‘X Factor’ Judges Leave Stacy Francis ‘Very Confused’

‘For [Simon Cowell] to just beat me up like that, I don’t understand,’ singer tells MTV News after Wednesday night’s episode. By Gil Kaufman, with reporting by Jim Cantiello Stacy Francis performs on “The X Factor” Photo: FOX It seems that every reality-show singing competition has to have one polarizing contestant who makes headlines every week for something. “X Factor” appears to have found its lightning rod in former professional singer Stacy Francis, who ripped it up with judge Simon Cowell on Wednesday night’s rock-themed performance episode. The 42-year-old Brooklyn native and single mother, who is being coached by Nicole Scherzinger, was lambasted by Cowell for her sleepy rendition of Meat Loaf’s “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now,” which he said was “the sort of thing I would expect someone to sing at the Hilton Hotel with people turning their backs, eating peanuts.” MTV News spoke to Francis backstage after the show, and she admitted that Cowell’s slings and arrows bewildered her. “I just want a fair judgment, and I don’t feel like it was fair,” she said. “I feel like because I’m not in Simon’s category, he beats me up every week. I don’t know if I can really take on what he says as an artist and really say, ‘OK, how can I make this better?’ ” On a show where the judges usually save their harshest fire for each other, Cowell went all in on Francis, saying, “I thought the song was a horrible choice. I like rocks; that was a pebble.” Indeed, Francis, standing at a feather-covered mic stand while wearing leather gloves and a sparkly silver dress, emoted her way through the lesser-known Loaf tune while accompanied by a grand piano, mirror-ball effects on the giant onstage videos, lots of ground fog and a wind machine. She took issue with Cowell’s criticism that the song was too cabaret, noting that the audience seemed to love it. “For him to just beat me up like that, I don’t understand; I don’t get it,” she said. “I sang a Meat Loaf song, which is a rock song, and he said he didn’t love it. Melanie Amaro sang an R.E.M. song, and he loved it. It was the same tempo … I don’t know, I was very confused about it.” Francis said it seems to her that the other females in the competition have an advantage because they are in Cowell’s category and he doesn’t give them as much grief. “My first audition, he told me he loved me and he loved my voice and he loved everything,” she said. “All of a sudden, I’m the worst thing in the competition. I don’t understand it. That’s very confusing, and I think it’s very unfair.” As for judge Paula Abdul’s comments about some of Francis’ vocals being flat, the onetime member of the group Ex-Girlfriend said, if anything, her vocals sometimes go sharp because she pushes too hard, but rarely flat. “I don’t think that I ever go flat, so that’s weird,” she said. “To me, [Abdul] has one group in the competition that’s left so she would love to see any other contestant [leave] except her only one. I don’t know if I’m getting a fair evaluation as an artist or if it’s just the bickering amongst the judges because they wanna win.” Share your review of Stacy Francis’ performance in the comments below! How Do I Live (Without You) (Justin Bieber Video) with lyrics

A Video I Made for Justin Bieber using the song “How Do I Live (Without You)” by Carmen Rasmusen. Lyrics: How do I get thru one night without you, If I had to live without you, What kind of life would that be. Oh and I, I need you in my arms Need you to hold, You’re my world, my heart, my soul. If you ever leave Baby, you would take away Everything good in my life. Without you there’d be no sun in my sky. There would be no love in my life. There’d be no world left for me And I, baby I don’t know what I would do. I’d be lost if I lost you If you ever leave Baby, you would take away Everything real in my life And tell me now…… How do I live without you? I want to know. How do I breathe without you? If you ever go How do I ever, ever survive? How do I, how do I Oh, how do I live? If you ever leave. Baby you would take away everything Need you with me Baby, ’cause you know that you’re Everything good in my life And tell me now How do I live without you? I want to know How do I breathe without you? If you ever go. How do I ever, ever survive? Sorry Fellas: After The Nightmare, C-Milli Isn’t Checking For Any Of Y’all

