Cast of MTV’s Real World Brooklyn | January 7, 2009 (Photo by Jim Spellman/WireImage) The Real World Is Being Reimagined For Facebook Watch Next Year MTV’s popular series The Real World is coming back, and it’s being “reimagined” with three brand new seasons that are all set to begin next year. The trio of new seasons will be available for viewers exclusively via Facebook Watch, the streaming service that houses other series like Kim Kardashian’s You Kiddin’ Me and Ball in the Family . Mexico, Thailand, and the United States have been announced as the locations from which the original MTV mainstay will explore different themes like “friendship” and “social environments.” “MTV’s The Real World helped to define a generation and created a new genre of television with a simple yet powerful idea of connecting people from wildly divergent backgrounds to find common ground on the issues that often divided them,” President of MTV Chris McCarthy said during the Facebook Watch presentation at MIPCOM 2018 in Cannes this week. “By partnering with Facebook Watch and BMP, we have the opportunity to impact culture and create a new genre of television all over again, while engaging the next generation of content consumers around the world.” With Facebook, viewers are going to be given the chance to vote one housemate onto the show in addition to the pre-selected cast. The new episodes are set to begin rolling out in Spring of 2019. News of a digital reboot of The Real World initially broke back in June via Deadline . This upcoming Real World return arrives during a particularly nostalgia-driven programming period for MTV in particular. Just earlier this week, it was announced that Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee’s son Brandon Thomas Lee had joined the cast of the Mischa Barton-starring revival of The Hills . The same network’s Jersey Shore revival is already being aired. Will you be watching The Real World’s return?
No matter where you fall on the political spectrum, you probably don’t need us to tell you that Donald Trump is not the sort of president we’re accustomed to seeing in this country. While previous leaders of the free world seemed primarily focused on leading the free world (booooring!) Trump has set his sights on continually raising the bar in terms of batsh-t insanity and further debasing America on the global stage. And today, the Donald struck a major blow against both human decency and dignity of his office when he celebrated his legal victory over his former mistress Stormy Daniels . On Monday, a judge threw out Daniels’ million dollar defamation lawsuit against Trump, and naturally, he felt the need to take a victory lap on Twitter. Trump began by quoting a Fox News headline: “Federal Judge throws out Stormy Danials [sic] lawsuit versus Trump. Trump is entitled to full legal fees,’” he tweeted. From there, Trump tossed in his own two cents, and man, did things get bonkers in a hurry: “Great, now I can go after Horseface and her 3rd rate lawyer in the Great State of Texas,” Trump wrote. “She will confirm the letter she signed! She knows nothing about me, a total con!” Yes, the President of the United States is now referring to his former mistress as Horseface. Never one to shy away from Donnie’s trash talk, Daniels immediately went on the offensive. And we’re pretty sure her name should now be listed alongside Lee Harvey Oswald and John Wilkes Booth, because she just killed a president: “Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present your president,” Stormy tweeted. “In addition to his…umm…shortcomings, he has demonstrated his incompetence, hatred of women and lack of self-control on Twitter AGAIN! And perhaps a penchant for bestiality. Game on, Tiny.” Daniels has talked about Trump’s penis before in the sort of graphic detail that will haunt our dreams for the rest of our days, but flat-out calling the dude “Tiny” in a public forum is an undeniable death blow. Stormy went on to attack Trump on a subject that’s even more sensitive than his penis size. We’re talking, of course, about his grammar: “I see someone finally made it to chapter 3,” Daniels tweeted, referring to her recent memoir. “Also, can someone please teach Tiny about correct punctuation? We already knew you’re a con, though. #triggeredhim #slowreader #commasarehard” Yes, it seems Trump decided to celebrate his self-proclaimed victory over Daniels a bit prematurely. Based on this latest exchange, it seems the adult film star and her attack dog lawyer won’t be going away anytime soon. Such was the case when the Chicago MC got behind the wheel as “John” and spoke to riders about his love of music, taking chances and charity. Some passengers picked up who they were riding with right away, but most, not at all. The deception was for the worthiest of causes. If you use Round Up in the Lyft app the donated proceeds go to Chance’s the New Chance Fund which in turn supports Chicago Public Schools. And it’s legit, having recently announced they were blessing schools with even more money specifically for mental health services. Watch the blessings below.
