By Rob Markman 50 Cent Photo: A month after 50 Cent was hospitalized with a blockage in his small intestine, Fif was back in the hospital Tuesday morning (June 26), this time after a car accident. He has since been released and is back on the mend. “Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson was involved in a car accident in New York early Tuesday morning. He was taken to New York Hospital Queens where he was treated for minor neck and back injuries,” said a spokesperson for the rapper in a statement given to MTV News. “He was released this morning and is doing fine.” The rapper’s website Thisis50 broke the story early Tuesday morning, though the details are thin. The site reported that the Get Rich or Die Tryin’ MC’s bullet-proof SUV almost flipped over after it was rear-ended by a Mack truck while driving on the Long Island Expressway in New York City. The site published multiple pictures of 50 on a stretcher with a neck brace. There are also pictures of 50’s mangled SUV as well as photos of the truck that is said to have caused the accident. 50 famously survived a 2000 attack in which he was shot nine times and in 2003 dropped his classic major-label debut Get Rich or Die Tryin’. Fif has since built himself as one of rap’s biggest draws and smartest business minds, crafting lucrative deals in music and merchandising. Fif’s latest mixtape The Lost Tape was released in May and on July 3 the G-Unit Records CEO will be releasing his oft-delayed fifth studio album 5 (Murder By Numbers) . Amid a storm of controversy, Pasay City Mayor Antonino Calixto said she did not violate conditions of the special permit granted for the performance after the content, while provocative, was deemed part of artistic expression . The “Poker Face” singer certainly didn’t tone down her outrageous stage theatrics, either, despite critics in the predominantly Catholic nation seeking to have the shows canceled; protesters even held a prayer vigil outside the concert venue. Gaga, who was banned in Indonesia and also sparked protests in Korea , emerged from a Gothic castle set astride a black unicorn surrounded by gun-toting dancers … while at another point a wall of meat carcasses hung behind her. As she flung herself headfirst into a fake grinder. Obviously. Another bizarre moment saw the diva appear as a “headless bride” levitating over the stage, and donning her trademark bra with gun barrels for cones. The best news? With her first album, we saw the Harajuku Barbie and Amber Rose get their “Thelma & Louise” on in the “Massive Attack” clip, and then saw Nicki the Ninja fight for her man in the “Your Love” video. In the clip for “Fly,” the reigning rap queen sang alongside Rihanna in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, and then, in the bright and cheery “Super Bass” vid, she proved that even the baddest Barbs just want to have fun. Makes you wonder what Nicki has in store visually for her sophomore LP, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded , in stores Tuesday (April 3). We’ve already gotten the Hype Williams-directed “Stupid Hoe,” but there is no telling what Nicki will do next — though we’ll soon find out. “You’re getting two videos: You’re getting the ‘Starships’ video, which I’m hoping it will hurry up and happen,” she told MTV News on Thursday after her “American Idol” performance in L.A. Fans have already gotten a small taste of the ‘Starships’ vid thanks to the set pics that leaked earlier this month of Nicki in a pink bikini, but the Young Money hitmaker still has to do color corrections before the visual is complete. Minaj plans to first release the video for her 2 Chainz-assisted single “Beez in the Trap.” “I actually finished the editing for ‘Beez in the Trap,’ which features 2 Chainz, and … I love that video,” Nicki gushed. She guessed the ‘Beez in the Trap’ clip would come out Tuesday in conjunction with her album release, but couldn’t say with 100 percent confidence. Regardless of its drop date though, Nicki promised quality. “It’s real sexy,” she boasted. “There’s a clean version and an explicit version, and it’s goin’ to be poppin’.” To celebrate Tuesday’s (April 3) release of Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded , we will be examining the “Evolution of Nicki Minaj” throughout the week.
