Jersey Shore star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino is being taunted at clubs for being sober as he films Season 6 of the MTV show, reports say. It was a wild weekend for the cast – Deena Cortese got arrested on Sunday for disorderly conduct – and the gang also got into a big bar fight. But The Situation, who checked into rehab earlier this year because he was battling a prescription pill problem, is battling some issues as well. Sitch denies he has an alcohol problem, which has been widely reported, but whether he does or not, he hasn’t been drinking in Seaside. That’s been fodder for the peanut gallery every night of the week. “Mike has been consistently taunted by other club goers for not drinking,” a show insider says. “[Situation] has been handling it pretty well but it does get embarrassing and awkward for him to consistently be harassed for it.” “Mike was being heckled Friday before the fight broke out. It’s been harder for him to deal with because his sobriety is still rather new. However, Mike absolutely hasn’t been drinking or taking pills and is committed to sobriety.” At the same time, “Mike isn’t going to stay home and not go to clubs.” Interestingly, despite their lengthy and at times violent feuds, Mike and Snooki, who’s pregnant and sober, have found common ground . “Don’t be surprised if you see Mike spend a lot of time at Snooki’s beach house,” where she’s living apart from the cast, the source said. “Snooki has actually been very supportive of Mike and what he’s going through; the two are working on mending fences in their relationship.” The two fought constantly last season over whether Mike saw Snooki nude or not and whether he should tell Jionni LaValle about it. ‘I’ve played my new record for my label and will be announcing my new Album Title in September!’ Gaga tweets. The singer, currently on her controversial Born This Way Tour , tweeted that she will make the announcement this fall. “Exciting news little monsters! I’ve played my new record for my label and will be announcing my new Album Title in September! X,” she wrote. Gaga has, in fact, been playing the record for her bosses and inner circle. She also revealed on Twitter that she spun the new music, her follow-up to 2011’s Born This Way, for her longtime pal Lady Starlight. And her co-manager Vincent Herbert had some of his own teases for Little Monsters in an interview he gave late last month. “[It’s] just [an] insane, great record. She’s on tour right now, but it’s just going to be a great record. Look out for the unexpected when it comes to her,” he said. “We’re doing it on the road right now, so it’s a little hard, but it’s going to be great.” Though it’s unclear how far along in the recording process she is for the release, in an interview with MTV News in December, she already had the highly anticipated album title in mind. “I’ve started writing it and I have the name for it and all the concepts are beginning to flourish and take place,” she said. “I’m excited to put it out, but it’s not done yet. So I’ll put it out when it’s done.” Her producer, Fernando Garibay, confirmed in a separate interview last year that Mother Monster would be working on the album while on tour. “I get a little bit of anxiety thinking about that right now. I wanna just always try to outdo ourselves, our songs. They’re already incredible songs. ‘I wouldn’t dare come on your stage and say something negative about Hot 97,’ Minaj says in heated radio interview. By Nadeska Alexis Nicki Minaj Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images Hip-hop beefs come and go, and while some battles are fought lyrically and others are resolved under wraps, once in awhile they need to be aired out on public radio. Nicki Minaj called in to New York City’s Hot 97 on Monday night to do the latter, and she demanded that her conversation with DJ Funkmaster Flex be aired uncut and unedited. The YMCMB rapper was tuning in to address the controversy that started on Sunday when she pulled out of Hot 97’s annual Summer Jam concert in New Jersey after a brief tweet from Lil Wayne that read, “Young Money ain’t doing summer jam.” Word had gotten back to Weezy that Hot 97 personality Peter Rosenberg had disrespected Minaj, calling her single “Starships” “wack” and panning it for not being “real hip-hop.” To fans who were not at the show or watching the Summer Jam live stream, the first indication that things had gone sour were a series of tweets from Minaj’s account such as, “Wow. U ni–az just f—ed up history. But the President has spoken. #YMCMB.” During their heated discussion, which opened with Flex admitting that they’d already been arguing for an hour, Nicki Minaj was adamant in insisting that Rosenberg chose the wrong time and place to voice his negative opinions. “It’s not about his opinion, because I have opinions about DJs on Hot 97 and I have opinions on Hot 97,” she said. “But when it’s about us uniting people [for] your show, I wouldn’t dare come on your stage and say something negative about Hot 97, leading up to that concert.” “My fans at Summer Jam didn’t appreciate