B arack Obama took the stage for his farewell speech mere days after Donald Trump had been elected president of the United States in 2016. The 44th president tried his best to instill hope and faith in his followers who had been dealt a blow of fear and despair. He spoke about civil action and voicing our concerns when the government fails us. At one point, when Obama mentioned the future President Donald Trump, members of the crowd started to boo. His response was short, off-the-cuff and enlightening about the outgoing president’s ideals: “Don’t boo, vote.” This has been Obama’s doctrine for more than a decade, and to be fair, a go-to one-stop solution offered up mostly to minority populations as the ways to initiate change in America. This isn’t new. One of the pillars of the civil rights movement was making sure that African-Americans could secure the right to vote. An incalculable amount of men and women died for that right to cast ballots in elections. My father risked his life fighting for voting rights. I understand the vast importance of the changes that can occur in America if people have a passion for voting. But I also understand that acting like voting is the final solution to the problems poisoning America is an oversimplified dismissal of what Black people have had to endure to simply survive. READ MORE: Here’s What Millennials Think About Voting For A Black Candidate Having faith in voting is, in effect, having faith in the fairness of America’s so-called democracy. And having faith in America’s so-called democracy is an act of naïveté and self-sabotage. American politics doesn’t act on fairness. It never has, and as soon as Black people secured the right to vote, the country worked overtime to find ways to take those rights away, either by stripping that right via mass incarceration or straight-up changing rules to nullify the impacts of Black votes. In short, the war against Black voting rights never ended and the weeks and days leading up to the 2018 midterms is a testament to how much this country – namely the GOP – wants to make Black voting ineffective. In Georgia, for instance, Republican Secretary Of State and GOP candidate for governor, Brian Kemp, has purged 53,000 names from voter registration lists – more than 70 percent of those were African-American despite the fact the state is a little more than 30 percent Black. Since 2014, the state has shut down 214 polling places, mostly in predominately Black counties. Florida is suppressing more than half a million voters . A study from the Brennan Center For Justice found that New York, Virginia, North Carolina and Florida have engaged in illegal purges, while Arizona, Alabama, Maine and Indiana have put rules on the books that violate the Civil Rights Act in order to suppress votes. Officials at polling places no longer have to make potential voters ask how many bubbles are on a bar of soap anymore as policies achieving the same purpose are now baked into official laws across the country. But what happens if we do actually get to cast a ballot on Election Day? American policy has failsafes in place to minimize the impact of Black votes. The electoral college was instituted as a compromise to give southern states heightened voting power to account for their population of slaves. That same electoral college allowed the last two Republican presidential candidates to ascend to the White House despite the fact they didn’t win the popular vote. The Senate, which allocates two votes per state, dilutes popular votes, as well. By 2040 , two-thirds of the Senate will represent a mere 30 percent of the U.S. population. Think about this: Due to the population differences between Alaska and California and the fact they each still get the same amount of Senate representatives, a Senate vote in Alaska is worth more than 50 times a vote in California. READ MORE: Kavanaugh Brings His Voter Suppression Record To A Court That Just Upheld A State’s ID Law Voting is a vastly important method of changing the country when we are dissatisfied with those in charge. However, the narrative around voting needs to change. Black people, for the most part, don’t pass on voting because they are lazy or complacent. Voting numbers are rarely if ever a reflection of how much Black people care. On the contrary, voting numbers are reflections of the continued effort to suppress Black people’s rights to have a say in what happens in regards to American policy. Every Black vote is a testament to perseverance and overcoming a system that doesn’t want us stepping foot in voting booths. Every missed Black vote is a reflection of the country succeeding in suppression. When Obama admonished to “don’t boo, vote,” he was displaying the faith he has in America – the same faith that got him elected and the same faith that kept him from believing Donald Trump could be president until it was too late. However, “just” voting isn’t enough. Don’t boo, vote. Don’t boo, resist. Don’t boo, march. Don’t boo, speak up. Don’t boo, live. This is how we survive in America. In August, Deven Davis, wife of Korn frontman Jonathan Davis, was found dead . This was a tragedy for her family and for her loved ones. Now, her heartbreaking cause of death has been revealed. On August 18, Deven Davis passed away. She was only 39 years old. According to autopsy results obtained by TMZ , the cause of death was five different drugs in her system. The report says that Deven had cocaine, heroin, clonazepam, topiramate, and fluoxetine in her system. Cocaine