southern California, investigators believed it was someone quite young. Only later were the remains determined to be those of the 58-year-old former model and actress who once aspired to be “the sexiest woman in the world.” Anneka Di Lorenzo, the 1975 Penthouse Pet of the Year, was found earlier this year in a restricted area of the USMC base with her neck and back broken. What investigators are struggling to determine is how. After becoming Pet of the Year, she acted in Caligula and other films. She dated Penthouse publisher Bob Guccione, who she sued for sexual harassment. She became a nursing assistant after her stint in Hollywood, but she had a history of mental health problems, including paranoia, and was on medications. An autopsy found no drugs in her body, however. Born Anneka Vasta, she was found on rocky sand about a mile south of where her car was recovered. Her Madza was parked overlooking a scenic vista, but not one from which she could have jumped to the water beneath. “The unanswered question that we have is how she got from her vehicle to the water,” NCIS agent Rachel McGranaghan tells the San Diego Union-Tribune . “We know her life ended in the water, in some circumstance, we just don’t know how.” On January 2, two days before her body was found, Anneka rented a room at a Motel 6. There’s no evidence she actually used the room, however. Inside her 2001 Mazda 626 sedan were signs of trauma. A woman’s leopard-print blouse and a sports bra, stained with blood, were wrapped in a plastic bag. A steak knife covered with Vasta’s blood lay on the passenger floorboard. There were slashes on Vasta’s wrist, but not deep enough to kill her. Family members say that Di Lorenzo had a daughter in college whom she spoke with every day, and she would not have committed suicide. They speculate someone may have killed her. As Vasta’s sister, Susan Thoreson, tells the Union-Tribune : “I think something happened when Anneka couldn’t maybe fend for herself.”

A “Lil Positivity”: Man Without Arms Or Legs Is Set To Climb 20,000 Ft. Up Mount Kilimanjaro

Here’s a lil Friday morning inspiration: A congenital birth defect left 25-year-old Kyle Maynard a quadruple amputee, but that won’t stop him from braving one of the toughest physical tests a person can face — the nearly 20,000 foot climb up Mount Kilimanjaro. Though Maynard’s arms end at his elbows and his legs stop at his knees, he will use no assistive device to climb the highest peak in Africa. He’ll make the climb using only pieces of bicycle tire taped to the ends of his limbs with heavy duty tape. “This is something I’ve wanted to do for years, just because of the level of the challenge. The harder something is, the better the experience tends to be on the other end once you get through it,” Maynard told ABCnews.com. Maynard has traveled the world as a motivational speaker, competed as a mixed martial artist and a wrestler and owns his own cross fit gym in Suwanee, Ga., but he says that Kilimanjaro will be the hardest feat he’s ever tried. A main mission behind the climb will be to “send a message” to veterans who have been disabled and to disabled children around the world “to show that there are challenges in life, but it doesn’t mean that you have to give up. You decide how you’re going to draw meaning from the challenges in your life.” The climbing team for “Mission Kilimanjaro 2012″ will consist of both “able-bodied” and “disabled” civilians and veterans who will set out on an approximately 16-day ascent in January. Before the climb they will be visiting the Mwereni Integrated School for the Blind in Moshi, Tanzania, where they will deliver $25,000 worth of donated medical supplies to the school. Among the climbing team will be several veterans who live with physical disabilities, traumatic brain injury or post traumatic stress disorder. Maynard explains that wounded veterans have made a “huge impact” on his life. He writes on the mission’s website: “I am climbing for the people who may realize how much potential they have in their lives. I am climbing to pay tribute to my heroes — the men and women of the United States Armed Forces who have sacrificed so much to preserve my freedom.” Amazing. We wish him the best of luck. Source

The Recession Is TOO Real: Study Shows Number Of Child Abuse Leading To Head Injury Has Gone Up Because Of It

This is so sad… Rates of abusive head trauma in children under age 5 rose during the last recession, suggesting that economic woes may have led parents to lash out against their kids, researchers reported Monday in the journal Pediatrics. The data also suggest that physicians today may want to be extra vigilant for signs of child abuse as economic conditions remain in the doldrums, the team wrote. The notion that economic hardship leads to increases in child abuse is not new — scientific research and anecdotal reports have long shown a relationship. For example, the Los Angeles Times reported during the recession in 1994 about increases in child abuse and neglect in Los Angeles County. In recent years, the co-authors noted in the Pediatrics study, articles in the popular press including this one and this one have again stoked concerns that abuse was on the rise as the economy worsened. Hoping to better understand the relationship, Dr. Rachel Berger of the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and her co-authors reviewed medical records of children under 5 years old with abusive head trauma in three regions — six counties in the Seattle area, 23 counties in western Pennsylvania, and 45 counties in Ohio and northern Kentucky — between Jan. 1, 2004, and June 30, 2009. Roughly the first four years of that period preceded the recession; the last 19 months coincided with it. A total of 422 children in the studied regions, 58% of them boys, were treated for abusive head trauma during the research period. Their average age was 8.9 months; more than three-fourths were less than a year old. Sixty-three percent went to a pediatric ICU. Sixteen percent died. All three areas had significant increases in abusive head trauma during the recession. Put together, the annual rate of the injuries went up from 8.9 per 100,000 before the recession to 14.7 per 100,000 during the recession, the team reported. The researchers did not find any correlation between unemployment rates in the counties and abusive head trauma. They speculated that this might be because official unemployment figures exclude people who are underemployed, people who are discouraged in their job searches and others who might be under economic pressure. But them shady a** Republicans have the audacity to talk about “class warfare” ?? Source

Who Will Mourn Gwyneth Paltrow’s Status as a Leading Lady?

Gwyneth Paltrow has a habit of saying things that inspire me to take notes, fill a bulletin board with theories, and question my own feelings . Today’s incendiary soundbite: a seemingly off-the-cuff remark from the Cee Lo foil regarding the roles she takes : “I have little kids, and I’m a full-time mom. I really only do small parts.” Considering her role in Contagion is a short one — she’s only in the first 15 minutes — and her newly announced ensemble role in Stuart Blumberg’s upcoming sex addiction comedy Thanks for Sharing , is it possible that we should be mourning her status as a leading lady? Will you attend the memorial?

Question Of The Day: How Would Your Child Know This Person Wasn’t Born A Man???

A bunch of uptight, bible-belt-y moms have decided to wage war against the good folks at ABC for allowing Chaz Bono to appear on “Dancing With The Stars” with a female partner. These mothers and general LGBT haters feel like watching Chaz on DWTS would be traumatizing to children. They also feel like this is just another attempt to the LGBT lifestyle onto people who think its wrong. But our question is: how would your child know that Chaz Bono wasn’t born a man unless you told him or her? And for the kids who are big enough to know, don’t they kind of already know what’s up?
