Eminem Facebook Page Hits 60 Million Likes Before Rihanna, Lady Gaga

Eminem, Facebook King. The rapper has that title all to himself after surpassing 60 million “Likes” Wednesday, more than any other living person. Rihanna and Lady Gaga, who each have huge social media followings of their own, are Liked by about 59.4 million and 53.5 million, respectively. Despite the fact that fan interaction and writing in first person on Facebook is the #1 way to get shares and Likes, being famous trumps all. On Eminem’s Facebook page, the 39-year-old generally posts links to YouTube videos of his music and interviews, with little or no comment. According to AppData, Eminem is close to nabbing more than 26,000 “Likes” each day, with Rihanna not far behind with 22,000 “Likes” per day. Rihanna and Gaga’s more engaged approach top Eminem in the “talking about this” metric, however, which measures overall activity on a page. Eminem has 290,896 people talking about him, while Rihanna has 1,016,304 and Lady Gaga has 1,209,588 … that’s a lot of Little Monsters. When it comes to Twitter, however, Lady Gaga is the undisputed queen with more than 27 million followers. Justin Bieber has nearly 26 million. P.S. Please Like THG on Facebook and help us catch Eminem! We’re only like 59 million behind! Hey, 872,000 isn’t too shabby people. [Photo: WENN.com]

Ryan Lochte and K. Michelle: Dating?!

Ryan Lochte and K. Michelle are not two people we ever expected we’d be posting dating rumors about, but here you go, with the supposed evidence: Lochte is a hip-hop fan who rocks that sick grill , so it’s not that surprising he’d be an acquaintance of a cast member on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. Here’s Ryan Lochte and K. Michelle at the NBA All-Star game together: Whether or not they’ve ever hooked up or are hooking up – Ryan Lochte’s girlfriend Blair Evans may have something to say about that – they clearly hang out. There are also shots of them partying together on other occasions, and throughout the Olympics, K. Michelle has been Tweeting about her “Pooh.” Yes, her Pooh, who has (mostly) been kicking ass … Are they actually dating? Or just friends? Friends with benefits? Who can say, but Lochte continues to be all the Olympic rage. Ryan may have a long way to go to match Michael Phelps ‘ career medal haul, but he’s right on his tail in terms of celebrity gossip attention.

Kris Humphries to Drag Reggie Bush Into Divorce Court?

Kim Kardashian may be krushing on Kanye West , but she’s far from finished with the past loves of her irritating life. Insiders tell Radar Online that Kris Humphries and his legal team are “gathering information” from this reality star’s ex-lovers – in particular Reggie Bush – and considering whether or not to subpoena them as part of Kris and Kim’s ongoing divorce battle. What information could Bush possibly provide in a deposition? Some kind of proof, Humphries hopes, that Kardashian is insincere in relationships and always seeking fame and fortune above romance. Kardashian’s lawyer, meanwhile, is taking a similar approach. He is requiring Myla Sinanaj to appear in court at a later date in order to reveal details of her time dating the NBA power forward. How has Kris fired back? By claiming Kris Jenner orchestrated the Kim Kardashian sex tape and that this is an example of how the family plots and schemes in every circumstance, manipulating situations and feelings to fit their marketing agenda. We wouldn’t make any long-term plans out of the country, Ray J. You’re clearly next.

Catching Fire Casting: Philip Seymour Hoffman in for Hunger Games Sequel?

After inheriting the reins of the Hunger Games franchise from director Gary Ross, Francis Lawrence is making casting moves as the YA series sequel, Catching Fire , comes into view. According to THR, the first new cast addition may be Philip Seymour Hoffman , who has reportedly been offered a key role that will figure into the next two installments in the franchise: New Head Gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee. If you recall, Wes Bentley’s Seneca Crane didn’t fare so well at the end of The Hunger Games, having failed to do his job in allowing Katniss Everdeen to become a symbol for rebellion. His position now vacated, Crane is replaced in Catching Fire by Heavensbee, who has a few surprises of his own to reveal. If you’ve read the books or know what happens in Catching Fire and beyond, the casting of this character in particular is all more intriguing, given what transpires in the plot-heavy next installments. Without spoiling it, I’ll just say this: Seeing someone of Hoffman’s caliber in the role makes Catching Fire (and the trilogy-ender Mockingjay) very promising, indeed. No confirmation yet as to whether or not Hoffman is a go for Plutarch Heavensbee; filming, meanwhile, is set to begin in September. [ THR ]

Just Can’t Get Enough! GQ Releases Outtakes From That Dope A$$ D’Angelo Interview

