Kristen Stewart ‘Excited’ About ‘Breaking Dawn’ Being Two Movies

‘It would have lacked so much because you couldn’t cram the story into one,’ the ‘Eclipse’ star says. By Josh Wigler, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Kristen Stewart Photo: MTV News Long overdue weddings, unexpected pregnancies, vicious vampire wars: With so much ground to cover, how could “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” possibly have satisfied fans with just one movie? Frankly, it probably couldn’t have, which is why Summit Entertainment announced that the final “Twilight” chapter, “Breaking Dawn,” would be split into two separate movies. The decision to have the film unfold in two parts brings a sigh of relief not only from fans of the supernatural romance series, but also from many of the series’ cast and crew members. Kristen Stewart told MTV News that she was thrilled to hear “Breaking Dawn” would get a two-part treatment. “I’m really excited,” Stewart said when we spoke with her as she promoted “Eclipse.” “I didn’t want to read the script that was just one [movie]. It would have lacked so much because you just couldn’t cram the story into one. At least that was my opinion, so I’m really excited.” And Stewart has many reasons to be excited. Her character Bella goes through some dramatic transformations over the course of this final story. Stewart’s Bella finally marries Pattinson’s Edward and gives birth to their human-vampire hybrid baby, Renesmee Cullen. And perhaps most incredibly, Bella becomes a vampire herself. For Stewart, the “Breaking Dawn” story line is also pivotal because it’s where the Forks teen comes into womanhood. “She’s a woman now and it blows my mind,” Stewart said of reprising her role as Bella one last time. “It’s going to be a completely different person to play. She’s like a matriarch now. She’s the strongest vampire, she literally can protect everyone. She’s literally impenetrable. I’m most excited about seeing Renesmee. It should be interesting, all of that stuff.” We’ll be live at the L.A. premiere of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” on Thursday, June 24. Kristen Stewart: Ruffled in Rome

At a Rome photo shoot with Taylor Lautner this week, Kristen Stewart donned a pretty, basic J. Mendel dress. But the actress got more daring later on that night, as she and her Twilight Saga co-star attended the Italian premiere of Eclipse . For that occasion, Kristen sported an elaborate, ruffled black tulle Marchesa miniskirt and combined it with a loose updo. You can check out both looks in the THG Style Store … if you want to. Kristen Stewart Would ‘Definitely’ Want Role In ‘Wanted 2’

‘But I wouldn’t want to be in a mindless, blow-up movie,’ the star tells MTV News of action flick aspirations. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Kristen Stewart Photo: MTV News For the last few months, Kristen Stewart has been rumored to be the director’s pick to take over for Angelina Jolie as the female lead in a sequel to 2008’s ultraviolent “Wanted.” While the “Eclipse” star says she can’t confirm or deny the talk, she told MTV News it’s a project she wouldn’t pass on. “I mean, like, it’s weird to answer questions like this. The only two projects that I’m confirmed in now are ‘On the Road’ and ‘Breaking Dawn’ 1 and 2,” Stewart hedged. But would she be into the assassin role if she were, in fact, being considered for the part? “Yes. Definitely, as long as it was good and I mean, it’s really exciting to see [that could be an opportunity],” she admitted. ” ‘Wanted’ was a great movie, like, James McAvoy makes that movie different than most other action movies because he’s a real guy, and I feel like most action movies don’t have that. So if it had that [element], definitely. But I wouldn’t just want to be in a mindless, blow-up movie. I’m not into it.” Since we were on the topic of the Hollywood rumor mill, Stewart also addressed gossip that had her making her London stage debut soon. “People have been asking me that. That’s so weird. I don’t know where that came from,” she said. “I would love to. That’s also something that really intimidates me and I have no experience in it. But I would want to, definitely. I’m just not doing that right now.” Would you like to see Kristen in “Wanted 2”? Tell us in the comments! We’ll be

Kristen Stewart Says Jacob Becomes ‘Desirable’ To Bella In ‘Eclipse’

