TV Week in Review: Who’s Knocked Up?

A pregnancy. A fatherly debut. And a terrific season finale. It was a strong week in television and, via our friends at TV Fanatic, THG is here to recap the highlights… ON SUNDAY , Rick took a road trip on The Walking Dead . ON MONDAY , Carrie had her secret life exposed on The Carrie Diaries , while Ryan Hardy once again failed to bring down his nemesis on The Following . ON TUESDAY , we learned the identity of Drew Thompson on Justified Season 4 , while White Collar bid farewell to its own fourth season and Spencer continued to lose it on Pretty Little Liars . ON WEDNESDAY , The Americans continued to impress, while Gus found a love interest on Psych . ON THURSDAY , we met Jeff’s father on Community and were shocked to learn Rachel is pregnant on Glee Season 4 . ON FRIDAY , Grimm returned from a long hiatus and Danny got yet another new partner on Blue Bloods .

Is the King of All Media preparing to conquer a new realm? With rumors circulating that Jay Leno will announce his retirement this May and hand over reigns of The Tonight Show to Jimmy Fallon in 2014, The New York Post now reports that NBC has already selected its ideal replacement for the 12:35 a.m. time slot: Howard Stern. Sources tell the newspaper Stern is being “groomed” by the network to move into late night television, as executives are thrilled with his work on America’s Got Talent . Are you down with this idea? Kathy Bates Cast on American Horror Story Season 3

Ryan Murphy has hooked an Oscar winner. Kathy Bates will portray a pivotal role on American Horror Story Season 3 , multiple sources confirm, coming on board the unusual FX drama in a mysterious role. All we know is this: Bates will portray the best friend of a character played by fellow acting heavyweight Jessica Lange, only to eventually turn on her pal. Murphy says the role will be the most evil of Bates’ impressive career. The third season of American Horror Story will feature many of the same cast members as the first two, but will be set in modern times. Viewers can also expect some kind of Romeo-and-Juliet romance to play out, but little else is known about what’s to come. New episodes of the series will air on FX in October.

Kristen Wiig Cast on Arrested Development Season 4

Stop whatever you are doing and do the chicken dance, THGers. This is amazing news. Kristen Wiig has landed a unique role on Arrested Development Season 4 , as Vulture confirms the beloved actress will come on board the returning sitcom as a young version of Lucille Bluth . Like we said: amazing. Following years off the air, Arrested Development will return in May on a special deal with Netflix. All Season 4 episodes will be released on the same day and each will focus on a different member of TV’s funniest family. These will then lead into an eventual Arrested Development movie. Need we say it again? Okay: AMAZING.

The Today Show Chooses Kris Jenner Over 9/11 Tribute

Turns out, the Ann Curry firing debacle was NOT the lowest point to which The Today Show could sink. At 8:46 a.m. today – the time at which the first place hit the World Trade Center 11 years ago – New York City and Washington, D.C. held a moment of silence in memory of 9/11. All the cable networks, Good Morning America and CBS This Morning all provided coverage of the tribute. The Today Show aired an interview with Kris Jenner. In NBC’s defense, Jenner touched on her decision to air footage of herself getting breast implants reduced, telling Savanna Guthrie of the filmed procedure and why she’s a role model: It’s necessary to “change them after 10 years… it was so important, health-wise, to remind women to check your expiration date because it’s a health risk.” Jenner also spoke on the relationship between Kanye West and Kim Kardashian , labeling the rapper as a a “really a great guy” and adding: “I think they are well suited for each other and I think they are really, really happy and anybody who has kids knows that when your kids are happy, you are happy.” So it’s not like Today chose to run meaningless, ratings-grabbing fluff in lieu of honoring the victims of our nation’s most horrific tragedy. True Blood debuted fresh footage from Season 5 and talked about a great deal of sex to come at yesterday’s Comic-Con Q&A. The cast and creator of everyone’s favorite HBO thriller gathered in Ballroom 20 in front of thousands of fans and Alan Ball held little back in terms of the between-the-sheets shenanigans on tap. “There are definitely some very hot sex scenes, and there are some wacky, ‘What The F–k?’ sex scenes. And between those two, I think all will be satisfied,” Ball teased. Sit back now and take a bite out of the following new promo. But consider yourself warned: True Blood spoilers ahead!
