Report: James Holmes Would Enter Guilty Plea in Exchange for Life Sentence

The man allegedly behind multiple cold-blooded shootings in Aurora, Colorado says he will plead guilty in court if it means he will be spared the death penalty. According to The Associated Press, attorneys for James Holmes told prosecutors today in court that their client will own up to the horrific crimes of July, 12 2012 in exchange for life in prison. Opposing counsel is reportedly weighing the offer and will speak to families of the victims before responding. Holmes was arrested for murdering 12 people during a showing of The Dark Knight Rises last summer, while shooting an additional 58 individuals. He has been charged with 24 counts of first degree murder and 116 counts of attempted murder.

Kevin Clash: Accusers Have No Right to Sue Given Statute of Limitations

Former Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash is trying to get all three of the lawsuits alleging sexual misconduct by him dismissed, citing statutes of limitations. He stands accused of inappropriate sexual relations with boys under the age of 18; Clash previously denied all of the allegations against him. Clash attorney Michael Berger wrote in a brief Friday: “There are two applicable types of statutes of limitations , a six-year one based on when the right of action has accrued, and a three-year one based on when the alleged victim turned 18 and was therefore no longer under the disability of being a minor.” According to Clash’s camp, both have lapsed. Cecil Singleton , the first to file suit against the former Sesame Street staple, said in court documents that his interaction with Clash occurred in 2003. He was 15 at the time. He stated that he wasn’t “aware he had suffered adverse psychological and emotional effects from Kevin Clash’s sexual acts and conduct until 2012.” The second plaintiff, who filed as John Doe, said in his suit that he was 16 when he had an inappropriate sexual relationship with Clash in 2000. A third plaintiff, identified only as S.M., charged in a complaint that he was “16 or 17” when he had sexual contact with Clash in the mid-1990s. Yet another man, Sheldon Stephens , accused Clash of similar behavior before settling out of court … then saying he wishes he hadn’t settled. Berger states in today’s filing that the three men suing Clash would have needed to file suit, respectively, in 2009, 2006 and 2001 to be within six years. Or, based on their respective ages, in 2009, 2003 and 2000, respectively as the latest possible dates to be within three years of them turning 18. All three suits were filed in November and December of 2012. Jeff Herman, who represents all three plaintiffs, tells E! News he doesn’t think a motion to “avoid liability on technical grounds” will be successful. “It should be noted his motion does not say the abuse did not happen, just that it is too late to file the complaints,” Herman told the network in response. “The law we are proceeding under recognizes the rights of victims to bring their lawsuits within six years from the time they connect their injuries to the abuse.” “We are hopeful the Court will see it our way, however, by being able to bring their claims forth publicly the victims are already further along in the healing process.”

Jesus Take The Wheel: Brazilian Evangelical Pastor Convinced Congregation The Holy Spirit Was Released Through His “Sacred Milk”

God don’t like ugly. These days everywhere we look there seems to be some skanky charlatan charading as a man of God , but this case has to be one of the worst! Via Vatican Crimes reports : Valdeci Sobrino Picanto is a Brazilian Evangelical Pastor. He has been arrested after deceiving the faithful using the name of the “Holy Spirit” by using these foolish lies. This criminal pastor claimed that the Holy Spirit would secrete from his “member” in the form of “sacred milk”. This pastor said that his “member” was blessed and that “the Lord had consecrated him with divine milk of the Holy Spirit” and, of course, he had to release it in order to “evangelize”. According to the testimony of one of his victims: “He has convinced us that only God could come into our lives through our mouth and that’s why he would do what he did”. Often, after worship, pastor Valdeci would take us to the where the funds were kept at the back of the Church and asked us to “work jaws” on him until the Holy Spirit would come through his release”. This pastor is already in jail where, he said when they arrested him that he intends to continue watering his cellmates with his sacred milk. Now that’s dedication. YUCK!

Citizens Unite: Republicans Who Voted ‘No’ On Sandy Relief Get Slammed With Angry Phone Calls!

