Kristen Stewart Says She Shares Fans’ ‘Passion’ For ‘Twilight Saga’

‘I feel like I’m one of them,’ she tells MTV News at ‘Eclipse’ L.A. premiere. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Kristen Stewart Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images Kristen Stewart has come a long way from the shy, anxious actress fans and reporters first encountered around the time of the first “Twilight” film’s release. When MTV News caught up with the saga’s heroine on the “Eclipse” premiere’s black carpet Thursday night (June 24), Stewart was all smiles and visibly bubbly with positive energy. “I actually am quite excited,” she said about being at the premiere. “I don’t know why I’m not nervous. I think we’ve done a bunch of these events now, and I’ve always said that the energy is always undeniable, but right now, it feels positive and great.” Stewart acknowledged the consistent fan support as one of the “Twilight”-related gifts for which she’s most grateful. “It’s cool for me, because I’ve never had this [amount of fan support] on any of my movies, and I feel like I’m one of them,” she said. “I feel like we share the exact same passion for this thing. It feels weird to be at the head of it, but it’s cool, I’ll roll with it.” Earlier in the night, MTV News chatted with “Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer , who was glad that she wasn’t in Stewart’s shoes. “I’m so not used to this,” Meyer admitted when asked about the size and scope of the “Eclipse” premiere. “I only do this kind of thing once a year. The rest of the time, I am totally incognito. It’s nice to be the author, let me tell you. It’s so much easier than being the actor!” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . ‘Twilight’ Author Stephenie Meyer ‘Very Happy’ With ‘Eclipse’ Film

‘It’s so much fun to watch,’ she says of the third movie in the series. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Stephenie Meyer Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images When it comes to satisfying “Twilight” expectations, be it those of finicky film critics or easier-to-please Twilighters, no opinion carries more weight than the approval of the series creator herself. When MTV News spoke to celebrated author Stephenie Meyer, she said she is happy to just be the author who only has to come out for big premiere events once a year, versus the actors who are out doing promotion for weeks on end. Also, she is very pleased with the third adaptation of her best-selling series. “Oh, it’s really good,” she said of “Eclipse.” “It’s so much fun to watch. One of the ways I judge a good movie is I forget to be critical because I’m just having fun — and with this one, I definitely was having a good time watching it.” When asked about the decision to go back and re-shoot the infamous and highly anticipated “tent scene,” Meyer said the changes were minor, but necessary in order to fully capture the words and tone that made the scene so memorable in the book. According to Meyer, the result is “really satisfying.” “It was so simple — it was [just] a blocking issue,” Meyer explained of the decision to revisit the pivotal scene. “When Bella and Jacob crawl into the sleeping bag together, he didn’t put his arms around her, he was just kind of backed away from her — I wasn’t [on set] that day to say, ‘Hold it!’ [So] we went back and put that in. I’m very happy with that.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” and “Breaking Dawn.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . On Farts and Nudity: Eclipse Stars Talk Tent Scene

It’s the most famous scene in Eclipse , perhaps even in the entire Twilight Saga: Bella, Edward and Jacob all end up in a single tent, as the former snuggles up to the latter and… … we don’t wanna ruin it for anyone that hasn’t read the book. But Robert Pattinson , Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart sat down with the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly and discussed putting these words on screen. Shooting the scene took two days, Lautner said, referring to it as “my favorite, because it’s the first time Edward and Jacob are actually able to connect and understand each other.” Pattinson describes the final outcome as “erotic,” with Stewart explaining why: “In the book there’s a serious sexual tension. As I’m sleeping, Jacob is staring over my vulnerable body, and he’s naked in this f- - -ing sleeping bag because you heat up faster that way, and Jacob and Edward are leveling with each other. From there, the pair exhibited the kind of chemistry that has helped make the Twilight Saga so huge – and, let’s face it, has made Rob and Kristen a couple, even if they won’t admit it. This is the exchange that concluded this excerpt from the interview: Pattinson : I can’t really get over the fact that the word thought sounds like fart . Stewart : The word thought does not sound like fart. Pattinson : It does. Stewart : Maybe because you are an English person. Pattinson : The opening line of that scene is “Can you at least keep your farts to yourself?” I couldn’t quite get over that. Sigh . We just love this pair, don’t you?

‘Breaking Dawn’ Screenwriter Says Split Gives Films ‘Room To Breathe’

‘There’s a little more room to really expand and explore some of the mythology,’ Melissa Rosenberg says of final two ‘Twilight’ movies. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Melissa Rosenberg Photo: MTV News While “Twilight” screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg is working on the “Breaking Dawn” scripts, she said the one hitch is trying to figure out where to break the book into two parts — but it’s a welcome challenge. “We’re still fudging around with that, not quite sure, but there’s a natural area in which to break it,” she told MTV News about her work on films, expected to start shooting later this year. “The first half is really about Bella as a human and a newlywed and then pregnant, and the second half is about her as a vampire and a parent, so somewhere in that transition is where the break is.” No matter what ends up happening in the films, Rosenberg is sure she will have plenty of room to do everything she and the fans want for the films. “What’s nice about having it be two films is that there’s room to breathe,” she said. “If it were to be one, it would so much condensing that I’d have to be leaving story lines by the roadside. “Here, there’s a little more room to really expand and explore some of the mythology,” she continued. “And we began that in ‘Eclipse,’ to be able to get into the invention of Riley’s backstory and the creation of Riley and some of the other characters. In ‘Breaking Dawn,’ there’s even more room to do that, and I’m having fun with that.” Rosenberg recently said she was unsure if she’d want to show Bella’s infamous birth scene onscreen in “Breaking Dawn,” explaining: “You know, you can do childbirth without seeing childbirth. … It doesn’t mean it’s any less evocative of an experience.” Where do you think Rosenberg should split “Breaking Dawn”? Robert Pattinson Related To Real Dracula, Vlad The Impaler

