Taylor Lautner On Honeymoon Scene: ‘It’s About Time’

‘I’ve seen Edward and Bella go through a lot so far, so I feel like I was kind of ready to see this,’ Lautner tells MTV News. By Tiffany Miles, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner in “Breaking Dawn, Part 1” Photo: Summit Entertainment Of all the buzz surrounding this week’s hugely anticipated release of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1,” the vast majority of fan rumblings and excitement have been about and for one scene and one scene only: the “honeymoon scene,” a.k.a. Bella and Edward’s sex scene. It’s a different story for the actors involved, specifically for Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart , who have talked at length about how awkward filming the scene was. Their co-stars seem to be onboard with their enthusiasm for the “action,” however. When MTV News caught up with Taylor Lautner recently, he said he was ready for it. “I’ve seen Edward and Bella go through a lot so far, so I feel like I was kind of ready to see this,” Lautner said. “I think everybody will feel the same way. We’ve seen Edward and Bella in their relationship grow so much that it’s about time.” “Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer told us at the “Breaking Dawn” premiere that the scene in the movie gives fans a lot more to see and think about than she did in the book. “I think it’s romantic, and it does give you more than the book does,” Meyer said. “I know some of the sites call it, instead of ‘fade to black,’ ‘fade to sad.’ They’d love to see more. I think this gives them that,” she said. “It gives them a romantic peek into the honeymoon. We don’t want to see too much.” Although everyone seems to be excited to see the honeymoon scene, Lautner still isn’t sure that Bella made the right decision when she chose Edward over his character, Jacob Black. When asked if he thought Bella made the wrong call, he jokingly said, “You know, I go back and forth with that one [question] still.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . ‘Rock of Ages’ Director Tried To Get Robert Pattinson

‘There were a million times when we were supposed to get together and talk, but the dude is so busy,’ Adam Shankman tells MTV News. By Kevin P. Sullivan, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson Photo: Getty Images At the Hollywood premiere of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1,” Tinseltown was abuzz with all things Kristen Stewart , Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner . Even Adam Shankman , director of the upcoming movie musical “Rock of Ages,” couldn’t help but gush about Pattinson in particular. “Rob is a good singer. There were times during the ‘Rock of Ages’ casting process [we thought of him], and he was never available,” Shankman told MTV News’ Josh Horowitz. “That just was never able to happen. There were a million times when we were supposed to get together and talk, but the dude is so busy.” Aside from not being able to land Pattinson for a role, Shankman said the musical will indeed rock — so much so that even the men out there will enjoy it. “The movie really is like a musical for straight guys,” Shankman laughed. “Guys are going to be super pumped to go with their girlfriends.” Though the film’s casting process snagged headlines early on, we haven’t heard or seen too much from “Rock of Ages,” but Shankman said that should change soon, when a trailer arrives this month. The director said the wait will be worth it for all of the craziness we’ll end up seeing. “It is a batsh– crazy movie,” he said. “It is a ride from beginning to end; it is giant movie stars singing classic-rock karaoke in ’80s drag having the time of their lives. It’s just a big party.” The one thing we have seen from the film is an official snapshot of Tom Cruise , rocking out, minus a shirt, and at the premiere, Shankman hyped up the “Mission: Impossible” star’s rock abilities. “For Tom, well, I would say he does an insane version of ‘Pour Some Sugar on Me,’ that every time I show it to people, they’re like, ‘Can we see that again?’ ” Shankman said. According to the director, things get even more heated when Cruise teams up with Malin Akerman for a power ballad. “He and Malin Akerman do one of the most outrageous interpretations of ‘I Want to Know What Love Is’; I just hope I get it past the ratings board,” he said. The number is so out-there, according to Shankman, that he considers it the craziest thing he’s directed. “[Malin] is fearless, she’s awesome,” he said. “We knew you couldn’t tell jokes about rockers in the ’80s halfway, so it’s very funny, but it’s also sexy and it’s a little insane. I’ve never made anything that is that nuts. Taylor Lautner’s Werewolf Grows Up In ‘Breaking Dawn’

