Monsters University’s New Logo: A Little Sophomoric

I know everyone’s rankings of Pixar’s best movies are all wrong except mine, but I hope we can agree that Monsters, Inc. clocks in near the top of the list. Keep your self-important WALL *E and your maudlin Finding Nemo ; I think the imagination of Monsters, Inc (and that insane door world) bests them both. Now that you’ve agreed, let’s observe the logo for the 2012 sequel Monsters University . It better be temporary.

Twilight Filmmakers Beg Fans to Stop Looking at Leaked Breaking Dawn Sex Photos

Yesterday, tragedy struck the production of Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn in the form of leaked stills depicting Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) consummating their relationship between the sheets. Movieline wondered whether the raciness of the images might actually win the franchise more fans but it appears the production team isn’t willing to take that risk.

Which Washed-Up ’90s Rapper Will Star Opposite Adam Sandler in I Hate You, Dad?

In case you haven’t heard, Adam Sandler is busy casting his next film I Hate You, Dad , about “a father who moves in with his son and his fiancee, only to immediately start feuding with the bride-to-be.” Sandler will play the father (obviously), Andy Samberg will play the son and Leighton Meester has just joined the cast as the troublesome fiancee. Will Alien-Free Marketing, Lack of 3D, and Tonal Ambiguity Make Cowboys & Aliens a Tough Sell?

When it comes to conventions, Jon Favreau is nothing if not a man of the nerd people. Mindful of how much he owes to the Comic-Con faithful for jump-starting early word of mouth on the Iron Man franchise, he came to San Francisco this weekend with a treat: Nine minutes of footage from Cowboys & Aliens cut exclusively for the WonderCon audience, including a special reveal of the film’s big, bad aliens — aliens that Favreau otherwise intends to keep under wraps.

Justin Bieber Threatening to Star in a Coming-Of-Age Comedy With Ashton Kutcher

Ever since Justin Bieber proved that he is more popular than Michael Jackson at the box office, film studios have been feverishly plotting ways to get the Never Say Never subject back into the multiplex. (I think.) Among the options explored: kidnapping the star and asking for a thirty-picture deal as ransom, developing 4-D technology just so that they can re-release Never Say Never in another dimension, and casting the musician in a buddy comedy with Ashton Kutcher.