and heroin are both illegal, and are very different drugs. The others are another matter. Clonazepam is a fairly tame benzodiazepine that can be used to treat anxiety. Topiramate has a few uses, one of the most common to reduce the frequency and intensity of migraine headaches. Flueoxetine is a fairly standard serotonin reuptake inhibitors. Most people know this medication as Prozac. The cause of death was ruled accidental. The medical examiner’s office believes that the lethal combination of drugs was an unintentional tragedy. Jonathan Davis spoke out on Instagram several days after her passing. “Over the last few days,” he wrote at the time. “There has been a lot of speculation over what really happened surrounding the death of my wife, Deven.” He continued: “and I want my voice to be heard.” “Over the past decade, my wife has been very very sick,” he revealed. He explained: “She had a serious mental illness and her addiction was a side effect.” “I loved her with ALL of my being,” Jonathan gushed. “When she was her true self, she was an amazing wife, amazing mother and amazing friend.” “She was full of life and joy, and she would do anything to share that with those around her,” he wrote. Jonathan admitted that he had “tried to hide what was going on.” He shared that he did this “in order to protect her.” “She is the reason I have advocated so hard for those struggling with their mental health,” he explained. “I want her story to inspire people to reach out for help,” Jonathan wrote. “And not to be afraid or hide from their illness.” “If you know someone with a mental illness,” he implored. “Have compassion and empathy, and know that they are not bad people, they are suffering.” Jonathan shared that, as a facet of her illness, the mother of two of his three sons never understood “how sick she really was.” “I’d give anything to have the chance to hold her again,” Jonathan confessed. “I’d give anything for my kids to have their mother back,” he wrote. Jonathan said: “I have comfort in knowing that now she has found freedom from her illness, and she is finally at peace.” “I swear one day I’ll be there with you by your side when my ride here on earth is over,” he concluded. “I love you, Luber.” That is devastating and must have been incredibly difficult to write, especially just days after her tragic passing. We hope that his fans and followers will listen to his heartfelt message. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2018: In Memoriam
We often mock Teresa Giudice and members of her family. It’s typically for good reason, too. Teresa is just so self-centered and spoiled and she lacks any semblance of self-awareness and she broke the law awhile back by lying about her finances and has never really shown a hint of remorse. This is all true. But it can all be true and we can still feel very badly for her kids. Earlier this week, it was revealed that Joe Giudice really will face deportation after he completes his current prison sentence. This had been rumored ever since Joe entered jail on tax evasion charges, but a judge dropped the deportation hammer once and for all in immigration court on Wednesday morning. “Based upon the law, I find you deportable and ineligible for any kind of relief,” the judge said at the hearing, according to various sources, adding: “Mr. Giudice, no matter how this turns out, I wish you the best. I decided this case as a matter of law.” This is obviously quite a blow to Teresa and her four kids. Joe is due for release next year, at which time, unless something significant changes, he will be sent back to his native country of Italy. While various members of The Real Housewives community have reacted in sadness to this development, 17-year old daughter Gia Giudice is now here to speak out for the first time since the decision was handed down. The oldest child of Joe and Teresa, Gia has shared a video created by a man named Fred Rubino. In this footage, he called for an appeal of Joe’s impending deportation, alleging that the ruling on Giudice’s case was “racist” and “political” because Joe is Italian. That seems like quite the unverified leap, but Gia appears to concur. “Spread the word, could’ve said it better myself.” Gia wrote in the caption. “I love you daddy, let’s fight this! @fredrubino.” The despondent and angry teenager also shared a throwback photo on her Instagram Story of herself as a little girl holding onto Joe’s shoulders, and wrote on the image: “New post!!!! Spread the word, let’s fight.” It’s quite the image, that much is certain: For whatever it’s worth, Teresa was not in the courtroom Wednesday when the judge made his ruling. Joe now has 30 days to file an appeal; which we’d have to imagine he will do. For those wondering… Yes, Giudice has lived in America since he was a child. However, he never obtained American citizenship , and immigrants can be deported from the United States if they are convicted of “a crime of moral turpitude” or an “aggravated felony,” according to U.S. law. Does that seem unfair? Not to Donald Trump, probably. View Slideshow: Teresa Giudice: Filing For Divorce Once Joe Gets Deported?! Although Teresa has thus far remained silent on the ruling, a source told People Magazine that she “never imaged Joe would really get deported.” Adds this insider: “This is going to break her. She always knew that this was a possibility, but she put it out of her head. That’s the only way she could go on living day to day.” In this one instance, we actually do feel badly for her.
