Sgt. Darrell O’Neill, 58, of Everett, Wash., has served in the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office for over 30 years. He allegedly had sex with Carmela Panico, the owner of several bikini barista coffee shops that allegedly provided the front for her escort service, in exchange for giving her information about a police investigation targeting Panico, according to a police report filed in Snohomish County on Tuesday. According to the report, O’Neill received sexual favors from Panico, her manager Samantha Lancaster, and other baristas. The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office did not return a request for comment. The investigation began on March 10, 2013 when the Snohomish Sheriff’s Office received tips of lewd activity in a bikini barista coffee stands called Twin Peaks and Java Juggs, according to the report. The sheriff’s office arrested several baristas. They told interviewers about a “dirty cop” who frequently visited the stands and requested sexual encounters in exchange for information, the report said. The “dirty cop” was identified by the baristas as O’Neill, according to the report. Surveillance footage captured O’Neill visiting Panico while he was on and off-duty. “O’Neill has provided guidance to the baristas as to when the best times to ‘perform’ their shows,” the report said. ”He intentionally refrained from performing his duty imposed upon him by law.” O’Neill has been charged with promoting prostitution, official misconduct, and criminal conspiracy. WLTX reports that Larry Durant, 58, of Word International Ministries in Sumter is accused in court documents of leading “private prayer sessions” in which he told his victims that sex acts would prevent them from “liking females, contracting sexual diseases or becoming pregnant early.” Police, who began investigating Durant in May, said they aren’t sure how many victims Durant may have abused. The criminal behavior allegedly began in 2011. In a separate story, the grandmother of one of the alleged victims spoke to WLTX about Durant. “We thought he was really talking to the children, but find out that wasn’t the case,” she said. “All I want is justice done, that’s all. Man Sentenced To 40 Years For Getting Freaky With Minors According to Raw Story An Indiana man named Richard Finkbiner was sentenced to 40 years in prison on Wednesday for coercing more than 13 minors, mostly teen boys, from across the country into stripping and performing lewd acts for web cameras. According to the Associated Press, 39-year-old Finkbiner used a false online identity to gain the teenagers’ trust, then threatened them with exposure if they did not do his bidding. “The sheer number of individuals Finkbiner exploited and extorted justifies a sentence Finkbiner is almost certain not to outlive,” said prosecutors June 18 in court documents from Terre Haute, Indiana U.S. District Court. The estimated number of victims is believed to be higher than 150, but only around a dozen were positively identified by prosecutors. Finkbiner targeting teens between 12 and 17 years of age, entering chat rooms on Omegle.com, a website that connects users randomly in one-on-one chats. Finkbiner fooled other users by using an avatar depicting someone other than himself engaged in a sex act. He would gain the teens’ trust and convince them to disrobe and take pictures with the cameras on their computers. The Brazil, Indiana resident would then threaten to send those photos to the teenagers’ parents and friends if they didn’t comply with his demands for even more risque and potentially humiliating photos. Linkliner called his victims “cam slaves.” He accumulated more than 22,000 separate video files of his “slaves” over the course of multiple years. He has been sentenced to 40 years behind bars and fined $700,000. The Indianapolis Star reported that Finkbiner was arrested in April of 2012 on “11 counts of sexual exploitation of children, two counts of extortion and one count of possession of child freaky flicks.” Court records cited the case of a 12-year-old boy who refused to do more explicit videos, but pleaded with Finkbiner not to post the videos he had already done online. Finkbiner posted them anyway. In January, Finkbiner agreed to plead guilty to child exploitation, extortion and possession of child freaky flicks in exchange for a recommended sentence of 30 to 50 years in prison. On the judge’s orders, as with most cases involving sex offenders, Finkbiner will be supervised by federal officials even after his eventual release in the 2050s, if he should live that long. Forty years isn’t enough. The bastard should have got life in prison so he can have his anus busted down to the white meat.

The Face Of Innocence? Indiana Man Claims He Didn’t Murk His Four Friends In Drug-Related Quadruple Homicide

