What’s The All-Time Best ‘Sex And The City’ Episode? Stars Make Their Picks!

‘The City’ co-stars Whitney Port and Roxy Olin, ‘Hills’ star Stephanie Pratt and more weigh in. By Jocelyn Vena Whitney Port Photo: MTV News With the highly anticipated “Sex and the City 2” about to hit theaters on Thursday, MTV News asked some of the show’s biggest celebrity fans to dish on their favorite episodes from the TV series, which aired from 1998 to 2004 before spinning off into the films. There were a lot of fabulous episodes to choose from, but Roxy Olin, who stars in “The City,” another show single women living in Manhattan, said “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” from season two was a standout for her. In that story line, Carrie discovers the perfect way to get over one of her many breakups with Mr. Big. “At the Yankee game, when she goes and gets with the Yankee … I just remember that so clearly,” Olin told MTV News. “And she was drunk or something at the game. There’s so many moments in ‘Sex and the City,’ I can go on and on and on.” “Twilight” star Elizabeth Reaser went with season-three episode “What Comes Around, Goes Around,” which finds Carrie involuntarily parting from one of her most prized possessions. “Love the moment where she gets robbed,” Reaser laughed. “I think she gets mugged for her shoes.” “The Post-It Always Sticks Twice,” which aired during season 6, still tops the list for many “SATC” fans, including “The Hills” star Stephanie Pratt and “Hills” alumna Whitney Port. In the episode, Carrie’s writer beau Berger breaks up with her via the sticky paper. “When Carrie gets broken up with on the Post-it note, and they go to the downtown bar,” Pratt recalled of the shaken Carrie and her pals. “Maybe when she gets broken up with on the Post-It?” said “The City” star Port of the same episode. “That’s so sad!” At the “Sex and the City 2” premiere in New York City on Monday, Port revealed that of the four ladies, she connected most to the Manolo Blahnik-loving Carrie. “I think I relate to Carrie probably the most,” she said. “Because I think careerwise, [my path is] like the path that she took.” What’s your favorite “SATC” episode? On Tuesday, we brought you a sneak peek of the “Da Da Da” video ; now, we have a preview of “Knockout,” featuring Nicki Minaj. “Knockout” is audacious and sexy with Wayne and Nicki playing off each other. The duo meet in a pink locker room as Wayne — toting his guitar — sings to the Young Money leading lady: “Hey, Barbie! Are you into black men?/ Hey, Barbie! I can be your black Ken/ Wow! ‘Cause once you go black, you never go back/ She wore her hair black, with curls in the back.” Nicki wears her hair half blond, half blue and sings the chorus: “Baby 1, 2, 3/ Tell ’em get the referee/ ‘Cause he can get the knockout/ If the telephone rings/ It’s emergency/ ‘Cause he can get the knockout.” “Knockout” is one of nine videos Wayne shot during Super Bowl weekend in Miami in anticipation of his current yearlong prison sentence, which started in March. A lot of us wouldn’t do that. A lot of us would be curled up on a ball like, ‘Oh my God, my life is about to be over.’ So shout-out to Lil Wayne. We’re honored that he chose each and every one of us, handpicked us. And we love him.” “Knockout” features a cameo from the Birdman and was directed by Jeffrey Panzer and Wayne himself. Lil Wayne Is ‘Probably Dying To Spit,’ Jay Sean Says

‘He’s gonna come out and do 100 albums,’ Jay tells MTV News of imprisoned Cash Money superstar. By Shaheem Reid, with reporting by Tim Kash Jay Sean Photo: Nuzhat Naoreen/ MTV News Cash Money hero Jay Sean said the label’s cornerstone act is doing as well as can be expected in prison. Sean said several members of Cash Money — including the CEOs, Ronald “Slim” Williams and his brother Bryan “Baby” Williams — visit Lil Wayne frequently. “They go and see him once a week,” Jay said recently in New York. “Either Baby will go in one week and Slim will go the other week. His boys will go and see him. [Wayne is] good. He’s doing well.” Besides seeing his family, Jay said Weezy is longing to get back in the studio. “I think the hardest thing for Wayne right now is not being in the studio,” he said. “That’s it. That’s probably the only thing; he’s probably dying to spit. Think about it. The guy was making a new song every day, every hour. He’s gonna come out and do 100 albums. “I’m sure it’s all up in here,” Jay added, alluding to the fact that Wayne doesn’t write his lyrics down. When Sean asks Slim and Baby about Wayne, “It’s the same thing,” he said. ” ‘How’s he doing? Is he cool?’ Hopefully he’s not getting into any trouble. They say he’s getting better and better. He’s more positive. He can’t wait to come out.” Besides the Cash Money Millionaires, Wayne also had a high-profile visit in prison from Diddy . Lil Wayne Could Serve More Time Because Of MP3 Player In His Cell