Bill Cosby was taken straight to jail on Tuesday afternoon. As previously reported and celebrated on The Hollywood Gossip, Cosby was sentened to a minimum of three years behind bars for drugging and raping Andrea Constand back in 2004. The former Temple University employee was just one of several dozen women who made an accusation of this nature against the disgraced comedian. The ex-sitcom star was denied bail by the judge who decided on his punishment and led away to prison in handcuffs shortly after th enews of his sentencing broke. Said this Pennsylvania judge upon issuing his decision: “It is time for justice. Mr. Cosby, this has all circled back to you. The time has come.” O’Neill also classified Cosby as a “sexually violent predator” – which means his name name will appear on a sex-offender registry – and quoted from Constand’s statement to the court, in which she said Cosby took her “beautiful, young spirit and crushed it.” This is the photo Cosby was forced to pose for prior to being placed behind bars: For the record, Cosby declined the change to speak before the sentence came down; afterward,he sat laughing and talking with his defense team. His wife of 54 years, Camille, was not in court. Constand, meanwhile, smiled broadly upon hearing the punishment and was hugged by others in the courtroom. Her five-page long impact statement, which likely played a role in Cosby’s sentencing, described her reaction to the sexual assault as follows: “The shame was overwhelming. Self-doubt and confusion kept me from turning to my family or friends as I normally did. I felt completely alone, unable to trust anyone, including myself.” She described Cosby as a mentor who used their relationship to assault her at his mansion in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, in January of 2004. Constand was just one of over 60 women who have accused Cosby of a similar pattern of behavior. He has strongly denied their claims over the years and vowed to appeal his conviction in Constand’s case, which was the only one to result in criminal charges due to the statute of limitations. A publicist for Cosby echoed his clients denials yesterday afternoon, standing in front of reporters and actually saying: ” They persecuted Jesus and look what happened .” This same awful person also referred to Cosby’s ordeal as “the most racist and sexist trial in the history of the United States,” adding that Cosby was a victim of a nationwide “sex war.” Stars across Hollywood, for their part, were not nearly as forgiving. Or insane. Amber Tamblyn, who has been an outspoken advocate of both the Time’s Up and #MeToo movements Tweeted on Tuesday: “Bill Cosby has been sentenced to 3-10 years for drugging and sexually assaulting many women over the course of many years. “His survivors have been sentenced to a lifetime of brutal memories and trauma for daring to exist in the first place. Super fair I guess.” Added Debra Messing, making a reference to Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and the accusations against him: “Today a PA court deemed #BillCosby a Violent Sexual Predator b4 sentencing him. For decades people maligned &decried his accusers as LIARS. It took 60+ accusers 2 finally bring his survivors justice &vindication. “Have we learned nothing? #IBelieveDrFord #IBelieveDeborahRamirez.” Quipped Chelsea Handler: “Bill Cosby is set to serve 3 to 10 years in prison, but when he’s released he’s expected to be nominated to the Supreme Court.” Albert Brooks also tossed out a joke on social media: “Bill Cosby gets new advertising campaign: Jail-O.” Cosby’s sentencing is the first major conviction of the #MeToo era. “This is a very important day. Judgment day has come,” feminist icon Gloria Allred said on CNN. “We’re so very proud of what law enforcement did to make sure we had a just outcome.” Let’s all hope Cosby dies in prison.
Nicky Nelson/WENN.com Anita Hill Speaks Up Over Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s Request For FBI Investigation Before Appearing At Hearing History repeats itself and we can’t afford to make the same mistakes twice. Judge Brett Kavanaugh is accused of attempting to sexually assault a woman when he was 17 and she was even younger. His accuser is an accomplished academic — a professor named Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and she’s already braved some horrible attacks to speak her truth. She’s now asking that the FBI conduct an investigation into the incident before she’ll take the stand at a hearing herself and she’s being backed by powerful women, including Anita Hill , who was in a very similar situation nearly 30 years ago when she stepped forward about suffering sexual harassment while working with Judge Clarence Thomas, who as a SCOTUS nominee at the time. Watch Anita’s talk on Dr. Blasey Ford’s position below: For anyone against an investigation — we simply can’t fathom WHY we would not thoroughly VET a SCOTUS nominee. Just do the investigation so that the Senate can fairly hear out Dr. Blasey Ford if she does take the stand! And for the people who argue that Kavanaugh was just 17 at the time — 17 is old enough to know right from wrong and to know better than trying to disrobe a woman or take advantage of her. This man will sit on the highest court of the United States if he’s confirmed. His character should be thoroughly investigated and no stone should be left unturned. Hit the flip for Sen. Mazie Hirono’s take on the situation.
