Kidnap your b*tch, keep that, how much you love your lady money?, I know you fake ni**a, press your brakes ni**a, I’ll take you out, that’s a date, ni**a.” The Urban Daily recently spoke with Wayne’s Cash Money compadre Bow Wow, who had this to say about the beef and if Jay should respond: “ You know I’m YMCMB all day!” Bow Wow says proudly. “ I think that’s what everyone wants to see[Jay-Z Respond]; both of them are at the top of their games, Wayne’s a heavy weight, Jay’s a heavy weight. Drake Responds To Lil Wayne’s Jay-Z Dis

‘That’s a question for Wayne more than me,’ Drizzy tells MTV News of apparent jabs on ‘I’m Good.’ By Rob Markman Drake Photo: MTV News LOS ANGELES — If there is a Lil Wayne / Jay-Z beef brewing, Drake isn’t indulging. Although he is featured on Weezy’s “It’s Good” — the leaked Carter IV track that finds Lil Tunechi throwing a subliminal shot in Hov’s direction — Drizzy downplayed any involvement. “I just got a beat and did a verse over it,” Drake told MTV News from the red carpet for the BMI Urban Awards n L.A. on Friday before he accepted the award for Songwriter of the Year. “Whatever any other individual has to say, you have to ask the man himself. I just did what I know how to do. I just got on a record. I heard the beat, did a verse and heard the final product.” On the song, VMA Nominee Wayne raps, “Talkin’ ’bout Baby money? I got your Baby money/ Kidnap yo’ bitch, get that how-much-you-love-your-lady money.” To the casual listener, the line doesn’t sound like much, but fanatics can connect the lyric directly to Jay-Z’s jab on the Throne’s “H.A.M.” It all started in 2009 when Cash Money CEO Bryan “Baby” Williams objected to Jay-Z topping MTV News’ Hottest MCs list for that year. “I don’t think he the number one MC, in no kinda way,” Baby said, casting the first stone. “Wayne is the best, he do the most and he make the most money. I don’t think no n—a in the business make more money than us.” It took a few years, but Hov returned fire at the top of this year when he and Kanye leaked their first Watch the Throne track , claiming not only that Birdman and Wayne weren’t seeing Jay-Z-caliber bucks, but that financially, they couldn’t even compare to his wife, Beyonc

The Evolution Of Kelly Rowland [PHOTOS]

Read the original post:

Kelly Rowland’s Here I Am album hits stores tomorrow Tuesday July 26. We have seen her grow from a pretty young girl to a bad ass woman. She is currently on every rapper’s top 5 wifey list and killing the urban charts with her number 1 hit “Motivation.”  There has been this on going argument that Kelly Rowland is just as beautiful and talented as Beyonce for years now and I agree. Kelly has seen her share of ups and downs and is finally getting her equal share of the pie. Lets be honest, she is buzzing way more than Beyonce at the moment. In early 2009 Kelly Rowland ended her professional relation with Mathew Knowles and Columbia Records. After a year of being without a label, Kelly signed with Universal Motown and her solo career began to sky rocket. I @itsJazzyFBaby decided to give you guys a photo gallery titled, “The Evolution Of Kelly Rowland.” Lets take a look at how Kelly has become a beautiful young woman and don’t forget to pick up the album tomorrow! ‘Dark Knight Rises’ Trailer: An Expert Analysis!