You gotta love it when pretty girls with low self-esteem find perspective after a dude who should have never had her fawks her head up… Despite having a new gig on NBC’s “The Voice,” poor Christina Milian’s divorce situation continues to be the most interesting thing she’s got popping. And in a recent interview with Hello Beautiful, she says that after everything that’s happened, she and Teddy Ruxpin are having absolutely no problem co-parenting. We have a mutual friendship and we communicate very well with each other. We both have very busy schedules but it’s working out very well. With all the drama, I just wanted us to be cool because at the end of the day all that matters is our daughter. It’s worked out well now since all the media is out of our business. I mean, we’re going to be in each other’s lives forever because of our daughter, by choice, because he doesn’t HAVE to be present, but he chooses to be. We have a great speaking relationship, and I’m grateful for that. Oh, what a great child support/alimony settlement can do for life. But the fact that she and Terius are friends now does not mean C-Milli is back on the market. I’m enjoying being on my own and have been that way for about a year and some change. I’m pretty much not open to dating. I think I’m just spending time on me. I’ve been from relationship to relationship my whole life. I think the most time I’ve spent in between a relationship was like two months and then I was right back to like a three-year relationship. I have all the love I need right here from my daughter and I’m very protective over her because now when I do decide to date it will not only affect me but my daughter as well. I’m just not interested right now. It’s going to take some time. I’m not bitter I’m just enjoying my me time. Yeah right! If it were actually possible for this girl to put out an album right now, we’re sure it would be rife with all types of “n-words ain’t isht” anthems. Adele’s ‘Live At Royal Albert Hall’: No Flash, Plenty Of Substance

Adele’s live concert film — due November 29 — is a straightforward affair, which is quite perfect, actually. By James Montgomery Adele Photo: Jon Furniss/ WireImage There is something to be said about a film that delivers exactly what it promises. And Adele’s brand-new “Live at the Royal Albert Hall” concert flick does exactly that. There are no backstage vignettes, biographic set pieces or interviews with breathless fans. Instead, as the title implies, there is just Adele, live at the Royal Albert Hall (or, as she puts it, “Royal Albert F—ing Hall”). Of course, there’s nothing wrong with that. Because rather than fill 90-odd minutes with artfully acute black-and-white montages or various bits of fly-on-the-wall ephemera, director Paul Dugdale makes the very wise decision to feature nothing more than Adele’s bright, brilliant face, her contagious cackle, her rather impressive grasp of profanity and, of course, that voice. It’s the catalyst behind her massive 21 album (10 million sold worldwide!) and the entire Adele sensation, really. And for those fans yet to see her live, thanks to ongoing vocal issues , that’s really all they could ask for. Because “Live,” which hits stores November 29, presents Adele at the height of her powers (and humors), onstage for an emotional homecoming show at one of the planet’s truly iconic venues (“I’ve seen the Spice Girls here and Enrique Iglesias here!” she gushes). Filmed less than two months ago — which may explain the lack of bells and whistles — it is a simple, straightforward, almost Spartan concert film, the kind of thing you’d watch on PBS (and not in movie theaters worldwide, which fans will get the chance to do ). While that may sound like a criticism, it strangely works in this context, mostly because it lets Adele shine. She sings the hell out of songs like “Hometown Glory,” “I’ll Be Waiting,” “Turning Tables” and “Chasing Pavements,” breaks down in tears following a truly epic “Someone Like You,” and vamps through “Rumor Has It.” She goes huge on “Set Fire to the Rain,” belts out Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me,” lilts through a fizzy cover of the Steeldrivers’ “If It Hadn’t Been for Love” and, in a truly powerful moment, dedicates her version of Dylan’s “Make You Feel My Love” to the late Amy Winehouse. Of course, there are also the lighter moments, like how she endlessly drinks warm honey out of a mug with a Dachshund printed on the front, expresses her sheer amazement at playing a venue the caliber of the Royal Albert Hall (“I’m sh–ting myself!” is how she puts it), dishes on former flames, professes her love for Dolly Parton, continuously waves to fans in the audience (even when she’s singing a crushing breakup tune) and laughs her way through a false start of “Take It All” (“That was a sh– note; let’s start it again”). And “Live At the Royal Albert Hall” presents it all. In a lot of ways, it comes about as close as any concert film to replicating the experience of attending a real concert. In the screening I attended Tuesday, I actually had to remind myself not to clap at the conclusion of a couple songs. I’m not making that up, either (though it would make a nice front-of-box quote). And in that regard, it is a tremendous success; you definitely get the full experience. Adele is luminous, compelling, funny and profane throughout, and like I said, her voice is in tiptop shape. So if you’re in the 90 percent of fans who own 21 but have yet to see her live, you’re definitely going to love it. If you were expecting high art, best to look elsewhere. Then again, it’s not like the title of the film didn’t give you ample warning. Have you seen Adele live? Let us know your thoughts in the comments! Related Artists Adele

