The Voice Recap: Did Adam Levine Make a Mistake?

Two of Adam Levine’s acts were in the bottom three on Monday night’s episode of The Voice, and it injected a nice dose of drama into things.  Reagan Strange and DeAndre Nico shared some time in the bottom three with Blake Sheldon’s Dave Fenley.  Things took an explosive turn when it was revealed that Reagan Strange was unwell and would not be able to sing for the Instant Save.  Viewers were still able to vote for her meaning that she could be sent home if she did not garner enough votes. Yes, it was a bizarre twist in the tale, but that was not the end of it.  Adam then went on to use every single moment he could to plug Reagan and get viewers to vote for her. He even went as far as doing so right after DeAndre’s performance.  “There is an unbelievably talented little girl right now who is not able to fight for her position on this show,” Adam said. “The thought of breaking her heart by not urging everyone to give this girl a shot to go and redeem herself next week would be too far beneath me.” In any case, Dave and DeAndre got to perform one last time while Reagan spent the results show backstage.  Dave went with “Amazed,” and you could tell he was rattled by being in the bottom three. As much as he tried to sing, he was nervous, and his performance was a pitchy mess.  DeAndre’s rendition of “All of Me” was not much better. He’s been in the bottom several times, and given that Adam was legit plugging Reagan at every turn, there was really no hope for him.  In the end, Deandre and Dave were eliminated, meaning Reagan got to sing another day … despite not performing in the results show.  Yikes.  Kirk Jay (Team Blake), Kennedy Holmes (Team Jennifer), MaKenzie Thomas (Team Jennifer), Chevel Shepherd (Team Kelly), Sarah Grace (Team Kelly), Chris Kroeze (Team Blake and  Kymberli Joye (Team Kelly) were all sent to safety earlier in the episode.  Adam’s actions will likely stir up a lot of angst from fans, but is this the beginning of the end for Reagan? Kim Porter’s Son Pens Heartfelt Tribute to Late Model

It’s been just over two weeks since Kim Porter was found dead and just about a week since she was laid to rest. And now, for the first time, the late model’s oldest son has spoken out about the tragedy. Posting the above photo of himself and his mom, 27-year old Quincy Brown penned the following caption/tribute to Porter on Sunday night: You showed me how to simply live life and be happy no matter the circumstances. So that’s exactly what I’m doing. I miss you [and] love you so much, mommy. Pretty simple. Pretty straightfoward. Pretty powerful. Porter was discoverd inside her Los Angeles home back on November 15. We’re still awaiting the results of an autospy test to determine her cause of death, but multiple sources have confirmed that she was coming off a bout of pneumonia and was feeling ill the day before she died. Still, of course, many questions about what transpired remain. Porter was the mother of four kids, three of them with rapper and producing mogul Diddy. She and the global superstar were together at various points for 13 years, splitting for good in 2007, but remaining very close in the subsequent years as they transitioned to friends and parents. “For the last three days, I’ve been trying to wake up out of this nightmare. But I haven’t. I don’t know what I’m going to do without you baby. I miss you so much,” Diddy wrote on social media in his first post since Kim passed away. He added at the time: “Today I’m going to pay tribute to you, I’m going to try and find the words to explain our unexplainable relationship. We were more than best friends, we were more than soulmates. “WE WERE SOME OTHER S–T!! And I miss you so much. Super Black Love.” Several days after writing these moving words, Diddy spoken many others out loud while eulogizing Porter at her funeral in Georgia . First, he talked about his three kids with Porter and Quincy, who he cared for like a father after Porter welcomed him due to a relationship with artist Al B. Sure. “I just want to say to my kids, Justin, Christian, D’Lila, Jessie, Chance and the other man in the house, Quincy: Your mother instilled in me this, and I pledge in front of everybody right now that I will always be there for you. “I will always take care of you.” Diddy also addressed Porter directly in his emotional speech, according to a number of onlookers. “Kim, we gonna miss you so much,” he said, adding: “But I ain’t gonna miss you too much because I’m not gonna let your voice inside of me stop talking. “I know you like to talk to me a lot once you get on those rants, and I just want you to know I’m gonna be listening.” Diddy went on to recognize the unusual connection he shared with Porter, concluding as follows: “As time went on, our relationship took so many different changes, from being boyfriend and girlfriend to being lovers to being best friends to being just straight-up homies, like somebody that you know you can count on. “And we just love y’all, we appreciate y’all, appreciate the family. To all the words that I’m forgetting, to anything I’m forgetting to say, we love you, Kim. “Thank you.” May Kim Porter rest in peace. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2018: In Memoriam

ENERGY: Desiigner Warns Charlamagne & DJ Envy Not To Play With Him After They Mocked The Rapper

