By Jocelyn Vena Jay-Z Photo: Bryan Bedder/ Getty Images Fans are eager to see Betty White host “Saturday Night Live” on May 8, and now it seems that comedy’s most favorite OG will be joined by hip-hop’s biggest star: Jay-Z has been tapped as the musical guest for the show’s May 8 episode, according to multiple sources. Both will appear on the Mother’s Day episode, which will feature appearances by a number of female “SNL” vets including Tina Fey (who hosted the show last weekend with musical guest Justin Bieber), Amy Poehler, Molly Shannon, Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer and Rachel Dratch. Jay-Z, who will headline Coachella on Friday night (April 16), has appeared as a musical guest on the show several times before, but this appearance will mark White’s first turn as “SNL” host. “Years ago, I turned it down three times,” said White, who’s been enjoying a career resurgence thanks to her role in “The Proposal” and her buzzed-about Super Bowl Snickers commercial from earlier this year. “It’s so New York, and I’m not New York at all. But my agent said he’d divorce me if I didn’t do it, and I love my agent. “It’s lovely, and at my age it’s certainly unexpected,” she added. “I’ve got so much energy, it’s ridiculous. I love working. My schedule is a feverish one, and I’m used to that.” In an interview with USA Today in March, “SNL” executive producer Lorne Michaels admits he “always wanted” White to host the late-night comedy program. “It took on a groundswell,” Michaels says of a Facebook campaign that began in response to White’s Super Bowl ad. “It isn’t something we would have said no to,” but the campaign “validated that — ‘Oh, that’d be fun.’ … It was the outpouring of affection from fans, and we feel the same way.” Are you pumped to see Jay-Z on “SNL” again? New Book: Oprah Winfrey Once Lived With, Boned John Tesh

In a word: Ewww!!!! At various (unfounded) points over the last few times, Oprah Winfrey has been linked romantically to BFF Gayle King. Now, the talk show queen has another report to deal with that focuses on her love life: According to an upcoming, unauthorized Oprah biographer by Kitty Kelley, Winfrey was involved with John Tesh many years ago, long before she hosted a hit talk show and started dating Stedman Graham. The pair allegedly lived together in Nashville in the mid-70s, as both worked in broadcast television there. Why did Tesh, not a syndicated radio host and musician, call off the relationship? The “social pressure” of their interracial romance, an anonymous source claims. “[He] couldn’t take it anymore…He walked out in the middle of the night…he told me he later felt very guilty about it,” said the insider. The trashy book, which seeks to exploit Oprah’s fame and private life, refers to Stedman as “boring as hell.” Without getting into specifics (likely because she has no evidence to back anything up), Kelley tried to create buzz around her book by telling USA Today : “I know people are expecting me to ‘out’ her. But I think she’s just asexual. She’s poured all of her energies into her career. And if she is, she is never, ever going to come out. So relax, people.” Yeah! Relax, people! Stop getting so worked up over a story that never had a shred of proof and is only brought up by the least respectable publications around!

Twist of Kate: TLC Announces New Kate Gosselin Reality Show AND Bonus Kate Plus 8 Specials

Kate Gosselin is officially taking over reality TV. From the TLC hit Jon & Kate Plus 8 , to her current stint on Dancing with the Stars , she’s become a staple. Now fans can prepare for an-all new Twist of Kate . Seriously, that’s the name of her new show. As an added bonus, the network will be milking its cash cow to the max this summer with Kate Plus 8 specials. As the title points out, the Kate Plus 8 specials will focus on her life as a single mom and costar the young Gosselin brood she’s now accused of abandoning . Meanwhile, in 12 episodes beginning this summer, Twist of Kate will feature Kate responding to fan letters from those inspired by her, who apparently exist. A face that definitely needs to be on TV more often. According to USA Today, her story is seen by fans a means to profile women in their own challenging situations, and will form the focal point of her new show. “I look at it as a loose concept,” Kate says, stating the obvious. “I just want to be out there learning from others, helping to provide insight whenever I can.” She adds, “I don’t consider myself an expert on anything.” Kate does, however, steadfastly defend her own parenting, calling Jon Gosselin’s attempt to wrest custody away from her a pathetic, desperate maneuver . In the end, it comes down to support from those who love her: “The fact that people support me and want the kids and I to do well is flattering,” she says. “I never understood the importance of fans until we struggled with tough times.” As for her TV pursuit already in progress, all we have to say is this: Free Tony .
