The film stars Jay Ellis alongside Deborah Ann Woll, Taylor Russell, Tyler Labine, Logan Miller and more. The movie is about a group of individuals who are chosen to participate in an extreme escape room for their chance to win a million dollars. However, there is a lethal twist to these rooms and they all find out that attempting to escape comes with a huge price. When we talked to Jay Ellis about “Escape Room” in October, we asked the star to choose three celebrities he’d take into an escape room with him. He chose: Idris Elba because he’s strong, chiseled and smart. These are all great things you’d want in someone you’re trusting your life with. John Legend is also very smart. They don’t call him the Legend for nothing. Niecy Nash will keep things fun and she’s very motivating. Motivation is key when trying to figure out puzzles and complete obstacles in an escape room. Niecy Nash is an amazing choice. When asked who he absolutely would not take on his Escape Room adventure, Jay Ellis says he’ll need to leave Neil Brown Jr. aka Chad from Insecure , at home. According to Jay, it’s much too risky. He and Neil are real live friends and they’d probably spend the entire time goofing off with each other to really get anything done. As an update to our Escape Room question, we got the chance to sit down with Jay Ellis and his co-star, Deborah Ann Woll to ask them which of the film’s characters they would have liked to participate in an escape room with. Deborah Ann Woll was the first to answer. She tells Global Grind, “I’d pick Mike (Tyler Labine). I mean, obviously you pick Zoe (Taylor Russell) because Zoe is going to get you out alive, but I think Mike’s character is good because he keeps the levity. When things feel like you’re all going to die, it’s nice to be able to have a laugh.” Jay Ellis also chose which character(s) he’d like to do an escape room with. His answer was a little different from Deborah Ann Woll’s but he had very good reasons. Oh, Florida Man. Were you just not loved as a child? In the latest example of a resident of the Sunshine State acting like he's several cards short of a full deck, Daniel Taylor was arrested on New Year's Eve for physically assaulting an employee at McDonald's. Not that anyone could really blame the guy. After all, are you aware that one now has to ask for a straw at ths fast food restaurant?!? This really is what set Taylor off, according to witnesses, at least one of whom filmed Taylor got ballistic at a McDonald's in St. Petersburg. Video of the incident, which we've featured on this page, shows Taylor SCREAMING at a young woman behind the counter because, onlookers confirm, he was furious after picking up his order — and not finding any straws in the condiments section. “He was very upset, he started berating her, swearing, saying 'There’s no law like that,'” said the woman who captured this crazy footage, adding of the employee; “She said, ‘Yes it is, we’re not allowed to put straws out.'” The best part of this entire confrontation, as you'll see in the footage, is how the McDonald's employee responds: With fists flying! In the video, other patrons can be heard saying “get the police” and “let her go.” But the employee doesn't seem to need much help. She can fend for herself! That's for sure. “YES this really did happen last night for all those asking me… it all started because he wanted a straw!!!,” read the caption to this video on Facebook. “The young girl said she used to box.” It has been viewed over 3.5 million times to date. According to the arrest report, a drunken Taylor told the cops he wanted “her ass fired,” referring to the employee, of course. The response? “No, you're going to jail,” she said. While being hauled away, meanwhile, Taylor kicked someone else in the stomach! “The defendant was being escorted out of the business by management due to him battering another employee, and causing a disturbance,” the arrest report reads. “The defendant kicked the victim in the stomach while she was standing near the exit door.” We mean, he wouldn't be a Florida Man if he acted calm during an arrest, right? Kelly is threatening to sue Lifetime if the network doesn’t pull the plug on airing its documentary according to a TMZ report. Kelly’s lawyer, Brian Nix, fired off on the network in a legal letter. Nix claims the “Surviving R. Kelly” documentary is packed with lies. Nix threatens to file a federal lawsuit today if the network doesn’t relent. Kelly’s camp is alleging that the women featured on the show made false allegations to become famous. To back up claims, Kelly says he has 2 audio recordings — 5 minutes in duration — that show Lifetime knew “some of the girls are lying, but that the budget was too high to turn back now.” The show is set to air TONIGHT. As far as we know, Lifetime plans to air 6-part documentary in full. The show will feature people from Kelly’s inner circle coming forward with new allegations that Kelly has sexually, mentally and physically abused women. Some of them speak for the first time ever on the subject. As we previously reported, a backup singer for Kelly tells her account of how she witnesses R. Ronnie Ortiz-Magro does not appear to have resolved to