D’Angelo Talks About The Frustrations Of Fame And Why He Hates The Term Neo-Soul We recently shared parts of D’Angelo’s first interview in 12 years, and loved it so much that we were thrilled to find out GQ had published more outtakes from the interview online that didn’t make the print issue. Here are a few excerpts below: On fighting fame after Brown Sugar and hating the term ‘neo soul’: D’Angelo looks back on that time with some discomfort. A perfectionist, he wishes he’d had more of an active interplay with the audience. But it all took off so fast, he says. He was confused, he says, by his sudden notoriety, even as he, Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu and others were credited with launching the “neo-soul” movement (a label he hates). “It counteracts the very fawking idea of what it was in the first place,” he says. “It’s black music thinking — it’s black music manifested outside of the box. And when you label it neo soul, you’re putting it right back in the box. How about you just call me soul music?” That argument was just one of many D was having in his own head. “I tried to fight, I guess, what typically fame quote-unquote does to people,” he says. “I didn’t want to stop being, you know, the rambunctious mug that I was, because that’s what made my music what it was. It happens to the best of them, you know: At some point in everyone’s career, it was like the music lost its bite. I’m like, ‘Well, how do you avoid that?’” On what it was like for D to perform in Stockholm in January, his first concert in more than a decade: “It was scary,” D will tell me later, reflecting on playing the guitar in public for the first time. “I would feel comfortable when I was by myself, but actually getting onstage and playing was a different thing. My friend Raphael Saadiq was like, ‘Yo, man, you’ve just got to jump in. Start swimming. Just jump in the pool, you know?’ It was good advice. I was nervous up until the point where we started playing and singing, and then it just felt—it felt cool.” On D’s upcoming third album: Despite assurances that it’s 97-percent done, D hasn’t locked his third. Not yet. In Europe, he unveiled several songs he thinks will be on it. In addition to “Ain’t That Easy” and the irresistible dance number, “Sugar Daddy,” there is a song Questlove compares to Herbie Hancock called “The Charade.” “Crawling through a systematic maze to demise,” it begins, and D sings the line with a seething fury. When I catch a reference to “the deceiver,” I can’t help but think: this song—twisted, almost atonal, multi-layered—is about that forked-tongued devil, Fame. D says I’m wrong. “It’s about the disenfranchised,” he says. “It’s telling the powers that be, ‘This is why we are justified in our stance.’ There’s another song on the album called ‘A Thousand Deaths’ that is the flip side of the coin. ‘A Thousand Deaths’ is just a fucking war cry. You know what I mean? The beheadings have commenced.” It occurs to me that the Nat Turner Rebellion of 1831, in which slaves rose up and killed more than 50 white people, the only sustained slave rebellion in the South’s history, took place in D’s home state of Virginia. “Ain’t no justice/It’s just us/Ash to ashes/Dust to dust,” D sang so insistently on Voodoo. I am beginning to get what he means. I ask someone who has a closely-guarded copy to let me hear “1000 Deaths.” It is dark, dense and mysterious and makes the most of D’s newfound prowess on the guitar. The lead vocal is so distorted—like the moans and groans of a Negro spiritual—that D could almost be speaking in tongues. The song is compelling, maybe even profound, but it is the opposite of catchy. That’s just fine with D. He tells me art, not commerce, is his fuel. This sounds so dope. We can’t wait to hear D’s new album! Photo credit: Gregory Harris/GQ

Slimmy Trimmy Steez: Janet Jackson Covers Prevention Magazine To Talk About Her Love Life, Weight Issues, And Michael Jackson’s Daughter Paris!

“Miss Jackson If Ya Nasty” takes the front and center position of this month’s issue of Prevention Magazine to let people in on what is going on in her world. Janet Jackson Covers Prevention Magazine Here is some of what she had to say. On being the spokeswoman for Nutrisystem: “I think people really connect with the idea of someone who’s gained and lost weight in a very public way, and also someone who’s an emotional eater.” On being an example to her niece Paris, Michael’s 14-year-old daughter who landed her first film role in Lundon’s Bridge and the Three Keys: “We’ve spoken about the fact that you’re only a child once. I think there’s a time for everything, and now is not the time [to act in films]. I told her I thought she should enjoy being a kid, possibly go to college—or not—but wait till she turns 18. She’s a very tough, smart girl. But it’s a cutthroat industry. I wouldn’t want my child to do it.” On the dichotomy of being 5’4, sweet and soft-spoken and her identity as a five-time Grammy Award-winning artist who’s sold more than 100 million records: “My songs are normally about what’s going on in my life at the moment. I don’t need to keep a diary.” Hit the flipper to see what Janet says about her weight issues, and whether or not her rich new boo-thang is a keeper for LIFE!