Some 67 GOP members voted “No” on $9 billion in aid , and good ‘ole boy Paul Lyan was one of the heartless politicos who wouldn’t give additional assistance to victims in NJ and NY. SMH. Via the NY Daily Mail : Republican lawmakers who voted against the first Hurricane Sandy relief package scrambled to explain their votes as their offices were swamped Saturday by a deluge of angry phone calls from storm victims. Sixty-seven members of the House of Representatives, all Republicans, voted against the $9.7 billion funding package that will help the ailing federal flood insurance program to pay the legitimate claims of those impacted by the historic storm. Most of the lawmakers explained that they were making a statement not against the victims in the northeast states, which all lean Democratic, but rather the federal government’s bloated budget.”Being from South Carolina, I can understand the need for disaster relief,” said Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC). “However, we’re over $16 trillion in debt, and this bill did not offset the disaster relief funds with spending cuts in other areas.” Some of the representatives who voted against the measure on Friday hail from the Gulf Coast states that received billions of federal aid – some within two weeks – after being hit by Hurricane Katrina. “Of course, we are sympathetic to the hurricane victims,” said Laura Chambers, spokeswoman for Rep. Steven Palazzo (R-MS), who represents cities like Gulfport and Biloxi that were nearly washed away by the killer 2005 storm. “But on the heels of a fiscal cliff deal that added $4 trillion to our existing $16 trillion national debt, we must ensure that disaster relief is paid for,” she said. Staffers of several Congressional Republicans confirmed Saturday that their offices had received scores of angry calls and emails from people furious about their vote. The Daily News printed the office phone numbers of the 67 lawmakers who sided against the bill. That vote total – and the looming clash over the nation’s debt limit – could foreshadow a tougher fight to get the rest of the $60.4 billion package passed when it comes to a vote Jan. 15. The Club for Growth, a conservative lobbying group that advocates for limited government and low taxes, has already warned lawmakers that they would campaign against any candidate who votes for the aid bill. The group demanded that every dollar spent be offset by one cut from somewhere else in the federal budget. “It doesn’t help the nation to pass a giant, overpriced bill that isn’t paid for,” said group spokesman Barney Keller. “This is Congress’ fault. All we’re asking for is them to spend the money responsibly.” Damn…we’ve got some cold-hearted people up on Capitol Hill. Images via AP

Kendall Jenner: I Hate the Paparazzi!

Kendall Jenner took to Twitter this week and made her feelings on the paparazzi very well-known: She ain’t a fan. “there’s nothing that irritates me more than when people take pics of me/my family/ or anyone in this industry and do not ask,” wrote the half-sister of Kim Kardashian . Of course, Kendall failed to mention that this rarely occurs, as the Kardashians have deals in place with most agencies in which they alert photographers to their impending presence at various locations. But we’ll ignore that detail for now. Continued Jenner: “don’t sit there taking pics of me as if I’m a statue, or an artifact in a museum. I can see you and it makes me uncomfortable. I’m a human being and it’s very rude not to ask. you wouldn’t appreciate it either.” Possibly true. But they may accept the trade-off of this irritation if it means millions of dollars for very little work. Something to think about, Kendall.

Donald Trump Releases Birth Certificate, Demands $5 Million From Bill Maher

Loudmouth birther extraordinaire Donald Trump is back in the middle of another birth certificate-related controversy, although this time it involves: His own. Bill Maher. The real estate mogul sent a copy of his New York City birth certificate to comedian Maher, who made a Trump-like demand to see the document. Maher, mocking Trump’s PR stunt announcement that he’d donate $5 million to charity if President Obama released his college records, made Trump an offer. On The Tonight Show , Maher said he would donate $5 million to charity if Trump could prove he isn’t the “spawn of his mother having sex with an orangutan.” Maher, of course, is a staunch Democrat and Obama supporter, while Trump made an enormous deal about Obama’s birth certificate back in early 2011. On Tuesday, a lawyer for the Celebrity Apprentice star called Maher’s bluff in hilarious fashion, releasing proof that he is the son of Fred Trump, not an orangutan. In a letter, he told Maher to please remit the $5 million to Mr. Trump immediately for donation to the following five charities in equal amounts: Hurricane Sandy Victims The Police Athletic League The American Cancer Society The March of Dimes The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Well played by The Donald. A representative for Maher did not immediately return a request for comment. On Monday, though, he told Leno he did not want to start a war with The Donald. “I’m not looking for a feud with Donald Trump,” Maher said. Too late. Your move Bill.

