Top 10 Horrible Bosses From TV And Film

The rest is here:

Horrible bosses– the bane of every working man (and woman’s) existence.  Whether they’re loud, obnoxious, or downright lazy, at some point they all inspire  homicidal tendencies in the people unlucky enough to work for them.  With the release of Horrible Bosses this Friday, The Urban Daily lists the worst of the worst offenders in corporate management from the small and big screen. Sergio Roma in Get Him To The Greek– Diddy plays record mogul Sergio Roma, whose Pinnacle Records is close to financial ruin. In the clip below, Sergio delivers a verbal tongue lashing to one of his underlings at their weekly staff meeting. J. Jonah Jameson in Spiderman– As the cantakerous  top dog at the fictional Daily Bugle, Jameson has zero tolerance for stupidity–and our friendly neighborhood Spiderman. Louie DePalma in “Taxi”–as the head dispatcher for the Sunshine Cab Company, Louie is a nasty troll who delights in spreading misery to everyone around him. Miranda Priestley in The Devil Wears Prada– the editor-in chief of Runway Magazine, (rumored to be fashioned after real life Vogue magazine’s editrix Anna Wintour).  No one can cast a withering stare better than this ice queen. Gilbert Huph in The Incredibles– Poor Gilbert Huph.  How could the soulless corporate pencil pusher know he was about to fire one of the most powerful superheroes in the world?  Watch what happens when Mr. Huph tries to conduct Bob Parr’s ‘exit interview’: Mel Sharples in  ”Alice”–Rough, gruff, and about five decades behind in  the women’s movement, Mel could definitely use a few classes in Sensitivity 101 (start at 1:25 mark). Eugene H. Krabs in “Spongebob Squarepants”–The owner of The Krusty Krab, Mr. Krabs is the crustacean Gordon Gekko of Bikini Bottom.  He will do anything for a buck, and as witnessed in clip below, will even dabble in a little eco-terrorism to do so. Bill Lumbergh in Office Space –Lumbergh is the passive-aggressive, bureaucratic type of boss who seems to forget–or just doesn’t care–that employees have a life outside their office cubicle. Wilhemina Slater in “Ugly Betty”–Cold and heartless, Wilhemina takes fashion very seriously. In the clip below, Wilhemina serves a fashion police ticket (and a pink slip) to an employee at Mode Magazine. Ari Gold in “Entourage”–Based on real life Hollywood talent agent Ari Emanuel, Ari Gold is an equal opportunity offender. From faithful assistant Lloyd to long-suffering wife Mrs. Ari, no one is safe when Ari goes Chernobyl on your ass.

Where Is The Black Green Lantern?

See the article here:

Green Lantern opens in theaters nationwide today,  and while Hollywood hottie Ryan Reynolds anchors the newest DC Comics franchise as Hal Jordan, the burning question on our lips is: “Where the heck is John Stewart?”   Actor Nick Jones Jr. was cast and had a cameo appearance in the film, but sadly his scenes only made it to the cutting room floor.  Hopefully, if the Green Lantern movie makes major bank in ticket sales, we’ll get to see John Stewart in his very own epic adventure on the big screen. RELATED: Angela Bassett Doesn’t Need Super Powers In “Green Lantern” [VIDEO] Until then, The Urban Daily presents our five favorite Green Lantern episodes in the classic “Justice League” animated series.  Voiced by “MADtv” alum Phil LaMarr , this version of Green Lantern was one of the most powerful members of the League, and was usually the last man standing in their countless battles against the bad guys.  Due to Bruce Timm and the wonderful writing of the late Dwayne McDuffie, John Stewart was elevated beyond the token black character–he was smart, complex, and featured in almost every episode throughout the show’s entire run. “In Blackest Night”—John Stewart makes a visit back to the ‘hood, even bumping into one of his old high school teachers.  But his trip down memory lane is cut short when he’s taken into custody by The Manhunters.   Green Lantern must fight for his life when put on trial by an intergalactic tribunal, who accuses him of destroying an alien planet and all its inhabitants. “Starcrossed”—The Justice League suffers the ultimate betrayal from one of their own, when Hawkgirl is revealed to be a spy doing recon for her homeworld of Thanagar.  Green Lantern and Hawkgirl’s relationship, as well as the fate of the world, hang in the balance. “Wake The Dead”—A year has passed since Hawkgirl resigned from the Justice League, and Green Lantern is now involved with new Justice League member (and part time supermodel) Vixen.  Green Lantern and Hawkgirl are reunited when they must team up to defeat super baddie Solomon Grundy. “The Once And Future Thing”—Green Lantern (along with Batman and Wonder Woman) go back in time and into to the future while chasing Kronos.  In the future, he meets Warhawk, a fierce warrior and League member–who just happens to be Green Lantern’s and Hawkgirl’s son. “Shadow of The Hawk”—When a mysterious stranger, Katar Hall, makes the moves on Hawkgirl, Green Lantern has a hard time repressing his green-eyed monster within.  Things soon evolve into a complicated love quadrangle between Green Lantern, Vixen, Katar and Hawkgirl. Laurieann Gibson: “Diddy Taught Me Without Talking”