We break down what we know so far about the return to Gotham City — and take a stab at some lingering questions. By Eric Ditzian and Josh Wigler Christian Bale in the teaser trailer for “Dark Knight Rises” Photo: Warner Bros. The “Dark Knight Rises” teaser trailer flickered across movie screens over the weekend, and then popped up online Monday afternoon. It features so many elusive references and inspired so much we-can’t-wait-until-the-2012-theatrical-release anticipation that we’re still talking about it today. So the MTV Movies team settled in for a detailed breakdown of what’s been unveiled, the new questions raised, and what the whole thing tells us about next year’s cinematic return to Gotham City. Batman, Where It All Began Director Christopher Nolan has spoken openly about how this film will bring his Caped Crusader trilogy to a conclusion, closing the narrative loop that kicked off with 2005’s “Batman Begins.” In that sense, it’s appropriate the trailer starts with footage (and voiceover, courtesy of Liam Neeson’s Ra’s Al Ghul ) from the original film. We also see Christian Bale’s Bruce Wayne here as a man on a mission, very much an outcast from society and attempting to rediscover his true self. That’s quite to similar to the way we might find him at the start of “Dark Knight Rises” — Batman shunned from Gotham City after his battle with the Joker in “Dark Knight.” Beyond this thematic and visual connection, the early trailer footage indicates that the League of Shadows — the crew of martial arts badasses who trained Wayne before coming to battle him — will in fact play a key role in the new film. Where it gets interesting is that Ra’s Al Ghul apparently died in “Batman Begins,” but Neeson was reportedly spotted on the “Dark Knight Rises” set and is featured prominently, at least in voice, in the trailer. Very interesting … Commissioner Desperation Jim Gordon, it’s safe to say, has seen better days, which is saying lot, considering how much crap he’s been through in the last two films. The commissioner has been shot and had to fake his own death, but none of that compares to his plight here: curled up in a hospital bed, sucking on an oxygen mask and praying that the Batman will return from exile. Gordon has suffered some sort of beatdown, but why and from whom? The implication of what he’s saying is that Gotham City is in trouble. We’ve seen in the teaser poster and through this trailer that the urban environment is literally crumbling to the ground. Desperation, both emotional and physical, seems to be the theme of the trailer — a stark contrast to the hopeful tone of the title, “Dark Knight Rises.” Gordon here is begging Wayne to rise again; when and why he does remains to be seen. The Caped Quitter As we’ve already mentioned, Batman quits his role as the protector of Gotham City at the end of “Dark Knight.” This scene of Wayne doing push-ups, which comes from “Batman Begins,” is another flashback to a character attempting to rebuild (or create out of whole cloth) a new self. We’ll greet Batman in “Dark Knight Rises” as a man without a legacy, without a rock-solid reputation, a superhero who has to start from the ground up. That’s not going to be easy. Thus, in this context, this scene almost seems like it’s part of Wayne’s “Rocky”-esque training sequence. That, or an outtake from “The Prestige.” Facing Bane We’ve seen a glimpse of Tom Hardy’s Bane in a sneak-peek photo , but this is the first time we’re seeing his face. While Bane’s look is related to his comic-book roots, Nolan once again has shown a willingness to update these iconic visuals; Bane’s mask is far more S&M badass than the luchador -like villain from the comics. Yet it’s only the briefest of looks, speaking to Nolan’s deft touch with teasers: Fans are forced to watch the trailer again and again, pausing and rewinding as we seek to study this key bad guy. Listen to That Crowd As the trailer wraps up, we hear some ominous chanting. These are sounds we’ve heard since the beginning of the “Dark Knight Rises” promotional campaign in a viral video. The chanting sounds cultish and foreign and scary; put another way, it sounds like the handiwork of the League of Shadows. We’re likely to hear more of that chanting in the months before release, and we’ll hear a heck of a lot of it in the movie itself. The question remains: How does Bane fit into the League of Shadows-heavy story line? How does that baddie come to blows with Batman, as we see toward the end of the trailer? That last shot of the two men facing off has the feel of a boxing match, the scene caught by a handheld camera, Batman bouncing up and down like he’s in the ring. Noteworthy in that shot, as well, is a mysterious character in the upper right hand corner: Who is that and why would Nolan include him or her in the trailer? “Dark Knight Rises” detectives out there, it’s time to get to work! Check out everything we’ve got on “The Dark Knight Rises.” For breaking news and previews of the latest comic book movies — updated around the clock — visit SplashPage.MTV.com . Top 10 Controversial Music Videos By Female Artists

Visit link:

Since releasing her video for “Man Down,” Rihanna has been at the center of a firestorm. Conservative groups are up in arms because of the visuals plot featuring rape and murder. Rihanna gets raped in the Anthony Mandler directed video and winds up killing her attacker. What’s crazy about all of this is most of these conservatives-whether they realize or not-are defending rapists. Nevertheless, Rihanna isn’t the first pop star to cause controversy with her music video. The Urban Daily is counting down the ten most controversial music videos by women. 10. Ashanti – The Way That I Love You For her comeback single, Ashanti made fellas think twice about cheating. In the clip, she realizes she’s not the only one and has visions of killing her beau. Many believed art was imitating life because rumors swirled about her real life boyfriend, Nelly , constantly stepping out on her. If those allegations are true, he got the hint and appeared in her next video as the loving and trust worthy partner. 9. Christina Aguilera ft. Redman – Dirrty Christina Aguilera debuted as the pop princess with a huge voice and wholesome image. Not happy with being the good girl, Christina threw on some as**less chaps and a bikini shocked the world with this video. The public’s main gripe was the message she was sending to young girls. They felt Aguilera was entirely too talented to reduce herself to booty popping and salacious lyrics. Christina responded by saying, “This is me. No glass and no pretense.” Whatever you say, Christina. 8. Britney Spears – Baby One More Time By 1998, pop music was at a standstill. Nothing interesting was happening until a fifteen year old Britney debuted her music video with her dressed as a Catholic school girl dressing and dancing provocatively. Many parents condemned the record company for selling sex with such a blatant disregard for the messages being sent to their young audience. The only issue was the young Spears came up with the concept herself, knowing it would get her the attention needed to become a world class pop star. She was right. So what does that say about us, the people who ate it up? 7. Ciara – Ride The clip from Ciara’s first single from her latest disc stirred up the drama for many reasons. First, the racy lyrics already caused some women to shy away from the song. However, men were drawn in by the overtly sexual depictions of Ciara. Riding a mechanical bull in a wet t-shirt and hot pants and wearing a itty bitty swimsuit and a fur coat had the guys drooling.  My mom saw the video and responded, “All she’s missing is a pole!” BET deemed the video so explicit, it was banned from the network and became an internet sensation. 6. Fiona Apple – Criminal In 1997, Fiona Apple slithered onto our radar with her hit, “Criminal.” The then barely legal singer’s video featured the aftermath of a wild party. Apple is seen in various states of undress. The heroin chic look thought up by director, Mark Romanek , was criticized relentlessly. The heat became so much for Fiona, she denounced her own video in an acceptance speech at the MTV VMAs the following year. Criminal, indeed. 5. Lady Gaga and Beyonce – Telephone Illuminati conspiracy theories aside, “Telephone” was one of the most talked about videos in recent history because some didn’t understand it. Others thought it was too sexy for television. The rest of us just enjoyed watching Beyonce . Showcasing lesbian acts, murder, and nudity, Lady Gaga and Beyonce do their take on Thelma & Louise. While many were distraught over the themes, there was a poignant moment. The conversation about trust is absolutely true. 4. Madonna – Justify My Love If controversy was a man, Madonna would be its wife. Never has anyone conjured more scrutiny for images in music videos than The Material Girl.  For this 1992 clip, Madonna bucked at conservatives with images of homosexuality, bondage, and voyuerism. Once MTV banned the video for its sexual nature, Madonna capitalized on the media storm by releasing it on VHS in conjunction with her book aptly titled, SEX. Lenny Kravitz , who wrote the song, is still making money off that. Madonna – Justify my Love from OfDreamAndDrama on Vimeo . 3. Erykah Badu – Window Seat Erykah Badu has always been the artist to push boundaries in the R&B genre. Her videos are thought provoking pieces of art. This is especially true for “Window Seat.” A video depicting Badu strolling the same path in downtown Dallas as JFK rode the day he was killed, while stripping her clothes off. The reactions in the clip are real. Erykah was fined for her body baring stunt. In case you didn’t know, the concept is Erykah is taking off the layers of learned behavior until she is free enough to think critically on her own. When she is finally able to do so, she’s killed because society doesn’t want us to think differently than the majority. That backside wasn’t bad to look at either. Erykah Badu “Window Seat” from triggerhappy on Vimeo . 2. Madonna – Like A Prayer Burning crosses, making love to saints, and a Black man playing said saint. Oh my! The Pepsi generation wasn’t ready for Madonna’s ideas. She lost her Pepsi endorsement after the video aired. Back in the 1980s, it was still very taboo for interracial couples to be shown on television. Blacks were never portrayed as biblical icons in that time. As forward thinking as this video is, I’m throwing some shade for the burning crosses. Every time I see a burning cross, I think the KKK is about to do me like Emmett Till. What were you trying to say to the Black community, Madge? Inquiring minds still want to know. 1. M.I.A. – Born Free M.I.A. has been pushing buttons with her artistry since bursting on the scene in the early 2000s. In the clip for “Born Free,” she holds a mirror up to America to show them how stupid we look as we randomly attack people for being Muslims. Only in her video, soldiers were attacking all redheads. Soldiers were seen kicking in random apartment doors just to see if the residents were redheads. If they weren’t they just left. If they were, they would be put in in prison and tortured. It’s a no brainer why American music fans hated this video. Who wants to be shown how much of a jackass they’ve been?