This guy says he’s innocent — do you believe him? This guy looks like he’s still on the pipe , but does that mean he’s a cold blooded killer? Via NYDailyNews reports : An Indiana man who was the last to see his friends alive told a local newspaper last week he didn’t commit the horrendous quadruple murder. But police in Bartholomew County now say Samuel Earl Sallee, 55, killed the four people in Waynesville last month in what appears to be a drug-related crime. “Sallee quickly developed from a person of interest, into our prime, and only suspect at this time, for the murder of Shawn L. Burton, Aaron T. Cross, Thomas W. Smith and Katheryn ‘Kathy Burton,” county Sheriff Mark Gorbett wrote in a news release Tuesday. The accusation comes days after Sallee told the Indianapolis Star he was not the killer. In an hour-long interview, Sallee, held in a local jail on an unrelated charge since just days after the May 11 murders, told The Star a detective was trying to frame him for the slayings which he insisted he did not commit. “He’s chasing me,” Sallee said. “And the person who did this is probably still out there. He’s barking up the wrong damn tree.” Police recently questioned Sallee about the crimes. All four victims were found shot to death. The three men were found in the living room while Katheryn Burton was found in a bedroom. Burton’s son happened upon the crime scene and called the cops. Police said methamphetamine was found in the house. Sallee reportedly knew Katheryn Burton since the two were in elementary school and had gotten to know the other three victims. During his interview with the newspaper, Sallee gave a detailed account of his day, admitting he’d met with the victims at the house where they were murdered. “If I had hung around there longer,” Sallee said, “I would have been the fifth person killed.” Police say that’s not the case. Sallee was arrested May 13 for failing to appear in court on an unrelated charge. He was held until police made their case in the murders and announced they had their man on Tuesday. Sallee has yet to be formally charged with the murders. “I’m just glad,” Misti Murray, an ex-girlfriend of victim Shawn Burton, told the newspaper. “It’s not over, but the stress and mourning and all that’s over. Now it’s just the trial, arraignments, court date and all that. We’ll be there in the courtroom every day.” We hope they get to the bottom of this so these families can get closure. American Student Falls To His Death In Rome According to Mail Online A 21-year-old American student fell to his death from a wall in the Trastevere district of Rome after allegedly going on a pub crawl with friends Monday night. The victim, identified as Indiana native Andrew Keith Carr, was walking on a ledge near the historic bridge Ponte Sisto when he lost his balance and tumbled 50 feet below onto the sidewalk along the River Tiber, according to police. The Italian newspaper La Repubblica reported that Carr, who attended classes at John Cabot University in Rome, had been drinking with friends in the historic Campo dei Fiori square and the Trastevere district before he ended up on the wall along the river at around 2am. The inebriated 21-year-old student got on the ledge about 50 feet above the sidewalk and was pretending to be a tightrope walker when he fell to his death, witnesses told police. Officials say Carr died on impact after breaking his cervical vertebrae. Law enforcement agents who responded to the scene after getting reports of a man falling from the wall questioned the victims’ friends, who were said to be a state of shock. Carr’s death is the third fatality since 2007 involving a foreign national falling to his death along the River Tiber. It is believed that alcohol had played a role in the previous incidents as well. According to the TV station Fox59, Carr, who was a student at Marquette University in Wisconsin, traveled to Rome as part of a study abroad program. The 21-year-old graduate of Greencastle Senor High School in Indiana studied operations and supply chain management in the College of Business Administration, and was frequently on the dean’s list, according to Marquette University President Rev. Scott Pilarz. Carr was also a brother at the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and a member the school’s Quidditch team. ‘His light only graced this campus for a short time, but his memory will live in his family, his friends and our Marquette community forever,’ wrote Pilarz. Last July, a 19-year-old American student was killed along the river after falling off the Bridge of Umberto I following a night of drinking with friends, the Italian-language site Roma Today reported. In 2009, a 20-year-old Australian man fell to his death into the River Tiber under similar circumstances, drawing attention to the ‘pub crawl’ phenomenon popular among tourists and college students, who pay 20-30 euros to drink in several participating establishments. Stop The Violence: 15-Year-Old Boy Arrested For Stabbing His 4-Year-Old And 10-Year-Old Brothers To Death