his comments, nor did my fans who were watching the live stream appreciate his comments,” she added. “This is streaming to the world. Nicki Minaj opened up that stream to show to kids in London and Paris. It was hosted on my website and those requests came from your station. I posted the links.” Flex countered that Nicki was overreacting when she listened to Lil Wayne and pulled out of the show, and he accused her of riling up fans on Twitter before dealing with the issue internally. But Minaj wasn’t having any of it, maintaining that what Weezy says goes. “I don’t go against the president of my label. Before I had New York radio, I had Wayne,” she said emphatically. “I will never go against Wayne. I can’t believe after all these years, he’s still teaching me. After a man goes onstage and disrespects me and tries to rile people up, I still was going on that stage, and shame on me. Lil Wayne gave me a valuable lesson in self-worth. He tweeted before he called me, and when I spoke to him he said, ‘Nick, we ain’t doing that show.’ ” Minaj explained that the attack felt extra-vindictive since she was the only woman on the roster (but not because she was the only woman on the roster), and plenty of yelling and screaming took place, sometimes punctuated by Minaj repeating Flex’s name slowly, in an effort to calm him down. One final issue that she needed to address was Flex’s earlier radio rant, when he defended Rosenberg and Hot 97 and made questionable remarks about her music sales . “When you give stats to the world, people listen to you, and it’s important that people know Nicki Minaj is actually out here selling records, singles and making money for Universal,” she said, rattling off the sales numbers she’s raked in with Pink Friday and Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, topping it off with my favorite line, “I get money.” It wouldn’t be completely accurate to say that things ended on a positive note, but it seems like Minaj had the upper hand here. Flex admitted that Rosenberg could’ve picked a better time to criticize her, and she still stuck by Wayne’s decision to pull her out of the show, reiterating, “This is my hometown. Monaghan tweets that his former ‘Lost’ co-star has ‘often’ abused women; a source close to Fox denies the claims to TMZ. By Jocelyn Vena Dominic Monaghan and Matthew Fox Photo: Getty Images Dominic Monaghan had some heated words for his former “Lost” co-star Matthew Fox on Twitter over the weekend. It all stemmed from a fan asking Monaghan to persuade Fox to tweet more. “He beats women. No thanks,” he told the fan, @omggbeccaa. Monaghan was seemingly referring to an allegation by a female Cleveland party-bus driver who filed a personal-injury suit against Fox last year after he allegedly punched her in the groin when she refused to take him back to his hotel. Prosecutors never filed charges against the actor, and Fox has since countersued the woman for defamation. After Monaghan’s initial tweet to her, the fan responded, “I KNOW IT WAS WRONG BUT WHAT?! WHAT ABOUT ALL THOSE GOOD TIMES YOU HAD TOGETHER?!” He tweeted back, “How do you know we ever did?you don’t know either of us.he beats women.not isolated incidents.often.not interested.” Regarding the Cleveland woman’s claim against Fox, the actor added, “An accusation is when you’claim’ someone did something wrong.i know.but hey little fan girl maybe want to get slapped around by him? Daddy issues? Blinded by the nice haircut? It’s never okay. Maybe you have lower standards.” As the heated conversation came to an end, the fan responded, “Sorry about the matthew fox thing stay awesome,” before she began receiving threats from people who accused her of condoning abuse. “To clear things up- when i wrote that tweet i had no idea it would get that kind of a response from dom.. after that tweet, i wrote back without even thinking- in that moment i was just diassapointed- so for those of you who are saying that i think it is okay to ‘beat women’ you are wrong, so please stop with the hate tweets,” she wrote. “i respect doms opinion, just not the way he handled the response.” According to TMZ , since the exchange went down over the weekend, a source close to Fox said he has never beaten a woman, despite Monaghan’s Twitter allegations. The source added that the actors haven’t spoken in years and never had any huge arguments that would lead to Monaghan’s Twitter tirade. Fox’s rep has yet to comment. In 2010, Monaghan portrayed an abusive boyfriend in Eminem ‘s “Love the Way You Lie” video alongside Megan Fox. “I think we tried as hard as we could to not glorify the violence, to try and explain that this was a relationship that is by no means ideal and a relationship that probably should have ended a lot sooner than it did,” Monaghan told MTV News in 2011 about his role in the controversial clip. Of Em’s own history with violence , Monaghan added, “He has a very good handle on his anger. He’s able to channel it very easily. Instead of hiding behind it or pretending that there’s something else going on, he actually is able to pinpoint where his anger is coming from.”