Christina Milian Talks New Album, Dealing With Divorce & Moving On [EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW]

Read this article:

The beautiful and multi-talented, Christina Milian , has been a little under the radar lately after the news of her very public divorce from The Dream hit the media. Since then, Christina has been working hard on her new album and as the new social media correspondent on “The Voice”. With all these new projects that Ms. Milian is working on, we had to catch up with her to see just what has she been up to lately! Take a look at my exclusive interview with Christina where we chatted about her new album, dealing with her divorce in the public and moving on. How does she run in those heels? HelloBeautiful: How did you get the gig as the social media correspondent with “The Voice”? Christina Milian: I guess they were looking for someone to fill that role. They wanted someone that could relate to the celebrity coaches and the music industry. They wanted someone who could connect all the dots. Social media has had a huge affect on their fan base. With the following that I have and the fan base that I have, they felt it would be a good connection to have me come on board. They came to me and we had this great meeting and then I was there the next week! It happened that fast. It’s pretty exciting. Its fun. I have the coolest job. All I have to do is tweet and shoot interviews and be myself. I feel so blessed that I don’t have to go out of my way to do what I love. HB: What are you bringing to the table this season? Christina Milian: I like to help edit the videos and give fine tuning detail and bring the personality to it. It’s one thing to ask the basics but having been in this situation that the contestants are in, it’s easier to bring your own experience to the table. HB: What kind of advice would you give to anyone looking to follow in your footsteps whether it be singing or acting or anything that you’re doing in your career? Christina Milian: First off the biggest lesson is patience because it doesn’t happen overnight. The best thing to do is connect with a specific idol. I wanted to be like Janet Jackson and Madonna so I paid attention to their careers. Pay attention to their history and study the people you love and then study the people they studied. I think that’s the best advice. HB: Now, we have to get into the juicy stuff! How has it been living your life so publicly with the birth of your daughter and then your very public divorce? Christina Milian: You know, I’ve been doing it for so long that now, it comes with the territory. Certain things are crazy. There are things in my life that have been private and when it comes time to explain them, no one can believe it. When you live your life in front of a camera it’s not the easiest thing, but people are relying on you to help them get through the same thing. It’s actually motivating in a way. You have to accept it. People always think I call the paparazzi! I’m like “look, I live in LA they are EVERYWHERE!” I mean they pop out of bushes! So I’ve accepted it. It’s my life. It’s like having a spy on you 24/7 so it keeps you in check and in line from doing anything stupid. But I’m still human and I still make mistakes. I used to let it affect me but now I’m just like, nobody is living my life but me. At the end of the day, I have to live for me. I don’t mind. I’ve gained a lot of respect and support especially from women. They have helped be my backbone. HB: Speaking of that situation, how are things with you and Dream now? Do you still talk? Christina Milian: We have a mutual friendship and we communicate very well with each other. HB: Do you think there is any truth to the rumors that some of his new songs on his mix tape are about you? Christina Milian: (Laughing) You have to discuss that with him! I mean, he’s an amazing writer and I’ll give him credit for that. I do believe that he’s taking pieces from all his relationships and making them into songs. He’s very creative in his writing and he’s speaking for a lot of men. I think when Dream writes, he writes about everything and he’s also adding what the fans what to hear: the realness. I mean, I’m not the only one in this situation that has a Mercedes car and for second everybody was like “did you hear this?!” and I started thinking that people might think these songs were about me. I called him and talked to him about it, and he basically told me that at the end of the day we’re both creative people and we dated publicly so of course they’re going to point the finger at you but we both know that these things aren’t true. But since all eyes were on us during our relationship, it’s natural for people to look at me. HB: Are you dating anyone new? Christina Milian: I’m enjoying being on my own and have been that way for about a year and some change. HB: Okay, moving on from that and back to your music. Are there any artists that you would like to work with that you haven’t already work with before? Christina Milian: I would love to work with Chris brown, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West- we actually did a demo in the past that never came out, so I  would love to work with him again. And Rihanna, I would LOVE to work with her. HB: Are you working on any new projects that we should be aware of? Christina Milian: I am working on a new album. Its just a lot of business matters I’ve been trying to clean up. I took some time off after having the baby and trying to find my new sound so now I think I’m in a good place. I’m always traveling and meeting new people, so I’m definitely in a place of moving forward in my career rather than making music just to make it. Trust me, your girl is working hard! And now the questions we always ask… Whats in your bag? My iPad. I went to the dentist today so I have this sleeping guard retainer thing. My Crooks and Castle sunglasses, Mac 3d glass lip gloss and my little red Cannon camera If you were forced to get a tattoo what would it be of and why? I have a bunch of tattoos but if I was forced I would get the quote, “live the life” because it’s my motto. I love to live. You have to be free. I have freedom on my wrist so I think that I would put that quote on me somewhere. Whats your vice and where do u go to get it? Food and shoes! But shoes definitely. I have my share of Louboutins. You can go to the actual store and get the best ones and there’s another store out here that has some great choices. Whats one urge you get but never act on it? To be aggressive with a guy and be like, “hey this is this and this is that and peace out!” But I don’t have the guts to do that because they would know who I am and it would just be all bad! (laughing) When was the last time you cried? Recently in church. I cried and I actually became a member of the church that day. It was a great message and I feel really good in my life and I feel really proud of myself because of all I’ve been going through. I’ve been going to this church for about a year and I have faith and believe in God so the message really spoke to me. I was amazed. ‘Snow White And The Huntsman’ Trailer: 5 Key Scenes