Source: David Becker / Getty Desiigner Is Sending A Message to Charlamagne and DJ Envy Desiigner  is not happy with Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy after the two  Breakfast Club  hosts mocked his voice. In a video shared to his Instagram Story on Friday, Desiigner responded to the opening moments of a clip from the  Breakfast Club  in which the two hosts traded impressions of Desiigner’s voice. Angela Yee repeatedly told her co-hosts that they were being rude, but that definitely didn’t stop them from getting their jokes off. The clip has since been removed from Youtube. “I’m cool, I was laughing on the phone, but I’m a grown-ass man, bro,” Desiigner explained on Friday. “You and Envy, I would slap the shit outta y’all. Deadass. I’m a grown man, I work, I do this hard by myself. Don’t play with me.” Following that message, Desiigner later mentioned their families and urged them to go straight to work when in New York. “I’m doing something good for change,” the rapper continued. “I’m changing the world. I’m doing this shit…I will beat the shit out both of y’all…Don’t play yourself. Go to work. Go to Power 105. Go to work, bro. You got kids that go to school, n***a.” Luckily for Angela Yee, Desiigner said “it’s love” toward her. Check out what he had to say about the situation below: The subject of the since-deleted  Breakfast Club  segment was the Change 4 Change Radiothon, which will this year be raising funds for the youth mental health-centered  Project 375 non-profit. Hopefully we get to hear the Breakfast Club hosts talk about this exchange on the show tomorrow.

Bella Thorne Nipple Pop for OUT Magazine Cause She’s a Queer of the Day

You can’t really see Bella Thorne’s nipple in her Queer photo for a homosexual propaganda magazine called OUT….but that’s because Bella Thorne is a ginger and has invisible nipples that don’t show up on her pasty white skin….especially after her tits have been filled with implants stretching out that ginger skin…making me happy this isn’t her vagina…because as much as she whores herself out and as much as she whores her fake tits out because they aren’t actually part of her, just an accessory like a new car, or a new face thanks to lip injections…she keeps her pussy in her pants…at least in terms of content for social media in her clickbaiting and I can only assume it is because she has the pussy curse of the readhead pussy where the pussy lips are a bit too fucking pink for the skin color and the contrast of the two disgusting… I just know that if we haven’t seen her pussy yet, and we haven’t she’s not all that racy..just a trained Disney kid talking to a market in their voice to sell product…which is probably why she fucks chicks too..it’s trendy… Point being…there is no point to any of this nonsense. Journalist Kimberly Holmes Wiggins Turns Her Pain Into Power After Losing Her Husband

W hen Kimberly Holmes Wiggins met her husband Rasheed at Duke University years ago, she knew she had found her soulmate. She was drawn to his sensitive, caring, and unique soul. After the two attended a wedding where her sorority sister and his fraternity brother joined together in matrimony, Kimberly and Rasheed embarked on their own love journey and began dating. While maintaining a long-distance relationship while Kimberly furthered her journalism career in Washington, D.C. and Rasheed lived in North Carolina, the two established an unbreakable bond and tied the knot in 2011. Sadly, things took a tragic turn for the couple on a Spring evening in 2016. While returning from a quick store run, Rasheed lost his life after being struck by three cars at the intersection of Universal Boulevard and Destination Parkway, not too far from the couple’s Florida apartment. The first two drivers left the scene and are still at large. The third driver—who was driving a taxi—was the only one who stopped to help Wiggins. Kimberly became concerned when she couldn’t reach Rasheed and went out with their dog to go search for him only to come across a crime scene where her husband lay in the middle of the road. In just a short period of time, she found herself in the midst of a homicide investigation on an evening that was supposed to be a movie night for her and her husband. Her life was forever changed. “Every time we would leave each other we would kiss and hug goodbye but that night we didn’t because he was supposed to come right back. When you lose someone, who plays a significant role in your life it’s hard,” Kimberly told NewsOne as she recounted what happened that night. “The real pain sets in weeks, months, and years after that. Grief never goes away, and you just learn how to live with it. One thing that is really difficult when losing a spouse is that you lose the person who treated you special.” Mourning the loss of the love of her life has been an uphill battle for Kimberly, but she has decided to turn her pain into power and has led several efforts to create positive transformation in her life as well as the lives of others. In 2017, she launched the Rasheed A. Wiggins Entrepreneurial Prize at her and her husband’s alma mater Duke University. Rasheed who was a seasoned marketing professional was the co-founder of a digital advertising agency called AdRelief. Inspired by Rasheed’s entrepreneurial spirit, Kimberly and others who were close to Rasheed believed that the scholarship fund would keep his legacy alive by giving budding business owners the funds to launch their own ventures. The 2017 winner was a company called Flower Child Remedies which is a Black-owned natural hair product line. The winner of the 2018 prize has yet to be announced. Kimberly has also stepped into the realm of policy change and is fighting for a bill to be passed in Florida related to hit-and-runs. According to a study released by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, Florida is one of the top three states with the highest rates of fatal hit-and-run crashes. Under the bill, there would be an amber alert system put in place for hit-and-runs where people would be alerted about cars that left the scene. She also has launched a grief outreach organization called Still His where she provides support and sends gift boxes to widows across the country in an effort to help them heal. She also hosts several support brunches and dinners in the DMV area to cultivate a community of women who are struggling with the loss of their spouses and penned a book about how to cope with grief and support those who are grieving. Kimberly’s latest project is a 5K run in honor of Rasheed that is slated to take place on March 23; a day before what would have been his 42nd birthday. She’s thankful that she can use her platform to help those in need, especially women of color who lack resources when it comes to seeking help after experiencing loss. “It’s hard to come from a community that tells you to keep things bottled up. But we must confront our emotions to heal. I’m appreciative of being able to use my voice,” she said. “This was one of the most eye-opening experiences for me. When getting involved with these initiatives it was about putting one foot in front of the other and moving forward. I feel incredibly blessed because I was surrounded by so much love.” SEE ALSO: Rihanna And Colin Kaepernick To Reportedly Team Up For Social Justice Project Marshawn Lynch Launches Initiative To Provide The Homeless With Smartphones [ione_media_gallery src=”https://newsone.com” id=”3832050″ overlay=”true”]

