For me, I’m trying to fight the terrorism that’s actually causing the other forms of terrorism. The root cause of the terrorism is the stuff that you as a government allow to happen and the foreign policies that we have in place in different countries that inspire people to become terrorists. And it’s easy for us because it’s really just some oil, which we can really get on our own.” Spotted @ Necole Bitchie.com Lupe Fiasco “Words I Never Said” [MUSIC VIDEO] Lupe Fiasco Secures #1 Debut, 204K Sold Did You Know Nicki Minaj Plays The Clarinet? John Edwards: I’m Not a Crook (Just a Jerk)!

If you knock up Rielle Hunter (and make a sex tape) while your wife’s terminally ill, then use her cancer to win sympathy from voters while seeking your party’s nomination for President of the United States, you are a pretty bad person. Still, John Edwards says, he didn’t do anything illegal. With daughter Cate Edwards standing behind him, he pleaded not guilty to using campaign money to cover up his affair and love child with Hunter. “There is no question that I’ve done wrong ,” the two-time former presidential hopeful said outside the federal courthouse in Winston-Salem, N.C. “I take full responsibility for having done wrong. I will regret for the rest of my life the pain and the harm that I’ve caused to others. But I did not break the law, and I never, ever thought I was breaking the law.” A federal grand jury indicted John Edwards for breaking federal campaign finance laws while he was running for president back in 2008. In 2007, the National Enquirer f irst got wind of – and reported – John’s affair with Rielle. He denied it all profusely and that was that. After the 2008 primaries, the Enquirer busted him visiting Rielle. He confessed the affair, but still maintained the child was not his. More than a year later, with Andrew Young set to blow the whistle on his role in the ordeal, he finally admitted paternity as well. Prosecutors allege funds were paid to Rielle Hunter and onetime Edwards aide Young – who for a long time claimed he knocked up Rielle – to cover up Edwards’ affair with Hunter and the child they had together. Prosecutors claim the money came from political donors and can be considered campaign funds since they aided Edwards’ presidential bid.

Did You Know? Marriage Helps Boost Economy

Read the original:

Family Research Council’s Marriage and Religion Research Institute (MARRI) released a synthesis paper today showing that economic well-being in the United States is strongly related to marriage. The paper, entitled Marriage and Economic Well-Being, shows that married couples are better off economically than persons in any other family structure. The paper reports that only 5.8 percent of married families were living in poverty in 2009. “This research clearly documents why marriage is an important and fundamental part of society. Having the security of marriage in which to foster children is vital to reducing reliance on government welfare programs which cost taxpayers at least $112 billion annually. How To Help Your Teen Through Your Divorce “For men, being married proves an economic boon. Married men tend to have more stable employment histories and make, on average, almost 30 percent more than their non-married counterparts. Marriage also affects women and children positively. Married women are less likely to be impoverished, and children from married families have stronger economic mobility as adults. “Despite the disastrous effects of divorce on society, remarriage can have positive economic impacts on broken families. Remarriage tends to increase income and restore some lost wealth. The rate of poverty among children whose mothers remarry after divorce is reduced by 66 percent. Mashonda Hangs Up Her Reality TV Star Title, Won’t Do Another Season Of “Love & Hip-Hop”

You gotta give it to Mashonda : she sure knows how to keep up that good girl/deer in the headlights/”I never saw that coming” image, doesn’t she? In a recent interview she discussed how she ended up on Love & Hip-Hop to begin with and why she’s not doing the second season which has yet to be announced. On joining the cast: Fresh out of a high profile divorce with rapper/producer Swizz Beatz, Mashonda was approached by producers of a new VH1 reality show called Love & Hip Hop. She was asked to star as the lead, but the singer declined at first. “I just felt like being on a show, a reality show, would be too much, so I declined.” It wasn’t until best friend Emily B, also known as the mother of rapper Fabolous’ child sparked a change of heart in Mashonda’s decision. “Are you willing to come on the show to at least give Emily advice on her relationship? The producers were asking me, I thought about it and it made sense, so I said okay.” That’s interesting: these shows usually center around one character who brings the other “real people” together. And Jim Jones and his girlfriend/fiance Chrissy Lampkin seemed to be the only ones who could have achieved that. With THAT particular cast. We digress… On why she was excited about the opportunity: Under the impression that her role would strictly be to help and inspire women around the world through her friendship with Emily, Mashonda agreed to join the cast of Love & Hip Hop. “I really honestly did do the show to help Emily and help women across the United States, to let them know that you’re not the only one that can go through something like this {divorce and heartbreak}.” “In the first episode when you see Emily and myself in the restaurant, that was the first time I saw {her} in like a month and a half, so the reaction was so authentic and everything was so real. The producers loved the fact that I was able to get emotions out of her, because that was the first time Emily cried on screen. They {producers} kept asking me to come back, and I shot about eight scenes with Emily,” says Mashonda. On her reaction while watching the show: “When I watch it, I do get emotional sometimes especially the scene when they went to my house {season finale episode}, and I look at the way I looked ten months ago, and its like wow,” Mashonda pauses then continues, “I was really going through something, I looked trashed. From the way I look now and the way I looked then, it’s a big difference.” The enormous house that Mashonda stood in was being foreclosed; she was leaving that house shown on the show to move into a town house in New Jersey with her young son Kaseem. “Lifestyle means absolutely nothing,” she explains. “I was blessed to experience living in a house that was 21,000 sq feet, driving Bentleys, that stuff comes and goes. I watched so many women lose their selves in that and they don’t know how to act when its gone. Its not going to last forever, so when it was over, it was over. I just knew it was time to start over. I live in a town house now, and I’m happy that it’s mine.” On why she’s too good to be one of these reality show broads: I just don’t feel like at this point in my life, Love and Hip Hop represents who I am, it’s just a chapter that is over,” she states. “When I shot the show, I thought that it was going to be like more of a sisterhood, but when I saw a lot of the drama and the beef, I was a little surprised, I was like wow, okay, I didn’t know this was going to be apart of what this is.” Not to worry: she’ll be back in the spotlight soon enough with a book which she says is “self-help/memoir”-ish, but isn’t a tell all.
