Cam’ron Ready To Make A ‘Classic’ Mixtape With DJ Holiday

‘I could do a mixtape in three hours,’ Cam tells the DJ, in Mixtape Daily. By Steven Roberts DJ Holiday Photo: Aphiliates The O.D.: A Mixtape Daily Exclusive Cam’ron has been a busy man lately. Besides reconciling with Jim Jones and announcing the possible reunion of the Diplomats, he made a surprise appearance at Converse’s Band of Ballers tournament as both “assistant coach” and basketball player, helping the Jones Family squad secure their second consecutive title. Cam’s also preparing for the third release in his and DJ Drama’s mixtape series, Boss of all Bosses 2.5. MTV News caught up with Cam over the weekend at the Atlanta tourney, where we also spoke to DJ Holiday, and it seems everybody wants a piece of KFC. “Me and Cam need to do something … a Holiday Season or something. I know you know the brand,” the DJ said, referring to his popular mixtape series. “I could do a mixtape in three hours,” Cam challenged. “Let’s stop talking and do it.” “I can block out about four hours, and we knock out a Holiday Season and make a classic,” Holiday said. “I know you make mixtapes with everybody, but when you do one with the kid, it’s a little different experience.” The “killa season”-meets-“holiday season” collaboration was a no-brainer, said Cam, ready to cement plans. But first, Holiday said, he had some other projects in the works, including the upcoming release of Waka Flocka Flame’s latest mixtape, tentatively titled Flockaveli, which he described as crazy fighting music. And with Gucci Mane’s release from jail a little more than a week away, Holiday said he and Gucc would be preparing a follow-up mixtape: Writing’s on the Wall 2: The Appeal. “I just dropped that [Gucci Mane mixtape] Burrprint HD. It’s in stores right now. We did 20,000 first week; #1 on iTunes. At the end of the day, we finnin’ to make a movie,” Holiday said. Gucci “gets home in probably about 10 days, so you already know we taking over, 10 days. Writing’s on the Wall 2: The Appeal coming soon. I’m trying to win, man.” Should Cam collaborate with DJ Holiday or stay focused on a possible Diplomats album? Let us know in the comments! Ke$ha On ‘Saturday Night Live’ Backlash: ‘I Don’t Care’

‘I had a fun time. I played laser beams,’ she says of her divisive performance. By James Montgomery Ke$ha on “Saturday Night Live” Photo: NBC EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey — Ke$ha’s recent performance on “Saturday Night Live” was divisive, to put it mildly. Some saw her two-song set — which featured laser beams, body paint, spoken-word interludes, dancing astronauts, fireworks and an American-flag cape — as an attempt at “artistic expression” gone awry, while others praised her efforts, calling the performance “spirited” and writing pieces in her “defen$e.” Either way, it didn’t really matter to Ke$ha. As she told MTV News on Saturday at the Bamboozle festival, she’s not listening to anything anyone has to say about her these days. “If you don’t like dancing astronauts, laser beams that play music, me talking about aliens, glow-in the dark things, vocoders and a hot chick, I don’t know what to tell you,” she laughed. “My new theory is … I don’t really listen or look at anything. But I have heard through the grapevine that some people thought it sucked and some people thought it was great. [I] don’t care. I had a fun time. I played laser beams.” She did, indeed. If anything, Ke$ha didn’t think the backlash from her “SNL” appearance had anything to do with, you know, her actual performances as it did with the fact that she refuses to be categorized. In an increasingly segmented industry, she proudly — almost defiantly — sticks out like a sore thumb. A sore thumb with laser beams, of course. “I don’t use Auto-Tune. I come from a country-music-writing family, a punk-rock loving brother who gave me his records, and in a society where everything is supposed to be perfect — down to what I wear, what I look like, my body, my voice, my outfits — I’m not perfect, and I embrace it,” she said. “And I think that’s what a lot of people are finding not being up to par to, like, the standard that other people have set, but I’m just being real. And I think what I’m doing is good.” What did you think of Ke$ha’s “SNL” performance? Let us know in the comments! Related Videos MTV News Extended Play: Ke$ha Related Artists Ke$ha