But the racists believe he’s a racist.” As my grandmother used to say — a hit dog will holler. pic.twitter.com/kC34Ldd0is — Andrew Gillum (@AndrewGillum) October 25, 2018   Political divisiveness The candidates were asked whether the divisiveness in the nation’s political discourse has pushed some people to the edge, prompting actions like sending pipe bombs in the mail to high-profile Democrats. Gillum argued that DeSantis is part of the problem. He pointed to comments DeSantis made on Fox News in which he warned Floridians not to “monkey this up” by voting for his Black opponent. Soon after DeSantis blew that racist dog whistle, neo-Nazis began sending out robocalls that included jungle music and monkey calls in the background. “My opponent has run this race very close to the Trump handbook where we call each other names.”   Teacher salaries Gillum noted that teachers’ salaries in Florida are ranked the 45th lowest of the 50 states. “If my grandmother was here, she wouldn’t just say that’s a shame, she would say that’s a crying shame.”   Gillum called out DeSantis for telling lies about his policy positions “In the last debate, Mr. DeSantis lied 21 times. Now, today makes the 22nd, and we’ve just started this debate.”   “Mr. DeSantis in the last debate lied 21 times. 21 times. And now today makes the 22nd and we just started this debate.” – @AndrewGillum #FLGovDebate pic.twitter.com/L6r7zXdpDE — Brynna Quillin (@brynnaquillin) October 24, 2018 Medicaid expansion and healthcare policy DeSantis tried desperately to defend his multiple votes in Congress to end Obamacare without having a suitable replacement. Gillum explained to the former congressman that healthcare is a top issue for Floridians. He recalled his childhood experiences. “I remember having to wait for the free dental clinic to come through my neighborhood to have my teeth cleaned.”   DeSantis questioned the moderator’s data from the bipartisan Congressional Budget Office’s report that rejected the healthcare plan that the former congressman and his GOP colleagues promoted. Gillum delivered this zinger. “Mr. DeSantis could have a monopoly on his opinion, but he doesn’t have a monopoly on facts. Facts matter.”   Corruption scandal One of the big questions before the debate rematch was how Gillum would respond to an onslaught from DeSantis over an FBI probe into possible Tallahassee government corruption, in which the mayor was reportedly not the target of the investigation. On Tuesday, text messages were made public about the source of tickets Gillum received to the Broadway musical “Hamilton” that appear to contradict his statements at the first debate on the issue. “In the state of Florida we have 99 issues, and Hamilton ain’t one of them.”   The Republican taxes overhaul Gillum called the GOP tax overhaul that boosted the bottom line for corporations a failure for working class families. The Republicans promised that there would be a “magical trickle down” to poor people. Instead of a pay raise to working class families, the tax overhaul gave the nation something else. “They have drilled a deep hole into the national debt and working people haven’t seen any appreciable rise in their wages.”   . @AndrewGillum delivered a powerful rejection of Trump's hateful politics of division at last night's debate for Florida governor. We're with Gillum! pic.twitter.com/FuO5cOLsFV — MoveOn (@MoveOn) October 22, 2018 Families continue to struggle financially While the Trump administration and Republicans tout falling unemployment rates, wages have not increased. “Forty-four percent of people in the state of Florida say they can’t make ends meet at the end of the month. Mr. DeSantis’ big donors may be doing just fine. They’ve got their yachts and boats. For the rest of the working people in this state, they simply want a wage they could live on.”   Immigration “We’re not going to criminalize people of their personhood simply because you’re a brown-skinned person or that you speak a language that may be of a foreign tongue to Mr. DeSantis or you live in a neighborhood that may include more brown people. That doesn’t, in and of itself, subject you to racial profiling. That’s the essence of what he would be promoting.”   SEE ALSO: Ron DeSantis’ Racist History Didn’t Just Begin With His ‘Monkey’ Attack On Andrew Gillum Megyn Kelly Hypocritical On Abuse Of Women [ione_media_gallery src=”https://newsone.com” id=”3833255″ overlay=”true”]