‘Twilight’ star reportedly shares ancestry with Transylvanian leader on whom Bram Stoker’s ‘Dracula’ is believed to be based. By Gil Kaufman Robert Pattinson So that’s why he’s so believable! Just in time for the launch of “Eclipse,” genealogy researchers have unearthed evidence that the most famous fictional vampire of our time, Robert Pattinson, is related to the most famous vampire of all time, Vlad the Implaer. According to The Associated Press , researchers at Ancestry.co.uk have revealed that the 24-year-old “Twilight” hunk has ties to Vlad III Dracula, a.k.a. Vlad the Impaler, the Transylvanian leader widely thought to be the inspiration for the main character in Bram Stoker’s legendary 1897 novel “Dracula.” The tie between Pattinson and Vlad apparently comes via their common relationship to the British royal family. England’s Prince William and Prince Harry are Pattinson’s distant cousins and Vlad the Impaler was their distant uncle. Vlad was born in Transylvania and ruled over the region now known as Romania (then called Wallachia) from 1456 to 1462. Known as “the Impaler,” Vlad was famous for executing his enemies by driving wooden stakes into their bodies. “Tracing Pattinson’s family back to Vlad was difficult research, but the pieces that unraveled created the perfect accompaniment to the ‘Twilight Saga,’ ” said Anastasia Tyler, a genealogist at Ancestry.com. “Without any myth or magic, we find royalty and vampires lurking in Pattinson’s life — making his story just as supernatural as the one he’s playing on screen.” And, in a connection only a publicist could dream of, the folks at Ancestry.com say that “Twilight” series author Stephenie Meyer also has ties to the British princes’ lineage, which means that, yes, she too is related to Dracula. Coincidentally, “Eclipse” opens Wednesday, June 30. ‘Breaking Dawn’ Screenwriter Is ‘Deep In the Middle’ Of Script

‘One of the biggest challenges is it’s really thick with mythology,’ Melissa Rosenberg reveals to MTV News. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Melissa Rosenberg Photo: MTV News Although the first of its two installments is more than a year from hitting theaters, the forthcoming “Breaking Dawn” already has Twilighters trying to predict how much of the books will make it to the screen. MTV News recently went in search of some inside scoop from screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg . Like you, we wondered just how much of the 754-page book we can expect to see. “I’m deep in the middle of it,” Rosenberg said of her progress on a script. “I’ve been working on it for several months now and it’s a bear, but it’s exciting.” Rosenberg, who has written the screenplays for all three “Twilight” films, also revealed that the “Dawn” adaptation is proving particularly challenging because of the sheer number of characters and the dense mythology behind it all. “One of the biggest challenges, it’s really true with all the novels, but probably more so with this one, is it’s really thick with mythology, there are a lot of characters,” she said. “The characters expand with the arrival of Carlisle’s friends. It’s really about who do you pull forward, where do you focus?” Rosenberg said that though the story always centers on the three main characters — Edward, Bella and Jacob — she wants to make sure to explore the body of myths that fuel the vampire series. “That’s the dance I’m playing throughout the entire thing,” she said. As for the cast of the “Twilight Saga,” they seem to have welcomed news that the final chapter in the series will be a two-part story. “I didn’t want to read the script that was just one [movie],” Kristen Stewart recently told MTV News . “It would have lacked so much because you just couldn’t cram the story into one. At least that was my opinion, so I’m really excited.” “Eclipse” opens June 30, and the first of the two “Breaking Dawn” films is scheduled for a November 18, 2011, release. What part of the book should absolutely make it to the “Breaking Dawn” movies? Tell us in the comments! We’ll be live at the L.A. premiere of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” on Thursday, June 24. Excerpts from the interview are below: Stewart, on Bella in Breaking Dawn : One of the main objectives of the series is to get Bella to a point where she’s mature enough to make such a hefty decision, and she goes through a lot. In the fourth one, she is going to become a wife. She is going to become a mom. She is going to become an adult and a vampire. To do it so young, it needs to be believable. Kristen Stewart Likes Changing Directors For Each ‘Twilight’ Film

‘It’s comforting to know that things are being shot well,’ she says of ‘Eclipse’ director David Slade. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Kristen Stewart Photo: MTV News When “30 Days of Night” director David Slade was chosen to helm “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” it was clear that the third film would get a darker, more violent tone. But star Kristen Stewart got something more: a sense of relief that the story would be done right. “If you have to say, ‘Yo, this story’s not being told,’ it’s really scary,” she explained to MTV News. “Then you’re not focusing on [what you need to focus on]. You should be able to look on your own thing, [so] we can rely on him on that level. He knows the story. He also gave us room to do our thing, because he realizes there’s a pretty established dynamic and you can’t go changing it.” Stewart said Slade concentrated a lot on the look of the film. “Yeah, I mean, David, he’s really interesting to watch, technically, because he’s obsessed with his camera,” she said. “He loves it. It’s comforting to know that things are being shot well.” Next up, Stewart will work with “Dreamgirls” director Bill Condon on the last two “Twilight” installments , “Breaking Dawn,” and she’s looking forward to getting yet another new perspective on the series. “Also it’s cool to introduce your character to a new director, because it provides a [chance to do a] lot of reconsideration,” she added. “It’s like, ‘No, think about it again, because I’ve got some new ideas about it.’ ” We’ll be
