This is an interesting step for Farrakhan . Rouhani’s dinner party was held on the second floor of the One UN Hotel, where the Iranian delegation is staying, and at the same time as President Obama’s party at the Waldorf Astoria just blocks away. The private dinner party was held just hours after Rouhani’s speech to the general assembly. Farrakhan and his massive entourage and private security detail were seen departing the hotel around 10 p.m. Tuesday. Pedestrian traffic was stopped while the minister and his group piled into various cars with lights and sirens and New Jersey license plates. Barilla Pasta CEO Refuses To Feature A Gay Family In Commercials Because The Company “Doesn’t Agree With Them”

Fair or too far? Barilla Pasta CEO Refuses To Feature Gay Families In Commercials Member of the LGBT community are in an uproar and some are even calling for a boycott after Barilla Pasta CEO Guido Barilla recently spoke out against featuring a gay family in his television commercials. via Gawker Guido Barilla, head of the world’s biggest pasta brand, went on an anti-gay rant on Italian radio yesterday, proclaiming that he would never OK a commercial depicting a gay family and that if gays don’t like his views “they can eat another pasta.” Barilla pasta is famous in part because of its TV ads, which portray a traditional Italian family living in the quaint Italian countryside—tagline: “Where there’s Barilla, there’s home.” Asked if he’d ever consider replacing that traditional family with a gay one, Barilla scoffed: “I would never do (a commercial) with a h*m*se*ual family, not for lack of respect but because we don’t agree with them. Ours is a classic family where the woman plays a fundamental role,” Barilla, 55, said in an interview with Radio 24 on Wednesday. In the interview, Barilla said he opposed adoption by gay parents, but was in favour of allowing gay marriage, which is not legal in Italy. … If gays “like our pasta and our advertising, they’ll eat our pasta, if they don’t like it then they will not eat it and they will eat another brand,” he said. Do you think companies should be required to incorporate LGBT families into their advertising as more gay-friendly laws are passed in the United States? Continue reading

Miranda Kerr: Topless in Interview Magazine!

Australian beauty Miranda Kerr has been letting it all hang out lately, even by her standards, and her latest spread in Interview Magazine is no exception. Wearing nothing but a fur throw and a pearl G-string, Kerr revealed her full breast and the majority of her incomprehensible body in this sultry photo: Interview readers who wish to see a Miranda Kerr nipple slip will get all of that and more if they pick up the upcoming “Model Issue.” It’s rather star-studded. She joins “the original seven” supermodels Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, Amber Valletta, Kate Moss, Stephanie Seymour and Daria Werbowsky. Models Jourdan Dunn, Alessandra Ambrosio, Candice Swanepoel, Constance J Jablonski and Andreea Diaconu also appear in a Goddesses” feature. Wearing nothing more than furs and pearls as well. Gulp.

Cashin’ Out: Merrill Lynch Ordered To Pay $160 Million To 700 Black Brokers In Racial Bias Lawsuit Settlement

Merrill Lynch Ordered To Pay $160 Million To Black Brokers In Lawsuit Settlement 700 African-American brokers who filed a racial bias lawsuit against Wall Street brokerage firm giant Merrill Lynch after learning that many of their clients were likely to prefer to deal only with white brokers, among other racially biased things, will be awarded $160 million in settlement funds. via NY Times Merrill Lynch, one of the biggest brokerage firms on Wall Street, has agreed to pay $160 million to settle a racial bias lawsuit that wound through the federal courts for eight years, including two appeals to the United States Supreme Court. When the suit was first filed in 2005, only about one of every 75 brokers at Merrill was black and most of them were considered poor producers. The lead plaintiff, George McReynolds, contended that black brokers received little help from their managers early on and were often ostracized by co-workers. The unequal treatment compounded their disadvantages year after year, he contended. Among the many twists in the case was the admission in a deposition by Merrill’s first black chief executive, E. Stanley O’Neal, that black brokers might have a harder time because most of the firm’s prospective clients were white and might not trust their wealth to brokers who were not. The payout in the suit, which was filed on behalf of 700 black brokers who worked for Merrill, would be the largest sum ever distributed to plaintiffs in a racial discrimination suit against an American employer. From the sounds of things, these brokers were given some much deserved justice. Good for them