5 Takeaways From Andrew Gillum’s Florida Debate Rematch Against Ron DeSantis

Read this article:

T allahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum ’s masterful debate performance on Sunday was no fluke. Gillum continued to dominate his GOP rival for Florida governor Ron DeSantis in their second debate Wednesday night at Broward College in Davie, Florida. SEE ALSO: Andrew Gillum Called For An End To Black Voter Apathy, And Got It One of the big questions before the rematch was how Gillum would respond to an onslaught from DeSantis over an FBI probe into possible Tallahassee government corruption, in which the mayor is reportedly not the target of the investigation. On Tuesday, text messages were made public about the source of tickets Gillum received to the Broadway musical Hamilton that appears to contradict his statements at the first debate on the issue. Here are five things we’ve learned about Gillum and DeSantis as they stood under the spotlight on the debate stage for the second time.   1. Gillum can handle the pressure The Tallahassee mayor was clearly prepared to address the pink elephant in the room. DeSantis raised the FBI investigation issue about 40 minutes into the debate, prompted by Gillum accusing him of lying in TV attack ads. Gillum turned the tables by demanding that DeSantis release records of his $145,000 in taxpayer-funded travel as a Congressman. DeSantis resigned his congressional post to focus on this gubernatorial campaign. The former lawmaker has declined to reveal how he paid for several trips, including travel to New York City to appear on Fox News to increase his public profile for his Florida governor campaign. Ron DeSantis spent $145,000 in tax-payer money to travel to New York for Fox News interviews. #RonDeLiar https://t.co/31zAtr8tQt — Florida Democrats (@FlaDems) October 24, 2018 2. Gillum knows how to connect DeSantis always looked uncomfortable on stage and defensive when discussing his record. By contrast, Gillum was masterful at weaving his compelling personal story into responses—touching on key themes that most people can relate to. The mayor talked about the sacrifices of his working-class parents who were determined to make sure he received a proper education. Gillum also frequently dropped in pearls of wisdom that he learned from his grandmother. As my grandmother used to say, a hit dog will holler. And boy oh boy, @RonDeSantisFL … #FLGovDebate — Andrew Gillum (@AndrewGillum) October 24, 2018 3. DeSantis doesn’t have an answer on healthcare Healthcare is one of the policy issues that’s important to Floridians. It was clear that DeSantis has no answers to their concerns. Gillum pointed out that his opponent was one of Trump’s strongest supporters in the failed Republican attempt to repeal Obamacare without a viable replacement. I believe healthcare is a right. @RonDeSantisFL doesn’t. Facts matter. pic.twitter.com/NbXlTBJZlt — Andrew Gillum (@AndrewGillum) October 24, 2018 4. Yeah, DeSantis is racist The moderator indirectly asked DeSantis if he’s a racist. He pointed to the former congressman warning Florida voters not to “ monkey this up ” by voting for Gillum, who would become the state’s first African-American governor. He also highlighted some of DeSantis’ long history  of associating with white nationalists. DeSantis unconvincingly denied that he’s a racist, raising his voice as if that would convince viewers. The mayor had a golden response. “I’m not calling him a racist,” Gillum said. “But the racists believe he’s a racist.” FL Governors Debate just got *intense*: @AndrewGillum says of his GOP opponent @RonDeSantisFL “I'm not calling him a racist. I'm just saying the racists believe he's a racist.” — Alex Wagner (@alexwagner) October 24, 2018 5. Gillum unabashedly progressive Gillum showed that he was unwilling to yield on key issues that are important to his base when DeSantis pressed him. He stood firm on increasing the minimum wage and taxing the state’s wealthiest companies to increase teacher salaries and to pay for early childhood education, even though DeSantis tried to create fear that those fiscal policies would drive companies out Florida.