‘I’m always continuing to grow and learn more about myself each and every day, so I can definitely relate to that,’ actor tells MTV News. By Kevin P. Sullivan, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner in “Breaking Dawn – Part 1” Photo: Summit Entertainment Eventually, all werewolves have to grow up. Jacob learns that lesson during the finale of the “Twilight” series, “Breaking Dawn,” and as it turns out, the man behind Jacob, Taylor Lautner , has been learning the same lesson each and every day. MTV News’ Josh Horowitz sat down with Lautner while he was promoting the penultimate “Twilight” release, set to hit theaters Friday. Lautner said the Jacob we see in “Breaking Dawn” is a whole other type of animal. “It was really exciting for me, because Jacob in this movie is very different than he ever has been, so I was a little nervous. I was excited,” he said. For Lautner, “Breaking Dawn” was a chance for each of the film’s characters to show a different side, but he admitted that he struggled particularly with Jacob. “It’s really amazing to see all of the characters, really, in a different light than you’ve ever seen them before,” Lautner said. “But Jacob was a challenge in this movie, being pulled in two totally different directions and kind of being the middle man. He has to make a decision: which side are you going to choose?” In “Breaking Dawn,” Jacob must decide between his loyalties to Bella and her unborn vampire child and his wolf pack, a very adult decision for a teenage werewolf to make. Lautner himself still has his moments of immaturity but said it’s all part of the bigger picture. “I have my kid-fun moments, I guess, but I would say it’s a good mixture. I don’t think you’ve ever found exactly who you are,” he said. “I’m always continuing to grow and learn more about myself each and every day, so I can definitely relate to that.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . ‘Breaking Dawn’ Bridal Gown ‘Moved’ Kristen Stewart

‘I was very flattered I was asked to do it,’ designer Carolina Herrera tells MTV News of Stephenie Meyer’s personal request. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in “Breaking Dawn – Part 1” Photo: Summit Of all the big reveals in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” that don’t involve the words “sex” and “scene,” fans are dying to see Bella’s wedding dress. It’s been one of the most closely guarded film secrets in recent memory, and rightly so, according to author Stephenie Meyer , who told us the key ingredient to the wedding scene was Kristen Stewart looking “gorgeous” and “unbelievable” in that dress. Thankfully, come Friday, the secret will officially be out. MTV News was lucky enough to get a few details about said dress from legendary fashion designer Carolina Herrera at the film’s premiere Monday night, as she led us through the process for how she ended up with the coveted task. “I was called by Stephenie Meyer. We had to discuss a lot, but I was very inspired by her book and the description of the wedding,” Herrera said. “I was very flattered I was asked to do it; it’s a big scene for me.” Herrera said she loves the romance and the idea of true love as depicted in the book and that she was happy to be a part of such a magical scene. She also spoke to the importance and delicacy in designing wedding dresses in general. “Wedding dresses are different, because you have to know that it’s the most important day in the life of a woman,” she said. “You have to please the bride first of all, and it has to be a secret. I cannot talk about the dress before the groom sees it. I treated [Kristen Stewart’s Bella] like every other bride,” she admitted. “I think [Stewart] was very moved when she tried it on. And that means a lot, because she felt that it was the right one.” Given her pleasant experience with the film’s wedding dress, might Herrera consider designing something for Stewart in real life? “Why not? If she asked me, absolutely,” Herrera said with a smile, but added that Stewart doesn’t need to by styled by anyone. “She knows exactly what she wants to wear. … You can wear anything at21. You don’t need any advice. When you are Kristen Stewart, you can wear whatever you want.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Twilight and Photoshop, Forever: A Brief History of Weird Posters

The marketing blitz accompanying this week’s Breaking Dawn release has prompted a bit of nostalgia about The Twilight Saga around Movieline HQ — particularly its eminently intriguing movie posters. Gone is the quaint patina of the original 2008 film, with sultry, semi-known Robert Pattinson locking his poo-colored gaze and clay-like visage on virginal, vaguely known Kristen Stewart, both doctored with minimalist Photoshop fervor. But gone, too (for now, anyway), are the hilariously earnest, carefully manipulated one-sheets from New Moon and Eclipse — the hand-mangling, the cock-blocking, the stank-eyed cast of thousands. In fact, the new posters look like photographs of actual people ! Very attractive and heavily airbrushed people in romance-novel clutches, but people nonetheless. Charlize Theron Praises Kristen Stewart’s ‘Lovely’ Qualities