‘These are real people dealing with real problems; they’re not just vampires and wolves,’ Stewart tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Kristen Stewart Photo: MTV News The characters in the “Twilight Saga” have been through a lot. In “Eclipse,” due June 30, Kristen Stewart says the trials and tribulations faced by Bella, Edward and Jacob are about to come to a head. And, things are going to get really real, really fast. “There’s a moment right before the big battle happens; Jacob gets emotional and crazy, and he’s gonna try and hurt himself and fight,” Stewart told MTV News about one of her favorite scenes. “And [Bella] gets to a point where the only way to save him is to kiss him, and what surprises her is, she’s not only able to do it; she can clearly see that he offers a really desirable path that, before, because she was so obsessed with Edward … she just had to like nothing else. She had no perspective, and so it’s a moment.” Jacob making a strong case to win over Bella makes the supernatural “Twilight” characters seem more human than ever, Stewart said. “If she’s ever reeled, it’s that moment, and then two seconds after, she has to go talk to Edward about it, and he’s heard everything,” she said. “So it’s a little bit more … it’s just not as fantasy. It’s like a little bit more real. These are real people dealing with real problems; they’re not just vampires and wolves.” This real issue all stems back to the flick’s overarching love triangle , which becomes more intense in this film. “The love triangle is real,” Stewart said. “In [‘Eclipse’], she is just older and a little bit more [wise]. Now you really believe her. It took awhile for her to know herself well enough to make a decision.” We’ll be live at the L.A. premiere of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” on Thursday, June 24. Kristen Stewart Relates To Bella ‘Generally’ In ‘Eclipse’

‘I know what it feels like to be unsure,’ actress tells MTV News. By Josh Wigler, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Kristen Stewart Photo: MTV News It’s not every day that one has to reconcile their romantic feelings toward a sparkling vampire and a hunky werewolf, but it’s an emotional conflict Bella Swan faces on a regular basis in the “Twilight” series. While it’s not a struggle Kristen Stewart deals with in her own personal life, that doesn’t mean the 20-year-old actress doesn’t bring her own experiences into her portrayal of the angst-ridden Bella . “You are who you are,” Stewart told MTV News while promoting “Eclipse,” the upcoming third installment in the “Twilight” series. “Everything that I’ve been through definitely informs the way I feel about everything I play, because you can’t claim to be a different person just because you’re playing Bella.” Even though Stewart finds her personal experiences helpful in informing her performance, the actress said she tries not to draw upon specific anecdotes while working. “I try not to be specific about it, though, because it gets muddled,” she explained. “You’re not playing yourself, so if you start putting your personal details in [a performance], it confuses things. But, definitely, I feel generally inspired, if I can relate to something.” As for the aspects of her character Stewart relates to most, the young actress revealed: “I know what it feels like to be unsure. I know what it feels like to be ashamed and having made mistakes and going, ‘Hey, it’s totally OK to have made that mistake!’ I get that, but not specifically.” We’ll be live at the L.A. premiere of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” on Thursday, June 24. Kristen Stewart Says ‘The Love Triangle Is Real’ In ‘Eclipse’

‘It took a while for her to know herself well enough to make a decision,’ Stewart tells MTV News of Bella. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Kristen Stewart Photo: MTV News We all know that Bella chooses Edward, but in “Eclipse,” Jacob has a shot for, like, a hot minute at maybe stealing the would-be vampire away from her true love. Kristen Stewart said that’s one of the things she loves about the film: Bella, now on the brink of making a major life decision, is finally empowered enough to feel like Jacob could be the guy for her. “I feel like she goes through so many traumatic events, and when she gets to the end of them, she feels a little bit more righteous than she did before,” she told MTV News. “A little bit more knowing and sort of like, ‘I’ve lived. Take my word for it. I know what I want.’ And nobody ever puts any stock in what she’s saying.” Instead, Stewart said, “Bella’s just sort of the dumb young girl who doesn’t know what it’s like to be a vampire, and it’s not about that for her. This whole vampire thing is going to be hard, but she’s a strong girl and she can make sacrifices. “What I like about ‘Eclipse’ is that … she really, actually looks at someone else, and it shatters her ideals,” Stewart added. So what does that mean for Bella, Edward and Jacob? “The love triangle is real,” Stewart said. “In [‘Eclipse’], she is just older and a little bit more [wise]. Now you really believe her. Robert Pattinson Says Bella And Jacob’s Relationship Is ‘Easier’