‘You lose some ‘good time,’ ‘ our source at Rikers Island says of contraband found in Wayne’s cell. By Shaheem Reid, with additional reporting by Sway Calloway and Rahman Dukes Lil Wayne Photo: Derrick G A source at Rikers Island confirmed reports that Lil Wayne was busted Monday for having headphones, a charger and a watch that doubles as an MP3 player in his jail cell. The offense isn’t extremely serious, but it could mean more prison time for Wayne. “You just get an infraction, a violation,” the source told MTV News. “You lose some ‘good time.’ “It depends on the severity of the infraction,” the source added about what other type of trouble Weezy could get into. “Level one is the worst. Then you have [level] two or three. [This infraction] could be a level one. He has to go on trial, and based on evidence, they’ll make their determination.” Our source also confirmed that Wayne has a job as a suicide-prevention aid, which entails staying up at night to keep an eye on at-risk inmates. “He checks each cell or area to see if each guy is alive. There are three shifts,” our source said. “I think his shift is at night, like 11 [p.m.] to 7 [a.m.] or 12 to 8.” That job is now in jeopardy due to the infraction. In 2007, Lil Wayne was arrested for attempted gun possession following his first headlining performance in Manhattan at the Beacon Theatre. New York is among the toughest states in the country when it comes to gun-possession laws. In other states, Lil Wayne could have gotten off with a misdemeanor rap and probation. However, in New York, only law-enforcement officials and those affiliated with authorities are permitted to carry firearms. The rapper was sentenced to a year in prison in March. Cory Gunz Explains Delay In Signing With Lil Wayne’s Young Money Label

‘I got nothing but respect for him. Free Wayne,’ Gunz says of his new boss, in Mixtape Daily. By Shaheem Reid Cory Gunz Photo: Johnny Nunez/WireImage The O.D.: A Mixtape Daily Exclusive Well, it took a few years, but Cory Gunz has finally signed to Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment. We all thought years ago — in the wake of Gunz dropping lyrics for Weezy’s Tha Carter III blockbuster “A Millie” (Gunz’s bars never made the album as originally planned, but it did land on mixtapes) — that Cory was going to be down with the team. … But there was the matter of the Bronx native’s recording deal with Def Jam and then President Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter. “[There were] miscommunication issues,” Cory said recently in New York about why he’s just now getting down with YM and CM. “Me and other ventures, a bunch of other paperwork. [Years ago] Wayne took time out of his schedule. He was promoting Tha Carter II and he took time out of his schedule to come from ‘TRL’ and ‘106 [and Park]’ and come to Sony studio; Shot out to Just Blaze. He took that and remixed it. Wayne did that for free back then. It was a situation that was supposed to go down before, but I was in paperwork with Hov at the time. One thing led to another. I was freed up and he reached out by the powers that be and now I’m here [on his label]. History is about to be made. He just kept it 100. I got nothing but respect for him. Free Wayne.” “Shout out to Wayne,” he added. “Shout out to the whole Young Money family. Shout out to Mack Maine. Everybody. It’s definitely official. Young Money/ Cash Money. Shout out to Wayne for giving me a shot. He kept it real. All I’mma say, that this is it. This is what it is. Everybody just better get ready.” Cory has been recording a bunch of material for an album that he had planned to title God Forgives, I Don’t. That LP is now going to be an EP and will be preceded by a gaggle of mixtapes . Cory’s Young Money debut LP still has no title, but Weezy will steer the ship once he gets home from prison later this year. “Definitely. Wayne is gonna executive-produce the album,” he explained. “I trust his insight. He’s going to be overseeing everything. I’m gonna keep doing the things I been doing. I think that’s what’s gotten me noticed. I’mma just keep my grind moving. Whatever ventures I can do, I’m bringing my family through. My whole team is gonna eat. I’m just telling everybody to get ready.” Cory will have no problem getting acclimated into his new family. He has relationships with quite of few of his teammates already. “I haven’t met Nicki [Minaj] yet,” Gunz said. “Me and [Drake] met a while back when they was doing the I Am Music Tour in Arizona. I went over there with Shaquille, and Drake shouted me out [onstage]. It was something he didn’t have to do. The fact he did that way before [I was on Young Money], I was humbled by that. As far as Jae Millz, me and Millz — had a relationship before all of this. I went on my first road tour with Millz. I talk to Chuckee and Twist a lot. Mack, of course, I talk to. Gudda is family, Short [Dawg]. Shout out to T-Streets too.” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines or follow the Mixtape Daily team on Twitter: @shaheemreid and @mongosladenyc .