‘American Idol’ Fans Split On Siobhan Magnus Elimination

Some say it was Siobhan’s time to go, others are outraged. By MTV News Staff Siobhan Magnus Photo: FOX Randy Jackson loved her “punk-country” look and Kara DioGuardi declared, “Guess who’s back? Siobhan!” But this week, “American Idol” voters seemed to side with Simon Cowell when he said of Siobhan Magnus’ performance, “I think the screaming at the end may have gone a little bit — it was almost like you were giving birth up there.” And so the 20-year-old Cape Cod resident is the latest “Idol” hopeful to get the boot — to the surprise of “Idol” experts MTV News spoke with on Thursday (April 29). As expected, fans are split on the decision, with some arguing it was Siobhan’s time to go and others declaring the elimination to be a disgrace. “Siobhan was the most interesting and entertaining of the singers, and man, can she sing!” wrote MTV News reader Violet. “If you have a good ear and any experience singing, you would hear that she hits every high note dead on. That’s not a screech. She has an incredibly wide range and just maybe needed some more positive comments from the judges?” Not so, contends reader Eric. “Siobhan has a wee bit too much ‘screech’ in her voice,” he wrote. “She needs more experience. But ultimately she’ll [get] there if she doesn’t lose interest.” According to reader Peggy Sue, Siobhan’s problem was simply a matter of failing to pick the songs that fit her vocal strengths. “Siobhan was signing from her throat, not the right place, so when she sang softly with lower notes it sounded weird,” she wrote. “That’s why she sounded so good on ‘Think’ — it forced her to get out of her throat. I agree that she sounded stupendous on those kinds of songs, she should have stuck to them. But instead she sang a lot of slower ballads that sounded unpleasant.” While there’s no agreement about the justice of Siobhan’s ouster, there are a range of opinions about the contestant who really deserves to go home. Some feel Lee Dewyze has been over-praised by the judges, while a few have tapped Casey James as the most deserving bootee. “I do not understand what Americans see in Casey James,” writes Luckybarbe. “Just listen to his voice, OMG it’s not that good, it’s sort of annoying. I think women are looking at his looks more than listening to the way he sounds.” Do you think it was Siobhan’s time to leave ‘American Idol’? Let us know in the comments below! Sources: Elin Nordegren Woods to Divorce Tiger

Tiger Woods and fed-up wife Elin Nordegren Woods appear headed to divorce court as attempts to heal their shattered union apparently came up short. Elin has already met with a divorce lawyer , according to reports, and the final straw in their disintegrating marriage may have been his return to golf. Or the creepy Tiger Woods Nike ad that accompanied it. The New York Daily News, People , and his hometown Orlando Sentinel confirm the divorce lawyer meeting, and ET says the marriage is “indeed over.” Numerous reports say Elin Nordegren was irate over the Nike ad that aired during last week’s Masters featuring the voice of Woods’ late father, Earl. Already concerned that he was insincere in his efforts to change his ways and put family first, the ad spot is said to have pushed her over the edge . Will Tiger Woods’ next drive be to divorce court? According to ET , Woods believed his trip to rehab stint for sex addiction would be enough to keep his family together. Only temporarily, it seems . If that. Elin is reportedly fixing up the $2 million house she purchased in her native country, fueling rumors that she is moving to Sweden for good this summer. There is speculation that she will choose to live there with her kids after a split with Woods … and it would be hard to blame her if that were the case. It is imperative to note that nothing has been confirmed by either Tiger or Elin Woods as of now. There is certainly more to this than we possibly know. However, you have to figure things aren’t going well. All Tiger offered last week was that he was excited to be back … nary a word about his spouse. Even worse? The fact that relations were noticeably better between the two as recently as early March, then cooled. Now they’re on vacation… separately. What do you think: Elin Woods needs to

Adam Lambert Returns To ‘American Idol’ Stage With ‘Whataya Want From Me’

‘I brought lasers!’ the season-eight runner-up jokes at the end of his dramatic performance. By Larry Carroll Adam Lambert performs on “American Idol” Wednesday Photo: Fox There’s an old saying that you can’t go home again. On Wednesday night (April 14), however, Adam Lambert did exactly that — and left a worldwide audience welcoming him back with open arms. “Adam is the King!” read a sign held in the air by an “American Idol” audience member, moments before the season-eight runner-up took the stage in the newest role of his career: music icon. Appearing as a mentor on Tuesday’s episode , Lambert reminded the “AI” folks why he’s a fan favorite. “There’s someone on the stage they’re excited about,” Ryan Seacrest beamed as he introduced Lambert, who then took over the show. Performing his single “Whataya Want From Me,” Lambert was bathed in green light and smoke, like something out of an early ’80s new-wave video. It was an appropriate setting, since the song feels like a hit from the heyday of Depeche Mode and New Order. “Yeah, it’s plain to see/ That baby you’re beautiful and it’s nothing wrong with you,” Lambert sang onstage. “It’s me, I’m a freak/ But thanks for lovin’ me, ’cause you’re doing it perfectly.” Wearing a suit, skinny tie and his signature guy-liner, Lambert gave an emotional performance. When he hit the high note at the end of the song, it nearly seemed like he was on the verge of tears. “Now that’s a performance,” Seacrest marveled as he stepped onstage after the final note. “Wow!” “I brought lasers!” the playful Lambert remarked about his retro stage lighting. “I wanted to do something a little different.” With the crowd still buzzing about his show-stopping performance, Lambert went on to say that “Idol” is the perfect training ground for a musical career. “We worked so hard on this show to give everybody a surprise every week,” he explained. “Thanks to ‘American Idol,’ because it prepared me to make it in the real world. I owe ‘American Idol’ everything.” What did you think of Adam’s performance? How do you think he did as a mentor? Let us know in the comments below!