Kristen Stewart is ‘fairest of them all’ and kicking serious butt in new sneak peek. By Kara Warner Kristen Stewart in “Snow White and The Huntsman” Photo: Universal With most of our Kristen Stewart focus zeroed in on a little movie called “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1,” which opens next week, she has an equally intriguing film coming down the pike this summer — “Snow White and the Huntsman” — the trailer for which was unveiled Thursday (November 10) by Apple . No matter what you might have been expecting, given Stewart’s comments about the film or production photos that were released, this trailer is a doozy and completely delivers on the intense, warrior-esque elements that have been teased. Here are our five favorite scenes: 1. Charlize Theron Kills It as the Evil Queen From the second you hear her eerily intense and foreboding voice, to the shots of her mindless murders, to the last shot of the trailer — in which she swoops her exquisite black cloak about her and it turns into a flock of crows — Theron delivers in every sense of the word. It’s going to be fun to watch her Queen and Stewart’s Snow White go toe-to-toe! 2. The Mirror on the Wall Most of us are familiar with the classic fairy tale upon which this film is based, and while the Mirror is indeed an important part of the story, it can come off a bit campy, depending on the visual effects used to design it. This mirror is just so cool/creepy! When summoned by the Queen via that famous phrase — “Mirror mirror, on wall, who’s the fairest of them all?” — the mirror seems to melt into a puddle of bronze liquid on the floor and then reshapes itself into a hooded, appropriately deep-voiced figure. 3. Stewart Looking Fierce and Kicking Butt We had a pretty good idea Stewart’s version of the “fairest of them all” would be different, based on the photo of her in fancy armor and holding a sword, and now, we have even more proof that Stewart’s Snow White is pretty badass. Never does she look innocent or weak, whether on the run, defending herself in armor or confronting a fearsome, growling beast. 4. Chris Hemsworth Is a Perfect Huntsman “Find me someone who doesn’t fear the dark forest to hunt her down,” the Queen commands, her voice heard over our first glimpse of Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman, wielding an ax and fighting in the forest, which is followed by several other shots of Hemsworth in action, getting down and dirty in battle. It’s a perfect deviation from that pretty-boy Asgardian prince Thor, if we do say so ourselves. 5. Brief Glimpses of the Supporting Players Even though the title of the film is “Snow White and the Huntsman,” there are plenty more players in the mix of this fractured fairy tale. Specifically our brief glimpses of Prince Charming, played by “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” star Sam Claflin, who we see both in battle and leaning down to kiss Snow White. Then there are the eight dwarves. Eight, not seven, according to what Stewart revealed to Jay Leno recently, whom we only see for extremely brief moments in the trailer, first walking together, single-file, on the top of a rolling hill, then following behind the Huntsman. Check out everything we’ve got on “Snow White and the Huntsman.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com .