‘Kristen is just living this to the max and still has a sense of humor about it,’ her ‘Snow White’ co-star tells Vogue. By Jocelyn Vena Charlize Theron on the cover of Vogue Photo: Vogue Charlize Theron may be Kristen Stewart ‘s archnemesis in the forthcoming “Snow White and the Huntsman,” but in real life, her feelings about the “Breaking Dawn” star are far more warm and fuzzy. “She just turned 21,” said Theron, who plays the Evil Queen in the film, about her young co-star in a Vogue interview. “She’s a child. “When I think about myself at 21,” the actress said, recalling her own early days in Hollywood, “I had just done ‘The Devil’s Advocate,’ and [co-star] Keanu [Reeves] had paparazzi following him, and Al Pacino said this thing to me: ‘If I knew that my life would be under this kind of scrutiny, I would have never become an actor.’ And I thought, ‘Wow.’ I couldn’t comprehend it.” Theron went on to tell the magazine that Stewart is handling life in the public eye with grace. “Kristen is just living this to the max and still has a sense of humor about it. There’s this really lovely quality about her that just doesn’t give a f—,” she said. “A lot of people say they don’t, but then they go home and cry and pop a Xanax. Kristen actually doesn’t give a f—. That’s what’s so refreshing about her.” Of course, given her role as Snow White’s foe in next year’s “SWATH,” Theron is enjoying how differently their onscreen relationship will play out. “I’m looking forward to killing her and taking her beauty,” the actress joked. “That’s what happens, right?” On Monday night at the red-carpet premiere in Los Angeles for “Breaking Dawn – Part 1,” Snow White herself opened up to MTV News about her highly anticipated flick, in which she plays a sword-wielding version of the classic fairy tale heroine. “I’m so enigmatic. You’ll [have to] see,” Stewart told us, before teasing about doing a British accent, “It’s not so easy! I would need to drop into character and I have no time to build!” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” and “Snow White and the Huntsman.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . ‘Breaking Dawn’ Birth ‘Emotional’ For Stephenie Meyer

‘Twilight’ author also raves to MTV News about wedding and honeymoon — and reveals whether she’ll write more about Bella and Edward. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Stephenie Meyer Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images Of all the lovely and talented stars we feature in our exhaustive efforts to cover anything and everything in the world of “Twilight,” it’s a rare treat to talk to the woman responsible for it all: author-turned-producer Stephenie Meyer. MTV News was lucky enough to catch up with the lady, the myth, the legend during our “Breaking Dawn – Part 1” premiere live stream Monday night (November 14), when we covered hot topics such as the wedding and honeymoon, the birth scene and whether Meyer will ever write another “Twilight”-themed story or book. “With the wedding, I worked pretty closely with [screenwriter] Melissa [Rosenberg],” Meyer said. “We talked about it, how it needed to be like a really beautiful traditional ceremony, nothing outlandish, just simple and old-fashioned and romantic, and then [director] Bill [Condon] brought in the vision of what it should look like, and the production designer just made such a gorgeous midsummer night’s dream for us. And then the final element was Kristen [Stewart] in the wedding dress. She was so gorgeous, she was unbelievable.” Fun fact about the wedding scene: Meyer has a cameo, which she assured us was not her idea. “Bill really wanted those of us who’d been there from the beginning [in the scene],” she said. “It was nice to be at Bella’s wedding; that was great. Being on camera — not so much.” Moving right along to arguably the film’s most-anticipated scene: the honeymoon, which Meyer said she wanted all along to be romantic above everything else. “I think it’s romantic, and it does give you more than the book does. I know some of the sites call it, instead of ‘fade to black,’ ‘fade to sad.’ they’d love to see more. I think this gives them that,” she said. “It gives them a romantic peek into the honeymoon. We don’t want to see too much.” Another scene in which the filmmakers incorporated a less-is-more approach was during the very intense birth scene, which Meyer said was so emotional that people shed a bunch of tears during filming. “It was so emotional. It wasn’t like a horror movie or anything. It has those elements, but it really brought out that feeling of losing the person that means the most to you. We were getting teary on set, which doesn’t happen very much after a long day of shooting,” she said. “That moment really was strong.” And finally, the question on all “Twilight” fans’ minds all the time: After the final movie opens and things are all said and done, will Meyer return to her characters and continue the story? “I don’t know,” she said. “Every now and then I tinker around with old manuscripts, because I can’t leave them alone even though it’s too late and they’re printed. There are little things. I’ve been recently doing comedies and stuff; it’s a nice change. Maybe it will cleanse the palate and I’ll get back to it.” So once the palate is cleansed, might she consider publishing the much-discussed, fan-pined-for book from Edward’s perspective, “Midnight Sun”? “Maybe. I get that [question] a lot,” Meyer said. “My mother [asks] every day. She would love for me to do that. I know a lot of people will love that. I have to get to a place where I can write it.” Stick with MTV News as we roll out even more from our “Breaking Dawn” premiere live stream! Breaking Dawn Premiere-Off: Ashley Tisdale vs. Jennifer Love Hewitt

You don’t need to star in Breaking Dawn to appear on the red carpet of the Breaking Dawn premiere. Ashley Tisdale and Jennifer Love Hewitt are very happy about that, too. Both beautiful young actresses attended the popular event at the Nokia Theatre last night, donning very different outfits.