Hate It Or Love It?!?! Pennsylvania Governor Suing NCAA Over Penn State Sanctions

For the love of football , and saving face, PA Governor Tom Corbett has vowed to fight the NCAA’s sanctions against Penn State . According to CNN , he’s blasting the FBI report that was made earlier this year too: Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett announced plans Wednesday to file an anti-trust lawsuit against the NCAA over its sanctions against Penn State University following the Jerry Sandusky child abuse scandal. Last July, the NCAA levied unprecedented sanctions against the university, including a fine of $60 million. It also stripped 14 seasons of football victories from late head coach Joe Paterno. “These sanctions did not punish Sandusky,” or those who allegedly helped cover up his repeated abuse of disadvantaged children, said Corbett at a news conference in State College. He said they instead affect past and current students who were not part of the scandal. “I cannot and will not let it happen without a fight,” said Corbett, adding that the Sandusky case was a criminal matter and not a violation of NCAA rules. Corbett also called a university-funded review of the scandal led by former FBI Director Louis Freeh an incomplete report. Freeh’s 267-page review was released in July and blamed former university president Graham Spanier, Paterno, suspended Athletic Director Tim Curley, and ex-Vice President Gary Schultz for allegedly taking part in a cover-up to avoid bad publicity. The scandal led to Spanier’s ouster and shocked the nation after Freeh’s team concluded that the school’s top administrators had “empowered” Sandusky, the former defensive coordinator for the football team, to continue his abuse. The NCAA said in a statement Wednesday it was disappointed by the governor’s action. “Not only does this forthcoming lawsuit appear to be without merit, it is an affront to all of the victims in this tragedy — lives that were destroyed by the criminal actions of Jerry Sandusky,” said Donald M. Remy, NCAA executive vice president and general counsel. “While the innocence that was stolen can never be restored, Penn State has accepted the consequences for its role and the role of its employees and is moving forward. Today’s announcement by the governor is a setback to the university’s efforts.” Penn State also issued a statement Wednesday saying it remained “committed to full compliance with the Consent Decree, the Athletics Integrity Agreement and, as appropriate, the implementation of the Freeh report recommendations.” The fine is expected to be paid over five years and will fund an endowment with a mission of fighting child abuse and supporting victims. Pennsylvania’s U.S. House delegation objects to the NCAA’s plans to spend only 25% of those funds within the state. The delegation wants the association to spend all of the $60 million in Pennsylvania, according to a November letter to the NCAA. “While we fully support the stated purpose of the endowment, we believe its funds should be used solely for programs and organizations within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, where a need exists for the creation of prevention programs for abused children,” the letter stated. Sandusky, 68, was convicted last June on 45 counts of child abuse, ranging from corruption of minors to involuntary deviate intercourse, which were laid out in graphic testimony by his accusers over the course of the less-than-two-week trial. In October, he was sentenced to 30 to 60 years in prison, meaning he’ll likely die behind bars. SMH. The NCAA’s sanctions were most definitely harsh, but then again, so was the corruption that took place for years. Do you think the Governor should take a seat and not dig this sh*t up again?? Fair Or Foul? San Francisco High School Student Suspended For Writing Poem About Newtown Shooting, “I Know Why He Pulled The Trigger”

Does anyone respect freedom of speech anymore? San Francisco High School Student Suspended For Newtown Shooting Poem Via Examiner On Dec. 30 the “Today Show” reported the story about San Francisco high school senior Courtni Webb. Webb, 17, is facing “possible expulsion” for writing a poem about the Newton, Conn., Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. Courtni wasn’t trying to be dark and depressed in her poem, but she didn’t write memorials to the victims either. Instead, Courtni wrote a poem about Adam Lanza and what she saw regarding his drive to a mass murder in a children’s classroom. She didn’t write about flowers and rainbows. She wrote, “They want to hold me back……I understand the killings in Connecticut. I know why he pulled the trigger…. society won’t take the blame. We’re full of a society of haters and blamers” What some might see as a child’s way of speaking out and dealing with such a tragedy, others are seeing as part of a zero tolerance approach to violence within Courtni Webb’s San Francisco high school. Webb didn’t turn the poem in as her assignment; it was something she had written for herself. However, the teacher discovered it in her personal notebook and turned it over to the principal. Webb’s mother thinks the school district is overreacting. For now, she is suspended until further notice. Courtni, who writes “all types” of poetry to express herself, told “Today” that she was just trying to express “her belief that tragedies in Sandy Hook happen because people feel helpless.” Peep the video of Courtni reading her poem below. How do you feel about Courtni’s writing? Was she wrong for writing such a poem? Was the teacher wrong for reporting her to the principal?? Image via YouTube
