John Blackwell Jr., a musician best known for having toured with Prince as the artist’s main drummer for over a decade, passed away on Tuesday. He was 43 years old. The exact cause of death is unknown at this time, but Blackwell was diagnosed with a brain tumor last year after falling ill and undergoing a number of tests in Japan. The popular drummer’s wife, Yaritza, who updates her husband’s social media accounts, shared the news Tuesday on Instagram via an image of her grasping his hand. She wrote that he died “peacefully” in her company and added: “Thanks God for his life and thanks everyone for their support.” Last July, his wife set up a GoFundMe account to cover Blackwell’s medical expenses; it has raised over $78,000 to date. According to USA Today, the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office in Tampa has been asked for further information on Blackwell’s passing, but has not yet responded to this request Blackwell took to stages around the world alongside Prince for 15 years. He was well known and beloved for his unique style of drumming, having graduated from Berklee College of Music before being recruited by Prince in 2000 to play in his band New Power Generation. Blackwell also performed with Patti LaBelle, Justin Timberlake and Cameo, among other big-time artists and singers. He tragically lost an arm over the last year, as he underwent various surgeries in an attempt overcome his diagnosis. In the fall of 2016, Blackwell told Tampa TV station WTSP-TV that Prince was like a father figure to him. The two friends were extremely close. He said another close acquintence had recently told him that he could just imagine Prince calling for him to play as part of his band up in heaven. “I can hear Prince now say, ‘I’ll just call John.’ No, you ain’t! I don’t want to do that gig. Not yet,” Blackwell, who took up drumming at the age of three, said at the time. In response to his passing, many others within the world of music expressed their sadness and sent their condolences on social media. To wit, Sheila E. wrote: “My beautiful friend John Blackwell passed away 2day Plz keep his family in prayer. Caitlyn Jenner is still out there promoting her new book, The Secrets of My Life — she’s doing interviews, she’s making statements, she’s getting intimate . And the Kardashians are still not cool with it. But although Caitlyn’s former family has made it clear that they don’t approve of all of her stories, she’s not about to stop anytime soon. In fact, she may have just given her shadiest interview yet! She spoke with Australia’s Today show, and she seemed to respond to the statement Kim Kardashian made during her appearance on Ellen — the one where she said that she doesn’t respect Caitlyn right now . “I love Kimberly,” Caitlyn began, “I think she’s a wonderful person. But, well, to be honest with you, I really haven’t talked to her in a long time.” For what it’s worth, Kim said it had been a couple of weeks since she’d spoken to her, so either someone is fibbing or Caitlyn doesn’t have a strong grasp on the concept of time. “I’ve kind of let everything calm down,” Caitlyn continued. “So I kind of stay, you know, I keep my distance.” “I’m out there trying to make a difference in the world.” Get it, because the Kardashians don’t make a difference? They just take selfies and manufacture drama and then take more selfies ? Yeah, you get it. Caitlyn said that while “There’s a lot of drama in the Kardashian family,” and no kidding, “This is my book about my opinions on things that happened with me and my family.” “Any time I express my opinion, you know, with my family, there’s always challenges in doing that.” She definitely has a point — she’s allowed to tell her story, and it’s obviously very important to her that she does — but she could still manage to show a little more tact when it comes to her stepchildren. She could perhaps even stand to be a little kinder to her wife of 23 years, Kris Jenner — but as we see in another interview Caitlyn did, this one with The Talk, she’s not interested in doing that, either. When asked if she regretted anything she wrote about Kris in her book, she said “I regret nothing, OK? I have no regrets. I got over regrets a long time ago. “I don’t want to hurt anybody, especially family members,” she went on, “but, um … if you saw the show over the last ten years, eleven years or whatever, my opinion was never really brought forward.” “It was everybody else’s opinion, I was with a lot of very strong women, which is fine, I love them all, but this book is about my story.” Caitlyn said that she was “so nice to Kris” in the book, but that obviously they have different interpretations of what happened in their marriage. “We’re not talking as much as we used to, but I’m sure that’ll change when everything calms down,” she added, and she said the same thing for the Kardashians. A few days after rumors surfaced that Kelly Clarkson would be a judge on the revamped version of American Idol, the original winner of has come out and stunned the television universe: She will, indeed, be a judge on an upcoming season of a beloved, long-time running singing competition. But it will not be the show that made her famous. It will be The Voice. Clarkson made the unexpected announcement on Thursday afternoon alongside Blake Shelton on his Facebook page as part of a live video. The two artists will joined on season 14 by fellow longtime coach Adam Levine, while a fourth coach will be confirmed at a later date. “I’m so excited to join The Voice at NBC,” Clarkson said in a statement. She added: “We’ve gone back and forth about a role as a