THG’s second favorite Mormon is saying goodbye. Or not goodbye, based on the title David Archuleta has given his latest video blog. But the former American Idol runner-up is headed off on a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at an undisclosed country and won’t be around for a very long awhile to update fans on his life or career. “It’s been a very emotional last week,” David says below. “It’s a decision everyone knows about but it’s a very personal thing and I wanted to keep it that way. Earlier today, the pregnant Jersey Shore star sent out the following picture, featuring her fiance Jionni LaValle – and her engagement bling, of course. Snooki has been showing off her growing baby bump ever since she confirmed she is expecting, and isn’t disappointing with her maternity couture: The Snook continues to wear wild prints, the poof in her hair and sky high heels … kind of like a Jersey-fied, less enormous version of Jessica Simpson. She’s currently filming her spin-off reality show with JWoww and practicing on baby dolls . She is slated to return for a sixth season of Jersey Shore. Jamaican drug kingpin Christopher “Dudus” Coke is scheduled to be sentenced this week in federal court in Manhattan after pleading guilty last year to racketeering and assault charges. Coke, who U.S. authorities say is so ruthless that he once ordered a rival killed with a chainsaw, faces up to 23 years in prison. Coke was captured in 2010 in Jamaica during a bloody siege of his ghetto stronghold that left more than 70 dead. At the time, he waived extradition to the United States and vowed to fight drug trafficking, gun smuggling, racketeering and other charges. The 43-year-old Coke has sought mercy in a letter to the judge, but prosecutors have argued that leniency isn’t an option. They want Coke to serve the maximum term and be deported. Coke was a divisive figure in Jamaica, where he followed in the footsteps of his father, Lester Lloyd Coke, better known as Jim Brown, a leader of the notorious Shower Posse during the 1980s cocaine wars. Authorities say he took over the organization when his father, also sought in the United States, died in a mysterious fire in a Jamaican prison cell in 1992. In the U.S., Coke controlled a network of large-scale drug dealers who would send him “tribute” payments of cash, electronics, or guns, court papers say. Prosecutors also allege Coke relied on women to smuggle cocaine – concealed in condoms and inserted into their vaginas – into the United States on commercial flights to New York City or Miami. One woman who refused to do it was gang-raped and murdered, the court papers say. Several women abused by Coke’s gang in Jamaica have written to the sentencing judge asking him to give the defendant a harsh punishment. They’ve also insisted on anonymity. “I might be targeted for death by the Shower Posse if this letter is brought to the public record,” one woman wrote. “But this letter is my contribution to Jamaica and the Jamaicans for their future.” Source More On Bossip! Amber Portwood was close to going to jail yesterday, but copped a plea that allows the Teen Mom train wreck to enter a rehab program rather than do hard time. An Indiana judge agreed to a deal that allows Portwood to enter rehab instead of jail, where she could have been sentenced up to five years for various offenses. Amber’s woes stem from a December 2011 arrest for drug possession, a class D felony, and probation violation. She previously pleaded guilty to all charges. The plea deal does not afford Amber Portwood a chance to make good and get her act together, but it does not offer the 22-year-old an immediate, no-strings out. She has been locked up since December and could spend two more weeks in custody, during which time an evaluation by the Drug Court team will be conducted. Once accepted into the rehabilitation program, Amber will be released from jail and admitted into rehab. She’ll be expected to complete it and stay clean, or else. Portwood arrived in court wearing an orange-and-white striped jumpsuit, shackled at the hands and feet, to hear the judge’s approval of her rehab plea deal. Let’s see you top that, Jenelle Evans .