I f civil rights activists are looking for a strong chance at stopping Brett Kavanaugh ‘s confirmation, then Cory Booker may just be it. The Democratic New Jersey Senator released more documents about the Supreme Court nominee on Wednesday night. RELATED: Brett Kavanaugh’s Dangerous Relationship With Race In America, Explained It’s clear that Booker is pulling out all the stops when it comes to bringing the controversial nominee’s record to light. He had already released confidential documents about Kavanaugh last week under the threat of a Senate Ethics Committee review and losing his Senate seat. In adding 28 more documents to the paper trail, Booker, who clearly isn’t here for Trump’s pick, is showing no signs of backing down from challenging the confirmation. We have added 28 new Kavanaugh “committee confidential” documents to the others publicly last week. All docs available here: https://t.co/n9IGe5UNgg — Cory Booker (@CoryBooker) September 12, 2018 With Booker and other Democrats’ fighting Kavanaugh replacing retired Justice Anthony Kennedy, the question is whether the Senate will consider the documents in their decision making. The documents are food for thought for the Senate Judiciary Committee, who met Thursday to discuss the matter. Senators will vote on the confirmation later this month, according to The Associated Press . The new batch of documents covers Kavanaugh’s role in judicial nominations and in the White House counsel’s office during the George W. Bush administration. The papers “raise more serious and concerning questions,” Booker said. Some documents show Kavanaugh’s connection to Bush’s nomination of Charles Pickering to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in New Orleans — a 2002 move that was met with Senate opposition and questions about Pickering, a then-Mississippi federal judge, being racist. Pickering ultimately got the court seat. Kavanaugh testified before the committee that he was not “substantially involved” in Pickering’s nomination. At this point, senators have a total of 75 documents on the table about the nominee. An unapologetic Booker is on a mission in vetting Kavanaugh, who has been viewed by activists as a candidate that would undermine civil rights progress under instruction from Trump. I will continue releasing so-called ‘committee confidential’ docs because it is important that American people see Kavanaugh’s entire record. No effort to intimidate me into silence will keep me from my moral & Constitutional duty. https://t.co/Yptiy4q0W4 — Cory Booker (@CoryBooker) September 12, 2018 SEE ALSO: Omarosa Goes Ballistic On XM Radio Show, Calls Host A ‘B***h’ Amber Guyger Is Blaming Botham Jean For Getting Shot And Killed In His Own Home [ione_media_gallery src=”https://newsone.com” id=”3404967″ overlay=”true”]
Source: LuxxBall 2016 Birthday Celebration for the Legendary Damon held at Stage 48 Featuring: Foxy Brown Where: New York, New York, United States When: 31 Mar 2016 Credit: Derrick Salters/WENN.com Foxy Brown is having a bad week, and her PR rep has spotted the jig. After allegedly swindling a promoter out his dough for a non-performance at a New York Fashion Week party, Lizzie Grubman has a resigned from her post as the rapper’s representative. Yes, we were shocked Lizzie Grubman was repping Fox Boogie, too. As for the party in question, where she was supposed to perform with Diddy’s son Christian, it sounds like Foxy was a mess. Reports Page Six : Brown allegedly “arrived to the party at nearly 2 a.m. f - - ked up. She was slurring and she refused to perform,” an insider told Page Six. VIPs including Tiffany Haddish, Winnie Harlow, Kelly Rowland, La La Anthony and Christian Combs were at the Blond for Smith’s after-party. We’re told Brown was going to perform with Combs and was in “great spirits,” hanging out backstage with “Page Six TV” co-host Bevy Smith. “[Brown] was very excited about the fact that she had the new single out with Nicki [Minaj]. She was in a good mood,” Bevy reported on “Page Six TV.” But spies further told us Brown was later requesting vodka and “falling all over people.” But wait, that’s just a tease of the struggle. Then again, the wobbling could have been due to a wardrobe malfunction. “She had a wardrobe mishap . . . [a designer] sent her two shoes for the same foot. She was in 6-[inch] heel boots that would lace up to the knee . . . so she was kind of hobbling around, but we were talking and laughing,” said Bevy, who did not attend the party after the show. We hear that at the bash, Brown refused to perform, and promoters are now threatening to sue unless she gives back the money. So Foxy Brown was wearing two left or two right shoes at the same damn time? Bruh. Grubman confirmed that she quit but didn’t offer any additional comment. The struggle is real. — Photo: WENN.com