‘Edward’s got to remember, or learn, how to be a normal 17-year-old,’ ‘Eclipse’ star says of love triangle. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson Photo: MTV News If you pay attention to the tabloids, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are either about to get engaged, or one “Twilight” co-star has gone ahead and dumped the other. It’s all too silly to pay attention to, and it proves how complicated it is for RPattz and KStew to have a relationship of any kind while so fully in the public eye. And the relationship of their fictional alter egos, Edward Cullen and Bella Swan , isn’t any easier. He was transformed into a deadly vampire in 1918; she’s a normal, accident-prone high school girl growing up in the Pacific Northwest. You can see why Pattinson might think Jacob Black is in many ways a better fit for Bella than Edward is. No matter that Black is a shape-shifting werewolf. “Their relationship is so much easier, Bella and Jacob, because he’s just a normal kid,” Pattinson told MTV News. “Edward’s got to remember, or learn, how to be a normal 17-year-old, because he’s never bothered.” As Pattinson describes it, Edward spent the first two movies in the vampire franchise remaining largely aloof, even going so far as to leave Bella in “New Moon,” deciding that she’d be better off without him. All that changes in “Eclipse,” and Edward has to play some serious cultural catch-up. It’s anything but easy. “[T]he whole thing is him having to accept the consequences of [being with Bella], which means catching up to the same pace of every other 17-year-old in the contemporary world, emotionally and intellectually and everything, and realizing he’s quite a long way behind,” Pattinson said. Does RPattz have a point about Edward and Bella, or is he just being humble? Share your analyses in the comments. We’ll be

‘Eclipse’ Soundtrack Debuts At #2 — Should Fans Worry?

We take a look at what that album sales mean for the latest ‘Twilight’ film’s box-office numbers. By Eric Ditzian “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” soundtrack Photo: Atlantic When it was released in November 2008, the “Twilight” soundtrack shot straight to the top of the Billboard albums charts, and by the end of the month, the first of the vampire franchise flicks had opened at #1 on its way to $193 million in box-office receipts. A year later, in its first full week out, the “New Moon” disc also topped the charts, warming up fans’ ears and wallets before the film started its climb toward $297 million in total ticket sales. Now the “Eclipse” soundtrack has dropped, and its opening-week numbers — 144,000 albums sold, good for Billboard ‘s #2 slot on next week’s chart — represent the weakest debut yet for the franchise’s albums. Is it time to panic? Might this be the first glimpse of the decline of “Twilight”? Hardly. “I don’t think the drop-off is anything to be freaked out about,” said Keith Caulfield, senior chart manager/analyst for Billboard. “I wouldn’t pin it on just one thing. You can chalk it up a bit to album sales declining in general. And it’s not surprising that part three sells what it sells in its first week, because as with anything, especially continuing movie franchises or TV series franchises, the interest begins to wane a little as the excitement and the newness dissipates a bit.” Yet it’s important to note that with the first two films, album sales and box-office numbers had an inverse relationship. The “Twilight” disc boasts 2.6 million in total sales and “New Moon” ultimately moved 1.1 million discs, while “New Moon” out-grossed its predecessor by $104 million. Further explaining the disparity in album sales is that, unlike the first soundtrack, the “New Moon” disc didn’t boast a tune by star Robert Pattinson on its track listing (nor does the “Eclipse” album). Of course, RPattz’s smoldering mug is all over the films. The point is, while there is a relationship between album and ticket sales, the two do not move in lockstep. “A not-perfect comparison would be when people discuss the ratings of ‘American Idol’ to how well Lee DeWyze or Crystal Bowersox are going to do [selling albums],” Caulfield noted. “The TV show exists in a different world from the artists and their music. If 20 million people tune in to vote each week, not very many of them are actually buying anything. It’s the same thing with ‘Twilight.’ Some people find the music perfectly pleasant in the film, but they’re not going to be moved to actually purchase the album for whatever reason.” What they will be moved to do is continue to the support the film franchise — “New Moon” swept the fan-voted MTV Movie Awards this month — and buy oodles of theater tickets. “New Moon” is the top-selling pre-release title in the 10-year history of ticketing site Fandango, and there’s no reason to expect “Eclipse” to suffer a dramatic drop-off (pre-sale numbers for the film are not yet available). After the film premieres, there may even be an uptick in “Eclipse” music sales. Following the November release of “New Moon,” Billboard noticed an increase in sales related to interest in the Lykke Li track, “Possibility,” which was featured during a key montage in the film and made the Oscar Best Original Song shortlist in December. “That song really resonated with people, and they wanted to get the album partially for that song,” Caulfield said. Come the June 30 premiere of “Eclipse,” the soundtrack might benefit from similar, experience-based fan curiosity. ” ‘Twilight’ has done a really great job of curating the music on the albums, because it so complements the intention of the films and the author’s intent,” Caulfield said. “People who are interested in ‘Twilight’ are especially interested in the music because it’s all part of one big story.” Have you bought the “Eclipse” soundtrack? How does it compare to the first two? Share your thoughts in the comments. We’ll be
