Discussion: What Are You Playing This Weekend?

One of TheFeed ‘s readers has been bombarding our email boxes with a simple message for weeks:

X-Play Previews Crackdown 2’s Team Deathmatch and Rocket Tag

The term “rocket tag” should immediately bring a big goofy grin to your face. If it doesn’t, the joy within you is dead. Anyway, rocket tag is one of the many, many reasons to be excited about Ruffian Games’ explosive sequel Crackdown 2 . X-Play’s Morgan Webb caught up with the game’s creative director Billy Thomson during PAX East 2010 to find out more about Crackdown 2 ’s delicious rocket-fueled mode. “There’s a yellow orb that’s created within the game world. One person can pick it up at a time. The longer you control the yellow orb, the more points you get…If anybody can hit you with a rocket, you’ll drop the orb, somebody else picks it up, and it just rotates like that…It’s just constant explosions. It’s really good fun.” Rocket tag mayhem and even more multiplayer goodness await just below:

Mid-Day Discussion: Will I Wake Up For An iPad?

It’s official, readers. I have iPad fever. I wanted an iPhone 3GS; I resisted the temptation to upgrade. With the iPad, I was convinced it was something worth picking up once the price dropped or the second generation was announced. That’s not the case anymore. The current plan is to stumble out of bed at 5:00 AM and walk over to the local Apple store by 6:00 AM. If 6:00 AM isn’t early enough, well…I’ll just order one through Apple.com and patiently wait. And by patiently wait, of course, I mean scream loudly and be bummed out. I hope I don’t reinact this week’s Modern Family … Do you guys think I’ll mange to wake up for an iPad? Red Dead Redemption Life In The West: Part Two Trailer

At this point, Rockstar Games is just being mean. Every week, they put out another fantastic video showcasing the incredible depth and complexity of their gorgeous looking western title Red Dead Redemption , knowing full well that it will make gamers curse every day that isn’t May 18. In the latest installment in their “Life in the West” series of videos, Rockstar explores the interplay between gangs and towns, roadside ambushes and bounty hunting, and they show off more and more amazing gunplay (I’ll never get tired of watching dudes’ hats go flying off their heads after being shot. Genius.) Watch Larger Version of this Video

Morning Hangover: April 2

I don’t know about you, but I always feel a little let-down on April 2nd. I like the April Fool’s Day tradition of absurdity ruling, and not being able to believe anything you read. My favorite prank of the day: Funny or Die’s fake Justin Bieber-centric site Bieber or Die. Ha! Did you pull any good pranks yesterday? Did you have any pulled on you? I can only hope your girlfriend didn’t pull the infamous: “I think I might be pregnant!” joke. Trust me: That one sucks . April Fools Day – Holidays – prank – Funny or Die – Google

Seattle, 3:15pm PDT. The entire ride up, everyone’s been ranting about Yeti. If that’s another name for Bigfoot, cool. I

Bigfoot Hunt Update: Hollywood Wants The Movie Rights!

As you are no doubt aware, we have given up writing about video games to pursue Bigfoot. We knew our expedition would get a lot of attention when we found Bigfoot, but we had no idea that the hunt itself would get so much positve press. Our iPhones have been ringing off the hook since we crossed the state line into Washington, and it’s not just collection agencies, either. We’re getting serious offers from important Hollywood film companies who want to purchase the movie rights to our exciting adventures and make them into a big budget action movie starring Paul Giamatti and Sandra Bullock. This is our ticket to the big time. Our new glamorous life is fun and all, but I have to wonder if it fame is really all its cracked up to be. Jake Gaskill and I are no longer speaking — he doesn’t care about artistic integrity and I don’t need friends like that.

Talkabouts: Games For Yeti

As we drive closer to our Quarry, the elusive North American Bigfoot, TheFeed has been re-thinking our original strategy of annihilation. Instead, we see the discovery of the Yeti as an opportunity to create a new gaming demographic. With that in mind, please enjoy our Talkabout: Games for Yeti.