Originally posted here:

Mrs. Boomkack is back and proving that she settles for nothing but the best! The Urban Daily ‘s Jazzy F. recently caught up to the fierce and feisty Laurieann Gibson and did an interview. Ms. Gibson opened up about what she learned from working with Diddy, how it feels to have two different TV shows running on two different networks and why she doesn’t settle for BS. Check out a few excerpts from the interview below: How does it feel to have not one, but two TV shows (E!’s “Dance Scene” and BET’s “Born To Dance) of your own? It feels amazing! It feels victorious. I can now tell you: you can make it. I can look at people who were laughed at, people who were told they couldn’t make it, people that are being held down by other people who are manipulating their gift to benefit themselves and say, “Yes, you can stand in line to help someone, but once that season is over, that person needs to give back to you.” And if you are designed to help someone then that is amazing, but if you are designed to birth something that God has for you I understand. It feels like “I am free” and it feels like “My gift can operate the way God designed it to.” It’s only gonna get better and we are not giving up anytime soon.” You’re pretty feisty and you have that fire in you. What is it that makes Laurieann say, “I am not going to take anyone’s BS”? [People’s] BS is a projection. They want to crap all over you so you won’t do what you are called to do. I’m not letting that happen to me, my crew, or anybody. I am not letting them do it! What did you learn from Diddy after working so close with him for many years? My brother Diddy taught me about the business; he taught me without talking.  He helped prepare me for the position that I am currently in.  I often reflect on how I saw him operate. It wasn’t in a mean way or in an aggressive way, but in a way that he came from nothing. No one was going to take advantage of him. What I learned is: Don’t sacrifice your gift for anybody. Be willing to walk away or it jeopardizes your truth or creative instinct.  Be willing to walk away because then you will get your respect; you will develop your own sense of greatness. But don’t ride the fence and don’t risk your instinct to have a job or belong, because then you push yourself further away from your goal. I must say that Laurieann seems to have really come full circle since her days on “In Living Color.” It’s always inspiring to see our black women doing major things in their careers. Hopefully she continues to live out her dreams and continue to inspire. Check out the Laurieann Gibson’s full interview here ! E! Chrissy Proposes To Jim Jones On “Love & Hip-Hop” [VIDEO]

More here:

Last night on “Love & Hip-Hop” the moment fans and viewers have been talking about for weeks finally happened; Chrissy Lumpkin popped the question to her boyfriend Jim Jones. After dating for six years Chrissy wasn’t going to wait around for The Capo to ask her and took matters into her own hands.  She went to his jeweler and picked out a  $12,000 engagement ring spring on him at a party announcing a “career change” for her. With Olivia at her side she squeezed into a skimpy, studded bustier and lace body stocking to set the mood, but had second thoughts. “I feel like he deserves more than a striptease before somebody asks him to marry him,” she says before scrapping the idea.  Chrissy finally gets up the nerve at the 18:40 minute mark. What do you think? Is it cool for a woman to ask a man to marry her? Fellas, did your girl propose? Let us know in the comments!