Last night in New York, Nicki Minaj , The Throne , and Maroon 5, along with “The Voice” judge Adam Levine, hit the stage during the Victoria’s Secret fashion show to liven up the crowd. As usual, Nicki showed up in some epileptic seizure-inducing outfit complete with neon colors while making weird faces, Kanye wore his favorite pair of blood-pressure-cuff-tight leather pants, Adam Levine probably could have worn MORE clothes, and Hov kept it OG with his ubiquitous “all black everything” Flip the script to see the flicks.

Kelly Clarkson Recalls ‘American Idol’ Reservations

‘We were just like, ‘Oh, I don’t know if this is really what I want to do,’ because it’s a lot,’ Clarkson tells MTV News of the night she won ‘Idol.’ By Christina Garibaldi Kelly Clarkson Photo: MTV News It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost 10 years since Kelly Clarkson was crowned the first winner of “American Idol.” Since then, she has become one of the most successful “Idol” alums ever, releasing five albums (her latest, Stronger, landed the #2 spot on the Billboard albums chart ), winning two Grammy Awards and solidifying herself as a pop diva who belts out powerful breakup anthems . Yet, looking back on that night that America voted her the winner, Clarkson recalls her hesitation in becoming the pop star she always imagined herself to be. “Honestly, even the night I won, I remember Justin [Guarini] and I talking. We were just like, ‘Oh, I don’t know if this is really what I want to do,’ because it’s a lot,” Clarkson revealed to MTV News. “But I just really loved singing, and at the end of the day, it’s worth it.” Clarkson has made the most of her time since that night in 2002, but has this journey been exactly how she pictured it? “Actually, this is exactly what I thought it was gonna be like,” Clarkson said. “I never was that kid that was, like, smoke and mirrors. I knew it was going to be hard work, and I knew there’d be a lot of sacrifice.” Even with all her successes over the years, there have been some low points for Clarkson as well. Prior to the release of her third album, My December, it was publicly known she was at odds with her label over the album. But Clarkson said, if given the opportunity, she wouldn’t change anything about that time in her life or her career. “Not even the crappy stuff,” she said. “Because it all builds your character. It molds you, and you go through it for a reason. No, I wouldn’t change anything.” Now, in between her busy work schedule, the “Mr. Know It All” singer still finds time to watch the show that started it all, but she has yet to watch former “Idol” judge Simon Cowell’s new show, “X Factor.” “I watch all of them,” Clarkson said. “I haven’t seen [‘X Factor’] because I’ve been out of the country, but I watch ‘The Voice,’ I watch ‘American Idol’ — I watch all of it.” What do you think of Kelly Clarkson’s latest album?