Teenager Arrested For Killing Brothers According to NY Daily News A teenager was arrested on Thursday after his two younger brothers, ages 4 and 10, were found stabbed to death at the family’s home in West Point, Utah, Wednesday night, police said. Davis County Sheriff Todd Richardson said the 15-year-old suspect appeared to work alone and is being held at the Farmington Bay Youth Detention Center. “The manner of death appears to be consistent with penetrating knife wounds, however, the official cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office,” Richardson said in a media release. The boys’ mother called the Davis County Sheriff’s Office at 7:36 p.m. after she returned home and found her 4-year-old son was dead. She reported that her 10- and 15-year-olds were missing. Officers searched the house and found the 10-year-old’s body. The eldest brother wasn’t located until shortly before midnight. He appeared to be in good condition, but was taken to the hospital for evaluation, police said. The case is being investigated as a homicide. The county attorney’s office is working with authorities on whether to charge him as an adult or a juvenile. The suspect’s name, which was originally reported by local papers, is being withheld because he is a minor. He had been placed in charge of the younger boys while their mother took some of her other children to a dance recital, the Salt Lake Tribune reported. Lindsey Caballero, a neighbor and family friend, told the Associated Press that the 15-year-old was the couple’s oldest and biological son. The couple had had six children, four of whom were adopted, including the victims. The father was away on active military duty and has reportedly been notified. Ricky Gervais has created quite a bit of controversy over his reaction to the reaction of other people in the face of this week’s Oklahoma tornado. The comedian – who dared to mock Justin Bieber last month – retweeted an MTV News message Tuesday that read: “Beyonce, Rihanna & Katy Perry send prayers to #Oklahoma #PrayForOklahoma.” He wrote along with it: “I feel like an idiot now… I only sent money.” Gervais then included the following hashtag/message on his account: “You can support #Moore response by txting REDCROSS to 90999 to give $10, or online at redcross.org #ActuallyDoSomethingForOklahoma.” The comedian, a well-known atheist, drew criticism for making fun of those who were praying for the victims, but he was undeterred, Tweeting again yesterday: “Praying for something but not doing anything to make it happen has the same effect as writing to Santa & not letting mummy read the letter.” Gervais concluded that “the best way to help the disaster victims” was through monetary donations. Jared Weston Walter, 26, is accused of playing with himself and ‘squirting man-juices’ on heads of TriMet bus passengers in Portland, Oregon, The Oregonian reported. Walter allegedly gave a female passenger the special protein treatment at about 7 a.m. Tuesday, and authorities believe he did the same thing to at least two other women over the past three weeks. “At the time of those first two reports, the victims were unsure as to what had transpired, and the seriousness of the offense was not understood,” wrote Sgt. Pete Simpson in a statement obtained by The Oregonian. Walter has become known as the “TriMet barber” because in 2010, he was convicted of cutting off the hair of random bus passengers and spreading super glue on their heads. He was sentenced to 13 months in prison and two years of parole, according to KATU, and was just recently paroled. Now he’s facing charges of sex abuse, harassment, disorderly conduct, public indecency and interfering with public transportation. Men Badly Beat Gay Guys According to NY Post Two Manhattan men have been arrested and at least three others are being sought for badly beating two gays near Madison Square Garden earlier Friday morning. The assault, which led to one of the men undergoing eye surgery at Bellevue Hospital, occurred just five days after a gay couple were beaten near the Garden following Sunday’s New York Knick’s game. In this morning’s incident, the victims, age 27 and 37 who live on the west side of Manhattan, were set upon by a pack of five to six individuals shortly before 5 a.m. near West 32d Street, after they tried to get into a billiard parlor. When one of the suspects was asked if they were gay — and acknowledged they were — the violence began. “They came after us and fought with us because we are homosexuals,” one of the victims told cops. Asllan Berisha, of West 95th Street, and Brian Ramirez, of Third Avenue, both 21 and of Manhattan, are charged with gang assault and assault as a hate crime and are awaiting arraignment in Manhttan Criminal Court. A PAPD sergeant and two cops arrested the men; cops are checking surveillance videos in bid to locate other suspects. Could you imagine being beaten so hard you have to have eye surgery?

Gun Violence Declining in U.S. While People Think It’s Rising, Studies Suggest

Gun violence has actually plunged in the U.S. since its peak in the middle of the 1990s, according to two new studies of government data. At the same time, a majority of Americans believe it is on the rise . Gun crime statistics are comprised of murders, assaults, robberies and other crimes, and the Pew Research Center found that they’re down overall. In less than two decades, the gun murder rate has been nearly cut in half, their research suggested, while other gun crimes fell even more sharply. This parallels a broader drop in violent crimes committed with or without guns, which peaked during the 1990s and has fallen sharply since then. The decline has been more modest since the turn of the century, but overall, the number of gun killings dropped 39 percent between 1993 and 2011. The Bureau of Justice Statistics reported in a separate study released Tuesday that gun crimes that weren’t fatal fell by 69 percent in that time. However, guns still remain the most common murder weapon in the U.S. Also notably, despite this measurable drop in gun crime, only 12 percent of Americans surveyed believe gun crime has declined compared with 1993. Twenty-six percent of those polled said they believed that it had stayed the same in the past two decades, and 56 percent thought it had increased. It’s unclear whether media coverage is behind that, but crime has become a growing focus of TV news, and several recent events have been extremely high-profile. From the Connecticut shooting to the Aurora movie theater massacre, the Boston bombing and beyond, it’s hard to escape coverage of the worst tragedies. Also, while the rate of violent crime is down, it’s got a long ways to go. While violence has dropped, the United States still has a higher murder rate than most other developed countries, though not the highest in the world. Experts have no simple answer for why violent crime is down, attributing it to everything from a diminishing crack cocaine market to surging prison populations. Some researchers have even linked dropping crime to reduced lead in gasoline, which can cause increased aggression and impulsive behavior. Victims of gun killings are overwhelmingly male and black, according to Bureau of Justice Statistics and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Compared with other parts of the country, the South had the highest rates of gun violence, including both murders and other violent gun crimes.