live a peaceful and scandal-free life in 2019. Or, heck, perhaps he has . The Jersey Shore veteran may simply be incapable of doing so. First, according to Us Weekly, Ronnie has broken up with long-time girlfriend Jen Harley. Yes, again. Will the split stick this time? Who the heck knows with these two?!? But it sounds like things turned ugly once more between the often-contentious couple, per an anonymous source who told this tabloid the following: “Ronnie and Jen got into a fight on New Year’s Eve. They broke up before New Year’s Eve, got back together right before then and got in a big fight on Monday night. “They’re currently broken up. But it’s the same story every time: They are together, they fight, they break up and then get back together.” Just a few days prior to this latest confrontation, Ronnie and Jen got into the loving holiday spirit by posing with their kids* for some adorable holiday photos. (*Jen has a son from a prior relationship and she welcomed Ronnie’s daughter, Ariana, in early April of last year.) As you can see, the reality stars looked perfectly content, calm and happy in these pictures — but looks can be deceiving. “They fight… a lot. They have a very volatile relationship. It’s either great or the total opposite,” writes Us Weekly , stating the most obvious thing ever to anyone who watched Jersey Shore: Family Vacation last season. Scroll down for the details on this unexpected situation… A source spoke to Us Weekly yesterday and said the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to a residence at about 3:23 a.m. on New Year’s Day concerning a burglary call: “Ronnie was not at the home when the police arrived at the scene. “Jen was not injured, but given the history of police calls between these two, police more than likely provided Jen with information about getting a restraining order, and other things she could do to prevent a escalating domestic violence issue.” Wow, huh? This insider says nothing was taken in the alleged crime, but there was damage to items inside the home. And there is now an ongoing investigation, with authorities likely to contact Ortiz-Magro. Neither Ronnie nor Jen has commented on this investigation. The former, though, has removed any trace of Harley from his Instagram account. Moreover, he Liked a negative remark in which a fan stated that they hoped his daughter “doesn’t grow up to act like her mother.” So, in other words, this may be a new year for Ronnie. But it’s very much the same old drama.

Enter Star Parker. Star took her triflin’ a$$ onto Donald Trump’s favorite cable news show Fox & Friends to heartlessly argue that poor people and those who can’t quite make ends meet should be shamed into getting off of public assistance. Peep what she said via HuffPo : “But now it’s like an EBT swipe card, it’s a debit card,” Parker continued. “So they take the shame out of it. The next thing you know you have an economic crash.” Oh, but there’s more. “These guys are not working. They’re watching. They’re watching porn, they’re watching TV, they’re watching women, they’re watching everything, but they’re not working. We have our first major celebrity death of 2019. According to the WWE, beloved announcer “Mean” Gene Okerlund is no longer with us. The legendary brodcaster, who conducted some of the best-known interviews in company history with such stalwarts as Hulk Hogan and Randy “Macho Man” Savage, was 76 years old. In its statement, the WWE did not say exactly when or how Okerlund passed away, simply writing as a tribute: “WWE is saddened to learn that WWE Hall of Famer Gene Okerlund, the most recognizable interviewer in sports-entertainment history, has passed away at age 76.” Okerlund was given his nickname by the former Minnesota Governor Jesse “The Body” Ventura, who was also an announcer with the organization before getting into politics. He got his start at Omaha radio station KOIL before moving to Minneapolis, where he worked for a local TV station and eventually found work with the WWE in 1983. Okerlund actually performed the National Anthem at the first WrestleMania in 1985 and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006. His last appeared on Monday Night Raw took place in January of 2018, during which time he interviewed AJ Styles. As news of Okerlund’s death spread around the Internet, numerous stars (past and present) sent along their tributes and best wishes. Vanderpump Rules fans have watched Brittany Cartwright tolerate an astonishing amount of mistreatment over the years. Mostly at the hands of her fiance, Jax Taylor, of course. Brit’s tolerance for abuse is the stuff of legend, but it seems that even individuals with the longest of fuses have some limitations. She’s apparently less willing to turn the other cheek when the perpetrator is someone other than her douchebag husband-to-be. Earlier this week, Brittany took to social media to share an account of an unfortunate incident. One that occurred while she and Jax were aboard a Delta flight from Atlanta to Miami on Sunday night. According to Britanny, she ran afoul of a fellow passenger during an altercation over restroom etiquette. Cartwright says the other passenger “started shaking my door