Gudda Gudda Recalls Getting ‘Willy Wonka’ From Lil Wayne

‘Right before [Weezy] went to jail, he was like, ‘Man, you can have that,’ ‘ Young Money member tells Mixtape Daily. By Shaheem Reid Gudda Gudda and Lil Wayne Photo: Young Money/Cash Money Breaking Through: Gudda Gudda Young Money’s Gudda Gudda has a new video on the way for “Willy Wonka,” but he has no idea what the clip will look like. “We shot a green-screen video,” Gudda told Mixtape Daily about the production, which was shot before co-star Lil Wayne went to prison . “It was almost like how [Young Money’s] ‘Roger That’ was. I don’t know what they’re doing to it. I’m kinda lost. “It wasn’t my video at first,” Gudda continued. “All I know is that we shot green screen. I don’t know if I’mma need to shoot more scenes on it. I didn’t see the final cut. If I don’t like the way it is, I’m gonna pay for somebody to shoot more scenes for me and make it right.” “Willy Wonka” was originally slated to be on Weezy’s upcoming Tha Carter IV, but the YM founder passed it on to his good friend. “[DJ] Ill Will sent me the beat,” Gudda recalled. “He didn’t do nothing on the night I played it for him. I laid my verse on it that night. He came back the next day, the engineer pulled it up like, ‘Look what Gudda did to the beat.’ By the time I came back to the studio, [Wayne] had already laid his verse on it. The song was done. “I didn’t know what he was using it for. Ill Will sent it to me for my mixtape. I already figured Wayne might want it. I was like, ‘If he wants it for his album, we gotta give it to him.’ So basically, he wanted it at first. We shot the video for it. And right before [Weezy] went to jail, he was like, ‘Man, you can have that sh–. Go ‘head, man, get you. Put that sh– out and go stupid with it. Take the song, take everything.’ He gave me all that sh– right before he went to jail.” Gudda said he communicates with Wayne frequently. “I talk to him a few times a week,” Gudda said. “He’s doing real good, on some real sh–. He’s in there being positive, reading all his fan mail. He’s trying to stay busy. He’s got a job in there. He’s good.” Weezy also appears on Gudda’s Back to Guddaville mixtape, dropping soon. The New Orleans MC opened up about the warm reception for his last street album. “When I put that Guddaville out [a few months ago], I ain’t never get a response like that since I been doing music,” he said. “It felt good, I was real humble. It makes wanna go in the studio ASAP. I started working on Back to Guddaville. I didn’t wanna leave that space. “This one is all originals,” he added. “I have nothing on nobody else’s track. All of it is originals. Of course, y’all gonna hear the ‘Willy Wonka’ joint with me and Wayne [and] ‘Small Thing to a Giant’ with me and Wayne. I got a joint called ‘Polo’; it’s crazy. I got a joint called ‘Lock My CEO Up’ featuring Waka Flocka [Flame]. That’s gonna be one of the hardest songs this year. I promise. I put things about Wayne in my verse. Waka put things about Gucci [Mane] in his verse.” As a bonus for the song, Gudda said he’ll feature the recording of an actual phone conversation between himself and Wayne from Rikers Island , where he’s been since April, as well as a phone call that captures Gucci calling Waka from prison. Jay Rock, Juelz Santana and various members of the Young Money squad will also cameo on the new mixtape. Gudda said he’s excited about his sequel and grateful about the momentum that the original Guddaville tape has sparked for him. He performs material from the tape at shows, several times a week. “It feels good,” Gudda said of his growing fanbase. “I been patient for a long time. People know I been with Wayne for a minute. Me and him been through a lot. It feels good to know that I been patient and I’m getting my just due. I ain’t all the way there yet, but I’m making some money. I’m making a lot more money than other n—as. [Fans] hit me and tell me they … sorry. They say, ‘I’m sorry my n—a. I ain’t know you was that nice. I take it back.’ ” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines or follow the Mixtape Daily team on Twitter: @shaheemreid and @mongosladenyc .