coach for years, but the timing hasn’t been right until now. “I have always loved appearing on the show as an adviser or performer and established an amazing relationship with the network during my Christmas special. “I can’t wait to turn my chair and see the faces of up-and-coming artists and provide them with the help and support they’ve needed to break into the industry.” Proving she’s ready for the typical weekly trash talk among panelists, Clarkson concluded as follows: “Watch out Shelton, I’m comin’ to win!” There’s also been talk, meanwhile, that Jennifer Hudson will come on board The Voice Season 13 as a judge. In the most predictable development since Kim Kardashian and her family chose to publicize every conceivable angle of the star’s Paris robbery for the sake of ratings, Danielle Bregoli has signed to anchor a reality show. We’ll give you a minute to pick your jaw up off the floor… All good now? Over the utter shock of this announcement? Okay, allow us to pass along a few details. According to TMZ, Bregoli has officially signed with what the website refers to as a “major TV production company.” Not many other details are available at the moment, but it’s worth noting that the show (which will be centered on Danielle’s ridiculous life, of course) does not actually have a home yet. No network has agreed to air the series; nor is there an official pitch or summary of what the program will actually be about it. The 14-year old has simply agreed to work with a company that will help get a series on television. Tragically, it’s not difficult to see this happening. The Internet is very interest in the world of Danielle Bregoli, who rose to viral fame in September after she appeared alongside her mother on an episode of Dr. Phil. The segment was titled “I Want to Give Up My Car-Stealing, Knife-Wielding, Twerking 13-Year-Old Daughter Who Tried to Frame Me for a Crime.” After displaying some boorish behavior and trying to sound all tough on stage, Bregoli turned to the audience and taunted them with what has become has catchphrase. ” Cash Me Outside ,” she oddly yelled to members of the crowd. And, with just that, a Web superstar was sadly born. Since her initial Dr. Phil interview, Bregoli has done all she can to remain relevant. She is very clearly trying to extend her 15 Minutes of Fame into at least a full hour. For example, Bregoli once trash-talked Kardashian over her sex tape with Ray J, obviously hoping to get into a public spat with the Queen of Being Famous for No Real Reason. But Kim, to her credit, did not take the bait. Elsewhere, a disturbing video (like, a VERY disturbing video) of Bregoli getting pummeled over and over and over by her mother also recently made the Internet rounds. It’s only been two months since Jenelle Evans welcomed her third child , but the Teen Mom 2 star is already planning her next move on the family front. Jenelle is engaged to David Eason these days, and she’s happily addressed questions about her upcoming nuptials and the unique joys and challenges of raising a blended family in a number of new interviews. Asked about her wedding planning process by MTV, Jenelle revealed that there’s some disagreement as to exactly when she and David should tie the knot: “We haven’t set a date, but we want to get married either this summer or next summer depending on how quickly we plan it,” Jenelle said last month. “I’m saying next summer, but he’s saying this summer.” As for the theme and decor, Evans had this to say: “We know we want a rustic-themed wedding, nothing too fancy. Something simple, maybe backyard and outdoorsy.” She added: “We want just close friends and family, not anything crazy.” Of course the really interesting questions surrounding Jenelle and David’s forthcoming marriage have nothing to do with mason jars and Edison light bulbs. Jenelle has three kids by three different men, and David has two children from previous relationships. On top of that, Jenelle’s mother has custody of her eldest son, Jace. All of this means there will be a lot of external input from third (and fourth, and fifth …) parties on basically every family decision that David and Jenelle make. So how does Jenelle picture the future for her blended family? Well, despite the ongoing difficulty of custody issues, she says sees everyone living under one roof without any issue. “Jace recently asked me: ‘When can I live with you again?’” Jenelle tells People magazine. “I said: ‘Well, hopefully by the summer you’ll be living here.’ But that’s all I told him – I don’t want him to know too much right now ’cause it’s really detrimental.” Asked by a fan on Twitter if Eason’s daughter will ever live with her full-time, Jenelle replied, “She already does.” She added, however, that for legal reasons, she’s not allowed to discuss custody of Eason’s son, Kaden. I’ve posted at least one of these images before, but like the Kardashians as a whole, they just keep on fucking multiplying, like the rodents, or snakes, or monsters they are….It’s like don’t get them wet or feed them after midnight, or they just multiply, and each one will be their unique brand of boring, lame, uninteresting, not very hot, dog shit that plays itself up to be fucking legendary, innovative, inspiring…I’d hate to be around these people, the egos, and the attitude from everyone feeding them fucking money and praise…and the whole “haters gonna hate so I don’t let it bring me down and make me kill myself”….while the only thing that will bring them down and make her or all of them kill themselves is when the world / America / everyone stops following them. Protests them. stops watching them.