a good 3 to 4 times [even though] I had already told her someone was in there.” Brittany says that after she stepped out of the restroom, she showed the passenger “where it said occupied and vacant.” No doubt she assumed the confrontation would end there. No doubt if it had, we would not be talking about it now. However, it seems the mystery passenger had other plans for how to best resolve the conflict. “Jax saw it all happen so of course we walk after her and say how dare you touch me, I did nothing but show you a sign,” Cartwright wrote. “This kind of behavior is not acceptable and I will be pressing charges. This incident was a complete assault.” “I had to cut gum out of my hair.” Savage. “I did absolutely nothing to deserve this and I feel like a mean girl like this needs to be put in [her] place before she acts like this to someone else.” Brittany tagged Delta in her tweets, and her co-stars have joined her in demanding that the airline take action to bring the perpetrator to justice. “I hope Delta does the right thing,” Cartwright wrote. “I will make sure this lady knows she can’t treat people this way. If this is what she will do at an AIRPORT (and get away with it), imagine what she is doing elsewhere?” Delta may be able to assist authorities in determining the alleged assailant’s identity, but if the attack took place in the airport? If it did not happen on a plane, the airline may determine that it’s outside of their jurisdiction and opt not to get involved at all. Obviously, it’s an unfortunate situation, and Brittany has received a great deal of compassion from fans as a result. She’s also been subjected to a considerable amount of scrutiny, however … because this is the Internet and because, well, Jax. For one, many have pointed out that perhaps the gum incident shouldn’t be her primary concern at the moment. After all, Jax has cheated on her , lied to her, heaped verbal and emotional abuse on her and her friends, and displayed violent tendencies on a number of occasions. And she’s set to exchange vows with the man very soon just the same. On top of that, the incident has encouraged some fans to do some digging into Britanny’s past, which is a rabbit hole in its own right. This online sleuthing has led to allegations that she lied about having never seen an episode of Vanderpump before meeting Jax. In fact, insiders allege that Brit was such a fan of the show that she was a full-on groupie in the Bravo hit’s early years. There are allegations that Cartwright even celebrated her birthday at SUR several years ago, before she’d even met Jax. Wow. Unfortunately, when you’re a reality star – particularly one on this show – such efforts may result in some unwanted attention.
Sigh. We had hoped that Samantha Markle would be one of those unfortunate trends we would be able to leave behind in 2018, like that stupid “flossing” dance, or talk of building the Wall. But alas Scammy Sammy is still clinging to relevancy in the new year. As you’re probably aware, Samantha is Meghan Markle’s awful half-sister . Meg’s story has been described as a fairytale, and unfortunately, it comes complete with bitter partial-sibling antagonists worthy of Cinderella. Samantha and her brother Thomas Markle Jr. have made it their life’s work to humiliate Meghan and cash in on her fame. Thankfully, they’ve been largely unsuccessful and have really only succeeded in humiliating themselves. Samantha’s most recent embarrassment was being deemed a “fixated person” and placed on a Scotland Yard watch list due to her worsening obsession with her half-sister. Sane people would take that as an indication that it’s time to back off and dedicate your time to something other than becoming the world’s most infamous stalker. But as she’s demonstrated many times, Samantha is anything but sane. Speaking to the UK’s Daily Star (London tabloids are the only ones who will give her the time of day at this point), Sam offered these thoughts about ways in which Meghan can improve herself in the year to come: “Your New Year’s resolution should be to be honest and pay tribute to those who have helped you the most such as your dad,” Samantha said. “Thank him for your college education, your career, building every stage you set foot on, but really appreciate the people that care about you. “So many people around the world don’t have anyone who cares about them and hopefully you will count your blessings and reflect moving forward in the new year and pay that gratitude forward to your children so that they also thank you.” she continued. “It all comes full circle… it started with dad, and you can carry on the legacy,” Sam prattled on. “And of course, I would add to eat more chocolate to sweeten your disposition for the new year.” “Tiresome” doesn’t even begin to describe Sam’s ramblings at this point. “You owe everything to your family!” is such a bitter less-successful sibling argument that it’s impossible to imagine she’s unaware of how pathetic she comes off here. That said, “eat more chocolate” is a solid resolution we can definitely get behind. Of course, when it comes to sweetening one’s disposition, Sam could very much benefit from following her own advice. Just sayin’.