Lil Wayne Writes Mother’s Day Blog Post

‘You are the role models, not me,’ the MC writes from prison in post previewed online Tuesday. By Jayson Rodriguez Toya, Reginae and Lil Wayne Photo: MTV A preview of Lil Wayne’s third blog posting since he began his prison term appeared online Tuesday (May 4) and, in it, the Young Money boss honors the mothers of the world. Timed to coincide with Mother’s Day on Sunday, the full letter will be published on Friday on his fan site WeezyThanxYou.com , launched so the Cash Money rapper could stay in touch with followers while he’s away. Wayne pays homage to the all the hard-working women in the web excerpt. “The love between a mother and her offspring is hands down the most beautiful thing God created,” the incarcerated MC wrote on DrJays.com , which obtained an exclusive preview. “More than money, more than fame, more than cars. You know why? Because true love is the only thing that lasts from the moment you’re born to the second you perish. “Everything else eventually leaves, think about it. All love needs to survive is love. To all the mothers who read this letter, I hope this day allows you to feel the love and respect you so rightfully deserve. You are the role models, not me.” The letter will be the second official statement he’s penned (excluding an initial update in which he thanked a number of fans by name for writing to him) since a sports post on NFL star Donovan McNabb getting traded. In his first-ever comments after turning himself in for an eight-month sentence on Rikers Island, Wayne opened up about his new daily routines and wrote back to fans who were already sending him correspondence. “Your letter was so thoughtful and sincere,” Wayne wrote in response to Nurris Terrero of New York. “The way you worded everything left me in awe. Please send suggestions on books I should read. I look forward to checking them out.” Are you reading Lil Wayne’s blog posts? Let us know in the comments! Lil Wayne Talks Sex, Children In Pre-Jail Interview

In Ozone magazine, Weezy says having four kids with four different mothers isn’t ‘any concern of anybody’s.’ By Jayson Rodriguez Lil Wayne (file) Photo: MTV News Lil Wayne ‘s larger than life persona continues to keep fans intrigued even while the rapper is behind bars. The MC is set to grace the cover of Ozone magazine for its sixth annual “Sex Issue,” even though he’s currently serving his year-long jail sentence on weapons charges . In the issue (which was not on the magazine’s website at press time, but reps confirmed the article’s accuracy to MTV News), Wayne touches on a variety of subjects, ranging from the mothers of his children — which include actress Lauren London and singer Nivea — to his rumored relationship with Shanell, an artist signed to his Young Money label. Regarding his four children with four different women, Weezy bristled at any criticism tossed his way about fathering kids with different mothers. “I don’t think what people think should be any concern of anybody’s,” he said. “It’s definitely not a concern of mine. I’d be crazy if it was and you’re crazy if you are. But that goes back to me not caring about what people think or say. They wanna be [baby mama] number five, six, and seven, so …” In just over 12 months, from late 2008 to the end of 2009, Wayne had three children born to him. But in the interview, he wouldn’t confirm if he was in a rebellious phase or intentionally planned to have multiple children as close to the same time. “You’d have to be a woman that’s with me to know what phase I was going through,” he explained. “If I was to answer that question for you or for the world or for this magazine, then I’d be the dumbest n—a on the planet.” Recently, prior to entering prison, Wayne dodged rumors that he was intimately involved with Shanell, who worked closely with the rapper on his rock-leaning effort, Rebirth . Shanell denied a romance between her and Wayne when she spoke to MTV News in February. Wayne echoed the singer’s comments, telling Ozone the pregnancy rumors surrounding him and Shanell are impossible. “How could that be? We’ve never had sex,” he said. “How could she be pregnant from me? You’ve got to have sex to be pregnant. That’s one of the things you have to do. I don’t understand how people’s brains work. You know? I’m a really big person. I’m a real superstar. I’m not afraid to tell you or nobody else, you know?” What do you about Wayne’s Ozone interview? Let us know in the comments! Lil Wayne’s ‘I’m Single’ Video Preview Leaves Fans ‘Hungry’ For More

‘This is almost tiding his fans over until he gets out,’ one fan tells MTV News. By Steven Roberts Lil Wayne Photo: Johnny Nunez/ WireImage NEW YORK — Lil Wayne ‘s newest video, for “I’m Single,” premieres Sunday at noon ET on MTV Jams and MTV2’s “Sucker Free Countdown.” The song is one of the cuts featured on Wayne’s 2009 mixtape, No Ceilings , and the clip was directed by DJ Scoob Doo. The video is one of many clips Wayne filmed before heading off to serve a one-year prison sentence at New York’s Rikers Island for weapons charges. MTV News hit the streets of Times Square to show fans a sneak peek of the video and see if Wayne’s forward thinking will keep his fans satisfied. “Even though he is incarcerated, he’s still making music, he’s still out there, he’s still got music for his fans, he’s putting it out there, and I like it,” Deanna Brown said. “I think this is something different,” she added. “Even with other incarcerated rappers, everybody’s like, ‘Wait till they get out. Wait till they get out.’ And they can’t wait for that release. This is almost tiding his fans over until he gets out. It makes you even more hungry, like, ‘Ahh, if he’s doing this while he’s incarcerated, I can’t wait to see what happens when he gets out.’ ” Other fans echoed Brown’s sentiments. Jonathan Edmonston said fans will appreciate Wayne’s dedication while he’s behind bars. “It will capture the fans’ interest,” Edmonston said. “And it will just let his fans know that he’s there for them, he loves them. I just feel he’s reaching out to them.” Are you excited to see Lil Wayne’s new video? Let us know in the comments below! Related Artists Lil Wayne
